Set in rural Hereford ,with great views and countryside we can accommodate up to 22 people ,ideal for gatherings of families and friends.
Large detached property situated in a peaceful location on a working farm at the end of a mile long track, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Pencombe. the pub is within easy walking distance, there are no neighbours to disturb and there are several activity operators within a short drive. We also accept dogs.”

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Durstone Cottages and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The beautifully maintained cottages offer a perfect blend of comfort and functionality. The cleanliness and condition of the cottages were top-notch, making our stay incredibly pleasant.

The location is stunning, providing lovely views and a serene environment perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cottages are well-equipped with everything you might need. The kitchens are well-stocked, and the dining room and lounges offer ample space for large groups. We particularly enjoyed the games room, which was a hit with the children and adults in our group.

The customer service was excellent, and the staff were always ready to assist with any queries we had. Overall, Durstone Cottages provided great value for money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

19 adults and children stayed at the accommodation to attend a family wedding locally, so the location worked well for us. The property was spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The only negative for us was the lack of a single bed in a room we expected one from the floor plan, as this was to accommodate a family and the bunk above double did not really work for us as a young child. Otherwise all was good and sadly we did not get much time to enjoy the facilities in the accommodation.

What a super house to meet up in for the weekend.
This is our second visit and this weekend was as good as the first.
The house is just right for all 20 of us between the ages of 7 and 81.
Two well equipped kitchens, a great games room (for the children and the 81 year old), plenty of bathrooms/toilets, and lots of room in the dining room and lounges for all of us
There are also plenty of walks and things to do and see in the area.

My son in law booked this for our large family to stay in for their wedding at Bredenbury court wedding venue. It was absolutely beautiful, lots of room, great family area, games room for the older ones, just a lovely place to stay.

Nice cottages in a lovely setting.
Being honest the kitchen in one of the cottages was woefully small to accommodate 10 people.
It looks a lot bigger on the website photos than in reality.
The website floor plan for both cottages needs updating as modifications have been made are a not showing on the website.
One of the walk in shower rooms downstairs is now an on suite, one kitchen has been extended and the bedroom downstairs showing as having 3 beds (a double and a single) has now only a kingsize bed.
All in all though we had a lovely time and the addition of the huge dining hall and games room are a welcome bonus.

We were a group of 19. The youngest is 7 and the oldest 80. Three generations with a good spread of ages.
The house was super for all of us. Comfy beds, plenty of room for the children to run around, both inside and out, and a games room for rainy days.
Lots of interesting walks, especially from Bromyard, only a few miles away.
Well equipped everywhere, with a superb looonnng table for us all

Durstone cottages are in a remote area surrounded by farmland and are at the end of a long track. It was a lovely, peaceful location and has a games room which kept the grandchildren - and adults - occupied whilst the meals were being cooked in the spacious kitchen. There is also a smaller kitchen in one of the cottages. We had the use of both cottages as we were thirteen people in total. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and enough bathrooms so nobody was queuing up for a shower! It was good to have a long dining table which joined both cottages and could easily seat everyone even if at full capacity. The kitchens were well equipped and had everything we needed. Occasionally the Wi-Fi went down but we were just grateful to have it in such a remote place. The only suggestion we would like to make is for the bedrooms to have blackout curtains as it was very light early in the morning!!!!
We had a very enjoyable week at Durstone Cottages and found plenty of places to visit within an hour’s drive.

Our extended family and friends, aged 8 to 80 really enjoyed our weekend in Durstone cottage. It's a lovely, quiet, remote setting, but with village and bigger towns nearby. We filled the house, everyone got a bed, some with en-suite. The 2 living rooms & kitchens were really handy for such a large group. The wood burning fires were lovely, and Sarah the host was great at providing additional wood. The dining room annex fitted us all in, but a bit of a squeeze to move around. The games was great, if a little chilly, much appreciated by the teenagers (and those who wished they were!). It's a great, comfortable place where you can relax without worrying about the host "inspecting with a fine tooth comb"! We even got a thank you from Sarah for how clean we left it.

This cottage works so well for a group we had 17 people, so handy to have two kitchens to cook in and a large dining room so you can all come together and eat. Set in a very quiet farmlands, plenty of walks and the locate pub isn't too far away! Beds are comfy we had plenty of hot water and kids (including the big ones) enjoyed the games room. Recommend a trip to Weston cider distillery as somethibg local to do.

