This holiday home must rank among the best in Connemara. One counterargument: we wanted to stay longer but couldn't :-)
Really enjoyed our stay. All the family (4 generations) had a wonderful time. House highly suitable...spacious and very comfortable. So near our favourite beach. We are looking forward to returning next year
This is a beautifully appointed apartment in excellent location right in centre of Clifden. The apartment is modern, bright, spacious and has all the facilities that one needs for a comfortable stay. It has been newly and very tastefully decorated with a subtle maritime theme. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in rebooking. The staff at Connemara Lettings were also excellent and very helpful.
20 of us stayed at SUNNYBANK for a week to celebrate our Golden Wedding with an age range of 2 to 82. The house and surrounging area met with all our needs. The house provided excellent accommodation and amenities with plenty of room to accommodate our party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay and would not hesitate to recommend SUNNYBANK to friends and family as a superb venue for a holiday or any celebration. Shane was most courteous and very helpful during our stay. Just wonderful!
We loved the beautiful home. It was super comfortable and the views were spectacular. We loved the sunsets . Maureen and Bernard were excellent hosts. The bedrooms were super comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is fabulous. The couches are super comfortable and great for place for an afternoon nap. Our boys loved the grounds. The wildflowers were gorgeous. Thank you for a beautiful week!
We booked this accommodation because of the connemarathon en stayed here with two young children. After a long nightly journey from Dublin, the arrival was warm with home-made bread, wine and a filled refridgerator. The location was perfect in the middle of the centre. One, minor, detail could be the heating/cooling systems on the roof which might prevent you from opening the window during the night), however we did not find it very disturbing.
Fabulous property in an excellent location in the heart of Clifden. Travelling with a baby, we had everything we needed in the property, it was spacious, clean and with all the amenities. Also had a very warm welcome from Pearl who was so kind to leave us some basic treats to start us off like homemade bread, butter milk and water which was greatly appreciated after our long journey. Highly recommend this property.
We myself and my family really enjoyed our stay in this house . It was very well equipped and very comfortable. Also very convenient to Keogh's pub which serves delicious food and lovely staff . Well worth it .
Had a brilliant holiday here. Beautiful house with lots of space - and a great view of the sea. So close to Dog’s Bay and Gurteen Beaches, which are outstanding!
I rented this house to share with a couple of ladies . We had a mini yoga retreat. This house will leave you speechless. Beyond gorgeous. Million dollar views. Bed linen spotless and crisp. I have rented many houses. This one gets the 100 percent pass. Not a speck of dust under the beds. We loved it . Samantha and Yvonne the sgen6s are a pleasure to deal with. Great advice and information. We most certainly will be back to once upon a tide. Yvonne thank you for recommending a home away from home. It was a great weekend. Caroline Holmes
Great if you're looking for peace and gorgeous landscapes. The house is cosy and set apart from civilization (but 45-minute drive to many beautiful places) The host, who lives only two houses away, is very welcoming and nice. We'll definitely stay there again if we can.
A well furnished apartment with fabulous sea views very helpful and friendly owners who went the extra mile to ensure a memorable holiday in beautiful Connemara.
Great property, with everything you need provided for. Two seperate cottages enabled privacy. Lovely outdoor area. Within walking distance to the beach
My family and I stayed in the house for a month and it had everything we needed for our extended holiday. The house is spotlessly clean and updated. Location couldn’t be better...just a very short walk to shops, pubs/ restaurants and grocery stores. Everything was easy from booking to check out. Loved our time here!
I highly recommend this house. Had 12 people in the house and had plenty of room and it's well equiped. The location is peaceful and stunning.
Maureen and Albert were sweet and professional. We enjoy cooking and everything is there, perfect kitchen Nice cosy seating rooms Just next to Liddl and Aldi and 10mns from pubs and town center
Amazing stay in beautiful accommodation. We are a family of 8, 6 adults and two young children 5 & 7. The accommodation was absolutely perfect, something for everyone, games room for the men, games for the girls, beautiful garden for the children with tree house. Living accommodation superb, couldn't fault anything, every last detail been accommodated. Comfort amazing, huge kitchen diner, and huge lounge. The hosts Marie & Joe were so so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them, and of course 'Lady' the dog was the center of attraction with the girls.
Bríd was a lovely host and we had a beautiful stay. A perfect remote location with great views and all the self catering facilities required. Great wet room!
