Best place we have ever stayed in York! Lovely spacious apartment. Nice views across the city from the top floor. As a light sleeper I usually sleep really badly in hotels but this was so quiet and the blackout blinds were great! We slept so well every night!

Received advise from a friend to use Stays York to find accommodation in York. Met with Amanda (Manager) and she listened to our requirements and recommended Marygate apartments to us and arranged an inspection same day. Accommodation exceeds our expectations and requirements and my family and I are very happy and settled into York. We have extended our stay and have booked additional accommodation in Marygate for visiting family members next year. Highly recommend Stays York and Marygate Apartments, “superb - top notch” as the English say.
The apartment was clean and in a great location in walking distance from everything. Loved that it looked out onto the river and the little welcome bag of treats was lovely!
After excellent directions from Guy we parked up outside our cottage. Guy, Tracey and Tracey’s Mum were nearby so came to greet us and after a warm welcome we were soon inside. The Parlour is a beautiful cosy cottage, the log burner made it extra cosy on what was a very cold weekend but really wasn’t needed for heat just looked amazing when lit! The welcome pack is the best we’ve ever seen. Ideal location, a bus stop at the top of the drive into York if you don’t want to use the car or it’s just a few minutes from Rawcliffe Bar park and ride. We stayed for three nights across the bank holiday weekend, having previously lived in the centre of York a few years ago. This is a beautifully appointed house on probably the most exclusive street in York and is central to all that York has to offer whilst being very private. The only thing to be mindful of is that the Minster bells are loud and regular, but they stop for c 12 hours from 8pm. We’d be keen to stay again.
This flat is the best yet we have stayed in York, we would stay there again, happy to recommend it !
Great cottage within hotel grounds so all the amenities of hotel bar and restaurant fully available….. comfy, cosy and clean cottage with great character and superb base for short walk to delightful Sandsend or the bustier Whitby….!!! We booked last minute and this apartment proved to be a good choice. Located a short walk from the city centre it is an ideal base for exploring the historic city of York. The apartment is modern with all of the fittings in very good condition. It is situated in an apartment block with a security door with no noisy neighbours during our stay. Although there is no parking available on site, it isn't difficult to find a space nearby. There are three supermarkets, a local shopping centre and a large public park all within walking distance. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children under 10) and we had a lovely stay at No. 8. The loft conversion provided a great space for the kids to hide away and there was plenty of space in the whole house not to be on top of each other. Comfy beds and sofas, very clean and tidy, just a lovely place to stay. We didn't use our car during our stay as the house is a short walk away from the city centre and a stones throw from the city walls. We would defintely recommend this house.
This was the second time my wife and myself have been to this holiday property. It is very well located close to all attractions and shopping shops and it was clean , tidy and well equipped. The customer service was exceptional.
There was nothing we could fault with this apartment, everything was great. Parking in York is an added bonus too. Lovely touch with the welcome hamper, fresh milk would be better than UHT, but can understand the reasons why it was supplied in the welcome pack.
Overly Satisfied with the Cottage. Tbh the pictures don’t do it any justice whatsoever, the decor in this place was second to none. Absolutely stunning. Quite possibly the best air BnB we have ever used. Hats off to the owner. Highly recommended, perfect location.

Beautiful modern and comfortable apartment. Great location for quick walk into centre of York. Located on 1st floor of the County House, with both lift and stair access. Apartment is right next to lift, so you can hear the lifts from the bedrooms on that side. Fortunately, the building was not busy so the noise was limited. Able to leave car parked up during the stay which was a bonus, however, the parking bay for the apartment is right under a tree and my car was covered in bird muck! I did move my car because of this to another bay but could only do this as the parking was not full...more

We enjoyed our stay at the Falcon Tap. It was close to the train station and sites in historic York. The bed was comfortable, the unit was very clean, and contained all necessary things for our stay. We would stay here again.
We return to Brecks Farm every time we visit family in York for the simple reason that it is the best place ever. The owners make this a very special place to stay in so many ways - and they even lay on glorious sunsets over the fields! We will be back again very soon - as long as there is a cottage available. A more than 5 star experience.

