What a beautiful setting, lots if wildlife to see, very peaceful, with hardly any light pollution so able to see the stars at night. The host was lovely left alone but they were there if we needed anything. Would like to return.

Sunnybrae is an ideal place as a base for exploring Luing and beyond.
Paul, Sue, Tiani and Brett as new owners and managers have actually improved on what we had previously considered perfect! Heron is ideally situated for views over Seil Sound and beyond and provided excellent views of Perseus, the Perseids and the Aurora Borealis on 12th August.
Having stayed at Sunnybrae 9 times in the last 21 years, we look forward to further stays in the years ahead.

A pleasant week was had relaxing and soaking up the peace and quiet at Sunnybrae. A great escape from the noise and hustle bustle of the world.
The mobile homes are clean, modern and have everything you need.

Poor value for money. No heater in bedroom. Accommodation cramped. £42 for dog extortionate. £20 to £25 is maximum I have paid in cottages of much better standard. Will not be coming back. Location good but, accommodation disappointment.

Been a few years now at Sunnybrae, staying whilst participating in the Easdale Rib Run. Superb location and facilities, just the job, covers every base. Vans are exceptionally clean and a superb location. To be able to berth the boat just by is an added bonus. New owners could not be more helpful, excellent hosts. See you next year !

It was like I was in a dream now all I have to do is sort out things here so I can move up to there. I hope to live on the Isle of luing or very near it within the next two years. Sunnybrae is just out of this world. Many thanks Mr Paul Wilding.

I can never find fault with Sunnybrae. The caravans are well equipped and always spotlessly clean. It is peaceful situated right on the Sound just right for a short escape from everyday life. Look forward to coming next year

Another gorgeous week at Sunnybrae. We just love coming here. Mike and Jenn make you feel so welcome and look after you just brilliantly. 5 - Heron had everything we needed and has a lovely private location, tucked away beneath Orchid lodge, next to the water. Thanks again for another great holiday. We miss it already!

Beautiful location Luing is a small island with about 3 roads and hardly any cars the ferry can take 5 cars over from Seil island onto Luing
Sunnybrae is well located and you can spot wildlife from your window in comfort.The beds are super comfy and we had a great stay

We had time for just a couple of nights away, it's the perfect getaway with family to relax.
Heron caravan has such a great location and outlook. We watched otters, seals and herons on the shoreline. Easy to see from both inside or sitting at the private picnic table at the front of the caravan.
It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Tea, coffee, dishtowels, wash up liquid all provided in the kitchen which is really helpful if you're travelling a distance. Bathroom towels and handsoap provided and bedrooms very comfortable. It's my 5th time at Sunnybrae and I've already booked my next trip. Luing is beautiful, it's a peaceful trip and the perfect getaway.

We have stayed at Sunnybrae a number of times, with our first visit being in 2003.
Previous visits have been in the autumn, and while looking forward to seeing the tree on Torsa with full foliage, we were unsure what to expect regarding midges. Thankfully all was well, and our stay was delightful.
This was our first stay in the Heron site which, like the four other vans we have stayed in, was excellent.
Thanks again to Mike & Jen who ensured all was just right for our arrival.

A week is never enough! A very peaceful location right next to the shore giving good views over Cuan Sound. The van was spotless and even came with tea, coffee and shortbread to get you started. If you're quiet and patient around dusk, you might even get to see the otter passing by- they are shy... Can't wait till my next visit!

Loved our stay at Sunny. The view over the water is so interesting whether it's boats, otters, seals or birds. The ferry journey only takes a few minutes and about 15min drive round to the village Cullypool. We've already booked next year's visit.

Just back from a wonderful holiday staying on the Isle of Luing. The caravan and location is amazing right next to the water where my boys enjoyed crabbing. The caravan was clean and tidy and offered a great base for us. We enjoyed exploring the island, and it's many slate beaches. It is a great base for exploring the west coast too being, close to Oban which offers trips on the ferry as well as wildlife trips.

Lovely location near ferry. Caravan was really well equipped and spotless. The park is ideal for nature watching and is Eco friendly too. Owners were very helpful without being intrusive.Make sure you plan for meals as island has limited facilities.

