The fact that it is our third stay at the Carthouse should tell you all you need to know. Excellent accommodation in a lovely relaxed setting. Everything is provided, fantastic customer service from friendly hosts Great value. We hope to stay again in the not too distant future.

We had an excellent stay and highly recommend the Cart House, it has a very homely feel to it and everything was perfect. The hot tub put the back is an added bonus and certainly added an extra touch to the overall stay. There is plenty of of sights to see so never stuck with anything to not do but relaxing in the garden was just as lovely. Thank you again and will be definitely be returning in the future.

The accomodation was comfortable and warm the garden was private and we enjoyed watching the bees while in the hot tub. Enjoyed going a drive and seeing the local area.

Amazing location with great facilities! Having stopped at The Mill House in October for a family get away we had to book to come back as a couple. We love the chickens, Millie the Dog & Charlotte the cat! The Cart House is great to get away and relax in the hot tub whilst looking at the stars in the sky :)

We booked the cart house for a long weekend for my husband’s birthday. We found it relaxing quite & friendly. The hot tub was big considering the cottage is only for 2 people. When we arrived it was late and dark but what a lovely surprise to turn in to the paddock (for want of a better word) and see all the accommodations lit up and a gorgeous massive Christmas tree all lit up. It made it so special.
There is everything you need to self cater in the cottage and I would definitely recommend it to people. It’s not our first time staying at Upper house farm cottages and it definitely won’t be our last. We have already booked to stay in March in The Granary. So looking forward to it.

me and my girlfriend stayed in the cart house for 2 weeks, this is the 2nd time we have stayed here and probably won't be the last, There is a lovely quirkiness to the place it's a very relaxed atmosphere too, all the locals say hi as your walking down the little country roads, there is bus service that runs from the village hall and another one about a 2 mile stroll away. Rodney's pillar is brilliant and only about a 12 mile walk there and back. the place itself is very comfy and well equipped there is a badminton court and a pool table to while away those rainy sundays (i beat my girlfriend 3-2 at badminton) and 19-1 at pool) im nearly 41 btw. ohhh there is a hot tub too and a bbq, i really don't see what more you could want? i'm no reviewer there are lot of people more elegant than me but i will finish by saying i felt 100% safe there and it makes it so easy to relax when you feel like that.

We had a great stay and the location is perfect for visiting lots of places in Shropshire and the Welsh Borders, many of which are within 30 minutes travel time. Great walks nearby and a little further afield and good facilities in the playbarn if the weather isn't suitable for getting out. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, suggesting good places to walk, visit and eat out. Great value for money and loved the fresh eggs, an added bonus! Would recommend to others.

Beautiful, well appointed with everything we needed for a week away from it all & surprisingly spacious for a 1 bedroomed cottage. It had a fabulous sun trap of a back garden, the hot tub was amazing & we used it almost every day & also enjoyed collecting fresh eggs for breakfast from their chickens. We had originally booked to stay in April / May 2020 but COVID put paid to those plans & the owners were very accommodating in letting us postpone for 12 months, using our original deposit. We enjoyed it so much we are hoping to return to the largest cottage with extended family. Thank you for a lovely stay, it was well worth waiting for & we would definitely recommend.

This was our third stay at the Cart House, and our sixth over all at Upper Farm Cottages. The cottage is very comfortable, with all the facilities needed for self catering, and of course the hot tub is fabulous. With all that has been going on in the world it is nice to go somewhere where you can trust the facilities and know you’ll have a warm welcome. I’m already looking at the calendar for a return visit.

Both my husband and I had a brilliant time, this isn't the first time we have visited Uppperhouse Farm Cottages we tend to go a min of 4 times a year and stay either with friends in one of the other brilliant cottages. Julie and Robert are fantastic nothing is too much trouble for them. Thanks for letting us come it was just what the doctor ordered (not literally) feel so much better after chilling in a lovely one bedroom cottage.

