A fantastic short stay in Otter at Sunnybrae on the wonderful isle of Luing. Otter was clean, comfortable with the most spectacular sea front view, so close to the sea you could almost be on a boat.
We weren't fortunate to see an Otter but we saw seals, herons, curlews, gannets and shags. It is a most magical place to stay and we will be returning for a longer stay in the future.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay , this is the ideal place to stay .
Dog friendly too , I would not recommend if you have young children as there is so little for them to either at Sunnybrae or the island itself

Visited 25th May to 31st May with a group of fellow divers & families. We've been coming here for 20+ years. The location is amazing, right next to Cuan Sound, with views to match. Not the greatest weather while we were there, but not a lot anyone could do about that. Plenty of wildlife around including herons, families of ducks & geese & the local otter made an appearance on the jetty.

Stayed at Sunnybrae for a week and was not disappointed. Caravan was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The location right beside the water was excellent. Views amazing. Paul, Sue, Tiani and Brett were very welcoming and friendly always willing to spend time with their guests. On site they had provided laundry and drying facilities and also available if required was some games and dvds. Available to buy was sausages, burgers and rolls. The burgers were delicious. The island itself is remote but very relaxing with amazing views. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins on the day we arrived. I would recommend anyone thinking about booking to do so. I don’t think you would be disappointed.

We arrived to find the accommodation absolute spotless. The site itself is also beautifully kept. The location was fantastic looking out to sea. Very peaceful with views you could never tire off. The home itself had absolutely everything you could need for your stay and was warm and comfortable. The owners did everything they could to make the stay fantastic taking time to provide local information and recommendations. We really appreciated the supply of a BBQ whilst we were there. It was nice to see good recycling facilities and the use of environmentally friendly products in the van. The site is pet friendly which was important to us. Overall, it was everything we had hoped for and we will undoubtably be back. Well done to the team, you are doing a great job.

A great few days watching the wildlife, weather and variety of vessels sailing by. Always a relaxing location to visit. Catch the Cuan ferry and 25 mins later you are in Oban. Explore the island of Luing good food at the Atlantic centre, some good walks around the island. Highlights of this visit, otters were spotted on three different days, close encounter when one came out of the water in front of the caravan.

Our stay at Sunnybrae was superb. The location is incredible, the holiday home was comfortable, perfectly clean and well equipped, and Mike (the owner) was great. Luing is a wonderful place to visit and I cannot recommend Sunnybrae enough.

The perfect place to stay to escape the daily work stresses. Was so relaxing that we totally forgot about our jobs. Amazing views and scenery to wake up to and throughout the day. Sightings of otters, seals and dolphins. Dog friendly with a number of great walks. Never left the island and hardly used the car. Clean and comfortable caravan with everything you need. Highly recommended.

...was to be had at Sunnybrae. It was, I think, our 6th stay since 2014 and we were as satisfied as always! Easy booking, easy check-in and like new accommodation in fantastic settings make one forget the long tri to get there (I from Norfolk, my kayak buddy from Germany). The Caravan is spacious for 2 (the twin beds are a bit on the narrow and short side if you're over 6ft and maybe 14 stone I reckon ), the kitchen well equipped and for cold autumn evenings there's a fireplace (we didn't need). The park is quiet, right on the waters edge which is ideal to launch our kayaks, there is a drying room and BBQ are supplied too.

Decided last minute to find a caravan for that weekend and booked Sunnybrae. Was the perfect choice in the ideal location. The caravan was spotless and very comfortable with everything we needed for the stay.
Our caravan was right on the water front (otter caravan) and the views were amazing. We explored the island on our 2nd day, there is a shop and a visitor centre that sells lunch and dinner.
Beautiful place and thoroughly recommend. We will definitely return for another stay.

This is our 2nd visit to Sunnybrae and Luing. It is literally a little spot of heaven.
We love it ! We filmed otters , dolphins and cormorants from our caravan window , watched the swirling tides with fascination and chilled listening to the birds and the sounds of the waves.
Mike & Jess are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble.
5* holiday and we will be back

Lovely little site , and caravans with everything you could need

We had a family holiday at Sunnybrae in October 2021. We had booked several caravans on the site and I stayed in Otter.
The location is brilliant - right on the edge of the water and I spent a long time just sitting looking out at the view - watching the boats go by and looking out for sealife, birds etc. It was especially nice at sunrise as the sun rose above the hills across the water.
The caravan itself was lovely - very clean and well equipped. Mike was super friendly and helpful - he very quickly provided me with an alternative heater when I had a problem with the first one. Never had any issue getting the caravan warm and cosy.
We loved going for walks on the island. The Atlantic Islands Centre in Cullipool does nice cake and a takeaway service on a Friday (we had really good fish and chips).
The ferry service is right next to the caravan park so getting to and from the island was so easy.
Overall a really lovely holiday - comfortable accommodation and lots of happy memories for us all.
Would definitely return again.

