We spent a week in the Mill House with our children and grandchildren, it was perfect. It is hard to work out what you would need to make a more perfect week. The house is immaculate and has oodles of space. The bedrooms are well sized and all have en-suite facilities. The play barn and the barn with the climbing frame provided everything that was needed to keep the children, aged from 2 to 18, amused either in the ball pit or on the pool table. We were blessed with good weather but in truth we were all just as happy chilling around the property and using the facilities that were on offer. For a group of 14 like ours I suspect you would struggle to find a property that was of equal quality and that came equipped with such great additional facilities. A great week.

Ideal accommodation for a large family/group holiday.
Communications following booking have always been clear and helpful. Accommodation was available when promised and ready for us to arrive and settle in. All facilities far exceed normal accommodation provisions and the owner was contactable and helpful and could not have done anything more.

This was our second visit of 8 ladies to Mill House, and, once again we had an amazing weekend here, we arrived Friday, all had amazing back massages with Lucy, bus ride into Shrewsbury on Saturday, shopping and food at the
House of the Rising Sun,
Back on the bus, hot tub, snacks,
Sunday, breakfast, a little walk and we made a fantastic Christmas dinner together, with a homemade trifle to follow!
It is a perfect house for us all and have rebooked again for next November, the only downside is was the time went too quickly !

Third time lucky, as they say, but then both other visits were excellent. The house is so light , airy and spacious. The kitchen has all the mod cons you might need and for 10 retirees the lounge area boasts lots of comfortable seating. There is plenty to divert you, with pool table and play areas on site and good media provision as well.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay. And don’t forget the giant hot tub.

3rd visit for our family, ranging from 2-71. The two year old loved the soft play area. We has a tiny issue with a downstairs bed was sorted immediatley.

Mill House Cottage provided everything needed for a fantastic family holiday. We ranged in age from 10 months to 58 years old and there was something for everyone. Jimmy’s Playbarn kept everyone entertained, as did the badminton court, sauna and hot tub. Cats and chickens roamed freely and we collected eggs each day. We were lucky to have excellent weather and there were good walks close to the barn and in Shrewsbury.

Stayed at mill house for the weekend with a mix of adults and kids and loved every minute of it. House is very spacious and has everything you need. The play barn for us was the highlight. A good variety of things in there for all ages particularly for my toddler daughter who was obsessed with the soft play. The honesty shop was helpful when we had forgotten a few bits. A few minor points that could be improved, one dishwasher broken and the other had broken racks inside, only one pool cue that worked, and some of the doors were sticking but none of this impacted our stay. Hope we can get back one day

We have been coming to stay here for about 6 years. There are between 15 and 19 and we stay in two cottages. They are clean and comfortable and well equipped. We have done many walk from here and really enjoyed the countryside. The addition of a hot tub is the icing on the cake.
Having a sports hall and games room means these cottages are ideal for all ages. We thoroughly recommend staying here.

Great accommodation, all bedrooms ensuite and lots of room for our annual club get together..
Stayed here 4 times now and usually book in conjunction with other cottages on site depending on numbers. Plenty big enough entertaining space to get 20+ in to ear and drink and enjoy the facilities . Hot tub and sauna are added bonuses.
The play barn is another great space to utilise.
Julie and Betty Lou are easy t deal with and answer any queries.
Good walks within a shore distance and a pub not far up the road for an evening meal.
Highly recommended and very good value for money for the standard of accommodation.

Very large property, great all bedrooms having en suite bathroom's some parts tired, eg tatty blinds, scatter cushions, sadly not very good views, play barn very shabby. Not best pleased with long to do list on leaving, strip beds, put into bags, put towels into bags, empty bins, its supposed to be a holiday, arrival time has been changed to allow for extra cleaning (was 15-00 now 16-00) one hour to allow for extra cleaning, why? so hence the poor rating on value for money.

