Set in Scotland in the Fife countryside, just 10 miles from St Andrews and 5 miles from Dundee, Sandford Country Cottages are luxury self-catering cottages & apartments which are part of Sandford House, a 'B' Listed Arts and Crafts House built in 1902.
A family business, the properties have been restored by us with Arts and Crafts features such as oak beams and posts. One, two and three bedroom properties are available and all bedrooms are en-suite, with either a bath or a walk-in shower, and all are fitted with Trevi rainwater showers.
In the living areas you'll find spacious open plan spaces, comfy seating and a dining table and chairs. There is also a flat screen TV and an iPod dock or Sonos sound system. The kitchens are very well-equipped, and are fully fitted with modern appliances.
All properties have central heating and a wood burning stove (except Red Squirrel). Electricity, heating and one basket of logs is included in the rental cost, additional logs can be purchased from the office. Superfast WiFi is free.
We booked for Christmas Day as we needed an accessible property.
Our expectations were blown out of the water. The place was perfect.
Comfortable beds, massive living space, great showers, lots of crockery and cookware.
We will absolutely be back.
This was our second stay at Sandford Cottages, although this time we came simply as a couple (the last time we came with extended family) and stayed in the Red Squirrel apartment. As soon as we put our suitcases down it felt like coming home - no need for a last minute shop in anticipation of breakfast, everything is here! We had a very relaxing stay and would definitely return again (and again!).
Another comfortable, cosy and relaxing stay at SCC, this time in the Valentines, we have over the years stayed in all but one of the cottages. All are equipped to a high standard with everything you need and more for a self catering stay. We know the area very well and always find plenty of places to visit. Of course St Andrews being the main place but all the costal villages of the East Nuke of Fife are worth a visit. The View restaurant in Wormit is a must for good food and service. We will be back
This was our third stay in the Baillie Scott cottage and we intend staying again. We were contacted by Evelyn a few days prior to our stay, who advised that the cottage would be ready for us earlier than the usual check-in time. It is considerate contact like this that makes is love this place so much. The cottage itself is wonderful, spotlessly clean, well appointed and very cosy. We just feel so comfortable there. The location is stunning with lovely views over to Dundee and the Tay and close to Tentsmuir Nature Reserve and St Andrews is just a short drive away. We had a relaxing 5 ni...more
The accommodation at Lady Bluebell was of the highest standard. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view from the bedroom windows were amazing. The welcome pack was a great idea and had lovely things in it. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything that we needed. The grounds were so quiet and peaceful and the squirrels were great fun to watch. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
I booked this property, alongside another, to take my friends away for my 60th birthday celebrations. The hosts were welcoming and informative. The accommodation is fantastic: super comfortable beds and linens, lovely bathrooms, well equipped kitchen.
The location is rural and beautiful, we watched red squirrels in the garden. Outdoor balcony with furniture, if the weather is good enough. Only 3-4 miles from the nearest villages and 15 minutes into Dundee.
A welcoming basket of essentials was so nice.
