It was our first time at Cologin, so I felt a little apprehensive. It was lovely and clean, which was pleasing. Katie came over to say hello when we arrived, which was really lovely. She was very welcoming and helpful too. There were a couple of issues, but Katie very promptly sorted them out. Her customer service and communication skills were spot on : ) Beds really comfy and rooms very airy. One thing that could be considered though, were the non-stick cooking pans, which were in an awful condition. We are just home from a lovely peaceful stay at Cruchan Cottage. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and spacious. It was well equipped with everything we could need for our weeks stay. It was lovely to see Katie pop by and take time out her busy schedule to check on new guests and let them know she was available should we need her at any point during our stay. The cottage was set in a peaceful area and although there were other cabins around we still felt like we had privacy and peace. Would definatley return to Cologin.
Very quit environment. Between the Hills. Modern interior, Enough Space. Good beds! Naar Oban. Wich is a Very Nice town.
We really enjoyed our recent stay at Cologin in our dog friendly cabin. We had great communication with Katie who made us feel so very welcome from start to finish. Our cabin was immaculate inside and had everything we needed. The decking area to the front was a nice addition too. The Barn had a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and we enjoyed our meal there very much.Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for rustic peace and tranquility within a short drive to the buzz of Oban.
Our third visit, we love the peace and quiet at Cologin. It’s the right side of town for us to get to the dive centre, meaning we don’t have to run the gauntlet of Oban town centre at rush hour! Welcoming, helpful and friendly, we could not wish for more. And the Barn is an added boon, no driving to find somewhere to eat, it’s literally on your doorstep.
Could not fault the farmhouse one bit If anything went wrong Katie would be there help sort it out The barn staff were very friendly and happy I will be back
The setting was lovely, nice and tranquil, signage was a bit early with regards to getting their on road out of Oban, a couple of times I nearly turned to early!. The actual accomodation was great, clean inside, deck and windows on the outside needed a small amount of TLC, What would have made our deck even better would have been the addition of a gate to keep our dog in and secure without having to keep him on the lead. Staff courteous. The Barn for food we felt was very expensive so didnt eat there and our room looked out onto the kitchen area with the chef's coming out on a fair number...more
We stayed here for 3 nights. Nice little lodge perfect for 2 people. Very clean and nicely decorated. Got lucky with the weather and enjoyed the outdoor seating area too. Been coming to cologin for many years and we keep coming back as its such a lovely place. A very friendly and welcoming place and the Barn bar does excellent food and staff there are wonderful.
We stayed at Cologin for 9 nights. We were visiting Oban for the Clipper Race that was coming to the town. We knew it was going to be a busy week with 2 small children and a dog and wanted to find some accommodation where we had space for them to enjoy themselves,...........and we found Cologin. The accommodation and space for the children and dog to run were spot on. Just what we needed after a busy day exploring Oban, neighbouring islands, sandy beaches, beer gardens and restaurants.
