The River Waveney marks the border between Norfolk and Suffolk and Mendham Mill sits astride the river, surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful water meadows. Four award-winning cottages which include the stunning Georgian Miller’s House have been created from houses, a granary, and other estate buildings. The owners are on hand assisting visitors who wish to fish or make use of the canoes or rowing boat in the sparkling private waters of the river. With places like Southwold, Aldeburgh and Norwich all within easy reach Mendham Mill is ideally located.
We had a relaxing week at North Meadow Cottage. The property is in a rural setting with beautiful views of the countryside. The cottage is well equipped and comfortably furnished and it has a private garden. There is access to communal gardens with opportunities to fish. There is a pub in the village which does evening meals to save cooking. Nick and James were friendly and helpful during the booking process and our stay.
Had an excellent week in Mill Race welcomed by the helpful and knowledgeable hosts Nick and James. visited the local area and pubs as suggested in the information pack.
Also spent a few hours over the week fishing in rear garden along with other areas in the grounds.
All in all a very enjoyable week which I am sure will be repeated and can be recommended
The Nest is very roomy and well set up for a one bedroom holiday property. We enjoyed the extensive and beautiful grounds. Several footpaths lead from Mendham Mill for exploring the Waveney Valley. We made good use of the 1:25000 OS map provided in The Nest. The Wi-Fi was a helpful bonus. A peaceful and relaxing place to stay.
