We love the quietness, the fantastic location, being able to use the swimming pool privately and the games room. We think the lodges offer good value for a larger family when you consider the use of the swimming pool on site. We stayed in October. The lodges don't look super luxurious inside but they are very functional, plenty of bedroom space and cosy when you use the heating.

A good quality firm king size mattress (currently it's a double) and better quality non-stick pans and kitchen utensils would have been really appreciated.

Beautiful location for nature lovers. Woodlodges are a bit older but with all facilities and beautifully located on the property. Cleaning could be better. Located near Plodda falls, Glen Affric and Dog Falls.

Stayed here a few times over the years, out in the middle of nowhere with peace and quiet, bliss. 5 of us here this year, 3 kids 2 adults. Perfect for what we wanted, sleeping 6. Everything you need is in there for your holiday. Spotless when we arrived, tea, coffee, sugar sachets there for when you arrive along with some cookies.
As I'm a coffee snob, I bring my own Nespresso machine as no coffee machine there. Nice and cosy lodge, kids loved it along with the swimming pool. Will be coming back again.

The photos n the website are slightly misleading. As wonderful as the area and amenities are - the swimming pool especially - the lodge itself is very dated. It was also very gloomy - now I know it’s in the woods and therefore the trees create shade but it felt like staying in a cave at times. We would stay at Tomich again, but certainly not in a woodland lodge.

Thank you for your review and sorry that you thought the photos weren't representative of the Lodge. We've never had anyone mention that before. As you say the Lodges are in the woods and 2024 has not produced much in the way of sunshine during the Summer, all of which will make the Lodges darker inside. We were glad you managed to enjoy the pool though. You will be pleased to hear that the Lodges are due for a major upgrade over the winter.

The stay was very pleasant with enough room for everyone. You can reserve a time slot for the swimming pool so you can enjoy the pool with your family/friends alone.

I love this place that’s why I keep coming back twice a year there is no better place in the Highlands to chill out so beautiful peaceful and tranquil in the heart of nature and the trees around here are magnificent the walk past the old ruin leading down to the river beneath the Plodda falls is simply breathtaking.

We were absolutely delighted with pheasant lodge.

The lodge itself is a full sized detached wooden house, with generous sized rooms & equipped with everything you need. The location to me is heavenly, in highland woodland with views looking down a wooded moss covered hillside. The clean air and the birdsong added to the delightful experience.

The only downside perhaps for some is the remoteness ; single track pot holed roads, about 15 minutes to the nearest shop and half an hour from Drumnadrochit and the main road to Inverness.

The lodge was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We unfortunately had to arrive a few days late due to a family member being unwell but the owners were very accommodating and great at keeping in contact.
The swimming pool was spotless and a great bonus for a wet day as was the games room.
If I could make one suggestion a clock that could be seen when in the pool would be really helpful to keep track of your allocated time slot.
We can't wait to return.

Our family arrived on Easter Saturday for our week’s holiday at Tomich. This was our third visit. The cabins with three bedrooms are ideal for us.
Cabin was ready to go, beds were made up and was selection of instant coffee sachets and creamer pots to make a warm drink.
Location is excellent, away from it all with only the other few cabins as neighbours. Local pub for evening meals 5mins walk away, as well as a convenience store 10 mins drive to top up supplies.
The playground, pool and walks from the door are great for keeping the kids entertained. As well as longer walks for those more motivated.
All round fantastic spot, will definitely be back

We were happy to return to the Lodges at Tomich for a third time. The lodges are ideally placed for hillwalking in Glen Affric and beyond. The costs are very reasonable. Plenty hot water. A drying room facility would be helpful.
It would also be helpful to publicise the Electric Vehicle charging facility - only discovered this as we were leaving,

Over the years I have stayed in three of the Lodges and they are all excellent.

My only "negative" comment is that Ptarmigan Lodge (which I have stayed in twice) could really do with some attention to the wallpaper and paintwork, which is looking rather "tired" in places (such as the master bedroom and bathrooms), with some flaking paintwork and peeling wallpaper. The outside wooden decking could also benefit from similar attention.

Otherwise, highly recommended.

We loved the warm comfortable and homey environment. It was the perfect base to explore and hike in the glens and enjoy the pub before our supper a mere 5 min from our lodge. It was very affordable for the five of us. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped with the exception if a large pot to cook pasta and we missed a dishwasher but we had fun doing them by hand. All in all it is hard to imaging a better spot to be.

This was our 9th visit to Tomich Holidays. Their Lodges are ideal for families and groups though at the end of the season they are showing their age a bit. However, the facilities are good and the staff are very friendly, kind and helpful. It is in a fantastic location, with lots of mountains to climb, forest and loch-side walks and other places to visit. The Plodda Falls were in spate this time and what an amazing sight!