Fantastic visit to the site stayed in Otter and it lived up to its name. The waters flowing past provided the entertainment. Porpoise, seals ( regular visitors and movers through the waters) night visit from otters.
Lots of boat activity and a view of the ferry. The stillness of the location is inspiring. Great place to visit definitely will return.

Second visit here. Stayed in Otter. It lived up to its name as we saw an otter on at least three occasions from the window. Lovely quiet site and lovely quiet island. Only went on the ferry once to walk to Easedale. The rest of the time we spent on Luing walking and cycling everyday. We will be coming back next year if we can.

We have just spent a week on the ISLE OF LUING, staying at SUNNYBRAE CARAVAN PARK,
In OTTER 3.
One of the nicest relaxing holidays we have experienced, fantastic scenery.
A twitchers paradise, Eagles, Shirkes, Wheaters, and lots more birds that we were unable to identify.
We also saw from our caravan window, ( which over looked the SOUND OF CUAN) only feet away,
Otters and Seals playing in the water.
Our accommodation was excellent and our hosts MIKE and JENNY were just lovely people that couldnt
do enough for us.
Everything was COVID secure and we felt very safe.
Antiseptic and disinfectant was provided in the caravan, even though we took our own.
The little POST OFFICE on the Island, was well stocked and the shop keeper was very friendly.
The ferry only took approx 3 mins to cross and runs every half hour.
All in all a 5***** holiday and we would highly recommend it !!!!!

We stayed a week in otter caravan in September 2020.
It was in such a fantastic position to see views out every window.
Caravan was spotless and had everything you needed for self catering, beds were comfy and shower constant hot water and the living/dining area was spacious.
The owner Mike was on hand should you require anything but not so much as you would notice as you are left to your own devices.
We were lucky enough to see dolphins, otters, plenty of seals and their pups on the neighboring small island, so bring your binoculars and have your camera at the ready you will not be disappointed.
I would highly recommend Sunnybrae and we will definitely be returning.

Breathtaking panoramic views, right on the waters edge from our Otter caravan. Children enjoyed crabbing and fishing on the pontoon, spotting porpoises, seals and bird life. Wonderful walks around the island, with a stunning view from the trig point. A beautiful site, caravan immaculately clean and kept to a very high standard. Thoroughly recommend a stay here!

Luing is a very quiet, small island. OTTER has great views of the sound and ferry which was entertainment for the grandchildren. The home is adequately equipped. Mike was available should there be any problems (which there weren't). He also sold us some lovely langoustines fresh from the fisherman.

We had an amazing 4 day break in a caravan that was very well equipped with necessities and more. Ideally located with stunning views. Mike was welcoming and available but non intrusive. For winter months best be equipped with a torch when moving around the area at night. We hope to return later in the year.

We spent 2 nights in Otter, fantastically located right by the Cuan Sound. If you sat in the lounge and looked out it was like being on a boat. Lots of room inside and outside space to eat. Easy location to find with a very quick car ferry. Lovely caravan park ~ not overcrowded and our fellow guests were all quiet but very friendly. Lots of interesting walks and plenty of places to go off island.

Location is perfect for a relaxing stay. Would recommend Otter caravan in particular for it pitch which is waterside and offers an amazing vista. Caravan was well appointed, clean and spacious. Island itself is an interesting place and would recommend the Atlantic centre and Luing stores for a visit. For dog walkers would note coastal walks near can be boggy or require some scrambling with cows nearby.

This was just the perfect holiday. We saw some fantastic wildlife and visited local attractions. It is such a beautiful part of the world and I would recommend the island to anyone. The site and caravan were fantastic. Mike and Jenn have thought of everything. The caravan was spacious, clean, well equipped and perfectly sited. We will definitely be going back.

Had a very lovely family catch up weekend. The weather was dramatic and stormy then glorious sunshine. The view from the caravan is magnificent, always changing with the tides. We enjoyed watching seals, seabirds and passing fishing boats. We had 2 adjacent caravans, the living area was spacious enough to accommodate 8 adults from both caravans which was lovely.

Shower was great, beds comfy, caravans are well equipped. We had a lovely stay enjoying walks on the island and visiting the Atlantic Islands Visitor Centre at Cullipool where we had an excellent dinner.

I think speaks for itself! Sunnybrae is the perfect base for a weeks paddling around Seil, Luing, Shuna, Lunga and (for the distance paddlers who don't need a pub on their day out) the Garvellachs as well. The Caravan Park is small, quiet and gets you away from it all. The hosts (Mike and Jenn) are un-intrusive but there to help when you needed, although everything was perfect as usual and all we needed was to say Hello on arrival and Thank you very much on our departure
The caravans are quite new (2-3 years if memory serves right) and in perfect working order. Scottish weather didn't permit a daily BBQ so we had to cook and fry indoors and were very impressed with the quality pots and pans. the shower runs of the gas boiler and is very good which is an important part after a days kayaking in bad weather. The double bed is very comfy, so my paddle buddy (192cm, 100kg) assures me, the twin beds in the little bedroom could be a tad wide and if you're over 180cm (6ft) you might hit the wall. But that I knew and slept well anyhow.
The old creaking bones permitting we might be back for another weeks sea-kayaking and finally get to the Garvellachs, with a bit of support from the tides and good planning there is a change to return to Sunnybrae via Ellenabeich for a then well earned pint and maybe a little dram in the "Oyster Bar" before the final 20min leg home!

