We stayed at Castle Cottage for my son’s wedding .
The location is perfect being so close to the actual wedding venue
The Groom , Best man and Groomsmen all got ready at the cottage whilst the Bridal party used the facilities in the main Castle .
The cottage is very well equipped and immaculately maintained.
It is full of character and very comfortable . The views of the Castle grounds are outstanding .
Fiona was our contact who looked after us so well , she couldn’t have been more helpful.
The setting is so idyllic I would definitely recommend this property especially if you have a wedding planned to place here .

I booked Wadhurst Castle Cottage for a few nights for my wedding in August - and I'm so glad I did! I stayed with my bridesmaids on the Friday night, and it was such a lovely space for us to have an evening together before the big day. The cottage was a great size and had everything we needed.

Fiona was fantastic - she was super quick to respond to my (many) questions over email, and was there to welcome us when we arrived.

And the location is absolutely perfect if you're attending/getting married at the Castle, it's less than a minute's walk - which meant inevitably when we were at the Castle and realised we had forgotten things we could easily pop back!

I would definitely recommend this cottage to others.

A lovely location and spacious rooms. This cottage is ideally situated for visiting gardens, coast, NT properties , steam railway etc.
It is an easy walk into Wadhurst for coffee, pub and provisions. The cottage is quiet and restful with lovely views into the castle grounds. Our dog was made very welcome. There are three bedrooms upstairs but only the one bathroom. There is a shower room downstairs with laundry facilities ... need to note if coming with a large party.
The kitchen is well equipped and heating and laundry facilities excellent.

A great stay in a lovely location! Cottage was well appointed and it was lovely to have the little touches - milk, butter, tea, coffee, home-made preserves, etc - all waiting for you upon arrival. Fiona was waiting to show us how the TV and wifi worked when we arrived. All in all - a lovely stay and a great setting for a celebration!

A cozy cottage furnished with love and taste with wonderful views from the 1st floor of the Castle, its garden and the rolling East Sussex countryside. We were very comfortable and could often use the small private garden for breakfast. The location is ideal for exploring the beautiful stately homes and gardens in the area, and it is also not far to the coast with its cliffs. We will not soon forget our vacation in this gorgeous place. Hopefully we can return one day!

Three couples and one dog convened at Castle Cottage to celebrate my belated 60th birthday. The cottage was warm, comfortable and situated in beautiful countryside but within easy walking distance of Wadhurst. The lounge is amazing with plenty of space for to sit and eat. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious with lovely views over the castle. Fiona was welcoming and helpful and there were some welcome additions to our food for the weekend including locally made jams, apple juice and a few staples. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. :)

We were disappointed overall with the standard of the cottage - we had expected premier standard and it certainly wasn’t that. Various small things such as dripping tap, leaking kettle, TV which often had no signal along with tired, worn decor and furnishings meant we would not return to this cottage. The kitchen felt and smelt damp and we felt the steep uneven stairs should have been mentioned in the description.

We take all our guest's comments very seriously and would have been very pleased to have had the opportunity to put right what we could had you raised these concerns at the time. I am sure that we could have rectified any small niggles to make sure that you enjoyed a more comfortable stay. You booked with us through Premier Cottages and we have been awarded a 4 star gold rating for several years after rigorous annual inspections from VisitEngland. Our entry also shows several images and a very accurate depiction of the old cottage and its comfortable, country furnishings. As you stayed with us over the Christmas period with very wintery weather it is possible that the cottage was not aired as much as usual but we have not had any reports of damp. The kitchen does have an old stone floor. We ought to mention that we always point out that the bottom two steps of the stairs are uneven and we have a sign on the wall to remind you should you forget. We do also mention it in our Accessibility Guide on the website. Apologies once again and best wishes for 2023.

We've being coming here for eleven years and it never disappoints with improvements each time. It is very peaceful. Lovely spacious bedrooms with views over the castle garden and the High Weald. Well placed for visiting gardens and attractions plus only a short walking distance to the local shops in the village. Help is on hand if needed and the welcome pack is a lovely addition.

We’d booked Castle Cottage for our family to stay before and after our daughter’s wedding at Wadhurst Castle. We had to postpone twice due to Covid, but Fiona was always very helpful. The cottage is delightful - the perfect setup for us, very clean, spacious and comfortable - and the setting superb. Extra touches like breakfast items and apple juice from their own apple trees were a lovely addition. We would highly recommend a stay here.

It was spacious and well equipped. Good location for walking. Would be good if it had been clearer in the description about the castle grounds as we were of the impression that we would be able to walk in them. Checking in time too late. Had a lovely time at the cottage and surrounding countryside was gorgeous. Lots of lovely walking places to visit. Dogs loved it. Wadhurst was a nice village with good amenities

The cottage is very comfortable and well equiped. It’s warm and there is a lot of space. Wadhurst is a nice village. There are beautiful walks around Wadhurst (muddy however). There also is a train station which is very good to have. Nice pubs/restaurants around. You’ll have a perfect view from the first floor. The garden, however is small.

A good sized cottage, a friendly welcome. Very close to the castle. We had a small child with us so had to move a few things out of the way.
There was a travel cot for the little one & high chair.
Everything is supplied, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, even cling film & foil.
Taps in the bathrooms need tightening.

