The Old Stables is our single atorey cottage at Newhill Farm. It has a Double Bedroom with a King Sized 4 poster bed, a Twin Bedroom and 2 Bathrooms. All of the living accommodation is on ground floor level and there is a lovely open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area with a cosy log burner. The cottage is very light and airy, with high ceilings and lovely views to the surrounding countryside. STL Licence No. FI00358F

We had a great time and have now been visiting the same cottages for 4 years with family and with friends. The facilities are brilliant from swimming pool, hot tubs, tennis courts and lots more.
There are many walks and dogs are welcome at the cottages. There are many small towns to visit that are within 30 min drive away. The owners are great and very helpful and I would recommend this venue to all to visit .

Kate and Ian are truly the perfect hosts. Committed to giving great service but at the same time allowing guests the freedom to enjoy their stay in private. The support team were also very friendly.

The location is truly amazing with miles of pristine forest to wander, young deer to watch from the hot tub every morning and red squirrels in sight, if you are patient and observant.

The facilities are also excellent - with hot tubs, indoor pool - with lovely view of stags on the adjacent deer farm - and a games room with table tennis, table football and pool. There is also a wonderful outdoor tennis court which commands magnificent views south.

I have already spoken to my grown up children about coming again and it may become an annual pilgrimage

This is our 5th stay at Newhills and it was wonderful again. Kids love the pool, daily tennis & forest walks. Sitting outside in the hot tub is bliss. Houses have lots of extras to make the stay as easy as possible. We will be back.

Booked The Old Stables last minute for a Christmas Getaway .
Newhill Farm Cottages is our happy place there is nothing to fault ..We have stayed in all 3 properties and every visit we know we are going into a spotlessly clean cottage with everything provided for a self catering stay.
Love how all 3 cottages now have their own hot tubs. . Lots of lovely walks right on your door step.
Swiming pool and games room are a added bonus .
Looking forward to returning in March to the Old Cart House.

I had booked all three Cottages at Newhill Farm, Horse Mill, Old Cart House and Old Stable for the family for my wife's 60th Birthday and we were all totally delighted with the excellent accommodation and facilities. Our party included my 3 year old grandson who had a ball with the Swimming Pool, Hot Tub, Games Room and Tennis Court. There were also beautiful walks around the area through the forest. The booking was very professionally handled and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. I am sure individual cottage bookings could also be on the cards for future bookings but it was extra special to have the sole use of the facilities when all 3 cottages booked. I wish to thank Kate and Ian and we will definitely be back in the future.

We loved our week at Newhill Farm. The cottage was lovely: comfortable, clean and well equipped. Kate was very helpful and gave us good tips. The location is quiet, with some nice walks nearby, but be prepared to drive a fair bit. The pool was a great amenity—we swam in it nearly every day.

The cottage was practically perfect. Our mistake was bringing a teething two year old! He was inconsolable. Sadly, we weren't really able to relax and had to leave a day early. We did manage to catch a dip in the hot tub before we left though, and that was pure bliss.

Although I've lived in some picturesque locations, I was really taken with the views. The walk along the edge of the forest was just stunning. I was also highly amused by the fact that I was still able to get a WiFi signal several hundred yards away from the cottage while facing some very dense woodland.

The location was remote enough to enjoy the isolation but still within easy reach of a good-sized Co-op, some decent takeaways, and some places to visit.

The accommodation was excellent, clean and spacious. We stayed there as a family of three with a dog. The property is well equipped with everything you need and including something’s you didn’t think you needed. The facilities are spot on. The owners are lovely, very friendly and accommodating. The family booked all 3 cottages which was a fabulous way to enjoy the amenities offered. It was very hot so the swimming pool was fantastic to cool down. Walks in the forest were enjoyed along with BBQs, games room and tennis court..

Every family has its own cottage and the swimming pool and the play area for the grandchildren were ideal (also for the parents and grandparents )

My family and I hired all three cottages for a long weekend in March. The cottages had everything we needed for our party and the leisure facilities were fantastic. All our group from the oldest at 66 to the youngest at 20 months really enjoyed using the games room and pool as well as making the most of the beautiful countryside all around.

We booked all three cottages for a family celebration. The location was superb. Pitmedden Forest right on the door step. And so much facilites on hand in the cottages. The family loved the swimming pool. Tennis was an unexpected hit with us all. What a superb court. Our three nights simply flew in, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Kate is an absolute gem of a host. We are already planning a return.

