This cottage is small, but comfortable and clean. Staff are easy to contact and quick to help with any issues. Beautiful environment for walks and days out.
We have had a fantastic week at Rickbarton Cottage on Church Farm Cottages. We have swam in the onsite swimming pool, and used the wood sauna onsite both were clean and added to our week away.
We have been to Hartley Farm and Seven Stars and explored some of the surrounding area.
It has been an amazing holiday. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing stay on a working farm.
The cottage was clean & well equipped but the sitting area is very small for 4 adults & the quite basic sofas aren't very comfortable.
The central heating was unfortunately not working when we arrived, so it was pretty cold. We were given electric heaters but it meant that our towels stayed damp during our stay.
I think the check in & check out times are too extreme & there seem to be so many rules to adhere to which took away that relaxing holiday feel.
Had a lovely week at Church Farm with very few hiccups. The pool was lovely and we made good use of the games room.
The bedding and towels were extremely well laundered and the kitchen was nicely stocked, and the bathroom and kitchen supplies were very welcome We did have to clean the fridge on arrival as it was not as clean as I would like, but the rest of the cottage was very clean and tidy.
We sadly couldn't use BBQs, but I understand the rationale behind this, but as a large group this would have been nice. I was impressed with the "right to it" attitude of the staff, who were all...more
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage with everything that we needed, except a corkscrew! Apart from the cleaning staff, whom we met when we were leaving, and some adults who were setting up a birthday party we had no real contact with the "management".
Burys cottage is part of a complex of converted barn buildings on a farm near Winsley. This particular cottage is intended for occupation by a couple plus a dog. It is quite small. The lounge/diner includes a fairly large flat screen tv. A smaller one might have been better because you do feel that it is a bit imposing. Overall the cottage suited us for a short break and the owners have an efficient customer care system without being intrusive. I think one of the two bedroom cottages would be preferabl.
