As a child, I used to spend my Summer Holiday's here, at The Ross with my Aunt Maisie and Uncle Bob, who lived in the Dairy House. Sadly both passed away many year's ago, so, to be able to get to stay here once again was like a Dream Come True for me. My Fiancé Alastair, Our 13 year old Granddaughter Kalli and Our Labrador Luna booked into the Old CheeseLoft, (where I used to watch Uncle Bob and my Cousin Andy making huge amounts of the Best Farmhouse Cheddar you could wish to eat), which is now a Luxury 5 Person Holiday Cottage. I only wish we could've stayed far longer, as it was as Magical ...more
We had previously come across Ross Bay by accident but seeing the accommodation and its location realised it was a place we would like to return to. The byre is beautifully appointed with everything you’d require but it’s wow factor is the stunning views over the bay with the flora and fauna of its surroundings through the two large windows/patio one which opens onto a small ground level balcony. The weather was very good for the time of year but still a little cold to make full use of the patio area but it would make a perfect place to sit out in the warmer months to eat and take in the views...more
Had a lovely restful week away at Dairy House. Everything as described Sue was lovely a d made us a wonderful lemon drizzle cake for our arrival. We were so lucky with the weather in Feb. A perfect getaway to recharge and relax, clean, comfortable and welcoming. The back garden was nice and secure for our lurcher who loved it.
No light pollution so stargazing was amazing we had lots of clear nights and managed to get some great pics including the northern lights.
Didn't want to come home and will definitely be returning
Our third visit to Creel cottage with our two spaniels. The first thing we commented on as we got out of the car was the calm, quiet atmosphere, pure bliss. An earlier holiday for us than usual and a delight to experience early Spring bursting into colour and new life in the countryside. Yes, it was colder and the weather very mixed so it was welcome to have a cosy, warm cottage with a stunning view to return to at the end of our daily exploration. We were privileged to have a clear view of the planets aligning and to see Deer, Hares and the graceful Red Kites show off their aerial display. We...more
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely hut on the farm. It was tranquil, private and very special.
Sue was so welcoming and accommodating, which started our short 2 night stay off perfectly. We ended up staying a 3rd night, due to a storm hitting the morning we were to leave we. It was fun hunkering down, cosily watching telly, and reading while winds blew. The underfloor heating kept us warm.
The main day of our stay was gorgeously sunny. We drove the 20min to Kirkcudbright spending most of the day getting brunch, looking around the shops, walking our spaniel along the river, admiring ...more
Must have stayed here five or six times now! Every time we feel so at home, and find new places to visit. Really can't recommend it enough. The village is picture perfect, peaceful and friendly. Have already booked for next year.