What can i say at such sort notice my family needed accommodation due to the passing of my granny. I called up and got booked into the apartment with no hasstle giving it was also a bank holiday weekend we where looked after. The quality of the apartment was just amazing very spacious and comfortable the garden is great for friends amd family to gather in and the views where amazing with out a shadow of a doubt we will be back to book into that accommodation again
Amazing place to stay with stunning vista, just outside the unspoiled Clifden, a fantastic base from which to best explore the wonderful Conamara.
Beautiful House with plenty of room, ( there was 7 of us) beautiful views and in a delightful location. Your on your own but very much in the community. Newmans bar was a delight as was Sweeney's. I would highly recommend this property.
Fabulous apartment. Every need has been thought about. Lovely break in the West of Ireland. Would definitely recommend it.
Fabulous stay location was amazing beautiful white Sand beach and crystal clear water ! Highly recommend amazing stay thank You !
Connemara Holiday letting were extremely helpful in finding us accommodation in our specified location at our last minute request. The agent was warm & friendly, polite & patient. Tigh Mhicilín would not have been on my radar in the past.... however I am glad that I did not miss this authentic Irish home from home experience. The cottage is a tardis! There are 3 bedrooms accommodating 6 people. Two bedrooms cleverly constructed upstairs with a mezzanine landing / walkway between. Very comfortable beds and beautiful woolen rugs and bed spreads available as extras. A downstairs double bedroom wi...more
The house is super comfortable with everything one could need . The bedrooms and beds very comfortable. Sitting areas with superb views . The beach is a dream and super safe for my grandchildren . One couldn’t find better accommodation anywhere.
We absolutely loved our stay in murlach moorings. The house was beautiful and so well decorated. The location is stunning with so many beaches to choose from. We will definitely be back to this house!
Superb spacious comfortable clean peaceful house. Great outlook onto lake. Good base to explore Connemara and get away from it all. 19km to Clifden 9km to Roundstone 1km to nearest shop and bar Highly recommended.
Lovely clean house . Breathe taking views from front door. Pity we couldn't catch any fish all week but the walks n pub nearby made up for it.
The house was perfect for us-14 adults and 4 little ones. The kitchen worked very well as a brilliant space to cook and entertain.Having the beach beside the house was great-lots of swimming and kayaking. Highly recommended.
Excellent location. Truly lovely townhouse with every need catered for. Josephine could not have been more helpful. Cannot recommend this property highly enough.
We (6 people) had a very good time at this location. The house provides everything we needed for a good time, very clean and a lot of facilities which are better than other places we visited before. The pictures gave us helpful information of the house and we found everything like it shows there. The location is a good mixture of having a peaceful and relaxing stay with a short trip to Spiddal and good connection to Galway. The support during booking and on-site was excellent. All of us were happy to have chosen this place.
would recommend this lovely bungalow for families. Owners were helpful and location was good. Tiled floors noisy so would suggest some felt stickers under furniture!
The Tom Barry Courtyard apartment was clean and very comfortable for our stay. It's right in the heart of Clifden, making it easy to walk to restaurants, pubs, and shopping. I would stay there again next time I visit.
This was a lovely cottage - spacious, bright and perfect for a young family. Great garden too! The only two small negatives were that there was no gate at the entrance so we had to keep a really watchful eye on our 3 young children when they were in the garden in case they went near the busy main road. The kitchen would benefit from having more bowls/delph also as we kept running out of these, being a family of 5! All in all though, a lovely stay!
This is a beautiful property. So clean and comfortable ( and gorgeous fresh scones to greet you). The views from the property are breathtaking. Three very spacious bedrooms. In the bathroom a separate bath and shower and hot water all day long. The kitchen is very spacious and has all that you need for any baking requirements. Loads of space outside for the children to play or sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the view. the location is off the main road and you would need a car to stay in this property as it is between Barna and Spiddal. We stayed there for 2 nights with 3 older child...more
The perfect place to stay especially for older children with the freedom of wondering up to the village. Clifden quay is just gorgeous.
Can't wait to make another family vacation to Clifden. I will hopefully be able to book our trip based on the honey suckle lodge availability. It was a fabulous home away from home for our family. Warm and cozy and lots of space. Made our trip even more pleasant.