Perfect weekend get away. We stayed with our two children and they loved the place as much as we did. Great space, furnishings, history and ideally located between York and Wetherby. Would definitely recommend to friends and hope to stay again ourselves soon.

A very well equipped top floor apartment, with unrestricted views over the city and to the Minster. Spacious, clean and central for most attractions. Added bonus of car parking. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a couple of late opening convenience stores. Only downside was the mattress in master bedroom, with broken springs - needs replacing.
Amazing apartment, so comfortable and incredibly stylish. We loved the thoughtful touches and the decor! It is lovely and quiet whilst being really close to all the sights and the bed was amazing! One of the best apartments we’ve stayed in and would highly recommend stay in The Grand.
We were delighted with the accommodation at 30 Woodsmill Quay which had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend break. The apartment was spotless and the kitchen really well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the fantastic views of the river with much to watch day and night! The location is only a short walk from the railway station and everything York has to offer.

This cottage was amazing. We also booked another cottage for other family members which worked really well. Clean, comfortable, spacious, and really well equipped. Guy and Tracey were very friendly and helpful too. I'd highly recommend!

A well appointed apartment in a wonderful position, close to minster and with it's own parking. A rare find in York.
Lovely well maintained building even the lift is polite. You can't really go wrong with this accommodation everything is new and there's a welcome pack. Tesco is only 50m away and your right in the town nothing is more than a 15min walk and there are loads of restaurants and places to visit. Our only comment would be get a bigger sofa. After a day walking round a more comfortable one would be appreciated. Oh wifi password in document is wrong due to a capital letter issue. 5 stars definitely.
Mostly perfect my only suggestion would be to find a way of cooling the upper floors in high summer… otherwise a lovely experience all round.

What a fantastic place! 5-minute walk from bars, restaurants and shops. The car park was accessible via a 2-minute walk from the back door through the rear alleyways behind the property, albeit a little pricy. The property had everything you could need and more for a stay for a few days (apart form a pizza cutter ha). Access to the unit was easy by just following the simple instructions provided. the only issue we experienced was in relation to the heating was a bit of a pain to use. Had a lovely stay at the property. Only issue was, the shower plug was blocked with hair. This caused some water going onto the bathroom floor. All OK when I cleaned the plug. I not5this mentioned in a review before,. This needs cleaning after every stay. The welcome pack wasa very thoughtful idea. Throughly enjoyed my stay.
Southbank Cottage exceeded our expectations. Very clean, comfortable and modern with everything needed in place Lovely welcome pack on arrival and Christmas decorations made such a nice welcome. Property is only a 10-15 minute walk into the Centre of York. Parking was a bonus outside the property all arranged by Stays York and included in the price Would definitely return to this lovely property in a very nice area of York.
We’ve had a fantastic 3 night stay at this gem of a property, and wished that it was longer. It is exactly as it looks in the photos, and the hamper of treats was a lovely touch. The location is literally a few minutes walk to the Minster, and just round the corner from the hop on hop off bus, and the parking space is such a bonus. The apartment is beautiful, so well equipped and modern, peaceful yet close to everything. We will definitely be back!