We really loved our stay in the Cart House. It is the perfect size for two people. It was comfy and had everything we needed for the 2 nights we were there. The hot tub was amazing and so big! Even though the accommodation was for 2 people, the hot tub was big enough for up to 5, which made it even more amazing. We loved having the fire on of an evening and the wood provided lasted ages, so we could have it on all evening.
Special mention to Millie the dog. She is so sweet and decided to join us in the accommodation on several occasions, which was really lovely.

We booked a 4 night stay at this cottage in July 2020. On arrival we found the accommodation had been thoroughly cleaned (given the current Covid situation), the cottage had everything you could need to enjoy your stay. Staff were very helpful and detailed instructions were left, explaining how things worked. The hot tub and private garden were perfect for the evenings. We would definitely recommend this to others and will consider rebooking in the future. 5/5!

Having stayed in The Mill House back in 2014 as part of a big group, we have wanted to come back to try The Cart House ever since but the timing didn't really work until this year. It was well worth the wait. The arrangements that had been put in place for dealing with the threat of Covid 19 worked really well. Robert and Julie were excellent in their routine maintenance of the hot tub and promptly dealt with the single minor issue that we encountered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely make a return visit to either The Cart House as a couple or to any of the other units as part of a group.

Absolutely an amazing place to go for a weekend away from the city. Beautiful location on the countryside of Shropshire. Been on the cart house this time and was just perfect for me my girlfriend and our little baby (no troubles for the owners to provide us a travel cot). Tha place is well maintained and pretty and comfortable, there are a lot of stuff to do including the lovely hot tub on your backyards which make it a winner. As said, there are 2 play area which are lovely and there is pretty much everything to spend few hours happily there. I have met Julie the owner which was lovely too. A very chilled atmosphere and definitely a highly recommended get away location.

The hosts run this site so well, offering step by step location directions, a welcome pack and places to visit book, nearby pubs and restaurants, of which we thoroughly enjoyed the venue and food at The old Hand and Diamond Inn we were lucky to get in it was so busy. Great touches such as the availability of free range eggs for guest to pick. Such a lovely homely feeling to the place, the log burner was wonderful in the evening. On leaving the owners wanted to ensure that everything had been ok with our visit, in which we replied 10 out of 10, our 4th visit and we will return again.

The family had a wonderful time staying here. All bedrooms en-suite which was fabulous , plus a bathroom and separate toilet downstairs which was helpful for my 94 year old Dad. Four grandchildren loved the space and the well equipped play room, and the sauna and hot tub an added bonus for the adults. Quarry park close by which made a nice afternoon out for the little ones, and had a fabulous meal at the local pub, Hand and Diamond. Would thoroughly recommend staying here. Heather Price.

Stayed at the cart house for five nights over new year 2019. Very impressed with the standard and everything you could possibly need has been provided. The facility was clean and well presented. Large hot tub in a courtyard garden which is fully enclosed. The whole site is charming and quiet. Hosts friendly and easily available should you need to contact them. Really enjoyed our stay and will go back again.

We had an enjoyable and restful stay, even though the weather was poor.
Robert (owner) and Julie (manager) were very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them, including putting a chair and a shower mat in the shower for us..
The Cart House was well furnished and immaculately clean. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen was provided.
The provision of videos and games was particularly welcome given the weather .
My husband and I are getting on a bit (in our late 70's) and we recognise that most visitors will be a lot younger and athletic than us. But for us oldsters, whilst the sofa was very soft and comfortable we found it too low and too soft to rise from easily. And the addition of some grab rails in the shower would have been very welcome.

Booked this property because of location and hot tub, very happy with the choice we made as both are excellent. Cottage is lovely and we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. Facilities on site are great and would really benefit families or groups.
The one and only thing that wasn’t great was the mattress on the bed which I found uncomfortable but do appreciate that can be subjective.

