We spent Christmas in Caro’s Cottage this year and the cottage was so magically decorated for Christmas that even the more mature members of our party were wowed! As usual, the cottage was wonderful; cozy, comfortable and well equipped - I even managed to cook a full Christmas dinner in the kitchen! Thank you to Karl and Miles for hosting us once again, your generous touches and helpful nature really did make this holiday special. (Thank you also for letting us extend our stay at short notice). Of course we will be back and so we look forward to seeing you again soon! X
Immaculate and beautifully presented cottage. Everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay. Super comfortable bed with high quality bedding. Very quiet for a good nights sleep.Small but perfectly formed kitchen which is well equipped. Private sunny patio with lovely furniture. Beautiful gardens. Washing machine and dryer and freezer for guest use at no extra charge. Karl is the perfect host who genuinely cares about his guests.
Had a much needed week away at Cartole Cottages, great welcome from Karl. Beautiful cottage, very clean and cosy and in a lovely location. We shall return.
We stayed at Penny's cottage for 7 days during the October half term and was certainly not disappointed. Karl was very welcoming, and the cottage was cosy and immaculate with outstanding views. Everything is clean and tidy and the grounds are well maintained. I would highly recommend and have already booked our return for next year.
This is the second time that we have been to Cartole Cottages and it was just as good the second time around. Shippen Cottage is very comfortable, pretty, with a great sitting out area and with all amenities. Karl and Miles were, as usual, very friendly and helpful. The cottages are in a lovely quiet area surrounded by fields, but not far from anything, the best of both worlds.
A gem of a cottage in a tranquil rural location set on a spacious footprint of gardens, Kernewyck proved an ideal base for the three of us (plus dog) to explore the area. Squeaky clean and warm, it's also great to come home to. The kitchen is tiny but well-equipped. The plus from a small kitchen is that it keeps you honest about being tidy! And it's an added bonus to be able to meet and talk directly with the owners, especially when they're as helpful and welcoming as Karl and Miles.