This was my third time at the cottages. Previously staying with a group of friends, this time we had all three cottages for a week to stay as a family ranging from ages 1 to 90, with two dogs and had an amazing time. The cottages are very well equipped and the facilities are brilliant. The pool and hot tubs were enjoyed by all throughout our stay. The location is great, you can spend time just enjoying the peace and quiet, using the pool, games room, tennis courts, go country walks, there are highland cows and a deer farm minutes away, but its also within driving distance to lots of attractions/activities. We visited the Deer Centre and Craigtoun Country Park which was great for both kids and adults. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating through the whole booking process as we had to rearrange our original trip due to covid. They have considered everything you may need while on a self catering holiday and have created a lovely place to make memories with family and friends. We hope to stay again soon!

Wonderful surroundings for a family holiday. We were a family of 7 (my husband and I grandparents) we shared one cottage with our unmarried daughter while our married daughter and her family had a separate cottage. The location was ideal and safe for the children who were in the swimming pool every day. The private hot tub was excellent. The town of Auchtermuchty is uninspiring but the nearby town of Falkland is well worth a visit as is Falkland Palace.

Stayed here before but in a different cottage, Weather wasn’t the best but spent time in the pool and hot tub with our granddaughter. Will be better once games room back up and running but overall had a lovely quiet relaxing weekend !

Absolutely lovely cottage with outstanding facilities. Stayed here mid week with my husband and two boys aged 4/6 and had a fantastic time. The pool is lovely and warm , my kids had a brilliant time swimming every day. Right on the door step is miles and miles of Forrest where we did bike rides and I went running. Totally recommend this place and we will definitely return .

Very peaceful & quiet location, but also not to far from anything,
( sightseeing, shopping, eating out, etc) .
Nice forest walks on the doorstep.
The owner,Kate, was there to greet us on arrival and make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The swimming pool & hot tubs were well looked after and kept very clean . Felt very relaxed on leaving & would definitely go back again.

We had an amazing stay at all 3 cottages. There was 10 of us and 2 dogs and had sole use of all the facilities. Kate & Ian were lovely people, introduced themselves and left you to your weekend. Great fun had by all. Will definitely be back

We were there to celebrate our golden wedding with family and friends. We rented all three cottages and found them fabulous , had everything we needed . Having the three cottages gave everyone their own space .
Facilities were well used , pool , games room and tennis courts , even in the rain .

My fourth year visiting Newhill farm cottages.I visit with work friends and each year we have booked all three cottages.l have now stayed in all three cottages and the very high standard with regard to condition comfort,fascilities applies to all three.
The location is perfect and there is a great choice with regard to how you might want to spend your time ranging from sitting in front of the log fire,enjoying the hotub or going for walks beside the deer farm, to mention just a few.
The owners could not be more welcoming or helpful.

We have stayed in these cottages regularly and they never fail to dissappoint! There is so much to do and see. We dont leave the place other than to walk the dogs in the nearby woods. The facilities are 2nd to none! Kate is such a lovely host and is always on hand if need be.

We stayed here with our two boys aged 7 and 3 and I can honestly say it was all of our favourite holiday we've been on so far. From the accommodation to the leisure facilities everything was just perfect for us all. The boys never tired from the excitement of the swimming pool all to themselves and loved the games room. The surroundings were tranquil and I could have spent hours exploring the forest on our doorstep had the boys not wanted to be in the pool all day long. We most defienetly will be back in the future. We had an excellent holiday at Newhill Farm and Katie and Ian have certainly done a wonderful job. They seem actually good as concerned that everything is as good as they can make it. People are returning time and again. The dog had a great holiday and took to the place well. There was a garden to play in but he spent loads of time being taken to the forest just opposite and to the lovely beaches. The facilities in the cottage are excellent and so clean and well maintained. The lovely orchard of the owners at the rear is wonderful for watching from the windows. So much wildlife and the red squirrel comes daily. Swimming pool is luxury and clean changing areas. Also very private. Games room well looked after.....even bats and balls for table tennis.....not the usual thing at all in our experience.

Another great stay at Newhill Farm.Cottages this is our 'Happy Place' . This was our first stay in the Stables .normally in Horse Mill Cottage . The Stables like Horsemill Cottage. was beautifully clean and kitted out to the highest standard.. We are fortunate enough to go on a lot of short breaks throughout the year and the best sleep is always at Newhill.. super comfy beds. My only concern with the Stables.. is the seating,.. we went as a family of 3 which was fine, there was a settee (3 seater) and a bucket chair.. but I think if there had been 4 of us ( especially adults] we would have struggled for seats. Gorgeous quirky cottage for a family holiday.. Can't enough of this place