We received a warm welcome to the Mill House which provided the ideal place for an extended family get together to join wedding celebrations at a local venue. The accommodation is spacious and very "well appointed" with everything you could need provided. Our family group ranged in age from 3 to 88 years, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Along with a pool table, sauna and hot tub facilities in the Mill House accommodation there are great facilities on the site. The children particularly enjoyed the playbarn and play area facilities, and getting to know the chickens.

A group of 13 booked for 3 nights stay to attend a wedding at local Stanford Farm, the house is massive great choice of rooms. Plenty of space to have privacy as well as group activities, beautiful walks and lots near by activity wise..., hot tub and sauna was amazing full facilities, washing machine dryer iron etc kitchen ideal booked an Asda delivery to the door was perfect. We used a local company swains coaches to transfer us from A to B. Our time away went without a hitch. We definitely hope we have a reason to return.

The Mill house was perfect for our 7 adult, 6 children family weekend away. Everyone had their own room with en suites so no queuing for facilities! Every bathroom had super white fluffy towels and soap. There was constant hot water and great underfloor heating downstairs. The house was spotless when we arrived and the hot tub was all set ready to be used. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed for cooking and so nice to have a welcome basket of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits.
The children loved the play barns and seeing the chickens and cats roaming free around the courtyard. We will definitely book here again.

This was our 3rd time at the barn and again we've had a lovely relaxing stay. It is the perfect opportunity for us to collect as a family for some much needed down-time and the barn provides all the space and comfort for this. It is also very well equipped!

We stayed at The Mill House to celebrate an 80th birthday with family whose ages ranged from 90 to 12. The house was large, comfortable and clean. Everything we needed was there. The barns were also great for the kids to play badminton, air hockey etc. Everyone had a great time and the teenagers loved the hot tub.

Loads of space everywhere, rooms were huge, all rooms en suite, facilities for kids were amazing including pool table x2, air hockey, fussball, pacman, small sweet shop, badminton/tennis/football court, swings/climbing frame & plenty of open space for ball games. Hot tub was huge & sauna was an added bonus. Dining & seating areas were more than enough & kitchen catered for more than our group easily. Would definitely return

Spacious, but kitchen would have benefited from an island. Hot tub very enjoyable, but access corridor got wet and slippery.
But overall, an enjoyable week, grandchildren particularly excited to find fresh eggs in the coop some mornings!

Absolutely amazing cottage. Brilliant for large families and with all bedrooms being ensuites it was luxury. The hot tub is the ideal size for the size of the cottage. The outside area is brilliant especially for children. The cottage is equipped for everything and everyone. We felt very safe with a toddler, the addition of stairgates was exactly what we needed.
The owner's are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble.... We're booking again for next year.

All my brothers, sisters in law and sister try to get together for a few day away together. This year is the first time we have stayed in self catering accommodation and it was such a success we are already looking for somewhere similar for next time.
The Mill House was spacious, clean, well equipped and most importantly, given the atrocious weather Shropshire was suffering during our stay, lovely and warm.
It was lovely to be met by Julie and shown around the property and to be given a demonstration of how to use the sauna and hot tub etc.
Thank you to all at Upper House Farm Cottages for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed for 4 days in Dec. The cottage is easily accessible and has plenty of parking space. Cottage is very spacious and clean. Kitchen is well equipped and has large dining table for 12 . The living room has recliners and large TV. Hot tub was great and so was sauna. Bedrooms are good with good quality showers.
Kids games room is really good. Overall an excellent cottage for large family.

We had both the MillHouse and Granary, for 12 adults and 5 children, aged 6-15, and a babe.
The facilities, and accomadation particularly in the MillHouse were excellent. The play barn and badminton court a real bonus.the children were all easily occupied. The weather was fantastic for nov/Dec...cold but dry.
We spent a few hours on Saturday following a www.treasuretrail.co.uk, based on Darwins link to Shrewsbury......we split into groups of 4 each with a booklet, and everyone agreed it was a brilliant way of getting to see Shrewsbury.
There was definite talk of a repeat visit to this complex.

