We absolutely love coming to stay at Cartole Cottages. Karl and Miles are the perfect hosts and they have always been super helpful when booking and any queries we have during our stay. Caro's Cottage is the perfect base for our growing family of four. The cottage is very comfortable and very well set out with all your home from home comforts. Fabulous. Owners onsite, greeting on arrival and quick tour around the grounds, most helpful in quickly getting our bearings. The cottage is small, warm and cosy. Comfortable sofas and beds, spotlessly clean. Surrounded by countryside, it really is a lovely location. Close to Looe and neighbouring villages with small village stores, larger shops in Bodmin and Liskeard. We stay in Cornwall a lot, parking is usually an issue, Linney cottage has parking outside the front door, so much easier for unloading and bringing in the shopping. I can’t fault the the place we stayed at it was perfect we will not go to the West Country anymore simply because the parking was an absolute ripoff in Looe , and all other places you need a mortgage to pay all the car parking facilities and shops were ultra expensive so we will take our customer somewhere other than the West Country
Shippen cottage really is a home from home. The hosts Karl and Miles cannot do enough for you and have a wealth of knowledge on the local area for dining out etc. The location is excellent. The cottage has everything you need and is furnished beautifully. I cannot recommend this place highly enough
This is the third time we have stayed in Cartole Cottages but the first time staying in Penny’s. It was perfect for us and our 1 year old. Karl was able to provide a bed guard and a stair gate which was really helpful. The play area is lovely and really good for all ages. Our 1 year old loved the swings, trampoline and the Wendy house with a play kitchen in. Karl checked in with us regularly to see how we were and that everything was ok. We returned to Cartole Cottages this year after a fabulous week spent at ‘The Linney’ last year. Everything was great again - the cottage was spotless, cosy and comfortable. The play area / trampoline was utilised every day by my two children who couldn’t wait to get there. The owner is friendly and welcoming and will help with any need you have. All in all, a lovey base for exploring north / west Cornwall.
