First stayed here in 2010 and every year since! The original owners were a hard act to follow, but the new ones have certainly kept up the high standards. Unfortunately the weather this year was not too kind (!) but still a great week.
The view from the lodge is second to none, always something to watch - boats of all types passing through, the ferry, gannets, seals etc and an otter a few times in the water or out on the grass.
Well worth looking up the history of the island before a visit, there are a couple of Facebook pages.
Being a small island you can see it all in half a day, but much better to take your time. A small shop on the island and the Atlantic Isles Centre (in walking distance) who do excellent food, but not every day.
Lots of wildlife to see - otters, gannets, ravens, golden eagles, buzzards, lots of sea birds and also saw a sea eagle twice.
Nearby you have Oban and a fast RIB boat ride with Seafari through the whirlpool is recommended!
Hope to be back next year!

This was a super relaxing break, viewing Cuan Sound and all it’s human and animal activity from a comfortable deck, coffee in hand. The accommodation was spotless and well equipped. The site was quiet and perfectly situated. We were 4 (larger) adults and the single beds were on the small side and the bedrooms were teeny tiny so we needed to store cases and stuff in the car but that was really a very slight inconvenience. There’s not a whole lot to see on the Island but you can hop on the ferry (ably overseen by Skye the ferry dog) and explore Seil and beyond. Great holiday, we’ll be back!

This is our second stay at Sunnybrae and, again, it didn’t disappoint! The lodge was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Mike & Jenn always pop by and check everything is ok and then are just there if you need anything. The island is spectacular - particularly so in the glorious weather we were lucky to have! We have no hesitation in recommending Sunnybrae for the perfect holiday to totally relax and re-charge.

If you want peace and tranquility with amazing views and lots of wildlife then sunnybrae is the most perfect holiday you’ll ever have,me and my husband have been holidaying in sunnybrae for the last 7 years and call it our happy place,The owners are a blessing to the caravan park and do an awesome job if you need they will provide and have always got time to talk to you,the lodge is spacious comfortable clean with breathtaking views over the cuan,HIGHLY recommend sunnybrae 100%

Great lodge and a view to die for! Only thing I would change is a small freezer as the ice box in the fridge is limiting as the shops are a ferry and a few miles away.
Have booked again for next year!

This is the Second time we have stayed over New Year at SunnyBrae.
The location is beautiful so peaceful and quiet with everything changing views.
The lodge was different to our previous one but still immaculate and so comfortable everything is supplied
The beds are excellent and gas heating on timer so always toasty and water hot .
Mike is an excellent host he keeps in touch regards your booking ,welcomes you and let’s you do your own thing for the break.

From the instant I started the booking process with Mike, I knew Sunnybrae was somewhere we would feel welcome. He couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. The situation and orientation of the vans provides a beautiful outlook from each one and allows for easy otter and dolphin spotting - both of which we were delighted to see. Gunnera was very clean for our arrival and was equipped with everything we needed. It is a peaceful site with many walks, long and not so long, available from your doorstep. The 360 degree views from the trig points are amazing. There are many interesting and picturesque places to visit in the surrounding area if you want to leave Luing and explore but we loved the peace and quiet and slow pace of Luing so much that we didn’t feel the need to venture off the island very much. We found the folks in the local shop very friendly and the Atlantic centre is well worth a visit. Lovely local crafts and great food too, all served by very welcoming and friendly staff. I have no hesitation in recommending a holiday here.

We had a wonderful stay as usual, this being our 3rd holiday at Sunnybrae. Mike and Jen are there if you need them, otherwise leave you alone to get on with your holiday. We stayed in one of the lodges this time which was great, nice and cosy and as always, very clean. We had a lovely and relaxing stay but with plenty of walking. The Atlantic Centre is a must visit for food, the cakes are delightful and the staff are lovely. We saw plenty of wildlife while out and about and Otters on 2 separate occasions. We can't wait to go back!

We recently had an amazing holiday experience staying at Sunnybrae Caravan park. The park has a lovely setting and is so convenient for the ferry - you drive off the ferry and within 30 seconds you've arrived at your destination. The owner was there to greet us and to make sure we had everything we needed. The lodge was very clean and so well equipped - it had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. There is a really relaxed feel about the place and nothing's a problem for the host and there are a range of facilities including washing machines, dryers, bike hire and a large collection of dvds (weather was so lovely we didn't need these!). The views from the lodge are stunning - so close to the water and was lovely watching the sail boats drift by while spotting the seals, range of birds and trying to catch sight of the dolphins (some residents did - we didn't!). Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

We had an excellent week at Sunnybrae peaceful and plenty of walking.
It was good to explore the island it the first time we have been to one of the slate islands, although rugged it had some amazing sites.
The caravan park was an excellent place to relax with great views of sea and wildlife.
I would recommend the spot to anyone who's looking for a chill time.