Great location with fabulous views. The apartment is fabulous, modern with large windows in the living area. Note there are stairs up to the suite door.
We went for a long weekend and could not have asked for a better stay, the apartment was immaculate and the location perfect for the city centre shops and restaurants. There were 4 adults and more than enough space, the bedrooms were big enough, the only issue was there was not much hanging space in the wardrobe of the en-suite bedroom. Our first stay in this property, but in one of our favourite areas of the city. It was a pleasant ten minute stroll to the Minster. The weather was cold but the apartment was very chic, cosy and well appointed. The parking permit provided meant we could leave the car on the street nearby. However, we walked everywhere during our stay as there is so much to see in the city. A lovely break.
We booked a very last minute stay at The Falcon Tap for two nights and loved it so much, we ended up staying an extra night! The apartment was really clean and was a home away from home. The little welcome bag waiting for us was a wonderful touch and very appreciated! It's only a 10 minute walk into the centre and near enough to everything (even for me with a dodgy foot!) I'd been planning to stay in one of the hotels near the city walls so that we could walk into the centre easily, then I stumbled across this apartment on the StayYorks website. Lovely place to stay for our family of three. We could eat breakfast while looking out towards historic Gifford's Tower and walking to/ from the city centre was well under 10 minutes each way. Booking and check-in process was easy, all information was provided several days upfront. The flat was clean, nicely furnished and everything we needed was there. The location was great right in the city centre. We had a very nice stay.
We needed a last minute get away with the dog and this place was perfect. A lovely, snug cottage which was okay perfectly located in the centre of York. The cottage was very luxury inside and had everything you needed from comfy bed, powerful walk in shower, decent size kitchen with washing machine, oven and dishwasher. We had a 3 night stay in the Chambers and it was Amazing. The apartment is beautifully decorated with a very luxurious feel whilst still being incredibly comfortable. The bed is the best we slept in on our travels, we slept so well as it is lovely and quiet. The location is fabulous with a really easy stroll into York. We will definitely be back, can’t recommend this apartment enough.
Great apartment in central location. Fairly spacious for a modern flat. Comfortable beds and quality bedding. One criticism was that there was no soap in the bathrooms, minor detail but important.

Right on the river front (ideal for people watching lol) so the views were lovely. We had 30 degree weather our full stay so the fans in the bedroom at night were a god send. We weren’t able to access Netflix on the bedroom tv like it said we could but the tv in the living room worked fine

We stayed at Victoria Cottage for our 15 Year Anniversary and we loved it. It is minutes walking distance from the Town Centre, great location. The house itself is lovely, very clean and has everything you need. We enjoyed it that much that we stayed an extra two days, which was no problem with the owners and we just called up, booked again and just paid over the phone. My only negative comment would be that it was quite expensive but it is in the prime location and very clean and tidy so can't really moan.
Really nice property, easy to find and enter, good details from management company, location was amazing to walk to everything, loved the geese outside the window but they did make a racket sometimes, the property was in very good condition, we did struggle with the heating instructions but sussed it eventually, was concerned about the bed but it was big enough and comfortable, would love to return.

The Smithy was ideal accommodation. Lots of personal space, pleasant surroundings and a good location for the city centre. The hosts took time to ensure we had all we needed for our stay from towels, toiletries and milk in the fridge to the extra mile with gift bag of goodies and wine

Very nice clean apartment in centre of York. Overall very happy with the accommodation just 2 small things to mention - Kitchen is in a very small room in the corridor, with no natural light. - Door to the lounge is quit low, so for us all being over 6.3 we have to duck in order to not hit our heads.
we spent an extended stay here. the best of it? dawn, angela and isabella - the concierges - were like sunshine every morning, making us feel at home when we were so far from home. the lay out of the apartment (bedrooms with en-suites either side of the central living and kitchen) gave us privacy in a small space. the flat was just very, very liveable.
This is a lovely property in a really pleasant area which is very close to the centre of York and yet is quiet and peaceful. The property is very clean, well equipped and well presented with comfortable beds and furniture and everything is well maintained apart from a small issue with a bathroom door handle, which is the only reason for the lower rating in the condition category, We were very pleased with the provisions and treats that were left for us and the information provided is done so in a warm and welcoming way so you feel very much at home here. Lovely flat and handy location for town. Good customer service from the team (allowed us to have a slightly later check out which was very helpful with having a young baby). On check out you have to take bins out otherwise risk being charged extra. Bit disappointed in this and you don’t expect to have to do so when you’re on holiday especially as this is a professional letting, not Airbnb and standard checkout is 10am. We’d always leave the flat clean and tidy, but would have expected this task to be included in the overall price.
An Excellent apartment only a few minutes walk to the city. Spotlessly clean. Had a lovely wake up call with the geese taken flight in the mornings. Loved the place.

