We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hazelnut Cottage at Heath Farm Cottages for a family wedding weekend and my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the location, set up and our Hazelnut Cottage. The cottage had character, was clean and provided very good accommodation for what we needed and was a pleasure to stay in. The Farm property and surrounds were picturesque, peaceful and a joy to wonder through. The facility seemed to work extremely well for the wedding and the Farm hosts were very helpful and friendly. We would certainly recommend this Cottage and Farm facility to others, whether for a short stay or a celebratory function for family and/or friends.

First time of staying at Heath Farm Holiday Cottages and certainly plan to return for another stay there. The location is so central to other places we wished to visit, our holiday cottage, Hazelnut, was absolutely perfect, providing everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and on an absolutely fantastic estate providing numerous facilities for all, couples as well as families. Our hosts were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive and were on hand to answer any queries we had. Goes without saying really that Heath Farm Cottages provided us with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing time surrounded by beautiful countryside. Many thanks for a truly memorable time.

The cottage was cozy and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. The terrace and pond just outside was an absolute delight with beautiful roses in bloom. It is in full sun so can get quite hot in the cottage when it is warm but a fan was provided. The farm property was fun to explore, and the games are a great option if you want to relax at the farm.

We came here for a few days on our own after our wedding and I'm so glad we chose this place. The farm is so beautiful and you can just wonder where ever you want to. We went fishing and played games on the lawn and was really able to relax. My fave was watching the sunset by the firepit. Mon and the family are delightful and very welcoming and the cottage itself was really warm and homely and the added extras were the icing on the cake. I can't wait to return with our children.

We enjoyed a relaxing 4-night stay in cosy Hazelnut cottage, which is set in a beautiful courtyard setting. The welcome granola, milk, cake and bread baked at Heath Farm was a lovely gesture. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need, including cling film, foil etc. There is an unlimited supply of logs for the log burner, which we lit for the atmosphere as the cottage heating was more than adequate. The whole cottage was spotlessly clean with a very comfy bed, plenty of storage in the handmade wardrobes with the en-suite cleverly hidden behind the middle door. There are lovely walks around the farmland, woodland, and even a trout pond for fishing! Heath Farm is in a superb location for visiting the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. We hope to be back soon!

We stayed in Hazelnut and couldn't be happier - From the milk and cake waiting for us to the extraordinarily comfortable beds, we felt spoiled in the best of ways. There was an unlimited supply of firewood so we were able to keep cozy and warm. They even had it prepped so all we had to do was light a match. The grounds are picturesque. It felt like we were in a painting overlooking the goat-speckled hill. The sounds of the nearby woods and winds across the grass were grounding and peaceful. We enjoyed a walk through the woods. It was Autumn so we watched pretty yellow leaves sprinkling down like gentle rain. The kitchen had everything we needed and was perfect. The couch - comfy and relaxing. The bed - I slept 11 hours and I don't usually sleep well. I just kept going back to it and sleeping. We nearly cancelled all our plans we had prepaid to just stay there but we pried ourselves out. Like other reviewers, we wish we had booked it for longer. The pond is nice and had fishing poles there. I caught and released a good-sized trout - sooo fun! The staff and people working on the property were all very friendly and helpful. One recommendation, if you get there after dark you can find the parking area but then finding the cottage is a little confusing. I may have missed some directions that were emailed though. It is nice and dark out there so you can see the stars very clearly when there are no clouds. The darkness is wonderful for sleep but n Tot easy if you get there after the sun goes down. The host was immediately responsive and helpful when I messaged that we were lost on the property. After we found the place the first time, we had no other struggles. I would recommend looking at it from Google Earth before going so you don't do like we did. This is a must-stay location and I travel all over the world in a variety of different venues. This was one of my favorites for the tranquility, comfort, thoughtfulness, kindness, and beauty. Oh, you can also order more cakes from them and arrange in advance for meals, groceries or other things for an extra cost. We wish we had taken advantage of that opportunity. Book now if you're even considering it!