We enjoyed a fourth year staying in the Milk House. It is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We loved having the huge hot tub as well. Great location for lots of walks and sites to visit. We’re back next year.

Another lovely stay at Upper House Farm this time staying in the Mill House, met by Julie on arrival who showed us how everything worked and showed us around the House such an accommodating and lovely Lady, accommodation met all our needs for a relaxing girls weekend there were 10 of us staying and had lots of room, lovely bedrooms, great seating areas, cosy and warm with the underfloor heating, hot tub very spacious and added bonus of the sauna, we also enjoyed a few games of pool. There was everything you needed in the large kitchen and nice we could all sit together while we ate on the large dinning table, loved every minute and will be definitely returning for a third visit.

We have stayed at the Mill House quite a few times over the years and love the place, on the last two occasions ( Sept & our last visit) the wifi in the Mill House has not been working and at best intermittetly. We had family stopping in The Gables, the property next door, where the wifi worked fine. We have raised this with the management team who have assured us that it will be rectified. Having said all that it didn't stop us booking again for next year.

It absolutely exceeded our expectations!! I booked for 8 adults and there was more than enough space for us all. All 6 bedrooms are ensuite and really spacious (even the 2 twin rooms). There are 2 toilets downstairs - one with a shower which is next to the large sauna and the backdoor out to the hot tub. The hot-tub is fabulous - it was pretty much ready to use when we arrived, sufficiently sheltered but with a great view of the night sky and easily accommodated us all. The downstairs is open plan with again plenty of space, the kitchen leads on to a dining area and the living space which also has a pool table. The large dining room table was great for sit down dinners together, and the living room space had some very comfy sofas and a good sized coffee table for games, drinks, or just chilling with DVDs. It is just such a sociable layout. There is also a large table outside near the hot tub and BBQ where we spent all of our mornings and lunch times given the glorious sunshine. The Mill House kitchen has 2 large dishwashers, a large American style fridge freezer, and a wine fridge - great for a large group, and accommodated the large food delivery we had pre-ordered. There is plenty outdoor space too - we brought our own croquet set, and an outdoor badminton set, but they also have 2 other barns with a selection of DVDs, more games, indoor badminton, and a climbing frame and ball pit for children. Did I mention free range eggs from the on site chickens? I would gladly book the Mill House again, and cannot recommend it enough. It is brilliantly equipped and both Julie and Robert were ever so helpful during our stay (even when one of my friends accidentally left with the Mill House keys). Thanks for a wonderfully memorable birthday!

This is our 3rd year back and this place never disappoints. We stayed in the mill house this time which was immaculate, the living space was large and the bedrooms all had en-suites. The children loved playing in both barns and enjoyed getting fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast. Everyone enjoyed seeing Bella and Millie the two dogs who greeted us most morning. We will definitely be back.

A group of seven of us from Nottingham were on a walking holiday in Shropshire. The Millhouse offered a great base for us as it was within easy reach of so many lovely walking areas.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful giving us a very warm welcome.
The accommodation was very spacious and immaculate with cleverly designed seating areas to give people personal space if they wanted it. There was a lovely dining table with room for us all to sit comfortably around and all the bedrooms being ensuite was an added bonus.The weather was mixed while we were there but we had a wonderful week. Thanks to Robert and Julie for all their hard work.We would thoroughly recommend the Millhouse to anyone looking for a larger property to rent.