Beautiful location overlooking the sea however issues which need addressing are as follows:
Dangerous steep steps out of caravan
One meter away from a dangerous drop into the water
No fence / decking to allow children or dogs safe access outside
No welcome pack to describe how to use facilities/ map of the area / suggestions or recommendations for local restaurants/ visitors comments book / no emergency telephone numbers for doctor / dentist / vet etc
A4 sheet of don’t for dogs we found insulting - I would suggest most people taking these kind of holidays are responsible owners who ensure their dogs do not damage the property in any way.

Thanks for your review, to clarify your comments.. The steps and handrail are industry standard ones designed for mobile homes so they can not be "dangerous and steep". The waters edge is more than two meters away and there is plenty of room to safely stay away from the edge. Dogs should be kept on lead and children run free all over the site, they do not need a fence or decking. Our two lodges do have decking though. Most people research their holidays making Welcome packs obsolete and we are generally around to answer any questions our guests may have. Sadly some dogs owners are not that responsible.

Cannot fault this as a holiday destination, if you just want to relax and walk around the Island enjoying the views there is no better place. The accommodation is comfortable and well presented, will definitely be back for a fourth stay.

What an absolute find, booked via our friend Cameron Fyffe. We were attending the Easdale Rib Rendezvous. Mike was there to meet us when we brought our boats from Croabh Haven Marina. Tied up on a well sheltered pontoon adjacent to the Caravan Site. Caravan was spotless and what a location !. We liked it so much shall book again for next year. Would highly recommend.

A gem of a place, couldn't get closer to the water and plenty of seals and herons to watch. The caravan was spotless and equipped with all we needed, we liked the facilities for recycling and composting. The proximity to the ferry and its frequency allowed us to explore the area with ease before returning to our cozy, comfortable base. So quiet and peaceful!

Absolutely stunning views all around and so peaceful. Give yourself more than a shortbreak here as it takes a couple of days for the island to work its magic and you find yourself relaxing, appreciating the wildlife and beauty all around you. The ferry service is great and takes less than 5 minutes. We stayed in Heron and is was perfectly positioned, right on the shoreline. The caravans are in great condition and the site is very nice, the shared facilities they provide are really helpful and the kids really enjoyed using the crabbing equipment. Get stocked up before you arrive as the nearest supermarket is about 40 minutes away but the island shop does have essential items and amazing bread (Tuesdays and Fridays). The island cafe is definitely worth visiting, fantastic cakes and lovely staff.

When we arrived the caravan had been made ready and all we had to do was unpack and relax. The scenery on your doorstep is quite spectacular.
Mike came to welcome us when he knew we were there and was very friendly. Any questions we had he was very quick to answer via text message.
The Isle is beautiful and quiet and very easy to get safely around.
All in all it was a very enjoyable stay.

Many visits to Sunnybrae and all times have been wonderful. Waterside position gives stunning views of the islands and the water. Sitting by the waterside takes away life's stresses and provides the perfect opportunity for relaxing, whilst looking out at the cormorants, seals and other wildlife. A perfect "get away from it all".

Mostly everything was fine. We had a nice view and a clean holiday home. I would suggest a new toaster that doesn’t burn the toast on the lowest setting!

Second visit and will be returning. Stunning views, peaceful location with plenty of wildlife. Mike and Jen are very welcoming and helpful, if needed, but not intrusive. Accommodation is excellent with all the equipment you need. Plenty of walks on the island and easy access to the shore, with boat trips available nearby. What a wonderful setting for a very relaxing stay in a static caravan. Located right on the water’s edge (very clear water), we had beautiful views and an ever changing vista as clouds, rain and sunshine passed by. We didn’t realise there would be so much wildlife when booking and saw lots of seals bobbing about outside our window and on a nearby island, herons and bats. And our neighbours spotted porpoises one day! We looked in a couple of rock pools (very carefully with kids near the fast flowing water!!) and found live crabs and sea anemones. Skimming conditions are also excellent (not on site but nearby beaches - as mostly made of slate). The caravan itself was clean and in good condition. Our hosts were very hands off, but there if you needed them, which was perfect. It felt like it was our very own spot and we mused upon living on an island! We borrowed some DVDs for the kids/evenings from the Bothy (a shed of useful things on site) and managed to watch a few things we’d wanted to for a while. The island is great for exploring and had a few adventures (be very careful wandering on the hills as some of them just come to an end suddenly!). We even found local writer Norman Bissell, who kindly signed a book of poems for us and spotted the ferry lady in photos at the Atlantic centre in Cullipool - a great spot for lunch with amazing food. The beach there has brilliant views of a lighthouse and neighbouring islands. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back!