Wow! From the time we arrived until our departure we were welcomed as guests. The owners chatted with us as we came and went.
When we woke up each day we would check out the back window to see what the sheep were doing. It was a perfect place to relax. The unit had everything we needed during our stay.

We had a 3 night stay in Hazelnut Cottage and it was just perfect. As you approach the farm house you do need to pass through a small commercial site but don't let this put you off, the house itself and the cottages are very much secluded. The view from the main shared patio and through the cottages at the rear is lovely. The owners are very welcoming and explained everything that you would need to know. The cottage itself is very well appointed, and the fit and finish is great. You are well situated for walking (several walks within the farm itself) or driving out to explore the Cotswolds, can't see anything not to like. We've visited the Cotswolds on many occasions and have found the perfect base fore us. I'd definitely return.

We were at Heath Farm for about five days - my partner, me and our baby. The environment was outstanding, the area was beautiful and calming. Now we're a bit quieter we're doing some essential maintenance and improvements to Hazelnut cottage. We wanted something quiet and relaxing with walking nearby and a fireplace to unwind by in the evenings. And that is exactly what we got at Hazelnut. The kitchen is fully equipped with just about everything you need if you are self catering. The bed is really comfy; there was as much firewood as we wanted. The views from the cottage and the courtyard are stunning. We were made to feel very welcome. The walks around Heath Farm are well worth taking and it is possible to walk to The Boxing Hare through the woods and footpaths, without going on the main road. I'd definitely recommend the Falkland Arms in Great Tew. It's a properly unspoiled historic pub, serving great food and real beer and the village is stunning. The whole set up at Heath Farm is really impressive. Although we didn't make use of it, I imagine it is a perfect place to bring family groups as so much is provided to keep young people entertained. We will definitely be back at some point. Thanks so much to the Barbour Family for our welcome.

My husband and I had an amazing and very relaxing weekend staying at Hazelnut cottage.
So much care and attention to detail has gone into designing the space, the beautiful courtyard has a distinctly Spanish feel (reflecting Nena's roots - we had a couple of lovely chats with Nena during our stay, she is so personable and friendly).
Walking around the delightful and very peaceful grounds was very therapeutic and a much needed 'reset'.
We would thoroughly recommend Heath Farm cottages to anyone!

This was our third trip to the incredible and quintessential Cotswolds Heath Farm cottages. I adore everything about this place from the beautiful and accessible farmland to the orchards and woods- all of which are a world away from my city home. Every season offers it’s own unique experience in this place.
Previously having stayed in the much larger Walnut cottage, we were still wowed by Hazelnut cottage which is apparently the smallest of the cottages. It had so much charm and character and is perfect for a couple. I can’t begin to explain how cosy the cottages are when you have the wood fire burning away and a homemade fruit crumble coming out of the oven.
The cottages are exceptionally clean and offer all the facilities you would expect of a modern rental but without losing any of their old world charm. Despite being around a central courtyard, they also feel private.
We foraged for some of our food and we’re able to get crayfish from the lake, blackberries from the hedgerows and some apples and pears from the orchard. A unique and fun experience for us.
My only minor feedback would be to add some curtains or panels to the smaller windows in Hazelnut as it is bright in the morning and to get the bikes into better working order. But of course this will not stop me from returning again or recommending your wonderful farm to my family and friends.

You seem to have succinctly relayed the pure essence of Heath Farm in but a few sentences. We do say "an idyllic retreat in any season" but it's much better to hear it from our loving and loyal guests who do return each season.
Many thanks for the constructive comment about the small window in the bedroom. We will certainly pursue putting in a wooden shutter or blind to reduce light in the morning. All other curtains have blackout blinds integrated into them so it makes sense to do as you suggest.

Before we even reached our Hazelnut Cottage, my daughter and I had decided to stay the entire next day on premises. The central fountain in the courtyard and profusion of flowers were peaceful perfection. The cottage itself was well outfitted to meet our cooking needs, which came in handy when it came time to cook up the fat trout I caught in the refreshing pond. Recreation abounds with lots of walking trails through the property, indoor and outdoor games to keep any age occupied. I hope to return!