We had a lovely time staying in Tomich. The surrounding area is full of stunning scenery.
The woodland lodge was clean but very tired and in need of upgrading.
Although there are three bedrooms the living space and utilities are barely big enough to accommodate that many people.
The kitchen provided the basic essentials but it could have been a much more pleasant experience with some improved crockery and cutlery and utensils , especially as we ate all meals there due to the remote location.
The sofas were comfy, but the dining chairs were in very poor condition as were the outdoor chairs.
The small bathroom was functional and hot water was plentiful, A better extraction fan would stop the unsightly condensation build up.
The bedrooms were pleasant, although the duvets had seen better days.
The wifi was good.
Overall, the place does have a charm to it and there have been some improvements carried out, it just needs a bit more upgrading to make it a more comfortable stay.
If you are not bothered too much about conditions then the lodge is a nice place to stay and being in the woods is lovely
I would like to return to Tomich, but I think next time I would try some of the other accommodation they offer, like the Dairy or courtyard appts.

This cottage was in excellent condition with a perfect setting with excellent hosts. We have returned here now three times and it has successively maintained and exceeded previous standards. Not many properties allow you the freedom and comfort and amazing setting that this does.

We always enjoy coming to Tomich and staying in one of the chalets. The staff are incredible and so helpful, I was especially impressed with Liv who came down immediately, late at night to sort out our Wi-Fi and was so cheery! It's a peaceful stay surrounded by the woods.
It was a great shame the swimming pool was out of action this year due to the high costs of heating it but hopefully it will be available next year, it's such a lovely facility. The utensils and pots in the chalet could be improved, especially larger serving dishes and saucepans, especially as the chalet does sleep 6. It would be lovely to have some wooden spoons too and some larger glasses for beer or squash. Also a flower vase as I always like having some flowers on holiday! However we had a wonderful stay and will be back!

My family and I drove 9hrs to stay here. It was totally worth it. Awesome lodge nestled in the woods. Awesome location, perfect for exploring the wider area. Awesome hosts, good communication, friendly and welcoming.

Love these lodges and ideal for holidaying with our dog - fourth time since 2006 in this lodge and little has changed. Well equipped and laid out although tight with loo rolls (2 incomplete rolls for 6 people!!), washing up liquid and washing powder so had to purchase mid stay. Would have appreciated either an airer or drying frame to dry off clothing/outdoor garb. Happy to see well organised recycling but couldn't find food waste deposit. Decor and exterior a little tired.
Disappointed that charge for dogs was increased to £50 for the week when tariff published at £30 and also disappointed to have use of swimming pool withdrawn post booking due to running costs with no reduction in price.
Reliable Wi-Fi but no mobile phone signal for the week. Ground maintenance excellent with varied walking for all levels of mobility.
Despite above niggles still like the lodge very much and would return!

Thank you for your constructive comments. There should be an air dryer in each of the Lodges in the cupboard upstairs, where the ironing board and hoover are located. I will ask Housekeeping to check this but thank you for pointing it out. We could have provided one during your stay if we had known it was missing. The food compost bin is beside the swings / play area, marked 'compost' and is detailed in the green guest information folder. We are delighted to let you know that the swimming pool will re-open for 2024. It was a really difficult decision for us to close it for 2023 and we did let all customers who had already booked know by email in November 2022 that it would be closed. We hope to see you again in Tomich though. Many Thanks

They advertise as three stars and that's fair.

Pros:
1. The staff and grounds couldn't have been more perfect for me and the dog, well maintained and landscaped, but woods for exploring too. Perfect fit my pup who's scared of roads.
2. I left my tablet there and Liv let me know and sent it back quickly.
3. Liv couldn't have been more helpful - figuring out the TV when we couldn't connect it, advising on local running or walking routes, and when my dog was unwell, providing additional cleaning items for me to clean up.
4. No judgement from Liv when I told her if my pups 'accident' and made me feel this went a problem. For that I'll be forever grateful as I felt terrible. I know we pay extra for cleaning of we bring a dog, but still.

Cons:
1. The lodge itself needs decorated with anaglypta coming away from the walls.
2. Could have been a bit cleaner with stained carpets and cobwebs on windows.
3. I'd have thought the welcome pack might include a pint of milk or a loaf of bread. It did have tea, sugar and coffee sachets and 2 X 2-2 packs of biscuits.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, and depending on what a person is looking for I would recommend it. It was very expensive at £1000 for the week but I attribute that to it being because of its proximity to the Guisachan golden retriever gathering held locally every 5 years.