My family and I recently stayed town lane apt Tom Barry house in clifden. The apt had everything we needed, with added extras that gave that luxurious touch. It was modern, clean, lovely decor and colour scheme, had a coffee pod machine with coffee pods included, had Wi-Fi and Netflix (which was a huge added bonus). The most comfortable beds like sleeping in a 5 star hotel bed. It was our first trip away with our 6 month old and 7 year old all together, there was a high chair and travel cot with a very comfortable mattress for our new baby (which was so helpful nit having to bring our own) ...more
Excellent logement bien situé et comportant 2 étages complètement remis à neuf. Toutes les pièces sont bien équipées et spacieuses. Je recommande vivement
Comfortable house in a quiet strand road and with good outside (fenced) space. The kitchen is great and functional and the AGA adds warmth and cooking options. Plenty of kitchen utensils and complements. The living space is OK with sofas not very comfortable. Bedrooms are large with ensuite bathrooms and comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Power showers are OK. The day bed upstairs adds additional comfort to the house. Wi-fi and phone reception are excellent even though these were not the reasons we were holidaying in Connemara :-) Josephine did a great job cleaning the house and was ver...more
A quiet yet central location and well equipped apartment. Plenty of room for 4 people and we entertained 8 people for dinner with no problem.
So lucky to have found this wonderful, tranquil stone cottage right by the shore. It felt like we had our own private beach. We even got to watch dolphins playing in the bay. What an unbelievable treat. There was plenty of room for us (4 adults and 2 children). Clifden and all it's wonderful restaurants and bars was only a 10 minute drive away. If you like peace and solitude this is the rental for you. We hope to be back.
Luxurious home -- everything was perfect: comfy beds, lovely sheets, finest appliances, and stunning views in every direction. Deeply relaxing weekend: loved hearing the sheep on the hillsides, the sea in the distance. My children were in bliss with the zipline and trampoline, loft, and oodles of games and books. Cosy fireplace and lovely terrace. The kitchen was fully set up for everything we needed. My only request would be a bit more information left out for some of the basics -- like how to operate the TV/DVD (we couldn't), how to operate an Aga stove (I figured it out on youtube), ...more
It was a really nice spacious cottage in a great location. It was perfect for us and we couldn't have asked for much more.
This is a terrific house in a great spot. It's also dog friendly which made it ideal for us. The only thing to be aware of is that it sits at the top of a very steep hill.
Good location Grainne was very helpful House great Good video collection wifi excellent Beds comfortable
We loved the views and location of this cottage. Looking out the window was like being on a boat! Kathleen was away when we stayed but she communicated with us by phone and the whole family were very helpful while we stayed there. The cottage is a perfect size for a couple. The condition of the house is only OK, a bit musty. But if this doesn't bother you then it's worth it for the views! Having a car is essential, although we used a local taxi to bring us to and from Coyne's Pub and restaurant in Tully Cross (lovely pub!) and Veldon's Seafood restaurant in Letterfrack operate a courtesy bus, ...more
The White Thorn House was easy to find on the Bog Road outside Clifden. The accommodation was excellent and it was very good having two ensuite shower rooms ! Martin had kindly left a starting supply of milk, tea and shortbread -- thanks !! We didn't have any children with us but we were all parents and agreed that the upstairs room would have been brilliant to keep children happy. It was fun watching the cows wandering around outside and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed the patio with table and chairs . We would definitely visit the White Thorn House again.
Great location with beautiful walks. Very clean and comfortable house. Fits all requirements. Highly recommended.
The house is located between Clifden and Ballyconneely, right across the road from the sea. A lovely, spacious property which made our stay a lot more pleasant.
Spent a great week in the house. Stunning views. Children loved it. Most beautiful beaches nearby. Everything you need is in the house. Sitting in the sunroom is so relaxing looking out into the bog and lakes
An excellent property and base for a vacation - well fitted out to a high standard and close to all amenities and beaches.
My family (7 in total) stayed for 3 weeks in this charming apartment. Gerry lives nearby and was very attentive to our needs and getting us settled in. It is quite spacious and the outdoor deck was an added bonus for enjoying tea. We parked on the street and had very little problem finding a spot. The grocery shop across the street was very convenient and the entire town is just a very pleasant place. All of the treasures of Connemara are easy to get to in short day trips.