We have just had an amazing relaxing holiday at Sunnybrae caravan park. Our stay in the heron caravan was brilliant. Everything about the holiday was excellent , stunning location where we we felt totally in with the wildlife . Mike and Jenn are great hosts , nothing was too much trouble , always helpful and friendly . we can't speak highly enough about them and our stay. We had a great time staying at Sunnybrae. The location is perfect for a peaceful relaxing holiday and the view from our caravan was stunning. There are some lovely walks on Luing and places to visit just a short ferry trip away. We would highly recommend Mike’s site for anyone wanting to get away from it all for a few days to recharge the batteries.

Location second to none, wonderful to see so much wildlife from the windows. Peaceful yet at the same time lovely watching the fishing boats and ferry going about their daily routine and the many beautiful sailing boats passing by. Luing is a very special place, and when the choice is any part of western Scotland and the Islands, why make
a return visit? Well it's hard to pin it down, and it would be awful if thousands of people were to arrive and spoil
this peace and quiet. There is so much to do, in slow time. Walking, cycling, fishing, photography, reading or just
appreciating the ever changing weather and the views of the surrounding islands and the seascape.
Sunnybrae Caravan Park is so in tune with the Luing thing, The caravans were new in 2018 and are well placed to
make the most of the views. Mike and Jenn are very discreet, but always helpful and able to advise. The park is
spotless as are the caravans.

The location of this caravan park is stunning. We stayed in Heron for a week at the beginning of October and, within an hour of settling into the lovely caravan, an otter swam right past our window then entertained us until dark, fishing and playing on the jetty!
We saw plenty of wildlife on the Sound including Harbour Porpoise and the otter paid us regular visits.
The caravan park is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding islands with some great walks on Luing and spectacular views from the Trig point.
The facilities in the caravan were more excellent for the two of us and the Bothy provides everything else you may need.

In summary, we had a wonderful holiday and loved staying in the caravan. Thank you Mike for providing such superb accommodation.

This was our 4th stay at Sunnybrae Caravan Park. Over the years we’ve stayed in different caravans, each have their own special angle to watch the mesmerising changing water and wildlife. Heron caravan was amazing! Right at the waters edge we watched seals daily, they get so close you can hear them snort. The waters with all their mini whirlpools are beguiling. The herons swooping inches above the water, amazing! The island itself is just stunning. Our favourite place is Blackmill Bay. Quiet but very atmospheric with its long abandoned ticket office and pier. The Atlantic Island centre is a huge bonus to the island. The cakes are lovely and the exhibition of slate was impressive. It also has a museum and history and geology of the slate islands. Very informative. We, as always, bought a multi ticket for the ferry, 5 return tickets for 2adults and the car ( cost about £43) and, as usual, didn’t use them all. Sometimes you just don’t want to leave the island, a couple of times is enough to see Oban and Easdale. Our biggest shock was the closure of the Highland Arts shop at Easdale! Nothing to do with the lovely Sunnybrae but such a shame to see that quirky huge place closed. The Bothy has everything you might need, eggs, dvds, frozen meals, laundry services and WiFi. You can hire bikes as well. The roads are good but all single track, you quickly get used to them and find that the only residents that don’t use the passing places are the cows and sheep that wander freely all over the island.
I almost hate giving such an amazing place a great review as I would like to keep it all to ourselves but I suppose we can’t be that selfish. If there was a ‘life reset button’ the Sunnybrae on Luing would be our yearly prescription. Love it there and will be back for visit No 5!

