As a child, I used to spend my Summer Holiday's here, at The Ross with my Aunt Maisie and Uncle Bob, who lived in the Dairy House. Sadly both passed away many year's ago, so, to be able to get to stay here once again was like a Dream Come True for me. My Fiancé Alastair, Our 13 year old Granddaughter Kalli and Our Labrador Luna booked into the Old CheeseLoft, (where I used to watch Uncle Bob and my Cousin Andy making huge amounts of the Best Farmhouse Cheddar you could wish to eat), which is now a Luxury 5 Person Holiday Cottage. This was our third stay at The Byre, still as lovely as the first. Our standards are high and it always meets them, we’ve never returned more than once to any holiday property- this in itself speaks volumes.
What a truly beautiful place to stay! Sue made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Dairy House is a true home from home. The welcome gluten free cake and ice cream was delicious, what a treat! The scenery and walks are magnificent, we were treated to a beautiful starry night on our last night and a stunningly red sun rise on our last morning. Can't wait till March 2025 when we are going back with our family staying at Dairy House and Creel Cottage. Thanks Sue
Once again we were welcomed to Ross Bay . A cake and ice cream provided by Sue in the fridge and freezer. As it was our 50th wedding anniversary Sue also gave us a lovely hamper. Nothing is a bother to our hosts. The cottage has everything you need and is lovely and cosy.The furniture very comfortable to sit and watch the waves and the wildlife. We had booked all four cottages for our family celebration and everyone had a great time. All cottages are well equipped decorated and furnished to a high standard.
Stunning location, very clean….. we arrived to a lovely home baked cake and biscuits….. Can’t express enough on how much of a relaxing location the Retreat is.
Must have stayed here five or six times now! Every time we feel so at home, and find new places to visit. Really can't recommend it enough. The village is picture perfect, peaceful and friendly. Have already booked for next year.