A very late 3 day booking. Simple and comfortable little place in a really excellent location for exploring York on foot. Free parking outside property in quiet no through road despite its location was a real plus. Decor is modern and neutral The outside garden/courtyard area however is nothing more than a small narrow strip adjoining the kitchen and bathroom presumably all that's left after extending into the once garden, it was nice to be able to open the door to this area to let the fresh air in but its not a place to enjoyably sit out in really. 3 or 4 min walk to a supermarket for ...more
We had a very pleasant stay at this wonderful cottage !! It's located a bit out of the city, but if u have a car you can always travel... The staff was very friendly, we had two emergencies, and they addressed it very quickly !!! I think I'd plan another trip to York in summer with my full family, to stay in middlethorpe cottages !!
The apartment is very centrally located with every amenity catered for. Excellent standard of fixtures and fittings with easy to follow instructions for entry/exit. The small bathroom/shower room could benefit from having some shelving or place to put toiletries/make up as the sink is for a cloakroom with not much space to cater for anything more than a toothbrush. But this was a minor issue which didn’t distract from the overall positivity of our stay.

Our stay was wonderful, the property it’s very beautiful, nice and clean, very quiet, nice surroundings , fantastic views, balcony, everything you need . This apartment is in a great location within the city walls and near to all the attractions. It is exactly as it appears in the pictures. I have no complaints. Loved that there was an M&S right across the street. Would definitely stay there again.

Just love this apartment and its location! Just a couple of niggles which affected my rest - guests who stay in The Loft apartment, above. Banging doors and moving furniture, the sound is amplified in the night and early hours, far be it for bed time rules to be imposed, but worth noting! This apartment also has free allocated parking, if you’re not actually ‘in’, occasionally appears to be a bit of a free for all!
Great property. Modern, stylish and welcoming. Two cosy rooms, spacial kitchen and living room. It has almost everything you need for a short or long stay in York. Perfect for a single couple or a family. Molly has definitely helped to arrange this a lot. Good location, it takes around 15 minutes to the Minster and the city centre.

Great property for a family of four. The location was ideal for us. Only negatives were smell of smoke from neighbouring pub, the shower did not drain well (reported that) and the stairs were a bit steep but fine for us with our older children. We visited York for a week and it was the perfect apartment for a family holiday. A brilliant property in the centre of York. Highly recommend! We will definitely book it again when we come back to York.
Whilst we loved the decor and the location, the comfort of the main bed and the pull-out sofa was lacking. The main bed needs a better mattress and despite the property management had the bed base repaired, it was still not up to normal expectations. Apart from this, we enjoyed all of the other furniture and decorations in the flat.
I spent 3 months here, it is really great experience! It is located just less than 5 minutes walk to the city centre but it is really quiet and peace but also in the safe location. The room is really nice and comfy plus a river view. They also provide all kitchen necessities. I have contacted with Molly, she is really lovely she always kind and help me with every concerns or enquiries I have. Also the cleaner team is really nice and professional. I do recommend this place (and agency) to those who is looking for a place to stay in York.
Rambling Rose cottage was immaculately clean and fresh and smelled beautiful, my compliments to your house keeping. We loved the quirky layout and each room is tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. The kitchen is very well equipped, everything thoughtfully provided. We had a pleasant stay at 22 North Parade over New years. The house is cosy and well furnished. Location is ideal, only a 10 mins walk into town and there are river walks approx 10-15 mins in the other direction. We would definitely recommend to friends Visiting York. Small things for lenders to review are, dog gate needs to be more secure, court yard gate is stiff and hard to open for dog access through to kitchen.

