This was our third year in a row at Ross Bay and our first time at ‘The Old Chesseloft’. Inside, it’s immaculately clean, very spacious and light. Very, very relaxing. Large sitting areas and a very spacious and extensively kitted out kitchen/dining area. Very comfortable bedrooms with plenty of storage space for clothing and always hot showers. Our bedroom was en-suite. Great for getting ready in the morning. Outside, there is a sizeable, enclosed back garden which was ideal for safely letting our dog out. Wow, what a location, wonderful views from Dairy House and the scenery around the wider area fantastic. The house itself had everything you needed and the comfortable beds had us sleeping like logs! The chocolate fudge cake and ice cream were delicious and waiting for us when we arrived. All in all, don’t think Sue could have done any more.
We were so lucky with the weather! The cottage situated in the middle of the bay gives a wonderful view to the Solway and Cumbrian fells. Sunrise is magical across the water, we could have ‘lived’ on the balcony, such peace! Which is what we wanted. I can no longer walk far, but the nearby little towns, different in character, have much to offer, shops galleries castles quaint corners and alleyways, then back to the ‘balcony’ , cosy cottage and the delicious home baked cream cake Sue welcomed us with.
Just returned from a weeks stay at this lovely retreat it was absolutely amazing.Bed was so comfy, everything was just perfect even the weather. Sue made a lovely lemon drizzle cake and ice cream in the freezer. Hope to return.
Blessed with great weather the cottage was perfect for the two of us and two dogs. Couldn’t fault the cleanliness, space of the cottage and long garden for the dogs. Situated in a quiet village but close enough to Helmsley for shopping etc. would certainly recommend the cottage and hope to stay again.
