Cosy cottage for 2, with a 4-poster bed and log burner. All on ground floor (accessible for those with some mobility problems), with wet room and enclosed garden. One or two small to medium size dogs or cot-sized children welcome, with cot and high chair available on request.

Kate and Alison could not have been more welcoming. Their lovely home and surroundings provided the quietness and tranquility we were hoping for. Harebell Cottage is a cosy, homely little place with everything you need for either a short break, or in our case, a long stay for 1 month. They had all the facilities needed including a laundry room and access to a lovely tennis court which we thoroughly enjoyed using on the warmer, sunnier days.

We cannot thank Kate and Alison enough for accommodating us during our month at the cottage, which went incredibly quickly. I also would like to recommend a lovely clay pigeon shooting range, only 10 minutes drive away called DBC Leisure. Dave was a wonderful instructor and both my partner had a wonderful day!

Moderately pleasant stay in lovely spot near River Severn. It’s a shame that the heating wasn’t working properly on the first night. The cottage felt a little tired for the money - visible gaps around external doors. Nice shower but not possible to adjust temperature. Mattress springs twanged every time you turned. Good games room and info centre.

It was a lovely cottage, beautiful setting, quirky however the lounge, dining and kitchen area were a little on the small side. I felt the outside furniture let it down somewhat a little weeding here and there would have looked great too. I thought the cottage was close to the local pub, it’s quite a hike on foot. I know this might sound picky, it’s the little things that needed attention, so hope this constructive criticism may help.

A great cottage in a great location, with lovely owners. We had everything we needed for our holiday. The secure, private garden was fabulous with a view over the field where we saw a lot of wildlife passing through.

My Wife and I booked the Harebell cottage for a week and it what was exactly what we needed,ie a base to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. It is situated in a such a peaceful area overlooking farmland and is so relaxing.
Everything is provided in the cottage, meaning that you only take your own food, etc. The Owners are always on hand to help if needed and overall a successful break.

The cottage is lovely and the location is quiet and very rural - be prepared for small roads! Kate was very welcoming and helpful. The facilities are as described in the brochure. Just a couple of points to note: there is no fire blanket in the holder for one; the frying pan needs replacing (bacon and egg is our holiday treat); the wet-room floor tiles are very slippery and care is needed; I would recommend there being more tea-towels and a hand towel for the kitchen.

I was thrilled to find this hidden gem in the Forest of Dean, which I booked for a last minute holiday with my husband and 10-month-old baby. The cottage was a perfect base for exploring the local area and provided some lovely cosy evenings. Fond memories of watching "Withnail and I" with the wood burner crackling away!

On one of the days we treated ourselves to a meal made by the in-house chef which was amazing - pure comfort food! - and we also loved the welcome basket full of tasty local goods. The staff were very attentive and communicated promptly via our personal WhatsApp group, and we felt very safe throughout our stay due to all the Covid-19 safety measures in place.

A lovely cottage, ideal for our stay with our dog. The enclosed garden was lovely, and it was good to be able to let the dog out there. It was well situated for several walks in the forest. The kitchen was well planned, and enabled us to cook simple meals each evening, which we prefer to venturing out at present.

My partner and I spent a very pleasant week at Oatfield. The staff were very attentive while being mindful of social distancing and hygiene shortly after lockdown ended. The property is clean, cosy and between the tennis court, table tennis, pool, board games and more on-site, there is plenty to keep you busy if all you want to do is stay in the cottage and relax. Highly recommended.

A very relaxing stay, the cottage was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed the tennis on site and the evening sunshine sat in our private garden. Lots of games, books and DVDs available if you wanted them. The kitchenette was well equipped so we could cook evening meals easily.
It was very easy to get into the Forest of Dean, we walked, cycled and canoed during our stay without having to drive very far.
The welcome pack was good, particularly the home made bread and jam and the fruit juice.

Because of ill health we had to cancel, knowing that we would not get a refund we let friends say for three days in the cottage ( all they could manage ) They just commented that the freezer did't work.

Bill & Anna from stayed at Harebell for 7 nights in September 2019

Hello Bill, Firstly I'm sorry you weren't able to stay with us and hope you're feeling better. Cancellation insurance is always a good idea; although as Kate mentioned on the phone when you called to tell us you couldn't come, we would have been happy to defer your booking until you were well enough. I have just checked the freezer and indeed it has stopped working (it was fine the week before): I wish your friends had mentioned it to us, as we would have got someone in to fix it or replaced it. Anyway I hope this didn't spoil their short break. Warm regards, Alison

Sadly our planned holiday had to be cancelled due to car breakdown. I booked this cottage with little notice and
It proved to be just what we needed . A quiet location but within easy driving distance of local attractions and a lovely cottage the highlight was canoeing down the River Wye for half a day. Kate was helpful when needed and I would definitely recommend to others.