A great place to stay. Very clean and enough space for two, only a 5 minute walk from the city. We didn't use are car once over the 3 days. We parked our car on site which was handy, some rooms come with parking some however do not and it will cost you £13 for 24 hours. The only downside to the room was the single glazed window which you could here people using the old wooden walkway at the side of the building and there voices also carried especially the late night returnees, other private apartments on the walking had got secondary glazing.
Perfect location and one of the very few properties to offer guaranteed off street parking. The 5-10 minute walk into the city centre is directly along the scenic riverside path making it ideal for avoiding busy roads with children. Lovely hamper was a bonus. Whole flat really well maintained and in great condition.
There garage door broked but it was solved. We would like it to be solved more quickly and not to insist, but Julia and Molly understood perfectly the issue and managed the situation perfectly.
It locates in the heart of York. It is close to the city centre and York Minster. Stylish and clean. Amazing studio either for one person or two people. Many lovely restaurants, cafes, bars and some supermarkets on your doorstep. Molly's always patient and thoughtful, did help a lot!
House is well equipped and very clean. The location is absolutely central in Amble and i would recommend it, even for people with pets, as it was ideal for our Dog.

We stayed at Chez Mannion whilst on tour in the Grand Opera House and it was a wonderful stay. The beds were really luxurious and the kitchen was really well equipped with plenty of basics to get us started as well as a lovely welcome hamper! The property had such a cosy feel and we would definitely book if we are ever in York again!
We cannot find fault with One Clementhorpe Maltings! It was brill! We had excellent communication from Stays York from the initial booking to the text confirming the accommodation was ready to check in. The home itself was fantastic, very well decorated and very clean. It felt like home from home! It's also has a quirky feeling with the old columns, back stairs and chambers near the front door. Location was excellent, especially for the Saturday bacon buttie run on Bishy Road!

I had stayed at Cocoa Suites before, but in a 1 bedroom apartment, and it was outstanding and faultless, hence my deliberately choosing Cocoa Suites with Stays York again. Whilst this last stay was good, it did fall short of the high standards already set. The biggest disappointment was that the studio was not perfectly clean (hairs, in the bathroom, kitchen and in the bed and rubbish under the sofa. Nice, cosy little apartment on the ground floor. Nice quiet location only a couple of minutes walk from the centre. Only negative was the kettle which we didn’t use due to the limescale on the spout and inside. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. Close to the beach and not far from Whitby. Clean and well equipped. The only downside was no outside seating. The seating in the photo belonged to the next cottage.
We had a great long weekend here. House was comfortable; nice and warm, good beds, kitchen well set up etc. Distance into city centre was perfect, some great cafes nearby. We stayed at moatside gate for 1 week cottage is gorgeous very warm close to town centre. It is nice and private lovely and clean plus modern . We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return thank you
Kitchen sink unit door was hanging off ,the wood flooring had gaps that i had to push back into place in the kitchen , in the bathroom the toilet roll holder was set in the wall so far you could not reach it from the toilet, also hinges on toilet seat where rusty .When arriving was advised there would be parking permit in key safe ,on phoning the emergency number was told it was not needed it was digital ,but the information said it would be there and to place it back in the key safe when leaving or we would be charged for it ,and to finish it off when leaving from the 3rd floor the lift was o...more
First trip to York and it was amazing. Just minutes walk to all the prime locations, restaurants and bus routes to get anywhere in the city. It was a pleasure dealing with them when we needed to extend our stay because of the rail strike. Will definitely return.
An excellent location for a lovely apartment to use as a base for our short break in York. The staff in the office were so helpful & sorted out the keys for us when we got held up on our journey. The lady who met us at the flat with the keys was also brilliant making sure we knew where everything was and even helping us take the bags upstairs! The parking space is a real bonus to the flat as well. Lovely, clean, modern apartment in a great location with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. Only issue was the walls being very thin and a courtyard being just outside the bedroom window meant that some groups returning from night out on Saturday were noisy.
Apartment is the same as what we see from the photo. Location is near to the train station and apartment is clean and fully equip. The only thing is there is no lift and we need to climb four storeys. Otherwise, all are good and I would recommend to other travellers.

