Wow, wow, wow. We arrived at the property after having taken a small accidental detour to the other Blarghour Farm properties: Barn and Stable so followed Catriona back to Barr-beithe Upper. The first thing we noticed after entering the house is the view to Loch Awe, it is breathtaking and we never tired of it during our stay. The weather was very kind and many afternoons and evenings were spent just sat in the garden, enjoying the view whilst watching the wildlife. It’s an absolute haven for birds and three pine martens enjoyed the bird food that we’d put out, such the funniest little things...more
Great location . Catriona brilliant . Red Squirrels every day . Sheep and lambs in abundance . Property perfect for a couple . Not a lot more to say apart from pity had to leave, Would recommend this property without any hesitation.
We had a really enjoyable stay in Barr-beithe Lower cottage. It was like a home from home with a very well equipped kitchen, super comfy bed and fantastic shower. The view towards the Loch was amazing. Catriona was very helpful in suggesting places to visit and there are plenty of maps/leaflets to look through in the cottage. Whilst the cottage was a 20 minute drive down a single track lane plenty of passing places!) it was an excellent base for us to explore the area. Thank you Catriona for a lovely stay Pam and Paul
The Stables has breathtaking views across Loch Awe and is located in an area where the scenery is beautiful wherever you go The house is very spacious and clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay There are lots of walking trails all around the loch The rustic cafe at Dalavich followed by the way marked walk to Avich Falls was brilliant We’d also recommend Ardiuane gardens and a meal at the fabulous restaurant at Loch Melfort next door Both with amazing views