We will be due to look at replacing the carpets at the end of the season but there is not much we can do during the main holiday season about stains that we cannot remove, so sorry about the carpet stains. Cobwebs unfortunately are an occupational hazard for us and the spiders are quite voracious at re-webbing after removal! The welcome tray that you refer to is something we provide free of charge so that you can make a cup of tea or coffee upon arrival, but yes it should have had milk in it. The welcome pack is more substantial and provides provisions for breakfast on the first morning and there is a charge made for that. Thanks

I've spent many weeks up in the Tomich Lodges over the years. Anyone who relishes tranquility, hillwalking or simply just walking, chilling out, or studying Scottish wildlife, will enjoy a stay. Glens Affric, Cannich and Strathfarrar are within easy reach. I visit to study insects in this largely unexplored area; anyone with an interest in entomology will doubtless find a visit hugely rewarding. Many rare dragonflies are to be seen in the area, and lots of interesting birds too; crested tits, ospreys, golden eagles, crossbills, several species of grebe and I once noted red-throated divers nesting on one of the upland Lochans.

Tomich is a beautiful location we have been visiting the area for many years. The lodge is lovely overall, could do with a face lift. The decor needs refreshing, especially in the bathroom. Shower needs a power adapter, towel rail didn’t work.

Beds, mattress was very hard, we woke with backache most days. I’d opt for a softer mattress. King duvets on double beds and double duvets on single beds as the duvets didn’t cover both sides of the bed on colder nights.

Overall cleanness was good, cobwebs were visible in some corners and on the skylight windows, these are my pet hate. They hadn’t been removed for some time it was clear. There was old food crumbs between the cooker and cupboards.

We were there during the wildfires, it would have been good for the management team to provide us with updates from the fire crew every couple of days. We were getting updates from friends in the village. We did send a WhatsApp message which then gave an update. Proactive communication in those situations would have been helpful, especially if customers had anxiety and were concerned.

Thank you for taking the time to review you stay with us. We appreciate your feedback and will take your comments on board. Spiders are a continual problem in our rural location and I know from my own house in the village, that cobwebs can be removed one day and back again the next. We have extendable feather dusters for those hard to reach places and they are constantly being used on the cobwebs but sorry if it seemed as if the ones in Mallard had been missed. We aim to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the properties and this is really important to us. The hoover nozzle is put between the cooker and cupboards during any changeover but we will mention this issue you had to the cleaning team. What a shame that you did not let us know about the towel rail during your stay as I think you maybe didn’t realise that you need to hold the button down to turn it on or boost. It is certainly working fine now and we could easily have fixed that for you during your stay. I am sorry to hear that you felt that we did not communicate with you about the wildfire. We did try and see everyone on the Tuesday morning to re-assure guests that the fire was being tackled and that there was no need for concern regarding the properties in Tomich itself. However the curtains in Mallard were drawn when we came to see you that morning so we didn’t want to disturb you. Liv told me the next day that she had spoken to you via Whatsapp and that you were OK. Aside from that the fire crews remained in the area during the next few days to monitor the situation and continue to douse the area, so we felt there was no further danger or information to share as the situation had not changed since the Tuesday. However should such as situation present itself in the future, we will try to keep guests informed. Many Thanks

We love our holidays in Tomich and in the woodland lodges and have been visiting for over 30 years. However we were really disappointed to find when we got there that the swimming pool was closed - as a family we’ve always made good use of the pool and the gaming room so hope this is a temporary measure. Tomich and the surrounding areas never fail to impress. Had a lovely relaxing week.

Wonderful break in our favourite Scottish location. Been visiting Tomich since our kids were really little and just love it. Normally go to the cottages but non available. This was our second visit to Snipe Lodge at Tomich Holidays. The lodges represent excellent value for money for our group of hillwalkers. The location at Tomich is ideal for a wide range of hill walks.
The lodges are comfortable and well-suited to groups such as ours.
The kitchen is well-equipped with cooker, fridge and freezer.
An baking tray or baking sheet would be a useful addition to the single roasting tin.

My Hillwalking club spent our first March long weekend in 2016 and we have been back there every year since except during Covid.
The location is wonderful, the scenery beautiful, the lodges great and the staff at Tomich Holidays couldn't do enough to keep us entirely satisfied. We had 5 of the Lodges which are very comfortable and suitable for hillwalkers. And they even laid on fabulous weather for us!!

This is our 3rd time staying with Tomich Holidays but 1st time staying in a lodge.
The lodges are comfortable but feel dated compared to the cottages. The shower was poor as the water trickled out. There were a few things that could have been improved...I had to peg the ironing board cover to the board as it didnt fit, the bbqs were unuseable, the rotary dryer was dirty and the dial on one of the heaters was broken so we couldnt adjust it. Just little things that would add up over the week.
On the positive its in a beautiful location but prefer the cottages at Tomich Holidays for accommodation.