We really enjoyed our stay at SummerMews. The apartment was very well equipped for cooking which we took full advantage of. It was centrally located with a five minute walk into the centre of York and with easy access to nice walks along the river. Would definitely recommend this apartment and we wouldn't hesitate to return ourselves.
I booked a 3 night stay for me and my mum to explore York. Location of property very good. For 2 out of our 3 days we were inconvenienced by not having hot water or heating due to a problem with the boiler. A gas engineer was arranged but did not arrive until late afternoon to fix the problem, this left us with no shower facilities prior to us going out for our evening meal. We were disappointed that we had no courtesy call and no offer of a small token of compensation from Stay York. Such a shame.
Great location, room was very nice and clean just needs a bit of a tidy up as the door on the boiler was missing and the floor in the bathroom is coming up. The security lighting outside makes you feel you’re sleeping through the day; blackout blinds would help. It’s in a great area, Partisan, skosh, rattle owl are 3 great places to eat and the Ackhorne pub, falcon bar are great if you like Beer.
Amazing. Spent three nights over Christmas and just loved it. Can't wait to book again. Beautiful apartment and they even put up a Christmas tree and decorations which was lovely. Perfect facilities and location for a mini break in York. The apartment was warm, clean and well equipped. Located within the city walls and within 10 minutes walk of the heart of the main attractions.
The customer service from yourselves was outstanding, unfortunately not from the property owner. Under the circumstances we had a relaxing stay and will use you again in the future to stay in another property.. We had a very close family bereavement to which the property owner refused a date change .
The property is in an ideal, quiet location and within walking distance to access city centre sights. Well designed with a small outdoor area, it is suitably furnished and equipped for up to 4 adults. Modern, clean and uncluttered in a clever design.
Lovely modern and well thought out apartment, very clean and well equipped. Welcome pack a nice touch. One of us found bed to be very comfortable the other wasn’t to keen, ( the only reason I gave it 4 stars on comfort) but it would not stop us booking the apartment again. Would have been more convenient to have 2 sets of keys for the apartment front door and more detailed instructions for the heating. I look forward to staying again when we are next in York.
We have stayed in the cottages on the Raithwaite estate for years, but this year was the most disappointing for the money. Now in private ownership the maintenance and cleaning is not being kept to a standard required for the price. Paintwork needs attention, carpets and furniture needs cleaning, table lamps have gone missing, tiles in bathrooms are broken etc. It was all spotless when new and owned by the hotel. A perfect view of Clifford's Tower and a great location. Nowhere in the city is more than a few minutes' walk away. Surprisingly quiet for such a city location. Just what we wanted.
Fantastic location! Nice little flat. Adequately equipped. Big comfy bed. Garden to look out at as well as part of city wall. Couldn’t sit on terrace because of bees all around beehive in garden. Second visit so we knew all about access. Arrived on rubbish day so passage way a mess and difficult to access by disabled. Still no stool in the bathroom.
We have just enjoyed 4 wonderful nights here. We visit York a lot but this is the first time we have been so central and we absolutely LOVED it! The view of the Minster from the bedroom window is so unique and special. Great location at a great price. It was less expensive than the nearby hotels when I booked, plus it has the advantage of a kitchen for self-catering.
Property is in a great location for exploring the City with good facilities, secure parking is a bonus but could be a challenge to get into with anything larger than a family saloon.
The property is beautifully decorated with every nearly detail considered. The beds are particularly great and the car parking is easy. However, Northern Flowerhouse is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues and this really needs to be flagged up in the description on the website. The stairs are more vertiginous and the treads narrower than your typical terrace and the shower is over a very high bath with no rail to hold. The apartment is fantastic value for money. The beds are comfortable and it is close to town. Bad points - it is located on a very busy road and is very noisy with traffic and drunks into the early hours so make sure you have ear plugs!

