Creel cottage,Dairy House, The Old Cheeseloft and Byre by the Sea, coastal self catering holiday cottages , pet friendly and situated on the coast with uninterrupted views out across the Ross Bay, in the beautiful Stewartry District of South West Scotland. Sited on the picturesque Solway Coast. The sea is only a stones throw from the cottage! Location, location, location……when you want to get away from it all!
We were privileged to be the first guests at Bay Cottage .It is a beautiful cottage, tastefully decorated with quality furniture and everything you require. As usual Sue and David’s hospitality was superb nothing is a bother. Homemade cake , ice cream and welcome packs for dogs as well as humans is a lovely touch. We have stayed in all the cottages and they are all furnished to a high standard and cleanliness. The scenery is breathtaking. We have already booked twice for next year. We can’t wait.
Another lovely holiday at The Old Cheeseloft. Sue has thought of everything you could possibly need and the cake and ice cream are delicious treats.
Fantastic views of the sea, deer and birds, spent a lot of time watching the tide coming in and going out, so relaxing.
Already booked for next year, can't wait
We have been coming to Ross Bay for over 11 years now and it doesn't lose its appeal. Gorgeous cottage with everything we need, comfy beds, super clean. Fantastic views, it's a wonderful relaxing place to be. Sue and David are great hosts, there if you need anything and always friendly. Welcome packs are great and the cake and ice cream are a lovely treat.
We wouldn't go anywhere else now.
The Dairy House is beautifully positioned if you are after a peaceful break away. The house is very comfortable, and the views out of the retreat room make it a great place to sit and read, or just watch the tide come in. It is tricky to get down on to the beach, and my wellies got stuck in the mud a couple of times - bear this in mind if you are planning daily strolls on a sandy beach! That said there are plenty of other places nearby to do this.
We had a couple of maintenance issues during our stay, but Sue was very quick to respond to our concerns.
Plenty of things to do in the area - we...more
Couldn’t have got a better location for what we wanted (fishing/walking/exploring local area)! Small but perfectly formed, The Retreataway was ideal for us with beautiful views and easy access to the surrounding area. We both slept soundly as it’s so peaceful and there was homemade cake and a tub of local ice cream left for us to enjoy… we would definitely stay again! Thank you ☺️
Overall very good cottage, excellent dog friendly garden.
Would benefit from blackout curtains in bedroom, garden umbrella and grab rail to ease getting out of bath