We're a group of old school friends who have been going away with our families one weekend a year for the past 10 years, and I can safely say this is the best accommodation we've stayed in so far within our budget. A warm and comfortable house, two kitchens, plenty of bathrooms, very comfortable beds, and a big courtyard for bbq's/outdoor socialising. There's also a separate games room which was perfect to keep the kids (and big kids!) entertained. Sarah was really helpful and accommodating in the lead up to our stay, and we arrived to find a lovely, unexpected welcome pack. I would definitely recommend this accommodation for big groups of friends or families!

We stayed at Durstone Cottage in September for a big family get together. The location was amazing and the views were great. For us having 2 sides to the cottage meant that we could split the little kids who got up early from the big kids who got up late and the shared dining room worked really well so we could all sit down together. The games room was invaluable for keeping the teenagers occupied. The bedrooms were all comfortable and clean as were the bathrooms. Also good value for monee.

What an absolutely stunning place! The view is great, the house is clean and in a very good condition. The games room was a very welcome addition as well!!

Thanks to bigger grocery stores being around 15-30m away shopping ended up being easy too!

Only downside we found was the dirt road up to the house, nothing for lower cars, but quite fun for cars that can handle it :)

I heavily recommend this place, and might see if I can't book another trip there again !

We had a wonderful weekend staying at Durstone Cottages. We were a large group travelling to attend a wedding nearby, but everything went really smoothly thanks to clear communication and directions. Sarah was very helpful with advice on supermarket deliveries and access, and was flexible about the check out time which was much appreciated. The cottages were comfortable and spacious, with everything we needed for the weekend. The games room was a great addition! I would recommend the cottages to anyone in a larger group looking for a base to enjoy the lovely local area.

We had the most amazing family Christmas all together here and it couldn’t have been better set up for large groups. The 2 sides of the house had a kitchen each, so it was great for preparing and storing food for a large party, plenty of fridge and freezer space too. The 2 living rooms meant that we could have a quieter room for the older members of our party and a somewhat noisier room for those who wanted to make a bit more noise. The dining room was perfectly set up for a large group and the Christmas tree was the perfect addition for putting the presents under on Christmas Eve.
The games room was a really fun addition too.
The owners couldn’t do enough for us and were super helpful.
Would 100% recommend.

Group of 19 adults stayed for 3 nights for a 30th Birthday.
We all had a brilliant time, everyone complimented the house and facilities. Surroundings are stunning and the house has everything you could need for self catering get away in the country. Once you get your head around the layout, the house itself is great, comfy beds, dining table for everyone and two kitchens which actually make it easier when cooking for large parties. Plenty of seats in the living rooms (although bit if of a squeeze for 19 adults into one) with a smart TV in one. The garage/games room also has extra fridges/freezers and a washing machine.
The mile long road up to the cottage is very much a rocky dirt track, take extra care in a low car.
The only neighbour is the farm just a bit further up the road and the cows in the field! Perfect spot to get away from everything.
Sarah was really accommodating and helped with every query.
Happily return for the next birthday bash!

We loved our break in this remote cottage in Hertfordshire surrounded by breathtaking views on all sides. The owner was accommodating and helpful and the cottage was impeccably clean and well stocked with clean cutlery and basic kitchen equipment.
The bedding was very comfortable and we had the best nights sleep after lovely long walks along the farms.
We also made good use of the barbecue.
Other than missing use of the fireplace and some issues with the heating in one of the two cottages, we had an enjoyable and restful time overall.
The kids spent a lot of time in the games room which is an excellent feature but could also do a bit of an upgrade.
Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family.

With 9 children and 12 adults we had an excellent time. The games room was a perfect escape for kids and adults from the windy and rainy day.
The cottage is surrounded by lovely views and many walking trails and activities.

We were a party of 10 adults, 5 children a baby and 3 dogs. The property worked very well for us, there was plenty of space, heaving two sitting rooms meant we could have a quiet room and a noisier room! The gardens and garage with table tennis etc were great with the children and dogs. It was very quiet with walks from the house, but less than an hour into Hereford. Sarah responded promptly to my emails and everything was ready for us when we arrived.

Seventeen members of our family ( with dogs) thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here. The rural setting is beautiful with rolling fields all around. All bedrooms have a beautiful view. The cottage is located about a mile down an unmade road so very peaceful. Cattle grids make the garden area safe for children and dogs to roam a little. The house has everything you might need for a self catering stay. Sarah is a great hostess. Can thoroughly recommend Durstone Cottages.