Fantastic week with my 12 year old son. The accomodation was made to feel very spacious by the high ceilings and open-plan layout. The hot tub was the best I have ever been in and was a wonderful way to relax during the day and evenings. We particularly enjoyed, and made use of, the games room and playbarn. Despite all of the cottages being used, we never had to wait to use the facilities. The owners and manager were more than welcoming and helpful. The deer park made for a nice walk from the cottage and we enjoyed visiting Shrewsbury, Llangollen and Chirk as day-trips out. We really enjoyed our time and hope to come back, either just the two of us or perhaps in one/several of the larger cottages with friends and family.

Where to start... Julie was lovely, warm, welcoming, and very attentive. The location was ideal for what I wanted, quiet and tranquil. Only suggestion I would make is a prominent sign on the main road as it’s a small turning in. Going to the property itself, was lovely and just what was needed. The amenities were not used by us, but it was a brilliant feature to have. We did make use of the DVD collection as I forgot my amazon firestick remote! Only real criticism for me was the bedroom. Being 6ft 5 I cant sleep on beds with a foot board very comfortably, but I’m sure this won’t bother most guests, the mattress was too soft for me, again, personal thing, and the TV was too small in the room. Overall, absolutely loved the stay, and would 100% return! Thank you very much for everything we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great time . Robert and Julie were extremely helpful especially regarding helping John who is in a wheelchair .
It was very comfortable and immaculately clean.
So quiet and peaceful but handy location for visits to Shrewsbury and Welshpool.

Cannot praise this holiday cottage holiday enough. On arriving we found a small step onto the entrance to the cottage which was difficult for our mobility scooter, within 10 minutes, the owner had a ramp in place, Nothing was too much trouble for Robert, and Julie , the site Manager. Would have no hesitation in returning for a quiet, relaxing break, not forgetting the relaxing hot tub.

We loved our stay in the cart house. It was warm, comfortable & the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals. The hot tub was lovely. All the staff were really helpful & friendly. Would definitely come back.

Very well appointed cottage, all the equipment you need and everything working / very clean. Great having the log burner on a chilly weekend (although it is very efficient so can get too warm), and the hot tub is a nice luxury, even on a cold night as it is always on and so is guaranteed to be warm when you arrive. Very quiet location, whilst not being completely isolated as it is only 10-15 minutes from Shrewsbury. Would thoroughly recomment staying here for a get-away-from-it-all short romatic break.

Very impressed by the accommodation, clean and very comfortable for the two of us. Wish we had booked for Longer! Loved the chance to relax in the hot tub.
The cottage is well positioned to visit Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas. Greatly enjoyed the sites of the city and the battlefield visitor centre and bird of prey attraction.
Very much enjoyed a Sunday lunch at the local pub just over the Welsh border, could be the hand and diamond?
Overall, we both had a lovely weekend and plan to go back at sometime soon, maybe we will take the kids then...

The property was absolutely fine - including the hot tub. The only 2 issues we had were not related to the state of the property at all. the first is that you can't really walk anywhere.

The nearest pub is about 1.5 miles away but the road is a 60mph single carriageway with no pavement. Anything else is even further away.

The only other issue we had was the WiFi - I wouldn't recommend it if you need WiFi as it was quicker using 3G apart from the odd sporadic spells where it was rapid for 20 minutes or so. Possibly somebody else staying there was using all the bandwidth or something but we gave up on it - even trying to download a menu from a recommended takeaway was painful.

Everything else is spot on though so if you are happy taking the car places and having no Internet then I recommend it.

So sorry you had problems with your WIFI , had we of known we would of contacted supplier to see if there was any thing they could of done. We do have a reliable 12Mbps internet connection here. which is usually sufficient. We have a beautiful walk through Loton deer park, that can if you had wished ended at The Windmil pub, good food and beers approx 1 mile away. maps in the play barn for many walks locally. Do hope you would consider returning again.

pleasant and tranquil,an immaculately clean place, situated for all aspects of shopping visiting attractions, lovely pubs eateries nearby lovely helpful owners. A couple of issues for us, it was very quiet until we had neighbours who arrived the next day a party of 6-8 people, did not like them passing the property windows every five minutes morning and evening, through the day either of us were out. Also everything had been done to attack the flies we appreciate that, i did not cook but i would not have liked to as once opening the door you were invaded by them and i only did breakfast and a snack.