The house very spacious, clean and the amenites as listed in the desciption. Stunning view of the sea, close to Tullycross and the beaches. The updated kitchen is a a great place for meals with a large living rom with peat fires. The owner are very nice /attentive. even on check in-day there were fresh flowers and basket fruit.
Beds & curtains badly need replacing. Springs up through the bed & some broken boards in the beds. Bathrooms needed a good cleaning. Living area for a three bed apartment is very small. Great location. Laura who dealt with our booking & check in was excellent. Anything we asked for she provided.
Stayed here as a family of 4 for a week in July. Kids loved the activities available on-site - playing tennis and minigolf and spending time in the playground. The house is roomy enough and feels quite private. You can tell it's an older house, but still generally in good condition. We would happily rent it again when returning to the area.
Very nice Spacious house with nice en suite bathrooms and modern kitchen in quiet spot close to Clifden but a lot of little worms and a bit damp - WiFi a bit of an issue at first
will be going back next year for a longer break great stay and great area houses are hand walk in to town
We loved the place and felt very comfortable in that well equiped, beautiful house. Pat, thank‘s for all!
We had a very relaxing and chilled few days with the family. Plenty of space for everybody and we were blessed with the weather so we could take full advantage of the beautiful garden.
2 families stayed 7 nights. Beautiful peoperty with everything you could need. The propieter was very helpful when needed but be honest everything is at hand. excellent location 10 minutes walk to the village which is delightful. Only a 15 min drive to Clifden if you need other provisions. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful place, amazing views from the wonderful window s. Very clean and modern. My relatives from nearby cottages called it the “posh” cottage.
The cottage is really cosy and it was lovely to have a real fire to cuddle up to when it was raining. PTsy gave us such a warm welcome with tea, coffee and scones as we arrived after a long journey. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage itself was clean and very comfortable and in a brilliant location just a short walk from the sea. There is a handy bus that stops at the end of the road to go to Galway. Highly recommended!
Very enjoyable week, sadly we had rain every day, accommodation in a very convenient place. Walking distance to the town. Mary was very friendly
We are regular visitors to Connemara and have stayed in a number of self-catering properties - Wave Bay Cottage is by far the loveliest we've stayed in to date! Its a beautiful new house with top end furnishings. Its also in the most incredible location - I would recommend anyone staying here to bring binoculars to watch the seals and otters playing in the bay outside. The house was warm with wonderful underfloor heating and the showers excellent. Unfortunately the house hadn't been cleaned before our arrival - the beds appeared to have been changed but one had a large dirty mark on the sh...more
The house is really well equipped and Mary Mc Cann was most helpful. The local beaches are ideal for children. Clifden is close at hand and offers very good shopping and lots of restaurants to suit all pockets. While the weather was not great we had a mist memorable holiday
Fantastic Location and wonderful apartment. Accessible to all amenities, great view from balconies and kids loved it. Very comfortable and its great that we were able to bring our dog.
We loved our stay in Seamount. There was so much room in the house throughout but a highlight was the view from living area and bedrooms. Good for the soul aswell as the eye! Location was great. Short distance to Roundstone village and the many gorgeous beaches in the surrounding area. House is really comfortable, well equipped and surrounded by a lovely spacious garden .The kids loved exploring! Will definitely return. Sincere thanks to Martha for the warm welcome and for being such a kind host. Warmest regards!
Well appointed and had everything we needed. When we arrived it felt cold and musty as it hadn't been used for a few weeks but an hour's heating sorted that out. 2 tea towels for a group of 8 people not seen as sufficient. . Would book it again.
The family celebrated my mother's 90th birthday with a weekend stay in Murlach Lodge. It was a fantastic venue with plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to hang around in the house. Would recommend it for a family gathering!
We are very familiar with this wonderful part of Ireland having always holidayed here, this year we needed an extra cottage and so this one was the perfect choice selected based on location and access to the beach and this it fulfilled everything we needed. Thank you
Lucy was very accommodating on our arrival. It's the perfect spot to rent with a group of friends with Clifden and it's local amenities close by. Some nice beaches not too far away too. Great value for money, extremely spacious and comfy house.
Disappointed - the house is for sale and it’s obvious that the owner has stopped spending money on the house.... condition was poor... lock on house didn’t work, bins were full when we arrived, Friday bed sheets change was promised but didn’t happen... overall v disappointed for the money it cost. Won’t be going back
It was very good overall, I could have rated it excellent but the sound from the pressure pump upstairs was causing trouble. I hope the house owner will take care of it.