A lovely property that's a short walk from the city centre. We hardly used our car. House was spacious and clean. Beds were comfy and bathroom was good. Kitchen was also good however the kitchen equipment was very minimal. There were only two suitable size cups for a cup of tea and no small plates. The cutlery needed replacing. 6 Cottages ex Stables, beautifully converted, situated alongside Middlethorpe Hall, once an upmarket Night Club/Restaurant, now a hotel. Peace and quiet guaranteed. Close to York racecourse and Bishopthorpe village for shops and Pubs, York City centre a short drive away. What let Cottage Nos.1 down was it needed cleaning from floor to ceiling, Cobwebs in most rooms, leather bedhead thick with dust, among other things. The apartment was compact but very well equipped. Very clean and well presented. Great location just outside the city walls, a 5 minute walk into town with lots of nice bars and restaurants on the way. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Amazing property and exactly what we were looking for as we had a wedding near by. House was spotless throughout and had everything you could possibly need. Quality bed linen and really comfortable beds. We had drove over from Dublin and found the parking a little tricky but plenty of parking on other streets nearby so no major issue.
Upside, fantastic location, 5 minutes walk from Minster, convenient for Sainsburys and Coop, plenty of accommodation for 6 people, house had everything we needed. downside, no parking, public rooms small, TV in upstairs lounge not connected, no toilet on ground floor, unable to adjust temperature in shower, gas hob unit faulty unable to light 2 of the hobs, in general the house is a bit tired.
The cottage was fantastic. Arrived and very clean tidy and welcoming, although it was far too hot on arrival and took several hours to cool down. There were a few issues with the toilet flush, which broke, but Stays York were quick to reply regarding fixing the problem. Plenty of crockery and glasses which was brilliant when you are entertaining and the facilities were good.

The property is in a quiet street with parking for 1 car, free parking to be found at bottom of street, then turn left. Comfortable clean spacious property but some of the interior and furniture needs updating/replacing. Well equipped, beds comfy enough but single bed near falling apart and needs replacing. Shower curtain also needs replacing. No door on front bedroom, only an interior hall door, this could be a problem for groups? We stayed for a week in this well-equipped flat. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking. Rooms were well-laid out and comfortable. Location is excellent. There is an M & S foods about 4 blocks away and a large Sainsbury’s within walking distance (and a taxi ride back). We got our “fit to fly” Covid tests at the Whitehall Clinic in Leeds for our return flight home.
This was our third stay at the property. A very comfortable and well equipped apartment, perfectly located for the independent shops and restaurants of “Bishy” Road. It isn’t far from the train station or the centre of the City either. The bedroom is spacious and the bed very comfortable - though we had a rude awakening very early one morning when the window cleaner turned up unexpectedly! The accommodation was in good location, working order and comfortable beds. Sadly let down by lack of attention to detail. Eg not helpful to receive a welcome hamper with coffee for cafetière when there is no cafetière provided. The oven was not clean, there were no bin bags (frustrating when the terms are to remove rubbish on departure). Very unhappy to find prior occupants lingerie in the pillow case! A mixed experience. The Pigsty provides spotlessly clean, modern, light and airy accommodation, in a very well designed small area. It's slightly minimalist, which suited us, but a few additional touches such as wine glasses as well as tumblers, a coffee table by the sofa and instructions for the heating and television would be welcome. You get across 4 doors before getting into the flat (3 keys is needed), and 11 steps (up and down in order to get into the flat. the only air window is the courtyard big sliding door. Sheets and bellow sheet of upstairs bedroom were not clean (with obvious stains on it). the flat is a large size, cleaning suppliers, and a welcome gift, are provided provide. Location is Perfect.
Great location just inside city walls with 5 minutes walk to local shoos and 10 minutes walk to city centre. Quiet and easy parking. Comfortable and decor like stepping back in time (in a good way) with thousands of books adirning the walls. Everything you could need in kitchen and bathroom. If being picky, tv a little small by today's standards and limited space to hang smart clothes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in York. Our accommodation was excellent, a home away from home, so comfortable and spacious, in a perfect location. Previous reviews had mentioned the noise factor however with the double glazing in place, noise was not a problem. Can’t recommend Number One High Petergate highly enough. And Stays York was delightful to deal with, they made the whole process easy and we felt very welcome.
Great looking apartment, amazing location, however we were let down by some small details which really impacted our stay - the kitchen was not as well stocked as we were expecting with no knives for chopping, however did have a bread knife and steak knives but only 4 spoons for a house that sleeps 6…the spare duvets had no covers on them, so not sure how they are kept clean between guests, the downstairs bedroom has curtains so thin, the lights were shinning straight through all night, coupled with the constant noise from loitering outside McDonalds meant very little sleep for the guests in t...more
Great customer service, very communicative and responsive. Shame about the smell which had to be sorted ourselves. Although it was resolved easily it doesn’t set a good first impression, and for the price it’s a shame you have to air it out yourselves as this is clearly a known problem.
Quiet place, beautiful views of the river and walking distance to everything. Has its own washing machine and has some amenities to be comfy and feel like home. It doesn’t have a coffee machine and drawers to store clothes