Having just spent a wet and windy week at Sunnybrae, what a fantastic little caravan park, the ferry to and from the island very regular so no issues coming and going. Owner Mike is so obliging, the caravan was immaculate, loved the recycling ethos, and the Bothy was a god send, our 2 teenage boys loved the huge selection of DVD's. Langoustines were amazing. Had an amazing time.

Fantastic week at Sunnybrae, van immaculate and equipped with everything you may need (ice ready in freezer for G&T was a god send!).
Location amazing, never before done pots whilst watching seals.
Site facilities awesome, hosts have thought of everything.
Went with hope of maybe seeing a couple of seals....saw too many to count, along with porpoise, otters, birds of prey, hares.

We are a couple who wanted to enjoy a quiet and relaxing holiday. Sunnybrae was the ideal setting to enjoy this. The proximity of the caravan to the water front gave us a nice views and was great for our dog to bathe.

The caravan itself was very clean, comfortable, well presented and equipped with all the essential utilities we needed. We did have issues with our tv not working for several days, however it really was not a big deal.

Overall Sunnybrae was the perfect location for us to disconnect for a few days and also to travel and explore some of the Inner Hebrides. If you want a quiet and slow paced holiday, this place is ideal.

If you want to relax in peace this is the place
If you want exercise and adventure this is the place. Kayaking, swimming, fishing, cycling all on your doorstep with a degree of isolation. Take a good set of binoculars for the wild life otters, seals, eagles, all types of birds can be spptted, in fact the seals followed me round when i was swimming. Mike and Jenny are there for you if you need them, and to make you feel welcome. There are some great walks on the island with the Atlantic canter in Cullipool for refreshments and displaying the history and heritage of this beautiful little island. There is a shop / post office to stock up from on the island with Oban just 30 mins away, Love the place

Lovely place to stay, quiet with a small island feel, especially after the quickest ever ferry ride. Wi-fi intermittent but the midge-things on site worked a treat. We didn't figure out the TV but there are lots of DVDs to choose from in the Bothy. Weather was glorious and we spent so much time outdoors, wandering all over the island. Dogs must be on a lead due to the sheep and cattle everywhere, and the view from the Trig point is well worth a little climb to watch the sun go down. Mind and take a light jacket though! Views from the caravan windows were simply stunning, I could sit for hours just watching the strong currents in the Cuan sound. Very peaceful visit, thanks to Mike and Jen.

Mike and Jenn clearly love Sunnybrae, not an occupation but a way of life for them. The vans are either new or nearly
new and of a very high standard and spaced in a way that give each van an identity. The site is very well cared for and it felt more like visiting friends or family than visiting a caravan site for the first time. The island is quite small but had a good balance of scenery and peaceful open countryside. The NHS should prescribe a week at Sunnybrae as a cure for stress or burnout.

Fantastic views from the caravan over the Cuan sound. Fascinating watching the tide race and rip through the sound with the ferry, canoeists and various boats passing by.

Watched seals, an otter, herons, cormorants and lots of other birds from the caravan as the sea is only a few feet away.
Caravan well-equipped and warm despite us visiting when the weather was cold outside!
Lovely walks round island and took ferry across the channel and walked up to the Oyster Bar along the coast overlooking Easedale.

DVDs available from the Bothy and bikes to hire too.

Great time had in Luing, Sunnybrae Caravan site. Swimming, Cycling, Canoeing, Fishing, relaxing. Scenery is stunning all over this little Island, great view from Caravan. Loads of diverse wildlife from newts to dolphins.Great food at the Atlantic Centre in Cullipool, Lynn my wife even got to go to the Local Zumba class. Cullipool is a lovely little village and the locals make you feel welcome. Luing is Ideal to go walking and if you wish to go exploring the highlands or Islands further out its ideally situated being only 35 mins from Oban. You can either sit and relax enjoying the fresh air and scenery or go adventuring, Love it.

This was my first even caravan experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the caravan was comfortable and the views are incredible! Mike was very helpful and friendly and I would highly recommend Sunnybrae. The island was stunning and incredible to explore, perfect for a relaxing break, long walks or picnic overlooking the gorgeous scenery. I would like to go back to Sunnybrae in the summer time as it rained most of our stay. The pub is an experience and they sell the best chips and cheese.
