Hayloft House is a beautifully spacious barn conversion, which is great for a family or group retreat. Our cottages are all well equipped with lovely styled touches throughout, providing you with a home from home. We include 40 inch TV & DVD player, fast free Wi-fi, super comfy sofas and fully equipped kitchen, 3 great bedrooms (2 main rooms with hotel-style beds), three bathrooms and a private courtyard garden. We also have a shared play area for children

Lovely rural location, beautiful setting. Cottage was spacious, and had everything we needed. Simon was quick to rectify small issues, 2 broken toilet seats, fixed quickly. The playground could do with updating with a few new pieces. Lovely place, would love to return

This is the second summer we have stayed at Hayloft House. We had a fab holiday, the cottage is well equipped and clean. The owners are very helpful. We will be returning again soon!

We booked Hayloft cottage as we were attending a wedding in the area. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We highly recommend the cottage to anyone who wants to stay in the Scottish Borders.

We enjoyed our stay in Hayloft cottage. The cottage is well-equipped and very comfortable. It has a private garden and BBQ aswell as a wood-burning stove in the living room. There’s plenty of parking space and the local village is only a few minutes drive away. Berwick and a number of beaches and coastal villages are only 15 mins away. Simon and Emily were really helpful, providing lots of information as well as toys, a high-chair and a cot for our kids.

We stayed for one week at Hayloft House and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Simon and Emily were wonderful, welcoming hosts and the accommodation was very comfortable and ideal for us as a young family. It felt like a home from home, with good wifi, comfortable beds and plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 children. The property is very well kitted out, particularly the kitchen which had lots of utensils, pots and pans, and the bbq with fuel was a nice touch. As was the welcome pack of coffee and biscuits!

The location is ideal for exploring the southern Borders and Northumberland and we enjoyed several trips to the beach (only 10-15minute drive), Bamburgh, and Alnwick, as well as Duns, Jedburgh and Melrose.

The large kitchen was super for preparing meals while having the children play beside us, either in the kitchen or in the fully enclosed courtyard. We were very grateful for the high chair, cot and toys which were provided for our stay, all in immaculate condition. Our 2.5yr old also loved having a little play area on site and was very taken by Merv the Shetland pony.

There is a well stocked Co-op in Chirnside (walking distance if you don't mind a stroll) and we were able to arrange home delivery of our main food shop for the week (most of the large supermarkets serve this area for a reasonable delivery fee).

We would happily stay here again.

A fantastic cottage to stay in. Our party consisted of four adults, a 4 year old and a baby. The cottage suited us well and was very comfortable. It was our first stay at Hayloft House and we will definitely be considering it for our future accommodation needs. The cottage was immaculate on arrival and we were impressed by the level of hygiene. The cottage allowed us to live home from home where we could prepare lunch and cook evening meals with all kitchen equipment you would have at home. The play park was a bonus for our children and we all really enjoyed meeting the hens and pony. The kids loved it and it was a great place to take them to allow people in the party to relax at the cottage for a bit, or for the times in between doing things out and about, to keep the children entertained. The property was close to beaches, countryside scenery and nearby towns for shops and leisure. We will return in the future and I hope you have as much a good time as we did. Thank you very much to Emily and Simon for making it so good from booking to check out. It was a brilliant break.

Rented all three cottages for family re-union of fourteen.
Cottages in a great location and contained all we needed to cater for all ages.

The property has nice large rooms and good bathroom facilities. The shower cubicle in the ensuite is considerably larger than most which is a strong plus. The property is adequately equipped for a short holiday let but does not have some of the additional creature comforts found in other porperties we have stayed in (e.g. books, games, DVDs etc.) but this may not have been a bad thing in the interests of Covid security. The property was well prepared for our stay although there were a couple of maintenance issues that might have been addressed. The location is adjoining farmland just outside the village of Chirnside and many places of interest are within 30 to 45 minutes drive, including the coast and excellent beaches as well as cliff walks.

Thank you for the review, we are really pleased to hear you had a good stay. Unfortunately, as part of the our COVID health and safety measures our books, DVDs, magazines and brochures have been removed following advice from government and self-catering membership body. We are looking forward to the time again when we can return such items to our cottages :) However following your feedback we are going to trial a "library type service" where guests can request a book/DVD in our collection and we can remove it from isolation and deliver to the cottage contact free.

We stayed at Hayloft for a week in August and it was Just what we needed. The barn is lovely and secluded and even though we had neighbours during our stay, we barely heard or saw them. The house is spacious and decorated in lovely neutral tones with splashes of colour. Bedding was all of good quality and there was enough crockery and utensils etc. Emily was lovely and really helpful. We were worried about big being able to travel due to the pandemic so the 2 day cancellation policy was a real comfort. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family. Thanks for a great holiday!

This was our third visit to Hayloft House and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
The cottage was immaculate and very clean, contactless check in was straight forward and Emily and Simon made us very welcome, checking on us during the week and even inviting our daughter to collect eggs from their chickens which she absolutely loved!
Such a family friendly place with lots to do nearby. Emily and Simon are so helpful in offering advice about the local area too.
We will definitely be back for a fourth visit ❤️