A delightful cottage on the Floss river where we would watch a family is Swans glide by daily .Truely idillic the cottage had everything we needed. The cleaners did and amazing weekly clean. The space was large and quiet but right in the middle of all the activity. Stays management we’re very responsive to everything we required. We totally recommend .
Easy to find & ample parking, the house was comfortable for the 3 of us but would be a squeeze for 6.
Access is difficult: why do door handles need to be pulled up to lock? Where are the details for getting in the front door? Why was the access code for the rear gate wrong (relied on next door neighbour to get in!).Who says it has two bathrooms? How do older people take their luggage upstairs? Answer: they don't - they dress downstairs. Why does the Nespresso machine leak water? Despite all that, lovely place to stay, and so very close for a good walk through old York. And last but not least, short walk to the York Horse Races and Park Run.

Apartment is in a high quality block which was developed recently. Standard of finish is high and bathrooms in particular are very nice. Apartment is very sparsely equipped if you are staying for more than just one night - one sofa in living room can only seat three people - no armchair or second sofa. Kitchen equipment is basic. Bedrooms are sparsely furnished eg no bedside lamps. Location is very convenient for access to city centre.
The cottage was virtually perfect. Comfortable beds, clean, everything was new, lovely position even in a chilly March. We were 2 couples and all of us were impressed . However the bedroom TVs which rely on a tv app would not allow connection until the cookies warning was enabled and we could not enable or reject them. The apartment was well kept, clean and had everything there one could ask for in a short stay. The location was nice, as it was about a 15 min walk or less to the center of the city were there's always activities and food to enjoy.

Overall a fine stay but some things could be improved: Parking permit available on arrival - we got a ticket Better quality bedding (pillows and mattress) Hessian carpet as you come out of the bathroom isn't pleasant No blinds in bedroom - v strange! While we were not put in the original apartment that we had booked through booking.com-it was still a nice apartment. Easy walk from the train station. Clean and appropriately furnished. The only downside is that it is very difficult to get past the hanging rail in the bedroom if you are sleeping on the right-hand side of the bed. So you better not need the bathroom in the middle of the night! Otherwise, a pleasant stay.
The house is well located for a city break, 5mins zigzagging through some back lanes and you’re within the inner city walls via monk gate. Procedures are swift and self explanatory. The property itself has seen many generations of guests which is mainly felt in the bed and reception rooms. Kitchen and bath are best for cleanliness. The cleaners know their job. Firstly and most importantly the studio was spotless when we arrived, very good cleaning, as you'd expect while still in a pandemic. A rather nice hamper awaited which added to the wow when we got there. The bed was lovely and certainly no problems there. Plenty of plug sockets, more than anyone could need. I was originally supposed to live in this apartment for a whole month, but ended up staying for one night. The closet (which was the main reason for why I chose this apartment for my stay) was clearly not cleaned, as it had loads of spider-webs and giant spiders. In addition to this, the pots I was going to use to boil my pasta-water was rusty, and so I couldn't use them. The new pan was totally fine, and I managed to boil some water there.