Thank you for your positive feedback about the beds, we get lots of great comments about the mattresses, so it is always nice to know. The Old Stables is a 4 person cottage with open plan sitting for 4 in the lounge area (the large 3 seater sofa and the separate armchair for 1). Horse Mill Cottage is certainly more spacious, being a 6 person cottage, so I would imagine that you would have noticed the space and seating differences a bit. Our other 4 person cottage, The Old Cart House, has a different layout again - it has a separate sitting room which you might like and may be worth considering too. I would be very happy to show you round it any time. Kate & Ian

We had a nice relaxing week at the Old Stables. It was ideal for us for touring the area, visits to Cupar and St.Andrews were good plus the weather was kind to us as well.
Anyone with kids will find this place ideal with the indoor swimming pool and the games room.
In the morning there are deer and pheasants in the field, and red squirrels runnIng around in the orchard out in the back garden. The owners had left us some welcome gifts, fresh apples from the orchard and fresh eggs from the hens, and a bottle of wine.
We will visit again.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Stables Cottage. The accommodation was spotless and perfect for our requirements. Although quite rural, we loved the location; being so close to woodland walks and having views over to the Red Deer Farm.
The facilities are fantastic. Everyday we had the pool to ourselves and the tennis court is of such a good standard. The children really enjoyed the games room.
We found the location to be great for easy travelling to Dundee and Glasgow.
We have already booked again for next year.

We were very pleased with our accommodation and the facilities. The swimming pool and hot tubs were excellent. There was a hiccup with our TV. This happened on the Sunday and when we left on the Friday, it still had not been resolved. This was a pity because at New Year , the TV can be a serious form of entertainment. the location of the accommodation meant that it was not really possible to go out in the evenings (unless some-one was prepared not to drink) and the dark evenings were a bit long without any TV. Although the owners were apologetic, no other gesture was made. Fortunately, we could use the BBC iplayer.
The weather was not great, which meant that we were indoors more than we had planned. However, despite this, we had a relaxing time , although we did think about coming home early.

We have rented a number of self-catering properties in the past and this was up at the top of the pile. With excellent facilities for all and a cottage with everything you could ever need I can only praise the owners for what they provide. The location is ideal and the surrounding countryside a joy to be in.

As a party of 3 plus small dog we stayed in the Old Stables for 1 week fro8 6th October 2017.
The accommodation is superb with beautiful views all round, extremely clean and comfortable and such a pleasure to stay in.
A huge amount of thought has gone in to equipping the cottage and garden, also the games room ( we did not use but looked at and though the cupboards of toys for children was a very thoughtful touch) pristine swimming pool and hot tub.

As an added bonus the weather was good, chilly but sunny.

We can't speak highly enough of our stay at Newhill Farm Cottages. Our cottage, The Old Stables was ideal for a family with two young children. The cottage was comfortable, immaculate and very well-equipped. We loved the view of the apple trees! The enclosed garden was fantastic.
The other amenities on offer at Newhill Farm really made for a memorable stay. The pool, games room and tennis court were all a hit with the kids and we hope one day to get back and have a chance to relax in one of the hot tubs! The standard of the facilities was unlike any other self-catering we have tried.
Oh, and we certainly appreciated the milk and wine upon arrival - thank you!
Kate and Ian were very welcoming and helpful.
We will definitely return and have been raving about it to anyone that will listen!

The accommodation is situated fairly centrally in Fife and boasts excellent facilities, swimming pool, tennis court, games room and hot tubs. It is clean, very well equipped and extremely well presented throughout, the owners have thought of everything, even providing a telephone paid for by honesty box due to the poor mobile phone reception in the area. Outside there is a small garden area with garden furniture and a barbecue, to the side of this is ample parking for two cars. The only criticism I could possibly offer is that the living area could be a bit bigger, but this is far outweighed by the many plusses it offers. So much so that we intend to return within the next few years.

Had a lovely weeks stay at the Old Stables. The children loved the Pool, games room and Tennis court. Was very peaceful and the amenities made for a very relaxing break while the children had plenty to keep themselves entertained. The Old Stables was very clean and comfy and very spacious. Only complaint would be that there was no tumble dryer available. With a pool and Spa/ Hot tub a tumble dryer would have made things a little easier especially with children in and out of the pool, sometimes twice in the day. Will definitely love to go back.

This was our second stay at the old stables and have enjoyed it just as much again,can find no fault at all and it was a great pleasure to stay here again

This weekend away consisted of three generations of our Family and each and every one had a great time. We made good use of the tennis court and the swimming pool. The weather was good which was a bonus. would go back again.

We had a very enjoyable stay at new hills farm cottages. Loved the quiet rural location next to the woods. The facilities were great for all of us; including our 4 year old who loved the swimming pool.
We were made to feel welcome by the friendly owners who live nearby, but were left to enjoy our break.
Good location for other family friendly attractions too :-)
