Great location in Portree with groceries, restaurants, and shops right there. We were able to explore the island in all directions, and then enjoyed coming back to relax at the end of the day. It's also walking distance to the start of the Scorrybreac path with its gorgeous views. Having a parking spot right across the street was great. The house is on the main road with a lot of people stopping across the street to take photos of the view of the harbor, but it was surprisingly quiet inside the house, so we didn't notice, and we had the bonus of seeing the gorgeous and picturesque view of the ...more
The view from the living room is amazing, a fact that was highly appreciated by my husband who got really sick during our stay at Creag Dubh and couldn’t leave the house. Portree is really close, all major places of interest can be reached quite easily.
The property was in an excellent location to see all of the attractions. Beautiful and clean property. All amenities were catered for. Would happily stay on the Isle of Skye again and would definitely choose this property to stay in.
We loved our stay here. This lovely little cottage is fairly newly built and is very well equipped with a modern kitchen and bathroom, beautifully furnished, very comfy bed and is very cosy with full central heating plus an added woodburner in case of wet and deary days. It was very handy to have the use of the washing machine. The view from the big patio windows is amazing and we didn’t need to close any of the curtains as there’s no light pollution. It’s only a few miles from Broadford which has a very good Co-op store, a couple of take-aways and a variety of places to eat – the Shellfish...more
5 Galtrigill is a lovely cottage and perfect if you are looking for a getaway from the beaten paths and tourist streams on Skye. The location is right at the end of the street so there is hardly any traffic. The property is furnished and decorated with care and love, not only a rental object but with personal touch of the owners. The house is comfy but has more than enough space with an exceptionally well equipped kitchen and all appliances you need. With enough supplies you could stay for months. Highlights are the living room with a fire place and the bathtub overlooking the coast and sea. T...more
We had a wonderful stay here! The location is absolutely stunning – it felt like we were at the end of the world, in the best possible way. The house itself is spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. Our kids loved the selection of games inside, which made evenings together extra fun. It’s also a fantastic base for exploring the area, with so many activities within easy reach. We are grateful for the kind host, who even gave us tickets to the Highland Games – such a memorable highlight of our trip. We would love to return here again in the future!
This is such a beautiful house. The ocean is just steps away, and the view from the window is breathtaking. We even saw dolphins. Inside, the house is equally beautiful and elegant, very clean, and we enjoyed a cozy fireplace. The host was very welcoming and responded promptly. We will definitely come back.
My family had an amazing stay at this house. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a few treats, which were a lovely surprise. Everyone loved it. The view is incredible. The location was great. Decor was beautiful and welcoming. We very much appreciated the clothes dryer and the binder with all kinds of Skye recommendations. We would 100% stay here again and recommend to everyone!
We loved staying in the Longhouse. The location is just stunning. Beautiful scenery, beaches, castles, mountains. We woke up to deer walking past the window. The house is great. Very comfy and lovely and warm. The beds are very comfy and the shower is good. I would highly recommend staying at the Longhouse.
We really enjoyed our stay for 12 days. Everything you may need was included, it was very comfortable. The wheather was too good to imagine, in fact it was warmer than expected. Unfortunately it was not possible to open the windows/door in the evening because of the midges and there was no insect screen available.
Fairy Glen Cottage is ideally positioned for exploring the Isle of Skye; not far to go to Portree and Dunvegan and in easy walking distance to fairy glen. The cottage is exceptionally well-kept, clean and, like its owner Alex, welcoming. We love it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Wish it could have been longer...
The Mill was a very comfortable and clean place to stay. The property is very good equipped and has a good location to explore the Isle of Skye.
The view from the cottage to Loch Mealt is simply beautiful - and to sit there each morning is such a wonderful way to start your day. The sheep and the young lambs bleating and the bird song is joyous. The walk from the cottage down to Loch Mealt is super and walk a little further and you easily reach Kilt Rock. But to travel further best to have a car - it’s actually easy to access by car. The cottage is very comfortable, bright, spacious and well appointed. It’s the second time I’ve stayed in Loch Mealt View - so think that says a lot. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
We felt very comfortable in Ruadh. We were given such a warm welcome by our landlord that we felt like family. The house was in perfect condition, clean, warm and cozy. We saw deer in the evening and rabbits in front of our house in the morning. We felt like it was our home. Our landlord was very friendly and available at any time. We love this house!