We had an amazing stay at The Mill House during May Half Term with 8 adults, 4 children and 2 babies celebrating Mums 60th Birthday. The house had everything we needed and the open plan living dining kitchen was great for the kids as it gave them much more space to run around in. The rooms were all of a really good size with en-suites which was an added bonus. The owners arranged for stair gates to be fitted along with 2 cots and high chairs for our arrival. We made plenty of use of the hot tub during our stay as well as a little time in the sauna. The kids absolutely loved the play barn. This was brilliant for all the children, the younger ones loved the soft play and the older ones all the games on offer. The older children loved the tree house and swings in the big barn and we made use of the badminton too. Each morning the kids checked to see if the hens had laid any eggs and brought some back for breakfast. There is plenty to do around this area, everything we did seemed to be 25 mins away. We visited the iron works centre (free only pay a donation) so a good day out, the Park Hall Farm (is a must- so much for kids to do), the Zog Trail at Haughmond Hill (fantastic interactive walk for the kids and nice picnic area), The quarry park (great out door play area and splash zone for kids, beautiful gardens and walks along the river, took a stroll into Shrewsbury which is very pretty), lunch at the Riverside Inn (lovely spot on the river and good food). Mum and dad took a walk up to the Windmill pub which is a short walk directly from the cottages, serving great food! There was plenty more to do and we would definitely return to explore more. The whole family had an amazing week, the owner Rob was so friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome.

We stayed at The Mill House for 3 nights over a bank holiday weekend and had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful welcome and had absolutely everything we needed and more besides!

We had a 14 YO, 3.5YO, 18Mo, 7MO and 2MO with us. We made use of the travel cots and highchair and the older kids loved the play barn and climbing set.

The Hot Tub and sauna was very popular with everyone and collecting eggs from the hens was a treat that the kids (and grown ups!) really enjoyed.

The local area is lovely and we enjoyed a walk to the Stiper Stones on the Saturday and explored the Deer park on the Sunday.

We have already recommended The Mill House to friends!

A fabulous space for a large multi generation party - especially with a bathroom for each bedroom. Open plan downstairs meant people could still be in touch when cooking, lounging , playing pool. Two dishwashers and two kettles shows we’ll thought out accommodation for large groups. The sauna and hot tub were well used during the stay.

This was our 3rd year at the Mill House, which is just perfect for our group of 6 couples. We love everything about the place, especially the hot tub!!! Julie the Manger and Robert the owner always give a warm welcome. You can imagine the logistics for storing food and drink for 12. The Mill House covers this beautifully with a separate wine cooler and big American style fridge. We tend to book the local pub for the Fri night (Ye Old Hand & Diamond - fab food and beer) and cook steaks on the Sat. There are some gorgeous walks in the area and I've personally booked the Mill House for my Dad's 80th later in the year. Love it!!!

We were a family of 13 with ages from 10 months to grandparents, and the accommodation was perfect for our needs.

Bedrooms, all en suite, were perfect. Towels and bed linen were very good quality.

Eating areas, both inside and outside, worked very well. We only BBQ'd twice, but here again, it worked very well - need to buy coals and firelighters.

Beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was reasonably well kitted out (plates, cutlery etc were good).

Play barns were a great success, and all the kids loved them.

Chickens too, performed and provided fabulous eggs. Children were fascinated.

Only criticism was the shower temperature controls in all rooms - very poor and needed close supervision for children.

Oh, and we never had time to get to Ellie's Vintage Tea rooms (1 mile away and into Wales; only open Wed - Saturday) - just too busy (Bridgnorth - Kidderminster railway; Shrewsbury; Chester Zoo, Chirk Castle - packed schedule).

Local hosts (Julie and Robert) are very helpful and clearly like having residents. Do let them know what you are doing - they can help a lot.

The Mill House couldn't have been more perfect for our extended family. Mum and dad, myself and my three siblings, and kids in their 20s, teens and a toddler. The facilities are excellent, and the play barn, the pool table and hot tub were well used. The house is furnished beautifully, and there's so much space downstairs. All bedrooms are pretty much the same size, which helps when deciding who sleeps where! And so much to do in the surrounding area. We'll have to go back again and again. A big thumbs up from all of us.

We have stayed at Upper House Farm cottages twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed both visits being made to feel very welcome. The Mill House with 6 bedrooms and en suite bathrooms was excellent. Family members were in two other cottages but we all celebrated in the Mill House and had lots of room for 22 adults and 6 children having a sit down meal. Extra tables were provided by the owners. The children enjoyed the play room and barn and of course collecting eggs each day. Walking Millie the dog was also very popular. The adults also enjoyed the games, pool table and hot tubs.

