Sleeping six, the Workshop is a beautifully converted barn in an 18th century agricultural stone courtyard. The Workshop has a twin room with en suite shower room downstairs and a double room, a twin room and a family bathroom upstairs. Complementing this is a large lounge with a log burning stove, comfy seating, TV, and stereo and a hand made wooden kitchen with a large dining table seating eight people. Surrounded by fields and our own flower meadows which you are free to wander, wooded areas and a courtyard garden. The cottage has views to the sea and St. David's Head. Footpaths lead from the cottage, where you can gain access to the Pembrokeshire Coastal footpath.

The Green Credentials are a credit to the owners.

We've been coming to Stones Cottages for years now, with family groups of various sizes. Everything is so thoughtfully done and in tune with nature - it's the perfect place to unwind. We love being out and about on the beaches and the coastal path or down at the Mill for breakfast, but it is always lovely to just chill out at the cottages and soak up the surroundings. Dan, Shani and their family are so warm and welcoming, it really does feel like home-from-home.

We loved the peace and quiet of the cottage which is located a short distance from the coast near Strumble Head. Loads of opportunities for outdoor activities; our group cycled, walked lots of the coast path, used our SUP and swam! We regretted not bringing our kayak as there's lots of sheltered bays and interesting coastline to explore. Our dogs loved the enclosed fields which adjoin the property and of course, the beaches and local walks. Note that the door opens onto a garden area that is not enclosed and sheep are nearby so worth bearing in mind.
The cottage was cosy and there was ample hot water. We missed a few things in the kitchen but we are keen cooks.
Dan and Shani are excellent hosts.
We brought 2 electric cars in our group and loved that we could recharge very reasonably at the house. Also loved all the little eco touches - cleaning products and toiletries and good recycling - as this is important to us.

Second time in Workshop, fourth stay with Stones Cottages. Workshop is a home from home, with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. It easily fits a family of four with space left to swing a few cats, is warm and well spec'd. Dan and Shani are excellent hosts, there is no end to what they'll do to make you happy. The location is quiet and removed from hustle and bustle whilst only being a stones throw from town. A brilliant base to explore Pembrokeshire.

Very spacious and comfortable cottage. We loved the surrounding wildlife meadows, pond and enjoyed short walks to the coastal path with our dog. The owners, Dan and Shani, were very helpful and welcoming. Good area to explore with the highlight being the Pembrokeshire coastal path and all the scenery. Fishguard is a lovely, relaxing town.

Everything in the cottage and nearby was very satisfactory, and it was helpful that there were so many items of information about about places to go to and things to do.

The journey from Gooodwick to the houses was a bit of a strain, but what else should we have expected given the many hills in Pembrokeshire?

Best wishes, Janet

The atmosphere of this property is absolutely wonderful - a magical location & lovely hosts.
The view down the coast to Carn Llidi at St David's is stunning. The wild flower meadows & pond on the property were beautiful & a wildlife enthusiasts paradise.
I usually prefer complete privacy but actually enjoyed having a shared outside garden area & facilities, as it enabled some lovely conversations with both the hosts & guests in the other 2 cottages. You might want to bear this in mind if you have a dog as it will need to be kept on a lead when you use this garden area, to protect the resident chickens & cat.
The environmental credentials of this property are the best that I have ever encountered & very inspiring from generous provision of toiletries to excellent recycling.
My only (minor) criticisms are that I found the mattresses uncomfortable (I have back trouble) but my husband was fine, I'd love a Tog 4.5 duvet or sheet & thin blanket as it was sweltering with Tog 10 & a heatwave and the fridge would be too small if 6 people were staying at the cottage & wanting to do mostly self-catering. None of these minor issues would prevent me booking again or highly recommending the property.

We had the most wonderful family holiday in Sunset and Workshop Cottages. All our children, their partners and our grandchildren came, as did one of the other grandfathers. It is the most beautiful place, the cottages are comfortable with glorious views (the view from the window behind the sink makes washing up a joy); the courtyard is delightful and the chickens wander about. Our four-year-old grandson was thrilled with the toys and books on the landing (especially the Brio train track in the stool). He also enjoyed scooting about on his balance bike, which he could do safely because the cottages are so far off the public road. Dan and Shani are lovely: welcoming, friendly and so helpful.

Some of the mattresses are a bit tired, and I was aware that when our babies become toddlers, the crockery and glasses on low open shelves in the kitchen may well pose a logistical challenge, given the ceramic tiled floor.

There is truly something for everyone in North Pembrokeshire: beaches, birdwatching, good walking and running (not just the coastal path), boat trips, good food shopping in Fishguard (including a sensational bakery called Nourish).

We will most certainly be back!

Initially attracted by the electric car charging point but very impressed with the quality of the cottages. Although February and very cold at times, the cottage was always warm and the log burner gave an additional warm feeling each evening. Shopping was easy in Goodwick and Fishguard; lots of places to visit (we had a great day in St.Davids); good restaurants (we were recommended The Shed Bistro at Porthgain and it was very good indeed); excellent area for walks (long and short); and the cottage had everything we needed. We intend to visit again in the early summer and hope to see all the wild flowers.