The house was very open and easily accommodated six people. The kitchen was well stocked. We saw deer, watched the lambs play, played games on the large dining room table.
What a lovely house...and location was great...views of the water and so very quiet....but easy to walk down the road to local pub or restaurant. House was really well equipped...would just suggest more hooks in bathroom as not room on towel rail for all the towels and nice to have somewhere near the sink for the hand towel to hang. Also a clothes drying rack would have been v handy. But overall a really gorgeous property.
We had the most wonderful time in this house. The attention to detail is incredible and it really is the most comfortable & luxurious place to stay. Underfloor heating on a frosty Christmas morning was greatly appreciated! The views are spectacular and we sat each morning looking at the Skye change colour behind the Cuillins before we were blinded by the sunrise! The home was impeccably clean and full of extra surprises such as a spice drawer. It had been decorated so tastefully for our arrival with a Christmas wreath; gorgeous trees & thoughtful gifts. The house is huge but cosy at the same t...more
We came as a group of friends and absolutely loved this cottage—for its comfort, its warmth, and its location with breathtaking scenery on the Isle of Skye. We will definitely come back. Thank you!
Having stayed at the house before, we knew that it was in an incredible setting and it once again lived up to the expectations. Beautifully furnished, clean and with a real sense of staying somewhere special.
We have had a wonderful stay at Ard Choille. The property had everything we needed for a week and the sunroom boasted beautiful views which were ever changing due to the weather in Skye.
Finnan's Byre was in the perfect spot for us to enjoy our first visit to Isle of Skye. It is perfectly equipped with electricals and utensils (from TV, ovens, dishwasher, fridge & freezer, cutlery, etc..), everything was working great (best shower, great WIFI) and is nicely decorated and in great condition. We would not hesitate to book Finnan's Byre again. The only thing we could not find was a location specific folder with instructions, e.g. for the end of the visit. But if the owners do not mind, than this is not a negative point from us either.
Lovely cottage in a remote Skye location. The sun room was stunning and there is a well stocked community shop not too far away.
A good place to stay, convenient for Portree but you need to be quite fit for the return hill. Easy chairs / sofa could have been a little more comfortable rather than using "conservatory-type" furniture
Beautiful location with stunning scenery. The house was very well presented and very clean. We very much appreciated the eggs etc. Wish there was a dishwasher, which there was room for. The timer settings on the hot water hot water heating system need adjusting as we had a few cool showers at 7.30am.
We really enjoyed our time in Isle of Skye including our stay at Taigh Mhurdaidh. The cottage was easy to get to had great views and close to great scenic locations and hikes like the Old Man of Storr, Quiraing and others. The location was also very quiet and peaceful.
The cottage was lovely clean and comfortable. Beds were so comfy. Good WiFi connection. Nice to have a wood fire though didn’t use it. Kitchen had everything we needed. Excellent location and magical no matter the weather. Shared clothes washing facilities weren’t ideal but good to have. Only one window down stairs and only bathroom upstairs would open. Nice to have the pub so close but we didn’t enjoy our experience. Waited over an hour for our meals and seemed like they’d over booked, lots of excuses seemed to be explained to customers. No time to light our candle and didn’t do coffees as “i...more
What a wonderful cottage for my spouse and I to spend 5 nights and be able to enjoy all the bounties of Skye! The owners have thought of everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. The view from the sitting room window might cause you to never leave your seat, but DO leave it! Whether on foot or by car, there are things to do all around the cottage and you can return to your cozy, wee house to rest and rejuvenate until your next sojourn!
j'espère revenir un jour la maison. est bien située. avec une belle vue sur les montagnes et l'ile de skye
I took my son up for his first trip to Skye and the house was fantastic. Spacious, clean, and full of home comforts. Not to mention the views. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Skye and am hoping to come again next year.
Everything was as described and more. We had a week of changeable weather but having a cosy place to come back to at the end of the day out was perfect.