We had a flying visit for business and partly pleasure. Location was great for us to visit Gloucester on business and visit the Cathedral and the docks. Weather wasn't brilliant and the road up the Wye Valley was closed which was disappointing.
Holiday let was fine for the two of us but the mattress was a bit thin and the bathroom/wet room floor was lethal after a shower despite there being a sponge mop to soak up the water. Unfortunately, we damaged one of the dining chairs which l think had perhaps dried out in the heat, but we offered to pay.
All in all though a nice place to stay.

Very enjoyable stay in Harebell but the access is a little difficult due to narrow lane. The weather was dreadful so sadly we weren't able to enjoy the lovely little garden. Greatly appreciated the provisions which were provided for us when we arrived.

This was a very comfortable cottage with thoughtful attention to detail and our week here with our dog was lovely. All the cottages have pretty, private west facing gardens. Great for families (we have passed that stage) but our children would have loved it here. WiFi was only available in the info room - which was actually good for us, as it was only a few yards across pretty courtyard but it meant we had a holiday from our devices. The area has so much history and all was easily accessible with lovely drives through Forest of Dean to Wye Valley.

We much enjoyed our break The cottage was fine with an enclosed garden for our dogs and lots of lovely walks from the farm. We haven't been to the Severn before and loved the views. The Forest of Dean was lovely as always with more facilities than 40 years ago when we used to visit my parents in Herefordshire! Our hosts were welcoming and helpful but managed to be self effacing as well!

My husband and I spend a lovely relaxing week here. The cottage had a private garden overlooking fields so a gorgeous view. Great welcome pack fresh bread, butter, jam and local apple juice and eggs. The games room was fun and lots of info about local sights. It was possible to walk to the local pub although some might struggle with the incline coming home.

We stayed in Harebell cottage, which, as couple of pensioners suited us very well. The cottage is very comfortable, and everything was supplied including towels, toiletries and electricity. The welcome pack of bread, eggs jam and fruit juice was a very nice touch, and the bread was delicious!
Oatfield farm is in a really peaceful rural location, but within easy reach of many tourist attractions. The Forest of Dean is very close, and we spent a lot of time enjoying picnics and walks there.
I would highly recommend these holiday cottages.

Lovely cottage on a farm with very friendly animals. Nice food pack with local produce waiting for us. Everything you need including dressing gowns towels and all bedding. Good location to visit the area and also walks fron the farm. No mobile signal in the cottage and if you need WiFi it is available in the information room. As it was new year when we visited the wood burning stove was lovely and the wood was free which is not the case at a lot of places. Hope to visit again in the summer.

We were looking very much forward to staying at Harebell. Lovely situation, but the single-track approach road has no passing-places and a nightmare if there is on-coming traffic. The cottage was slightly disappointing. I didn't feel as though Harebell was up to the standard of the other cottages on site. The bathroom certainly needed up-grading and there were two missing tiles on the kitchen floor. Fairly basic kitchen equipment and crockery. No cushions on the garden furniture. We did ask but nothing appeared. It's an amazing site with loads of facilities for families. Wonderful play area. Tennis courts and well-equipped playroom. Hot tub and sauna onsite too. Overall impression is very good but I did feel that the complex was more suited to families. We did enjoy our stay, but overall felt that Harebell wasn't up to the standard of the other cottages.

We had a very good week at Oatfield with our dog. Harebell cottage had everything we needed and the fenced rear garden was perfect for our dog, she was able to fraternise with the dog next door through the fence. Alison and Kate were very welcoming and happy to stop for a chat. The Information room was very helpful, with a good selection of leaflets about local attractions. The folder of information in the cottage was also very helpful. We liked the Green stance taken by Oatfield and the comprehensive recycling facilities. The rural setting was very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed walking through the orchard, looking at the animals (domestic and wild) and the local views of the Severn. This was a good base to explore The Forest of Dean.

Not fussy, down to earth, very amenable with animals and children. Great facilities, and an ambiance of relaxation. Limited WIFI coverage in accommodation but good access at one location, but a great thing as you will need to go near to the office location to use.
Good parking, easy access, and off the beaten track.

We really enjoyed our holiday in Harebell Cottage, it was especially good because we had our little grandson with us who quickly made friends with other holidaymakers' children and loved having all the animals on the doorstep. He loved feeding George the Pig and the Goats. The location of the farm was brilliant because it was so quiet and relaxing. I found bed very comfortable which is really important. Shame we did have quite a bit of rain, but that's England for you!! It was a very safe location for children and the facilities were brilliant for them. We all enjoyed the play room especially the table tennis. Our grandson didn't want to leave the animals and the friends he made. One comment I would like to make and its not a criticism at all but it would have been nice to have had a bit more cupboard space for our food. When we do self catering, we eat in all the time and so had a weeks' shopping delivered but it was hard knowing where to put all the food. There were lots of lovely items on display in the cottage and all the crockery, dishes etc you would need but it would have been nice to have had an empty cupboard for our food instead of having to move things around to make space. That's all, everything else was great. Also lovely to have a secure garden for the dog and lovely views. We never got to use the sauna, never had time as so much to see and do but great to have that facility too.. All in all a lovely holiday, thank you Alison and Kate.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Harebell, Oatfield. The cottage is compact but has everything you need at the same time. The setting is beautiful and very well maintained. We found a different mapped walk to complete every day, enjoying the forest and Wye areas. Perfect, slow paced and relaxing break.