This was the second time we have stayed the 1st time being in a cottage (that was great as well) and it did not disappoint. The location is amazing and there is so much to see on foot and with a short car journey. The facilities on the site are excellent and the swimming pool gets a massive from the whole family. The appliances within the lodge were well above expectation (too many caravan holidays ) We will be back, Value for money is excellent when compared to other similar properties in the vicinity of the Loch.

We're just back from a fantastic week at the most beautiful place we've ever been! The lodge was spacious, comfy, well equipped. WiFi was good (very important to our teenager).
The pool was lovely! Twice we had it all to ourselves. The location is stunning, there's plenty to do and see. No faults at all.

As Muslim with 6 of us in the family including children this lodge and the surrounding area was perfect and peaceful , able to book private swimming for family each day. The lodge itself was beautiful the only issue we had was the shower was very slow although the tapes were fast and the lodge is fitted with are cylinder boiler with timer which we can not alter for heat as each time one of my family went in for showing up we had to wait at least good 20mins before the next person goes in. The area it self is very relaxed looked over by the office situated on a slight hill next to a large family run house. Areas around and the drive is great. For any Muslim guest staying I would recommend. Defo book again. The mosque is located in Inverness city which is one hour away. Again great place just feel like being at home the masjid.

Visited earlier this year staying in one of the woodland lodges, nice location, lodges have everything you would need with modern furnishings and decor and nice and clean on arrival. There were 4 adults staying and 2 dogs and probably the perfect size for this number, living area may be a little cramped for 6 adults but probably fine if 2 or more children.Tomich itself is very remote and we visited early in the season and pretty much everything was closed, maybe a more up to date guide on local amenities and opening hours would be helpful on the website also pack torches if you're going out at night as it is very dark. All in all very good value for money and would recommend.

We do appreciate that the Lodges might well be 'cosy' for groups of 6 adults and do actually let them know this at the time of booking. Unfortunately the local Hotel has very random opening hours and we have no idea in advance if they are going to be open or closed. I think they are having staffing issues like so many other hospitality establishments. We would always recommend that guests check opening hours themselves via Google before heading out but we will review this information before the next season. We hope to see you soon though. Our one week stay was very pleasant as usual, weather notwithstanding, beatiful surrounding countryside, the swimming was excellent and great that the booking system introduced during Covid restrictions has been continued. Just one small complaint, there were no egg cups in the kitchen. But great to see the games room open again.

This was the first time that we had been given Snipe Lodge and while it was internally exactly like allthe others I did feel that it was slightly more in the shde of the trees and therefore the balcony was not as exposed to the sun as some of the others.

Perfect family holiday, the swimming pool was an amazing facility to be included in our stay and the location was ideal for beautiful walks.
We recently returned as a family after staying roughly 25yrs ago and loved it just as much. Thank you for not changing things, the simplicity and tranquility work perfectly together. The team were so lovely and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

This was our first stay here, although we've visited the area many times, and I think that we'll be back. The lodge has plenty of space, was well equipped and the location was excellent. We had our Goldendoodle with us (thought he should find out more about where 50% of him came from) and the lodge was close to nice woodland dog walks. I'm a cyclist and my wife's a trail runner and we both had plenty of choice of lovely on and off road routes. It was also really peaceful, even though all the lodges were occupied. I think we'll definitely stay here again.

On arrival, we had a good warm welcome. The Lodges (we had 4) were great for a party of 6 in each. The beds comfortable and kitchen well equipped. We had a leak in the kitchen which was fixed quickly and properly. The swimming pool was much appreciated by those who used it.
And the staff were all very friendly and helpful as before (our 5th visit!!)

Comfortable lodge in a beautiful setting. Didn't want to go home.
Beautiful walks. Great family cycling. Kids loved the swimming pool.

We had a great time at pheasant lodge. It is a simple and quiet place - perfect to calm down and relax. We used the pool a lot, went hiking and explored the area.

Tomwich Holidays is a great base - the accomodation was very good and the base had added very welcome extras including an indoor pool and games room. The area including Glen Affric National Nature Reserve is stunning. Highly recommended. I have already recommended to friends

Stayed here for a week with our grandchildren. The pool was great- in it every day and they had a great time. Lovely walks and we went a few drives to the nearby glens - stunning scenery. They also went pony trekking which was really good. Great welcome and was sure if we had any issues they would have been solved immmediately. They really care about the service they provide.

Have stayed at Tomich Holidays years back and longed to go back. Have many wonderful memories from stalking red deer at Cougie near Tomich, and it was lovely to see the area again. Nature up here is amazing, always flabberghasting to walk at Plodda Falls, Dog Falls, Glen Affric. Good location if you also want to go to say Isle of Skye or more north- south- or east-wards.

The condition of the place is adequate to fair. Sofas really uncomfortable. The lodge is perhaps showing signs of its generational age. Housekeeper very helpful.