In one word: stunning! A really lovely en pittoresque accommodation. Heath Farm itself is stunning, with a garden, pond and a meadow with sheep and goat. My partner and I stayed at the Hazelnut for 3 nights, as soon as we arrived to the cottage we knew it would be fabulous. It was warm, clean, tidy and smelled wonderful. We had a cake and a loaf of bread waiting, firewood available, easy parking, and the views from the fire pit area into the paddock were gorgeous. We really enjoyed walking around the grounds, playing some of the games, relaxing in the cottage itself and also the selection of local pubs for food were great as well. Not too far from Chipping Norton for a bit of essential shopping and even a visit to the Diddly Squat Farm Shop if you're a fan of Clarkson & Kaleb. We would definitely recommend this for a short break - the people in the cottage next to ours we're staying in theirs for 7 weeks, though, so I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy it as a home-from-home for a longer time too!

Everything was great apart from having to keep the top of the loo off permanently to be able to flush it (needs sorting) and on the last evening there was smoke in the living room from the fire which set the alarm off. Not sure if the chimney needs sweeping or if it was something else but was no windier than other nights so assuming it wasn’t that.
We loved the log fire and waking up to snow was a bonus as we rarely get snow were we are. Such a peaceful location with lots of nice pubs and places to walk nearby.

We're really sorry about the issues you encountered. We've contacted a plumber to come over to replace the mechanism for the toilet in Hazelnut which obviously deteriorated whilst you were here.
Ironically the chimney is actually being swept today as part of the annual maintenance. Occasionally a change of direction of the wind can affect the chimneys but only when there's high winds. We'll monitor it after it's been swept to make sure the issue has been resolved.
Apologies you felt the cottage wasn't good value for money, our prices are based on a percentage of our weekly price so it is better value for money the longer you stay. We do also offer loyalty discounts for returning guests.

Although all the steps surrounding the property made life difficult for my blind husband and my arthritic hip we were so pleased with everything about Heath Farm Cottages that we have booked again for next year.
Hazelnut was equipped with everything we needed and more.. The bed was very comfortable, as was the settee.
The general ambiance was restful and we felt better after our stay.
( The grab bar by the bath would be more useful if it was on the wall at the other end of the bath)

The cottages at Heath Farm are an ideal place to stay for some peaceful R&R in the heart of the Cotswolds. These charming cottages (prettily decorated and well equipped for self catering) are surrounded by gorgeous gardens and acres of meadows and forests for gentle strolls or longer walks with wonderful views over the Cotswold countryside. It makes for a great base to explore all that this popular area of England has to offer for a relaxing and interesting staycation. We very much enjoyed our stay. Hazelnut cottage was charming: comfortable, well-equipped and lovely features such as windows overlooking the sheep/pond and beautiful woodwork and beams. The cake on arrival (choice of flavours in advance) was a nice touch. The family were welcoming and on hand should we have needed any help (which we did not). The immediate outdoor area is lovely, with a water feature and outside tables. One is free to wander the farmland and we did a walk though the various woods and along the boundary.
There is excellent information on the website about the surrounding area and one is well-placed for exploring the Cotswolds. We had an evening meal in one of the nearby pubs, the Boxing Hare, on the heated terrace (only external eating out allowed at the time we were there) and were so impressed we returned the following evening.
All in all a relaxing break and and we would hope to come back.

We booked 2 cottages in December so that we could meet our daughter's family safely outdoors. The cottages were situated very conveniently to each other on opposite sided of a pretty courtyard. The setting of the cottages is absolutely magical, especially on frosty foggy winter days. Hazlenut cottage was covid friendly and was very warm, comfortable and cosy, enhanced by the log burner in the sitting room.The kitchen and bathroom were both clean and well supplied with environmentally friendly toiletries and cleaning products. The owners were friendly and easily contactable but were happy to leave us alone.
The best features of these cottages are that they are surrounded by acres of fields and woodlands, accessible to everyone.They are in a brilliant location for exploring the prettiness of the surrounding Cotswolds.