We had a fantastic family holiday at Stones Cottages at the end of the Summer holidays. We stayed in the Workshop which was a good size for the five of us and ‘Woody’ our dog. It’s set in a lovely location with walks on your doorstep and great as a base for exploring the lovely beaches of Pembrokeshire. The accommodation is simple but has everything you need and we enjoyed making the use of the log burner to give that cosy feel. Dan and Shani are great hosts, nice and laid back but on hand if you need assistance or some recommendations about the local area etc. Would thoroughly recommend.

We've just returned from 2 wonderful weeks in Workshop Cottage. The peaceful location is perfect for complete relaxation and unwinding. Beautiful coastal views from the kitchen and all 3 bedrooms. Fantastic walking from the cottage, either on the private fields or directly from the cottage on footpaths, bridle tracks and green lanes. The coast path is within easy walking distance and Strumble Head lighthouse and Abermawr and Aberbach beaches are a very short drive (or somewhat longer walk) away. We didn’t need to venture further than these for a pretty much perfect holiday although there's plenty more to do in the area if you're more adventurous.
Thank you, Shani and Dan, for being so welcoming and friendly. We would love to return.

We have stayed at Stones cottages many times before and love the location, the green ethos of the whole place and the family who run it.

This is the first time we have stayed at the Workshop and because of Covid concerns the little extras that are normally provided, such as tea/coffee/ hand etc. were missing which we recognise are safety precautions. They have taken so much trouble to make us feel safe staying there.
Our week away here was a wonderful break after lockdown and has energised us to face the oncoming winter which maybe one of discontent!

Many thanks once again to you all.

We have been coming here for 13 years and will continue to come back to reconnect with the ancient land of Pembrokeshire and the warm, welcoming community at Llandruidion to restore our energy and love of the world. The converted barns combine cosy comfort with spaciousness, light and simple unfussy interiors. The views are spectacular, the walks along the coastal paths are meditative and offer a satisfying work-out. A great place to base yourself to visit a range of lovely places - Dyffryn Fernant and St Davids are both a must. Or simply to settle down by the wood burning stove and read, write, dream and regenerate.

My boyfriend quoted that this was the BEST family holiday he has ever had. Where do we start! The hosts were lovely; Halloween was magical with them bringing home-made toffee apples and biscuits to our children. The cottage had everything we needed with the play area upstairs, books and a dolls house.
The location was perfect, quiet and felt like home. Our nearly 3 year old said she did not want to leave. It was neat to the pebbled beach where we went most days.
We will be going back definitely! Thank you Dan and Shani for your beautiful home! It really did feel like home x

The workshop at Stones Cottages is a superb cottage based in rural Pembrokeshire. The owners give access to a number of fields fór walking in and there is also good walking from the cottage.

The cottage is well equipped and provides a peaceful setting. The downstairs twin bedroom with it's own ensuite was ideal for our son who is a wheelchair user and the owners kindly provided a shower chair for his use during the stay.

There is one step on the ground floor but this was easily negotiated. Paths outside were gravel/slate but again were relatively easily negotiated

The cottage owners are keen on sustainability and guests are encouraged to recycle extensively. We found this inspirational and intend to make changes at home as a result.

The experience was restful and peaceful and we are likely to return.

Lovers of technology should note that phone signal is relatively poor within the cottage due to thick stone walls but there was good signal outside. Internet was of good quality but as the owners admit, could drop out occasionally.

Overall a super cottage and thoughtful touches such as some welcoming wine and home made flapjacks were really appreciated.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and spacious. It was light and airy, had a calming feel about it, and was a very homely place to return to at the end of the day. The cottages are in a tranquil location, with views of the coastline, set around a courtyard and surrounded by fields that are teaming with wildlife. Our hosts Dan and Shani are lovely people who were always on hand when needed to answer our questions. Overall, we felt very lucky to have discovered Stones Cottages and we had a tough time tearing ourselves away at the end of the week!

An amazing week with a group of family taking over all the cottages. Our hosts were great as always and we got to share our favourite places and walks with extended family. Thanks again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this well-equipped cottage. There is lots of space and it was very clean, and we really appreciated the wine and flapjacks on arrival! The owners live on the same site and were very helpful with ideas of things to do, and the area was great for a range of activities including beaches, gardens, walks, kids activities and boat trips. We would definitely recommend staying here if you want to visit Pembrokeshire.

We absolutely love staying at Stones Holiday Cottages, our favourite in Pembrokeshire. All the cottages are gorgeous but Workshop is perfect for a larger family group. Dan and Shani are very accomodating, nothing is too much trouble! Cant wait till next time!

We loved staying in the workshop. Wonderful space, wood burner, play area for kids and beautiful surrounding. Close to some beautiful beaches and villages. We will definitely be back for more exploring.