This was a second visit to the Cart House and was as enjoyable as the first. We were greeted by Julie who made us very welcome and the cottage was exactly as we remembered it. The facilities were excellent and the hot tub well used. Recommend the Saffron Cottage Indian restaurant at Ford (more expensive, but well worth it) and also the Old Hand and Diamond pub just down the road. It was great to see Millie and the cats again and look forward to seeing the chickens on our next visit. Lovely holiday - peace and quite - just what we needed - highly recommend a visit.

Ideal base for exploring the area but would need a car or some form of transport.

We had a great stay over the weekend, the cry house is cosy & comfortable. It has everything you need. Underfloor heating is perfect for the winter months!! Plenty of privacy in the garden, hot tub was fab (a few of the jets were in need of repair but this was explained to us as soon as we arrived). Good location for visiting Shrewsbury/Telford. Would definitely recommend.

A fantastic place for peace and tranquility - the overall cottage was of the highest standard and the hot tub was well used and very private. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us, even letting us have a look around the other properties as they became vacant. Millie, the farm dog, was a treat for us to have an adopted dog for the week. Highly recommend the Saffron Cottage Indian restaurant and also the Hand and Diamond pub - food was brilliant in both. A really good 'jumping off' spot for visiting lots of different places. Thank you and we will be back.

We had a great welcome back to the Cart House.
Everything was where expected, even Millie the sheepdog, who loves butttered toast. Bella was only a kitten when we last saw her but she has grown up to be an independent cat. We hardly saw her.
We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a busy day visiting all the National Trust properties in the area.
Powys Castle, Errdig, Shrugborough Hall all well worth a visit.
Plenty of good restaurants in Shrewsbury and surrounds.

Family with young baby - loved the location, beautiful scenery, went on some lovely walks in the country side. Very pleased with accommodation, was in immaculate condition. We booked directly (from the Upper House Farm Cottages website) which was all very smooth & straightforward. The Cart House was just what we wanted for a short break away from work & routine. Very good quality furnishings & fittings, hot tub being the icing on the cake! Great location for several National Trust properties. Loved every minute, will be back!

Lake Vyrnwy is well worth a visit, it's well sign posted and is about 40-50 min drive.

I really do think this is a wonderful place to go! Me and my boyfriend went h for our anniversary and found that the location was exactly were we wanted it, out of the way from the city, close enough to get back to Liverpool but far enough for a holiday which was what we got with Uppee cottages!! We found it quiet and everyone was respectful of each other at night times. No rowdiness and even the children had a place to entertain themselves (we didn't take children but we know that we can for future trips). The hot tub is secluded and hot and even though the weather was freezing the hot tub stayed to a really hot temperature. Another fact I liked was the resident dog Millie, in the welcome book it stated you could take her for walks with you which I found a genius idea! Although we never took this offer up, I will definitely in the future! I highly recommend a visit here to anyone who wants to relax and get away from the city, my advice would be to stock up on your essentials when you go as the nearest supermarket is 10 miles away, but easy to get to. Also what I find worth mentioning is that there are local pubs and restaurants that you can go to but make sure you book beforehand as some only take bookings! Hope you fall in love with this place as much as we did!

Very good greeting. Property almost new but keeping within the age of the original farm buildings. New furnishings and fittings in good condition. The linen in particular impressed us as it was of good quality and cost had not been skimped. Welcome pack was good, we liked the shortbread biscuits. Two dogs and a kitten adopted us and made sure that we didn't miss our own pets.
The area has many interesting features and picturesque towns.
