Epic location, amazing views, peace and seclusion from a busy world. The Boat house is designed beautifully and is very comfortable. The off grid credentials are perfect for getting away and finding some real quietness. The only let down is the shower (pressure is poor and if the wood burner has been going for any length of time it will be scalding hot). Tip - run the hot water at full pressure until cold water starts to replace the hot in the holding tank to be able to shower decently, takes about 20 minutes! This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage has everything you need and with the addition of the pool, play area, football nets and games room, there was plenty to do.
Be aware there are no local shops to buy food items from so you have to drive quite a way to get anything. I think it would be nice to have an honesty shop onsite with some basic food and drink items and toiletries you can buy during your stay.
Overall a very good stay which was excellent value for money. We would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed our stay very much! Glen Affric is one of our favourite places to visit - so beautiful. Dairy was perfect for what we needed and very comfortable. One suggestion might be a couple of garden chairs so one could sit out under the veranda as we had amazing weather and we love to read sitting outside. We used the pool every day and the booking system was a great idea! We have now stayed in the Wooden Lodges, the Courtyard Apartments and now the Dairy! We keep coming back as we love it.
We returned to Tomich for a holiday after a 40+ year absence. We brought our grandson to see the place where we had taught his mother to swim. The lodges have not changed significantly and these days look a little tired. The effect of climate change was obvious, fewer birds and insects although the midges seem less affected, and more growth round the lodges. They are still well equipped and comfortable and we enjoyed our time there.