Very cozy cottage with a lot of space. We had a wonderful time. The welcome package in the kitchen and for the bathroom was very nice. Some hot water bottles for us ladies would be nice…
We spent a wonderful week of family vacation on the Isle of Skye, and one of the main reasons why every single one of us loved it so much was the amazing Ploughman’s Cottage. This is a truly perfect place for a holiday: the house is huge, with more than enough space for five people – it actually takes some time to walk from the "south-west wing" to the "north-east wing" :-))) The facilities are excellent, everything is there and perfectly arranged. The oven is a dream if you enjoy cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner as we do. All the beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast corner was th...more
Tigh Anndra is a beautifully equipped cottage for a couple. We have been twice and just love the wilderness of the cottage, just sweeping views of the mountains. It is a special place for us, watching the swallows fly and the sheep come and go across from the moor. There is a handy bus service that can get you to Portree and Uig. We liked the lack of wifi. It gave us time to truly disconnect. Thank you Angus for our stay.
We had a wonderful holiday in this cottage and on Skye! We felt very comfortable in this cozy and warm place and enjoyed the stunning view each day (seals were dancing ballet right next to the shore). Due to storm we couldn't leave the island as planned, but IHC/Lisa and David helped out immediately so that we could stay a an additional night. THX - we recommend this one! Felix

This was a perfect place to stay when visiting the Isle of Skye. The location is central, very close to Portree for shopping and restaurants, and all of Skye’s attractions are easily reached by car. The accommodations and amenities were excellent, especially the glorious deep tub and rainfall shower after a long day of hiking! There were thoughtful touches throughout, such as a collection of games upstairs, and the binoculars beside the chair in the living room, perfect for taking in the amazing views. My only complaint would be that the bed was not a king as advertised - I think it was a quee...more
Tidal cottage is a lovely place to stay for a few days, very peaceful. We saw otters in front of the cottage on a nightly basis.
Second stay here, glad to return. House is clean and has everything. Kind host. Would highly recommend.
The house was in a stunning location. It was clean. However, the washing machine was not working. Could do with oven gloves and tea towels! Some new chopping boards and wooden spoons, as they were in poor condition.
Lovely home, beautiful setting. Throughly enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely come back. Only thing missing was a loo downstairs.
Excellent and wellappointed property for a large group of people. We loved it and, for the third year running, had a most enjoyable time, returning home rested and refreshed. We especially appreciated the book of guest information. The refresh of the property was also most welcome.
The property was as described. It was very clean and had loads of space. Superb views from first floor to Knock Castle and the beach. Great location for both the ferry and the bridge. Beds were very comfy and the house felt cosy when we had to hunker down against the wind and rain. Kitchen was well kitted out with plenty of mugs, glasses and crockery.
Great for a family holiday to relax with beautiful views. Property could do with a little TLC i.e; water staines on ceilings, shower leaks, window sills with dead midge’s, some pans and placemats could do with replacing/disposing. This was a return visit after 3 years as we loved the property, but unfortunately simple fixes have been left undone which let it down, everything was perfect last time.
The rental company was communicative and sent information in a timely manner. This is a nice home and we enjoyed our stay…however, the cleanliness was not as I would have expected. The en suite bath had mold growing in the sink and the shower. I was surprised to be expected to pull the linens from the bed…we always leave towels in the laundry and clean up after a stay but never experienced needing to unmake the beds. I will recommend this home but hope this information will help for future rentals.
Check-in was smooth. Communication with the rental company was easy and quick. The apartment is nice and clean and serves as a good base for excursions. The kitchen is quite sparsely equipped, and the heaters are rather loud because there's a lot of air in the system. As a result, they are not very efficient in heating. The beds are very comfortable. We had a good time in the accommodation. We especially loved the loggia due to the beautiful view.
Not easy to find after leaving the main road; directions could be improved. Steep path and steps down to cottage, not suitable for infants or the infirm. One storage heater switch not working, Velux blind in bedroom faulty. Leak under lavatory cistern. A few items could usefully be added to the kitchen. Dead insects inside one duvet cover. But: clean inside, warm, good views. I imagine tenants do not report faults so they are not rectified.
