Little Owl Barn (5* Gold ) is accessed at the front garden level and has three double bedrooms, one of which is made up for Little Owl guests (2) all with ensuite facilities. Upstairs is a galleried sitting room with bridge to a study area. The airy modern kitchen/dining room is on the entry level, as is the master bedroom. Built in 1822, Owl Barn retains many original features, but is fully equipped with 21st Century conveniences including wifi, Smart TV, and a fully equipped kitchen.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Kernock Cottages for a long weekend. The cottage was lovely, very well equipped, super-comfortable beds and an amazing huge hot tub with an incredible view across the valley!
This is probably the most dog-friendly place we have stayed in. Our dog received his very own ‘pup cake’ (soo cute), a new toy (which he loved!) and towels & blankets just for him!
There was also a warm water hose for his feet on the front decking, so practical.
Icing on the ‘pup cake’ was the massive ‘Central Bark’ field, with balls, throwers, frisbees & bins, safely fenced off, it even has a love seat facing the valley views for a rest.
And of course Damian, our host, who was so helpful with info & advice and gave us a generous welcome pack which was most appreciated. All the little thoughtful details makes this place a perfect retreat.

Most welcoming, lovely & dog friendly accomodation we have ever stayed in - and we have stayed in a few. Damian & Louise are the perfect hosts - so welcoming from the moment you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble but they are not intrusive either. All the perfect little touches are so lovely too - from the amazing welcome packs for us and then our two dogs aswell - both far exceeded expectation. To then providing chuck sticks & balls strategically at various parts of the lovely walks at Central Bark. We loved being at the cottage relaxing as much as we did venturing out further afield. It is beautifully laid out, so comfortable and so big. The whole of Kernock is so peaceful.

Another fantastic break at Kernock cottages, stayed at little owl this time and it did not disappoint. Beautifully clean, well equipped, welcome pack was amazing for us and for Nelly our dog.
Damian and Louise are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and nothing is too much trouble, thanks again for having us, we hope to return soon. Ally, Rich and Nelly the Schnoodle.

This was our third stay at kernock and over all we found it amazing and found Damian customers service second to done. Welcome packages for humans and dogs our such agreat touch and appreciate especially the prosecco , beds and bedding super comfy bathroom products a lovely touch and kitchen equipment fabulous everything you would need ! So down to the most important part for us dog facilities! Over all fantastic how ever not completely doggie proof if you have over exuberant dogs who are determined to get out no matter what... but once again Damian showed patience and went above and beyond to resolve any issues that may have occurred.

We had a wonderful stay in Owl Barn and would recommend it to anybody looking for a peaceful really dog friendly place to stay. The cottage was immaculate and we really loved the hot tub with a view.
Marley our dog was in heaven at ‘central bark’, which was a lovely and totally secure place to let him run wild. The rest of the grounds were also immaculately kept. Damien our host was so lovely and most welcoming, he made sure we knew all the best places to visit.
It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for and well worth it, highly recommended.

This was our second stay at Kernock Cottages, our previous stay was in Heather Barn. Little Owl was a lovely cottage for just the two of us. We were blessed with great weather so made full use of the hot tub.
Welcome pack was great after a long journey from Yorkshire as was the welcome when we arrived.
Already looking to book for next year.

This was our fourth visit to Kernock Cottages, but our first in Owl Barn. As well as our dog Solo, who we are certain thinks of Central Bark as his happy place, we brought our son along as he had a week off before starting a new job. It was also my wife's birthday the day after we arrived, so it seemed the perfect time and place for a break.
Owl Barn did not disappoint. The layout is just perfect, with bedrooms arranged across two floors so privacy is ensured, and a wonderful mezzanine level for watching television or relaxing in. There is even a glorious reading nook across a bridge from the TV area, which I used daily. The views from there, through a round window that reminded me of childhood, are wonderful, but the best views are to be had from the generous hot tub, enclosed by a secure garden, and reachable from a back door on the lower level. This was an absolute joy at the end of each day, watching the sun set and enjoying a glass or two.
Central Bark is one of the unique selling points for Kernock Cottages. The six-acre fully-enclosed space is fabulous, allowing Solo all the freedom he needs without any worries. The other unique selling point is Damian and Louise, the hosts. They are so good at looking after us, remembering even the smallest details of our previous visits and asking after members of the family they haven't even met. They make you feel like visiting friends rather than paying guests, always happy to stop whatever they are doing and have a chat. They are attentive but never intrusive, and even had a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for Ali to celebrate her birthday. The welcome pack that you receive on arrival is legendary, with amazing food from the local farm shop. Even Solo gets treats and a toy.
If you are looking for a break that has all the wonders of Cornwall on your doorstep, but with everything you need to just stay put if you prefer, you can't do better than Kernock Cottages.

Fantastic welcome pack for both us and our dogs

We had a lovely week in owl barn. Communication from owners great prior to arrival.Lovely welcome packs for us and our 2 dogs, including dog towels and throws. Damian met us on arrival and gave us great recommendations on things to see and do. The barn was well presented, and very comfortable. Everything has been thought of to make for a relaxing week. The views from the garden and hot tub were incredible, and the grounds were great for the dogs, with a large enclosed field (central bark). Highly recommend kernock cottages and we hope to go back soon.

An absolute gem! Everything you need and more for a time out! The welcome pack was really special and anything we needed Damian was there to give advice or assist, especially when our fur baby got stuck and we needed help to get her out! Highly recommend