9 friends stayed at the mill house to celebrate 2 birthdays . Wonderful venue we visited Shrewsbury and Ironbridge previously stayed in the bull barn as part of rambling group so knew what a wonderful place upper house Farm is . Great location, great accommodation, Robert and the team are excellent host's. They are always on hand to help with anything, our group of 6 couples just love the set-up and we've already booked in for 2019. We start the weekend off by using the courtesy mini bus The Olde Hand & Diamond offer (a discretionary tip is appreciated by the driver). We make use of all the facilities, our favorite being the massive hot tub.

Our 3rd visit, this year we only had 18 so booked the Mill House and The Granary next door.
Just as good as previous years with great all ensuite accommodation and no one gets a bad room. Plenty of seating for the whole group to join together along with plenty of plates and cutlery for both groups to use tha Mill House.
2 dishwashers are a bonus for big numbers too!
Robert was on hand to sort out any problems but there wasn't anything major wrong anyway.
We prebooked the local pub at Coedway and used their own minibus to transport us all there and back as usual. Very handy so everyone gets a drink and doesn't have to drive,
Collecting your own eggs from the resident chickens was enjoyed a lot too.
Hot tubs and pool table, games room and newspapers , everything is thought of. Thank you

If you want a luxurious, well-equipped base from which to visit the many attractions of Shropshire, you couldn`t do better than The Mill House. And if you want to stay put, there are plenty of things to do on the premises - badminton, pool, table football, sauna, hot tub. Thoroughly recommended.

We are a group of adult friends that visit large houses every year. We have stayed in many different houses in many counties. We all agree that this is by far the best for space and value. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the area is lovely. The house, the grounds and all equipment is of a very good standard and nice to see it all looks like new. Loads of space for everyone to get together or have a quite moment. We would recommend this to anyone and would go back again.

Amazing space and size, more than enough room for 12 people. Fabulous facilities children loved the play barn and the honesty shop is great for those silly things you forget! Jacuzzi & Sauna are amazing, cottage is in a great location for days out but there is plenty to do on site. Can't wait to come back. X

After having this place recommended to us from my brother we stayed with my in-laws in the Mill House as 8 Adults and 1 Baby for 3 nights.

The property itself was excellent, clean and loads of room for us to play games and enjoy time together to celebrate a 60th birthday.
The owners were great keeping in contact beforehand to ensure we had travel cot and highchair available to us was easy.
We didn't use the sauna but used the hot tub which was fantastic.
Having the games room for the little one was nice, with a variety of table football, air hockey, board games, books & DVD's.
Can't fault the property, kitchen had everything we needed, the honesty shop help us with a few bits we forgot to put on the food delivery order.

Only one element not scored excellent and that is the location, although this is primarily due to the fact that we had a baby in a pushchair and trying to get a good walk in we found difficult. If you were all on foot then I believe a walk into the deer park would have been possible, with a pub stop along the way.

This accommodation was perfect for all our wedding guests, particularly the bridal party. Everyone at Upper House was so helpful and we had a perfect three days. Classy high standard accommodation at s. Dry reasonable price. Thank you everyone.

A wonderful find. Our third visit to these modern, well converted barns.
All have quality fittings but at the same time are family friendly.
Robert, Betty-Lou and Julie really do care about their guests and will do everything they can to make your stay special.
Little ones enjoy Jimmy's Play Barn and the big barn.
This place is a welcome antidote to the commercialism of holiday parks.
Nearby Shrewsbury is definitely worth a visit, as is a walk in the deer park opposite the accommodation.
Totally recommended for all party sizes from 2-12 people.

This is our third visit to Upper House Farm cottages staying in the six bedroom Mill House. Our previous visits have been with couples but this time as a family we took 2 children aged 9 and 4. We could not have had a better weekend with great weather, fabulous accommodation, super location, and plenty to keep the children entertained in both the play barns. Not once did we have a long face of boredom from our 9 year old nephew or a tantrum from our 4 year old granddaughter as they were perfectly happy and can't wait to go back. The Millhouse has everything we needed to enjoy a great celebration and the large hot tub is always a bonus. We are always made welcome by everyone there and nothing is too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone for a great place to stay at any time of the year.