We had five families getting together, with thirteen children under 10. We found that the house was big enough, bedrooms and bathrooms comfortable, kitchens well equipped. The outdoor space was great, and the kids could play freely around the property with no worry of traffic etc. Sarah was very helpful and it was great that she was laid back and the property was nice, but was not like a showhome, so we could be relaxed.
Only downside were the huge number of flies, but I think we were just unlucky with time of year/weather conditions there.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay as a group of 13. All the facilities worked well and the location was very peaceful, surrounded by fields full of singing birds including skylarks.

We were looking for somewhere remote and these cottages offered exactly that. Sarah was brilliant in terms of initial contact and organising and also making us feel welcome. Games room with pool and table tennis was a welcome addition and not too far away from Hereford if you wanted to head out into a more populated area.

20 of us stayed here for my birthday aged between 3 months and 86 with 2 dogs and the cottages provided everything we needed in a beautiful setting. The cottages are warm, clean and very comfortable, Sarah is very helpful and I would unreservedly recommend a stay here.

We very much enjoyed the opportunity of celebrating our 80th birthdays with our family in this beautiful part of Herefordshire. The setting of the cottages on the top of a hill is wonderful with spectacular views. The accommodation suited our purposes and provided facilities for people of varying ages to enjoy themselves indoors and outside. Our young grandchildren could play safely without the close supervision of their parents. The second part of the week there were just 3 of us, but that allowed us time to recover, chill out and enjoy the peace and quiet that the location offered. We did not feel isolated, but enjoyed the peace and tranquility, and we appreciated Sarah's support and willingness to help if needed, but also that she respected our privacy. Thank you very much for making this a time we shall remember with pleasure.

A perfect location in every sense for our family get together...beautiful countryside and the opportunity to be together for meals,games and chats -but with space for me time and a chill out if you wanted it.We particularly enjoyed the games room-its a chance to let your hair down and have a go at table tennis, pool and table football -who cares if you haven't a clue about the rules?there were 20 in our group-youngest 13mths...most senior 87yrs-the rooms and facilities were just right for us all.
I appreciated the friendly help and advice from Sarah before our stay,we went to the 'Plough' for a birthday meal before setting off for home on her recommendation.The nearby Queenswood Country Park made a lovely day out for us all..and its free!

The house met all of our needs, great big dining hall for group meals and a games room which kept us all entertained. The place itself was clean and spacious and in an amazing location, only a short walk to the local village pub.

Thank you for a lovely weekend away. The house was extremely comfortable and the location stunning! We were a group of 17 - seven couples and three singles and the house felt cosy yet spacious. We loved dining together at the large table, looking out onto the beautiful views. Having such a private and secluded setting was ideal too, meaning we didn't have to worry about noise levels and could enjoy the weekend to the max.

Wonderful weekend with family. The first time we have all been able to meet. No worries about neighbors complaining about the noise - from the adults as well as the great grandchildren. Two kitchens were very useful to cater for a very mixed company of adults and children.

24 humans and 3 small dogs stayed at Durstone Cottage for a family reunion. The accommodation was plenty big enough for everyone and was very warm and comfortable with fresh clean white bedding.
Surrounded by fields allowed for good walks with beautiful views.
Very good value for money. A return visit is planned!

The house was perfect for our stag party. The house was very clean and very big which was good in fitting us all in confortably. We used many appliances and had no problems with any as all worked well. We really enjoyed the games room and the fact that the house was secluded so noise was not an issue. Sarah was really helpful with booking the house as well as extra things I needed to think about e.g coach hire and takeaways. Everyone really enjoyed it and I would defiantly recommend this house to others. Thanks again for having us

Cottages worked very well for our four families, with the two kitchens connected by the long dinning room table to seat 22, where we ate meals, played games. When one dishwasher didn't work, someone came to check within an hour, and new one fitted the following day. 11 grandchildren aged 3 to 15 played happily around the property and in the garage with table tennis. The mile long drive too rough for bikes and sometimes could smell the pig farm. Would have helped to have a tumble drier. However the weather was good and views fantastic and a lovely holiday was had by all.

Excellent family weekend celebrating my wife's birthday with 7 adults and 6 children aged 1yr to 10yr. The location was perfect with lovely views, and the cottages provided plenty of space for adults and children alike. Situated far enough away from the roads to allow the children to run free, and in the evenings, the games room was a brilliant facility that provided endless fun, although noticeable that it must have been used a lot over the summer, and showed signs of needing a bit of a rest.
The house facilities had a good starting supply of cleaning products (dishwasher powder, washing up liquid etc) and the use of both kitchens was a bonus on the first night when we ate in.
Village pub was a little too far away for the children to walk, and the path too rough for push chair, but provided adequate "pub grub" for all on the second night.
All in all, an enjoyable time, and would definitely return.