A peaceful location almost on the wild Atlantic ocean, Aillebrack no 3 is a super holiday destination. The house conservatory overlooks a small loch at the base of Doon Hill providing wonderful scenic views of the Connemara mountains. My wife & I have visited this small holiday complex for 20 years. Need I say more?
The attention and care from the staff at the station house from check in to check out was just exceptional. The apartment was more like a house than an apartment there was one bedroom downstairs and two located upstairs. It was very spacious and safe, I've a 14 month old who was in her element exploring the place. Would highly recommend this great for families
Glenbricken is superbly located 5 km from Clifden, overlooking a wonderful landscape of pastures, lakes and mountains. The owners are welcoming and always willing to help. The kitchen might have some more appliances, cutlery and the like to make it perfect.
Stayed for 1 week with family and friends. Kids had a great time... Facilities basic but all room nice and we didnt want for anything.... , rooms and living/kitchen areas nice...small cooking area off kitchen but not a problem for cooking for 12 . House is on a lovely quiet country lane surrounded by farms and stoned walled fields..Picturesque lake views of lough mask are only at end of the lane with historic ruins of Balimaine Abbey... (10 to 15 min walk or 3 min in car). Shore fly fishing here not great, but boats and guides readily available locally. Cong river and lough corrib also...more
We had a lovely time and the house was great. The boys loved to play football and the adults enjoyed the walks. It was very good to find milk, tea and brown bread plus cleaning items when we arrived.
House need a good clean, furniture dated, kitchen fine but needs a good clean, main bathroom nice but on suite off main bed room needs updating and a good shower put in. We put our own touches on the house for the week and had a lovely time
A very comfortable cottage with everything we needed with a fantastic view/location. Plenty of homely touches. Good WiFi. Well stocked.
Great spot to stay. Very accessible to Clifden, Roundstone area yet far enough away to be restful. Scenery from front of cottage fabulous. Kitchen well equipped and clean. 2nd bedroom a little musty, bed not very comfy, but it is an old cottage. Plenty of space outside for children to play. Nice patio area with sunny aspect, if the weather is good. Would return.
Thanks for a lovely stay at your apartment. Clifden is a great place to use as a base to visit the area!
The flat is spacy, parking is comfortable. Kitchen: The devices are old, the freeze part of the fritch was full of ice, the hood was broken, not enough tools; the quality of the tools was poor. Cleanliness: Was ok, just a thick layer of dust was on the heating devices.
Really enjoyed our stay convenience to town a bonus! .We celebrated a family birthday and house layout for same was very sociable. we hope to return another time as Cliften never dissappoints their visitors.
The property is in a great position for views and close to the town. The house has everything you need but could do with a deep clean as quite dusty and alot of cobwebs. A few pieces of furniture were broken and should be fixed as were abit hazardous ie coffee table in lounge and window sill in bedroom. These were minor things and I would definitely book again. Paul very helpful.
The house is is a beautiful remote location but close enough to small shops and amenities. Rooms are all large and very comfortable. Great kitchen, all you need, great fireplaces that use turf. We understand it is remote but there is no wifi and the option to use the payable dongle is not great. It took 20euro and within 1 hour of very light browsing the 20euro ran out. Don't waste your money on the dongle. Go to the cafe instead. The hosts are excellent. We had a great holiday. We would love to come back,
The house is very nice but we have some points: i.e. There is no toilet for general use and maybe some nice chairs for outside would be nice.
We studied the reviews on Cleggan Beach house before we booked last January. Reviews were not great and we decided to go ahead with the booking due to the location. Reality was worse than expected when we arrived. It was not very clean and house was very dated / of poor function. Following problems: Fire alarms not working. These are dirt cheap and one new set per season wouldn't even cost €40 or at least change the batteries). Roller blinds not working in many rooms and chord not attached to the wall (They would be better off taking the blinds away completely). Hot water far too hot ...more
Beautiful and spacious well equipped house. Plenty of cooking utensils and great range oven to use if you want to eat in but really good eating places close by in Letterfrack and Tully Cross. Amazing views from the house and good amount of parking. Just a ten minute walk into Letterfrack but may need a torch for coming back in the dark.