We had a wonderful stay at Sorley’s house, spotlessly clean with gorgeous views in the perfect location for us (away from the main busy areas but close enough by car to everything we wanted to see/do). We had everything we needed for our long weekend, including all the tools and utensils in the kitchen required for some simple home cooked meals. Appreciated that it was dog friendly! The only thing that we didn’t have but would have been great was a wee fan in the bedroom as we were lucky enough to have nice warm weather so if anyone planning to visit feels the heat it might be worth packing ...more
The location of the property is excellent for exploring the Isle of Skye however there are a few things that need to be improved with the accomodation. Firstly with a storm forecast at temperatures of 5c outside I would've expected at least one of the heaters to be on but they were all off and all window vents were open, not a warm welcome. The TV is very dated and the DVD player didn't work. For our 9 and 10 year old it meant there was nothing suitable for them to watch. On the stormy days that would've been good and they both wake early so it would've been useful then too. Small th...more
This is a lovely house in a great location, just a short walk from the town centre of Portree and accessible to everything. The house is super clean, very well equipped and spacious enough for a party of five (2 couples plus 1) to relax and feel at home. We especially appreciated the full kitchen and dining area so we could have breakfast at "home" and cook dinner for ourselves if we wanted to, which did. Highly recommended.
We had an excellent time, we are a family of 5 and everyone loved it, kids sighed when we told them there was no TV but they never got bored. We played loads of board games that are provided, and with a vey quiet beach 2 minutes walk away, it was ideal. The cottage has everything we needed and very spacious. Cracking holiday had by us all, and we all agreed we’d love to come back. Thanks very much for the lovely cottage.
What a lovely house to stay in! It is in a beautiful location just a short walk from Staffin Beach, and the house itself was great. it looked small from outside but it was massive, with 4 large double/twin bedrooms. The house was warm and very comfortable with an excellent drying room (which came in handy as we had rain most of the week). The only thing that we couldn't find were oven gloves but we bought some and left them there for the next occupants. We will certainly be booking to go back here
We had the most amazing time! Lots of space for 6 of us (4 adults 2 teens) it was lovely to sit and have a meal together as we have never gotten to before! Lovely and clean, and a few starters bits (tea/,coffee,biscuits...you know the essentials) Easy to use washer/drier. Over and hob worked fine. Perfect for a stay if you want to be closer to main town but out enough to do sight seeing! Thank you so much! Would recommend!
We had everything we needed. The views of the Quiraing were definitely the highlight. It is in a nice location just outside of Staffin. As long as you are aware there is no wi-fi and only a tiny little freezer inside the fridge, the house has everything you need. We were really happy with the property and our stay there. We would definitely stay again.
We had a pleasant stay at Isle of Skye. We liked the location and the house was well cared for, with alot of facilities and comforts. It was also very cozy. We didn't like the very thin curtains (very bright very early in the morning) nor the carpet in the bathroom/toilet due to cleanliness.
Florrie's is a very comfortable holiday home. A lovely bed, a beautiful bathroom, a comfortable sofa, a well-equipped kitchen, a beautiful view over the bay and also a garden. Very cosy!
Arrived in Scottish wheather ;) but were soon greeted by the comfort of this lovely holiday house (and surroundings)! From the email we sent to the renting organization (Islands & Highlands Cottages): "First of all: compliments on this lovely holiday location! The house has been so stylishly decorated and furnitured, we loved it from the first moment we entered. Everything one would need in a week seems to be there and all is so neat and clean! Thanks a lot for that!". The house stands nearly "in the middle of nowhere", with a lot of sheep and rabbits as direct neighbors and a lovely view on t...more
Great location with views, comfortable for large groups with kids and easy access to Isle of Skye - highly recommend

We were so pleased with this home. It is stunning with the views and it is very clean and well layed out. We loved the location where you are within a 30 min drive from all we wanted to see. A BIG HUGE BONUS is the large WASHER and a DRYER in the property! It made washing clothes so easy with us traveling throughout the country. We will definitely choose this place again when we are back in Skye.