We stayed at the Mill House with 5 other couples for 3 nights from Fri the 23rd of Feb and we had a great time. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and all have their own bathrooms. It also has an amazing hot tub and sauna. Juile the Manager and Robert the owner are always on hand to offer assistance. Following their recommendation we booked a table at The Old Hand and Diamond pub, for the group on the Fri evening. We were not disappointed, the food was gorgeous and they also offer a courtesy mini bus service to and from The Mill House. Safe to say we've already booked The Mill House for next year.

2nd time at The Mill House (also with The Granary and the Arches) and have already booked again for next year.
We are a badminton group who go away every year to walk, drink, socialise and generall enjoy ourselves. There are usually 24 of us and the accomodation here is perfect with all rooms ensuite and the Mill House is big enough for everyone to congregate in.
We all had a sit down meal on the Friday and enjoyed playing pool and using the hot tub and sauna.
Would greatly recommend these cottage to any large group for value for money and facilities.

What can I say, fantastic house had everything plus more.

The Mill House had everything that we needed, as a party of 12 adults and had loads of room.
Kitchen - Excellent large fridge freezer and cooker every utensil that you needed, brilliant long table for us all to sit at
Lounge - Well the men didn't really leave the lounge unless food was on the table, the pool table was in constant use by them
The log burner was going, lots of spacious room for us all to sit and enjoyed the wine.
Bedrooms - Every room was set out excellently all had en-suite which is a bonus as most properties that I've stayed in you have to share. Large soft towels provided.
Hot tub - Well spent quite a lot of time in here just relaxing and chatting
Sauna - Took about 30 mins to warm up but did the job.
The property had Wi-Fi which in this day and age was a godsend
Owners / Julie what lovely people couldn't do enough for you
Can't wait to go back in February

We booked 4 cottages including the Mill House which allowed for our group of 30 mixed age family members to all be together. The individual cottages have a beautiful private garden and hot tub, are modern, clean and warm. Lots of ensuite rooms. Great play areas for children and adults alike in a peaceful setting. The welcome was warm, nothing too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate recommending to groups small or large.

A large group of us recently stayed at The Mill House and the Arches to celebrate my Mum's 50th birthday.

The cottages are amazing and by far the best accommodation that we have ever stayed in. There was something for everyone to do; my 3 year old nieces loved the play barns, my 7 year old cousin adored Millie and Bella (and the fact she could take them for a walk), the teenage boys played badminton to their hearts content and the "older crew" loved the hot tubs!

However, notwithstanding the amazing facilities, it was Julie who really made our stay special. She was on hand for months before we arrived to help with the booking, offer advice on supermarkets/things to do in the area and throughout our stay she was only a call away. Nothing was too much trouble - even finding Millie so my 7 year old cousin could have a cuddle and say goodbye!

We had such a fantastic time that we have already booked again for next year!

We stayed in the Mill House to ensure all of our family from around the Uk could stay together. The venue and the facilities were as advertised and we're all surberb. The six ensuite rooms were ideal, the pool table , hot tub and steam room were all well used by the family daily. The two barns for the children were brilliant and were well used by the 3 -15 year olds.

We spent a family holiday in the Mill House to celebrate Grandad's birthday. There were 6 adults and 6 children, the youngest being 5. The house is so spacious that it did not feel crowded. The children loved the play barns which are close by. Our pool playing skills have improved! We all enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. What a treat for the adults after a busy day and the children are in bed! Robert, Betty-Lou Julie and staff made us feel so welcome. Thanks to you all.

This is our 3rd year returning now, we have been coming in January, which can be a depressing month, I don't know how any of is would make it through without this break, it's so easy as you are well looked after but left to enjoy your holiday as you wish at the same time, the facilities are excellent and the houses make for a really nice social environment.