Had a wonderful week away. The cottage was beautiful, clean and very well equipped. The limitless supply of wood for the fire was a welcome bonus on the colder evenings.
The walks around the farm and woods were beautiful with the autumn colours.
The bathroom could do with a upgrade but that said was clean, functional and had plenty of hot water. We would love to return in the near future.

We stayed in this beautiful cottage and can thoroughly recommend. It has everything you need and beyond for a relaxing stay in wonderful surroundings. The owners have tried to think of everything that you need and should be very proud of their cottages. There are plenty of walks in the surrounding countryside to relax and enjoy the glorious views.

What a deep, quiet joy to be back at Heath Farm. Especially in 2020 when there have been many difficult or disappointing times. As always, easy to book, warm welcome and every attention to generous detail much and discreetly in evidence.
Perfect location for a restful stay with beautiful walks, places to be still and opportunities to sit under the stars by the roaring chimenea before snuggling into the comfiest bed for a refreshing sleep.
The physical layout of Heath Farm made it possible to holiday nearby but not with people we love which was a massive bonus.
Luxury is in abundance without waste or ostentatiousness. We love the commitment to the environment and care for the earth at Heath Farm. Even without the discount for returnees, we would be back.

We had a great time staying at Heath Farm. It is a great environment to just relax and enjoy the simple things in life like taking a hike or drink ing a glass of whine at the fireplace. It's a nice location from which you can explore the Cotswalds from. We will definitely be back!

A couple + baby, we had a delight staying at the farm. The cottage itself is warm and nice, contains all that’s needed - we baked and cooked and had lots of fun. The surroundings of the farm was also very beautiful, our baby daughter enjoyed the sheep and the geese so much

An excellent time was had by all (this review covers Hazelnut and Beechnut). Beautiful location and the owners have made the best out of the location. excellent, well designed and maintained cottages. Well equipped , comfortable, and any problems just talk to the owners on site. Slight problem with transferring luggage and parking when fully booked. But just talk to the owners.
Well positioned for Oxford - try the Park and Ride. Very well positioned for Chipping Norton which has a Sainsburys. an excellent Co-Op, and just out of town an excellent (and very well supported) Aldi. All in easy reach. Free parking in Chipping Norton which also has a very good department store, Beales. God restaurants/pubs around if a tad expensive.
As to my Swallows and Amazon reference. the owners have made the most of the surrounding 70 acres with 'on site' walks. lovely forest, archery, football goals, trampoline. All designed for the kids (and the occasional adult) Perfect for all ages but around 10 excellent.

Ideal location, quiet, lots of parking. the hazelnut has all you need for a happy holiday, the welcome gifts of cut flowers and locally made cake only add to the experience.
A walk around the farm is a joy with the animals, orchards, fields, woodlands, vegetable and flower gardens.

All the beds have new pocket sprung mattresses and new smart T.V's and DAB Roberts Radios were recently added. We will give the cottage a thorough inspection and see if there are any repairs or other renewals required.

Beautiful location and lots to do. Walked around the farm which took about an hour. Visited Hidcote gardens and other NT properties which are all nearby. We love the attention to detail and the little extras and there is always a warm welcome.

My wife and I are from Berlin, so going on vacation is sometimes more about quietness than anything else. And with Heath Farms we found a spot that was incredibly quiet with brilliant views and one of the cleanest locations I have ever stayed at. While I believe the other rooms to be occupied during our stay, it would impossible to say for sure as the design (beautifully landscaped courtyard) made us feel like we were all alone and the room itself was warm and comfortable. My wife and I both thought that we should tack on an additional week just to sit by the beautiful fire (free firewood is so amazing) and read and drink some wine. I couldn't recommend this location enough!