Beautiful surroundings and quiet location. We stayed first week of August 2018 saw seals otter herons and not a single midge! Small site with 8 caravans well spaced out. Ferry easy to use, we bought 'special offer' of 5 return tickets £28 for the car and £7 per passenger so a total of £42 for the week. See Cuan ferry web site for timings - never had to queue for it always got on it first time - it only takes 5 mins to cross so it comes back if any extra cars want to cross. Atlantic centre worth a visit in Culipool about 2 miles from the site for lunch/views across to Mull and the Atlantic. Besides the wildlife actually saw young children down their iPhones and fish for tiddlers in the Sound by the site. Stay here - its worth it.

What a great place to stay - right on the sea with seals and all sorts of seabirds to be seen right outside the window. The views on the clear days to other islands were stunning, too. Luing is a beautiful, quiet spot with plenty of great scenery - but don't come for the nightlife! (The latter a positive benefit in our view). It's easy to get to the mainland via Seil island with the regular ferry services, which only takes a few minutes to cross, and Seil is connected to the mainland by an interesting old hump-back bridge. We enjoyed the bike hire facility at the site and explored the island that way, mostly leaving the car on the Seil side of the channel (cheaper to use the ferry as foot passengers), since the site is right by the ferry. The caravan itself was clean and modern and well-equipped with everything we needed. Oban is about half an hour's drive away and is a great little town.

We had a great holiday it was a great place to chill out and recharge batteries will definitely return .We saw otters and seals and loads of birds .Highly recommended

This was our second stay at Sunnybrae. It's a great place to get away from it all and wonderful for wildlife watching. Very comfortable accommodation, very helpful hosts. We were lucky with the weather, but even if it is raining you can still watch the tide going in and out...could watch all day!

The site is in a stunning location, you literally feel as though you are sitting on the water.
The site is immaculate and maintained to a high standard through out.
We were within touching distance of our pontoon, which was ideal.
Perfect for our needs, thank you.

The caravan was very cosy with everything you need. The views from our caravan is brilliant we seen dolphins swimming a matter of metres from the van. Excellent views and lovely paecefull holiday.

Our third outing for a weeks sea kayaking and again had a whale of a time - even though we didn't see any whales, but seals, otters and sea birds a-plenty; the caravan was all new and shiny and when the gales blew and the rain was drumming on the roof one couldn't feel cosier sitting near the fire with lil' drum and overlooking the Cuan Sound in it's ever changing conditions.
Mike and Jenn are there when needed and always given us a warm welcome.
the only little niggle is the single beds are about 2ft wide but that's caravanning I reckon.




A perfect one week break in with stunning, beautiful views and peaceful surroundings.

My brother and I stayed at the Otter with the hope of doing some Kayaking, photography,fishing and walking.
It far out-weighed my expectations - it did not disappoint!
The "otter" caravan was perfect, clean and comfortable.
The views outside the caravan window, looking out onto the sound, was a joy to wake up to every morning.
The Seals, fish, the sea birds diving into the water - feet away from us - just lovely!
If you like nature, stunning views, tranquility, easy access to loads of facilities via the 5 minute ferry ride (although there is enough to do on the Island itself) - your going to love this place.
Don't expect decent mobile phone coverage though! I was glad not to have any one calling me- a blessing in disguise whilst on holiday.
Mike and Jen are perfect hosts!
Was sad to go back home!

Wonderful caravan park run by a lovely couple. Otter had the best view of the water. Spent hours sat looking through binoculars watching seals and cormorants and lots more. Excellent brand new caravan with everything you need. Lovely fresh eggs. Right next to the ferry. Great island to explore.

Stayed for 1 week, weather not too good but the views made up for that, site is kept very well.Would like to return again, caravans are very comfortable and very clean.The Atlantic Centre is a must to visit and the food was very good scallops cooked to perfection .

Absolutely outstanding location, otters and seals came to visit every night right outside the van. Mike and Jenna came to meet us as we were running late. Just what we all needed, secluded, peaceful, idyllic location to do nothing! We drove around the island as well which was well worth it for more exceptional views. Having the other activities on hand was also a bonus however we didn't choose to do any this time due to some health issues but we will definitely be back and will recommend to all our friends and family x our friends visiting g with us from Australia gave it ten out of ten !!!!

Everything was as described to us by friends who recommended it. The waterfront location was excellent. We had good weather and found it a wonderful p!ace to walk and to relax. We will go there again.

The van was clean and fresh, with all the equipment a family could need. The location and views are wonderful! Mike is approachable and friendly. The site is well maintained and peaceful- we had a brilliant, relaxing holiday!