The setting of the cottage on the farm is great. Cottage itself was ideal for what we needed - small but comfortable enough. We loved having the animals round about us. Dog friendly, which was important to us. All in all, a great cottage and a very pleasant stay.

A beautiful cottage in a peaceful location..friendly owners...great extras..eggs..bread...flowers.
Loved the pig and goats too!
Nice touches with the copper pans..pictures and four poster bed.
The kitchen contained everything you could need.
Great walks around..no need to go far by car...just move in and relax.

We came over from Canada and wanted a base for two weeks in the south of England. The cottage provided the best of both worlds in that it was near to places we wanted to travel, but remote from the business so it was also very relaxing.
The accommodation was excellent and very comfortable. A lot of thought was put into the furnishings, decor and supplies, and we lacked for nothing
Had to get used to the narrow road to the cottage, but soon was totally relaxed about the driving.
The hosts, Alison and Kate, we very friendly and extremely helpful.
Loved the wood fire in the evenings.
The Information Office was superb giving lots of ideas for places to go and walks to cover.
Really enjoyed getting to know George the pig!!!!!!!!!

The cottage I booked had not been cleaned when I arrived. There was nobody around to help me. Eventually somebody came and I was moved to another cottage. Food was excellent.
Otherwise an excellent stay. I would return.

Accommodation was clean and comfortable. The grounds around the site were in good condition and we liked the freedom of having the site to ourselves. We hired the whole complex for our family (all eighteen bed spaces). The grandchildren particularly enjoyed seeing the animals and feeding the goats. This an excellent choice of cottage for a couple with everything at hand.

Oatfield is a great place to stay, we hire all cottages and use it as a big family gathering. It works really well. The only problem we experienced was an issue with the heating overnight and in the morning. But other than that it couldn't be better. Alison and Kate are really friendly and helpful and are there when needed but just leave us to enjoy being at Oatfield.

We stayed at Harbell, Oatfield Cottages for 3 nights at the beginning of June. We received a warm welcome with a lovely welcome basket. The location is very quiet and was ideal for our dog as we were able to take him 'off-lead' walks straight from the property.

We would like to thank you so much for such a lovely holiday, the welcome pack was just wonderful. We loved Georgie the pig, very much. In the cottage the ladies had thought of everything you could possibly want in line of mirrors and plugs and in the kitchen there was everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable as could be. The fenced off garden was great, kept Mia nice and secure.

We will definately return and also let other people know how lovely Oatfield Cottages are.

We hired out all of the cottages for five families with children... The cottages themselves have loads of character, and the way they are laid out really works well. The main barn lounge and dining area is large enough for approx 20 people to congregate together comfortably - for dinner and drinks! The cottages are well presented and maintained, and everything you'd expect is there and more importantly works! The location is peaceful, with good local walk trails that expose some great scenery of the river and surrounding area. The facilities are good, and the tennis court was an added bonus! It's also a short drive to the shops etc. Finally, the owners are very attentive to ensure a smooth stay, and I'd definitely recommend it !!

Loved Harebell.
From the amazing welcome basket to the attention to detail. The basics were there like washing up liquid but then we found bath robes and lotions etc. in the bathroom way beyond anything we have experienced in self catering before and it was a lovely touch.
The enclosed garden was a sun trap and it's very dog friendly with walks from the door. Thank you Kate for the supply of logs for the log burner, kept us toasty warm.
Would love to stay again when we are in the area.

Listed as 4 star. Would struggle to give it 2 stars. Bathroom shabby, tap not working. No wardrobe, bedroom stank of damp & musty. No where to put food other than fridge. No contact with owner at all. stayed in 4 premier cottages in past 12 months. other 3 cottages fantastic. this one appalling condition. not sure will ever use premier cottages again. Cannot understand how this is in the brochure if it had been checked by premier cottages.

Thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, the facilities at farm and the friendliness of the management team.
Had a fabulous holiday in a great area with things to do all around.
Pub within a modest walking distance (the profanity checker won't let me use the name) that does great food and drink. Quick walk down the the Severn from behind the tennis court.
Pool table had a broken pocket, dodgy cues and chipped balls but that just levelled the playing field and made for a great laugh!