This was our fifth stay at Castle Cottage though the first in the Autumn and with fantastic weather. The cottage was as good as ever, spacious well equipped and quickly warmed in the evenings. Fiona, the manager couldn't have been more helpful. It's peaceful location with views south over the gardens and park to the Weald beyond is wonderful Just a short walk to the local shops and and a choice of pubs plus other eating places a short drive away. Lots of places to visit generally within a half hour drive.

From the moment we caught sight of Fiona waiting to welcome us to Castle Cottage, my son and husband and I knew we had migrated to the right place. It had taken a lot of research to find CC but it was a gem and so, definitely worth it.

The cottage was completely furnished and spotless. Fiona gave us easy advice and excellent recommendations for runs, pub meals, shopping. She was thorough and very invested that we should feel comfortable. She answered every question fully and promptly.

So CC became a cozy home. CC was a perfect nexus for all of our explorations of Sussex. We loved coming back after a tiring day, having a nightcap while we relived it all together, before we sank into our comfy beds.

Enough provisions awaited us in the fully stocked kitchen to cover our first few breakfasts. This was a thoughtful gesture.

We cannot think of a single thing that we found inconvenient, uncomfortable or not perfectly delightful.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Castle Cottage in July 2021. I stayed there with my bridesmaids the night before my wedding at the castle and then with the partner on our wedding night and it was perfectly clean with lovely decor throughout.
It was amazing to have all of our stuff to hand throughout the wedding as there are not that many other places nearby in Wadhurst and we were impressed with the kindness and flexibility of the host regarding arrival time and any questions we had.
Room are bigger than they look in the images and the kitchen was very well equipped for a holiday rental.

Only thing I can think of to improve is that we couldn't find a hoover so that might be useful. We just wanted to leave it as clean as we found it!

Would definitely recommend to all friends and family for a lovely village getaway

We had a wonderful week at Castle Cottage. The cottage is in a fabulous location overlooking Wadhurst Castle and it's walled garden and the beautiful Sussex countryside. It is extremely peaceful but within very easy walking distance of Wadhurst and the local shops, pubs and takeaways. The cottage is very spacious, extremely well equipped even in these covid times, with everything you need for a self catering holiday, the beds are very comfortable and the cottage is warm and cosy. Fiona is very welcoming and was there to great us. She was extremely helpful before we arrived answering my questions very quickly and nothing was too much trouble for her. We loved the cottage and location so much that we have already booked for next year. This cottage will certainly become one of our 'go to places'.

We experienced a wonderful COVID break in this beautiful cottage. Plenty of space for 6, the two bathrooms being particularly useful! An amazingly well equipped kitchen there was nothing we wished we had brought and the welcome pack was appreciated.
Fiona was welcoming and the covid regulations well explained.
Only issue would be if you like a flat pillow, all those provided were exceptionally full.
We are looking forward to our return visit next year

A superbly quipped cottage in an ideal location - beautiful views of Wahurst Castle grounds; close to country houses and gardens, good local walks, easy access to the coast and the bonus of a local railway station. the central heating was particularly appreciated in a cold week in May.
[It would be worthwhile checking the orientation of the Free Sat dish. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, but I could not obtain BBC TV and ITV sound and image frequently broke up.]

From start to finish our stay was just perfect for our daughter’s

We had the best time. Despite the rain, despite covid, Castle cottage gave us a fabulous break. Cleaned to a high standard, cosy and with attention to detail. It's quiet which was exactly what we wanted. We are at home and found all we needed. Fions's communication was fast, thorough and helpful. We all agreed we want to return.

We booked our break at short notice and the hosts were very accommodating and super helpful. We took our 3 month old and they provided a cot and high hair. The welcome pack of local produce was amazing. They also go the extra mile in providing a dog towel, bowls lead etc just incase u forget anything. The cottage is beautiful and having the view of the castle from all of the bedrooms, my son loved it!

Great location as short walk into town, near some lovely pubs with great food.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and picturesque. Fiona was very generous with her time and we were pleasantly surprised by the welcome hamper (freshly made apple juice, homemade lemon drizzle cake, bread, eggs, etc). Fiona made us feel so welcome. The cottage has everything you could need, the surroundings are wonderful and close to the village for shopping and restaurants. The welcome hamper contained a lemon drizzle cake to die for. Excellent

The cottage was lovely and well placed for us to enjoy the wedding in the castle. There were lots of nice touches like a welcome basket. Would recommend!

Booked for the bridesmaids at a local wedding with reception at the castle. It was absolutely perfect. Spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. It was so pretty and exactly what we needed. The provisions were very much appreciated, especially the coffee and cake. Communication was very straightforward and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better place to be at this time.Thank you.

We stay often as my Mother lives nearby .
Fiona is very kind and organised helping make the stay very comfortable. Everything is thought of as we have two young children . The bedrooms are very comfortable and pretty and have views to the Castle . We all have a happy stay and are sad to say goodbye .

Castle Cottage is a delightful get away. The facilities staff were excellent and we stayed for two weeks to unwind from our house being renovated. It was a joy and I simply loved the area.

As always Castle Cottage proved to be a home from home. Very well equipped & a lovely welcome pack which now includes locally roasted coffee. Very clean & beautiful bedding. Fiona is an excellent host & is very knowledgeable about the area. Good place to travel around from & plenty to see in the area. I don’t doubt that we’ll return.
