The Barn was a wonderful place to stay nestled in a working farm with plenty of space for walks and to play outdoor games with young children the hosts were very helpful and attentive. Perfect calming holiday for my family. A 25 min walk over fields to local very friendly pub and an amazing vintage shop spent a long time just looking around all the antique dealers items. Not ideal location for close beaches but we still managed to drive to lyme Regis and goodrington sands for day trips so totally doable . Would definitely recommend.

The location was perfect for a girls getaway. Easy to find and easy to get to from the Forest of Dean!
The barn itself was plenty big enough for us to have dinner, sleep comfortably and 2 bathrooms always a winner.
The beds were comfy and clean, however the single under the window downstairs was very creaky when ever my friend rolled over it woke her and the other person in the room up. Possibly needs tightening or replacing?
Only a few bits that we wanted to let you know on the bbq hadn’t been emptied and there was nowhere to put that ashes so took a while for it to get hot enough! The WiFi was awful and being rural signal was patchy. Some of the girls found this to be an issue because of staying in contact with family looking after kids etc.
Other than that the hot tub was massive, the location was gorgeous helped by the wonderful weather we had! The barn was lovely and cool inside and we had a fantastic time. We also had dinner at The Canal which was amazing and would highly recommend.
Thanks for having us!

Very beautiful property ‘The Barn’ it was a lovely size and amazing hot tub! Great walks on doorstep which was so handy and friendly dog Reggie on-site looked after us as we ventured through the fields! Perhaps a bit of a discount or some sort of gesture could’ve been made by the owners due to hot tub not being set to correct temperature on first night, which meant we lost a days worth of hot tub time. Advice to future guests, when you arrive check the temperature which is located on the hot tub, you’ll need to lift the back part of the cover up to see it in the edge and make sure it’s set to at least 37 degrees. Also the windy stairs are so cute but hurt your feet/back of leg after a while so bring footwear to help with this! Also personally I thought the single beds were the comfiest, especially where I stayed which was the day bed on the landing!

The vacation was too short and we could not fully enjoy the comfort and beauty of the place. The cabin was very welcoming and clean, and the tube thief amazing! We will definitely be back!

Nice accommodation but a little small for 6 people. The upstairs bedroom isn’t practical, very small, with limited space to move and gets very hot!
The spiral staircase looks nice but again isn’t practical for children and older guests.
The owners live on site and are very friendly, approachable and responsive.

We really enjoyed the Barn. Fun accommodation with the hot tub for children aged 9 & 12. Very well equipped with high spec equipment & tastefully furnished. Immaculate. (The spiral staircase wouldn’t suit everyone). Thank you!

We had a great few days staying at The Barn... its a great location, very convenient for the Motorway and for Taunton, but quiet and in beautiful countryside. The Barn was cosy and really well equipped. There are some great pubs nearby ( The Firehouse is particularly good) . The farm shop onsite sells milk and various basics as well as home produced cider.
Would recommend.

The Barn provided a lovely spot for a multi-generational family weekend get together. The house is stunning. It is beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. The hot tub was a real bonus. We had everything we needed and would have loved to stay longer. The apple juice produced by the farm was a very nice welcome gift.

A last minute booking after our stay else were was cancelled. We had a great stay here and the hot tub was well used. The Barn itself is on a working farm, but that was not a problem. Inside the accommodation, it was clean and warm, had everything that we needed, fully eqpt kitchen. There was nothing that we needed that was not in the cottage. I found the bed comfortable and enjoyed a full nights sleep, which is not something I usually get when sleeping away from home. The towels were big and fluffy and smelled lovely. The owners were accommodating when we arrived a little early. I would recommend staying here and if we are looking to stay in this part of the country again would definitely look to boo here.

Relaxing break with friends. The Barn is a clean and pleasant accommodation which could take 7 - two doubles (one end suite), one twin and a single on a open landing above the living area with one shared bathroom, shower over bath. We soon learnt that only one person could shower at a time as using both the showers at the same time resulted in extreme temperature fluctuations.
The bottle of Apple juice left for us on arrival was very welcome and the hand wash and shampoos etc. I'm the bathroom were a welcome addition.
Do remember to take your own towels for use at the hot tub which is in a fenced off private patio area. There's a BBQ as well so come prepared with charcoal if you would like to use it.
Wi-Fi worked very well but phone signals variable all over the area depending on your network.
Small problem with flies but fly paper and spray were provided.
We enjoyed visits to Haynes motor museum, Wookey Holr, Seaton tramway and Clarke's Village. Information was provided for walking routes but in summer beware some paths a bit overgrown with steep concealed ledges. We are at the Farmer's Arms and The Bird in the Hand, lovely meals at both but do book for Sunday lunch.
Overall very clean and comfortable accomodation, ideal for a short break.

The Barn is located on a cattle farm which also grows strawberries and makes cider. What’s not to like?!! There are 3 bedrooms and an extra bed on the mezzanine. Our teenage son immediately claimed that as his lair. The main bedroom has an en-suite and there is a further large bathroom to service the other rooms. The kitchen has everything you need in terms of equipment and accessories. We were pleasantly surprised as usually there is something you need and it isn’t there. If you were to discover something , the owners would be more than happy to help. The Barn was spotless, the bedding of good quality and the biggest, most amazing towels. We stayed for 2 weeks and were given fresh laundry at the end of the first week. The hot tub is serviced everyday and it is a delight to come home to after a long day or to sit in and watch the stars. There are chickens and geese who have a daily promenade past the front door and will look in if it is open. A delightful sheep dog called Tess may pop by for a chat. The farm is located just outside Taunton and is perfectly located for exploring; Glastonbury, Clark’s Village, Exmoor, Weston-Super-mare, Wells and lots more are all a short drive. Kilve Beach is amazing for fossil hunting. There is a walking map in the Barn which is worth a study, the countryside is breathtaking. There are a host of pubs and independent restaurants nearby - we went to the Farmer’s Arms twice it is so good. Taunton has a cinema and bowling alley should you have a rainy day or fancy some evening entertainment. Taunton is also home to Somerset County Cricket ground so check for matches - our son went to watch and had a hugely enjoyable day. If you want peace and quiet, Big sky and bright stars, plenty of choices for day trips and stunning scenery, this is your place. We loved staying here and would go back in a heartbeat.

We (family of 5) went on a last minute break. Can’t fault the accommodation except for the amount of flies. Could really do with a fly strip or trap of some sort. Unfortunately with Covid a lot of places were still closed which meant we were restricted with what we could do especially as teenagers weren’t interested in scenic walks! Beaches are about 45 minutes away and Taunton is the main town which is about 15 mins away. Would recommend the boat centre for kayaking which was nearby.