We had a lovely few days at Sunnybrae staying in one of the lodges. Gunnera lodge was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It was great that they use eco-friendly cleaning products and that the handwash is fragrance free - something that is important if you have allergies.

There were beautiful views from the lodge and a real variety of landscapes to explore nearby. The park was well maintained with a mix of grassy areas, wildflower meadow, trees and shrubs - the old quarry area behind the caravans and lodges is like a secret garden!

Mike and Jenn were very welcoming, as were the rest of the islanders.

The only problem? We couldn't stay longer!

We had a lovely week at Sunny Brae Caravan Park. The site is stunning and the lodge was gorgeous. During this pandemic we felt safe and cleanliness was considered top of the agenda with spotless caravans, hand sanitiser stations around the site and helpful instructions. Lots of considered thought for everyone’s safety. The site and the Island are beautiful and we will definitely come again. Well done Mike and Jenn for making our break perfect!

Myself and my family had a lovely short break at Sunnybrae. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, modern and comfortable. The Island is very quiet but we had a great time beach combing at Cullipool and jumping the waves on the beach. We also had a delicious takeaway lunch at the Atlantic Islands Centre. We spent a lovely day in Oban which is only about half an hour away where we spotted seals on a boat trip. A very restful break.

We booked this at the last minute as we were struggling to get a pitch space with our motorhome due to Covid restrictions. Everything was provided, steriliser, handwash, bedding etc, and all contact carried out in a safe manner following Covid guidelines. The lodge was immaculate.

The view from the lodge was breathtaking. You could sit all day and just stare in amazement, seals, otters, sea birds all in front of you. Although we do a lot of touring, this was our first time on the Isle of Luing. You can watch the ferry making its journey over to the island from the lodge. The island itself is fascinating and well worth a visit. If wanted you can hire electric bikes from the site.

Please visit Sunnybrae. It has everything and more. Just go!!

Stunning location.......spotted seals and dolphins within hours of arriving, both Mike + Jenn made us feel very welcome.
Accomodation was lovely and clean, kitchen well stocked. The bothy was ace, full of DVDs and home cooked meals/BBQ food.
The squat lobster tails were fun too! We will definately be returning next year!

An absolutely amazing place with spotless, modern and comfortable caravans. Lots of information, extras and help when needed. I came with my two year old and four year old and it was perfect, lots of activities and space at Sunnybrae for them to play. Would highly recommend and definitely want to come back. What a special place!

What a lovely little site on the edge of the water...even though it rained all week it still didnt dissapoint...watching the seals swimming and playing in the water...it was mesmerizing...even watching the car ferry going backwards and forwards...saddo`s arent we.? and went on the Sea Life "Whale-Watch" trip from just 10 mins up the road...sadly we didn`t see whales but went on the edge of the Coryvechyan Whirlpool .. ( a scary moment) but so exciting...a fab holiday and restful

Very happy with this booking. The site is on an amazing location, holiday home was spotlessly clean. Mike gave us a welcome and left us to get on with it but we knew any problems and he was close at hand. We used as a base to tour round, so good to get back at night to quiet and peaceful soroundings. Would definitely stay again but spend more time on the island itself as a lot on there and neighbouring islands we missed.

Well at first I stayed at Otter, which was located right next the sea, after a week I moved to gunnera, right on the other side of the track. So people passing by could look into my caravan. But that didn't matter, the view from Gunnera was fantastic.

Great location, right on ocean. Caravans are in great condition and have all necessary items for cooking/cleaning. The ferry has frequent crossings and wasn't an issue. The island is easy to walk around. Both Luing and this caravan spot are highly recommended.

The cleanliness of the caravan was a delight for a mum of two energetic boys to arrive to. I didn't have to clean a thing. The oven, microwave and bathroom (shower only) were spotless. I'm really fussy on clean and tidy so this was a MAJOR plus for me. We all slept well. There were enough blankets etc. The gas fire in the caravan kept us warm and toasty during slightly chillier evenings and it didn't take long to warm the bedrooms with the wall switch heaters in there. We used the car which you can park right next to the caravan as a store room for boots and coats etc. The bike hire is excellent. I have a slight health problem at the moment so the fact that EVERYTHING was in order and easy to do/easy to get to made my holiday wonderful and that's thanks to the brilliant organisation and warm welcome from the hosts. Sunnybrae is heaven on earth, a real gem! Tranquil, peaceful, stunning views, a place to relax away from the rest of the world....a real hideaway.The caravan was value for money +, it's location is fantastic, condition and comfort excellent, spotlessly clean and our hosts are two of the loveliest, friendliest people one could wish to meet. The island is rugged with gorgeous views,simply stunning.....highly recommended.

It was a great holiday. The caravan was spotless. It was good to be able to have our dog with us. The management came and welcomed us when we arrived and was always on call if we needed anything. The view from our caravan was breath taking
