We booked this break over a year ago because we were off to Cheltenham Races. We couldn’t afford the prices in Cheltenham and found this Beautiful gem of place .. set in peaceful surroundings with a view of the lake . We had a few hiccups re accommodation but nothing that the Orion team couldn’t sort out. We found them to be super efficient and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them . The house we stayed in was modern, well equipped, the only gripe we had is that the 3rd bedroom was a pull out bed which turned into a double .. so not really a mattress on the bed .. when you are a group of certain ladies over a certain age we do like to get a good nights sleep so the bed wasn’t comfortable even with an added mattress topper . But it didn’t spoil our enjoyment and we would definitely come back to stay ..

We stay on the lake a couple of times a year and this was our first stay in No. 19. We had a lovely holiday and it’s probably the best location on Spring lake that we’ve stayed in - as close to the lake as you can get, without losing the grassy area that the children love to play on. Just a few yards from the lakeside Brasserie and water sports. Having glass instead of wooden fencing around the decking was a really lovely addition and view of the lake.

It was really well equipped - especially the kitchen.

There were just a few things that would enhance comfort and make it competitive with some of the other spring lake house at similar price points.
* the mattresses in the main bedroom were sooo comfy! But 2 singles pushed together is never a good idea - someone always gets the uncomfortable middle bit and it impacts on the sense of quality.

* Our other main issues was having a wet room design for the only bathroom. It was really clean but was quite inconvenient. The small (WC-style) basin isnt big enough for a family bathroom - the waterfall tap on the small sink meant we were constantly getting the floor wet while we learned to be really careful opening the tap. There wasnt much storage - only a few baskets (6 people wouldn’t be able to use this easily).

And the open shower with 2 plastic shower curtains meant the bathroom floor was always soaked for anyone else wanting to use the bathroom afterwards. There’s nothing worse than sticking to a plastic shower curtain and it felt poor quality/spec compared to other comparable houses on the lake.
It felt strange in it’s design and would benefit from a rethink for a holiday home.
Also, it really needs a toilet roll holder given the floor is often wet.

There was loads of hanging space in the main bedroom with bedside cabinets, but a chest of drawers would be really helpful. The drawers in the small bedrooms were invaluable.

The outdoor table and chairs were good condition. A great addition would be some comfy furniture/outdoor sofa to enjoy the view.

This was the first time we’d booked via Orion rather than direct with an owner. The service was good and d sadlnrkbe czz as m to check we’d settled in. Although we missed the flexibility on dates, ie you can only go Monday or a Friday, and not Saturdays.
The cleaners were also a little keen and were waiting outside for us to leave at 10. They came in to start cleaning whilst we were finishing loading the car. It felt a little rushed/ stressful as we left, and I think most people would appreciate 10 minutes grace for a 10am check out.

Overall a lovely stay in a nice house, and we’d go back for that location on the lake.

Perfect location, perfect accommodation, perfect stay! Absolutely loved it and highly recommend. So clean, brilliant parking, lovely local restaurant.

The place is quiet, clean and spacious. The scenery of the lake is wonderful. Every day, I can see some wild ducks, swans, etc. swimming on the lake just outside the balcony. Unfortunately, the time I stayed was not exactly the vacation season & during lock down. Also, I have no car, it is a bit inconvenient to go to the nearest grocery shop on foot. But this is my personal issue. :)