We're sorry that we didn't mark top for service, condition, location or value for money and would like to make sure that if you do visit us again we have made all necessary improvements.
We welcome all guests personally and stress that if there are any issues (or anything needed) to let us know straight away so that we can try to resolve them as they arise.
With regard to comfort/condition, we have very recently replaced the mattress (pocket sprung orthopedic) and bedding plus some soft furnishings. Inventory items are checked each changeover to make sure everything is clean and in top working condition or they are replaced. We are just about to replace TV & stereo for newer/better versions.
It was a real shame that you left so early on Saturday morning due to weather conditions as even with fresh snowfall the farm is accessible and is an absolute idyllic delight to explore, it shows off the beauty of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and why it's such a desirable location of the rich and famous to live.
Apologies you didn't find us good value for money. We did offer you a free night on your next stay to make up for your short visit this time around due to your concerns about the weather (our other guests managed to visit Stow on the Wold, Chipping Norton and Burford that afternoon), I do believe we also changed your accommodation dates at your request at short notice (against our official policy). We may not be the cheapest around but we do like to think we go the extra mile in order to add value to our guests experience with us.

This was the most wonderful location in which to have a few quiet days away. The accommodation is excellent, with a beautiful open fire that we sat in front of drinking wine and reading books. Local restaurants are a short drive away and offer excellent choices and value for money. Local shops - especially the Farmer's market in Deddington - provided us with a lovely homecooked meal on the Saturday night utilizing the very well provisioned kitchen. I would recommend this location for anyone at anytime of the year as I can imagine during the summer that lazy BBQs and outside eating would be brilliant.

We do hope you back and stay with us again. It is great in any season but lazy hot days out in the courtyard with the BBQ, swinging in a hammock in the beech trees or a picnic in the meadow with the hamper supplied is my favorite!

We're just starting our annual renewals and maintenance after a very busy summer so we hope we make all necessary improvements and additions we can. We are replacing the mattress, kitchen sink and TV & stereo this month plus are improving the lighting. All floors have been re-waxed, fireplace re-pointed and a super deep clean of the cottage has been carried out. The exterior has been sanded and re-coated in Danish oil too this week. Hazelnut is one of the beautiful, individually crafted holiday cottages at Heath Farm. They’re all different and incredibly comfortable. I love the courtyard with its scented flowers, sound of babbling water and views of the meadow. Hazelnut is great for one or two people; really well equipped and thoughtful touches like the Cotswolds Bakery cake to welcome you. It’s a special place to visit with great owners, and perfectly placed for visiting Cotswolds, Oxford, Stratford ... or just relaxing.

Hazelnut has been a familiar place for years for us.
As idyllic as staying. We adore the atmosphere, love the story behind the nuts trees on the farmland, we enjoy the comfort and celebrate our evening as we follow the sunset, in the arch while the sheep and goats enjoying their diner on the paddock.
So much viewing pleasures, the plants, the flowers, the pond in the garden with the water lilies, or to stretch legs in a walk. Variety enough on and off the farmland. And last but not least very warm and friendly owners who make this all possible. We prefer not to tell it any further.

We had a very enjoyable time at Hazelnut cottage in June this year. The location was stunning and we enjoyed walking in the extensive grounds. The cottage had everything in the way of home comforts and was very well equipped. We were lucky with great weather so we’re able to eat outside most days. David, Nina and Mon were brilliant hosts and went the extra mile giving my husband a lovely bottle of fizz and freshly picked strawberries for his birthday - so thoughtful!
Will definately return for another visit as soon as possible.

Heath farm is everything you'd expect and more it is ideal and pure heaven on earth. I loved my stay at Heath Farm it was better than I'd image. The staff was very friendly and made me feel like family and like I belonged and mattered. I will remember my time at Heath Farms for the rest of my life I pray to visit sooner. This was my 30th birthday treat too myself something I'd dreamed of doing and finally done it. The staff went out of their way to educate me on the surrounding areas and places I needed to go they couldn't have been more right.. whether you're first time in England or many times you must visit Heath Farm it's unlike any resort hotel you've stayed at many thanks and lots of love
