We had a very last-minute booking for Church Farm cottages, and rented Moncrate along with three others for an extended family Christmas. We could not have wished for a better location, facilities, or a warmer welcome. The cottages were well kitted out, and close to the pool and games room, which the kids loved. I escaped for a teen-free quiet swim every morning; the pool was lovely and warm, so it was a very happy Christmas treat. We also had the Walnut Room which had enough space to have us all in for the Christmas dinner and other family meals. Location-wise, the friendly and atmospheric v...more
Really enjoyed it. Second time here. Well equipped and nice pool. I had a midweek break and it was quiet. If it had been busier and all the cottages occupied, there might not be much privacy from the other cottages if sitting outside. Great facilities and a nice cream tea waiting with a bottle of milk.
We stayed in the Vellum Stone, Rickbarton and Stapeley cottages for a hen do. We all like a drink but just wanted to sit and chat of an evening. This was the perfect escape!! Every cottage was really clean, the decor was great and nothing felt old or scruffy, they are really cared for. We booked the Walnut room and had Flowers of Bath come to do a flower crown workshop. The room was perfect and we all had such a wonderful time. So grateful to have that on site.
Took the family away to celebrate Granny's 80th birthday. The Old Granary was an excellent venue for children who enjoyed the swimming pool and for adults for walks and local places of interest. Would recommend it .
We parked our car on arrival and did not use it again while on our three night mid week break. We used the regular bus through Winsley to visit Bath and walked the canal path to Bradford on Avon. The cottage was perfect for our stay and the pool was used everyday. The farm shop and Seven stars pub are well worth a visit amazing food at both.
A lovely few days, our two granddaughters really enjoyed the swimming pool and our walks around Winsley and Bradford on Avon. A very interesting and pretty town with plenty to see.
Enjoyed our stay at church farm. Really lovely local village, great local pub. Close to Bath, Bradford Upon Avon. Comfortable and very clean, cosy cottages. Well equipped and the pool area is very good. Enjoyed the milk and scones left on arrival. The farm visit side of the stay was not open when we stayed, as not yet April. We did not meet the owners at any point. The adjacent road is busier than I expected, and fairly close to the cottages. Completely quiet inside, but would notice if eating a meal on the patio in the warmer months.