We liked Willowbank. It's close to town, has incredible views out the front windows, it's own off street parking, and other than when the music festival was in town, it was super quiet. We would rent it again. Having said that, we did experience some things we didn't care for. Chief among those is the oil fired heater/boiler. Please replace this with an air source heat pump and water tank. The cottage was freezing when we arrived (5-10C). The limited timers for heat and hot water are annoying. Turn on shower, no hot water, trudge to kitchen to +1 the hot water, wait some more, etc etc. I...more
We had a lovely week staying in the cottage. It had everything we needed, including a very useful dryer for when the weather was a bit damp! The enclosed garden was excellent for our energetic dog, with a wonderful view across the water to the next peninsula. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. The location might be a little remote for some people, but we really appreciated the peace and quiet, when the rest of the island was busy with summer visitors. There are good walks from the door, and excellent tea and cake at the Yurt Cafe just down the road. The owner ca...more
Property was in good condition and very well equipped. There was lots of space and a lovely view over Loch Slapin. Beds were comfortable and the house was ideal for what we wanted.
We enjoyed our stay st Bridge Cottage very much. It is located in a calm part of Isle of Skye but at the same time has good connection to the best places of the island. The next big store is situated nearby in Broadford. You can start to hike right behind the cottage. The interior is newly renovated and comfy especially at the fire place. Only the matress I found was not great. The kitchen ist very well equipped with all the utensils you need. But at our stay there were no cooking essentials like oil, salt or pepper. Support offered by Islands and Highlands was quick and helpful. A...more
Lovely relaxing holiday again, everything was as I wanted ~ a little away from Portree but not too distant so still very convenient for socialising and provisions ….. already booked for new year …… thank you all
Easy to find and lovely and warm Beds were basic but comfortable if quilts a little small. Windows at front of property seem to have dropped a little and let a draft in and you can see outside however I reported this to the company dealing with the stay along with a damp wall in the double bed room. The views are spectacular from the house if the red cuillins. Very handy position to explore that area . We enjoyed our stay very much.
The cottage is nice and clean. Everything looks very new. The location is a little bit out of the way, but this is fine if you will be exploring anyway. My slight complaint was that there was no soap products to use the dishwasher or the washing machine. Also, the stove is a relatively new induction, and unfortunately someone bought a new cheap aluminium frying pan which cannot be used on this stove. Little details like these detract from the otherwise great experience.
Very comfy flat, in great location, very close to Staffin beach. It was just what we wanted, next door to Keeper’s Cottage.
Nice location . Loads of space inside with everything you needed . Could do with outside seating , one old flaky bench at the front door , grass overgrown and an old fridge freezer outside not nice to look at. Would have been very piecfull if it weren’t for the 2 dogs constantly barking next door.
The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Clean and well maintained. The location is fantastic, a real home from home
The house is 100 years old at it's oldest part. It could be a charming cottage, as a home or a holiday let, but at the moment it's not good enough to be either. It is lacking a lot of tlc. It's advertised on several sites and we had hoped the owner or marketing company had addressed the negative reviews, but they haven't. We were told that the tatty old furniture was something the owner might return to one day (she lives in Germany) but if she did she'd likely take it back to the charity shop it looks like it came from. It's a shame because it would not take much to return it to It's forme...more
We enjoyed our stay here. The house was well equipped and comfortable. We had no problems. The information from Islands and Highlands Cottages was very useful.
Lochside is a beautiful property in a stunning location, and under normal circumstances it could have been a wonderful stay for our family. Unfortunately, during our visit there was a 10+ hour power outage affecting the whole area. While I understand that the weather event was beyond the owner’s control, there was no emergency backup option (such as alternative heating or cooking provision), and the handling afterwards was disappointing. Despite the inconvenience and our decision to stay on, there was no goodwill gesture offered, only a strict reference to terms and conditions and the SSE r...more
Our intent was to explore Skye - a mix of driving to highlights (like castles, gardens, museums) and hiking. We found the cottage was ideally situated for this: within 45 minutes we could reach all the destinations we had in mind [excluding Sleat] and it was significantly shorter for some of them. The cottage itself is charming, offered space, had all the things we needed (including an oven and kitchen utensils to create something nice) - we have nothing to complain about and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who has similar requirements.
Clean, character property in good position for visiting Dunvegan Castle. For the price we thought the living room and bedroom furniture was a bit of a let down.
