We have been coming to Bannerigg for the last 4 yrs, and to our big family it’s the start of Christmas It’s a beautiful house and the location is spectacular.
We had a wonderful family New Year’s break at Orrest Head House and could not recommend it highly enough. The property is ideal for a group stay, with ample off-road parking and plenty of space to relax and enjoy time together. The location is a real highlight. Although the house feels wonderfully secluded and peaceful, it is only around five minutes from the hustle and bustle of Windermere. There are excellent walks straight from the front door, which made it perfect for exploring the area without needing to drive. We also travelled with dogs, and the setting was ideal. This was our 3rd stay at No 1...we had the best time, the house is fantastic, whether you're looking for a chill in the hot tub or a movie in the cinema, it really does have everything you need and more. It was lovely and warm and beautifully decorated for christmas ..we're already booked again for 2026, looking forward to it already ❤️
Alice Howe was a beautiful home for our stay to celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday. The weekend before Christmas was difficult to book a house for so many people but this was a fantastic place to stay. The location was perfect, very well equipped house with everything you could need for a stay. The cinema room was a hit with everyone as was the hot tub and having a beautiful Christmas tree was a lovely touch a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back

Another stay at Boston House and another bunch of great family memories! My family use this place as a meeting place coming from Warrington (my wife & I), Scotland, Dubai & Hong Kong, and every visit is special. We love Boston House (& Number One) and of course - Windermere itself. Consistently great venue, really nice people (owners & housekeepers) - highly recommended.
