From the initial booking until out last day, a perfect stay. We were a group of 5 couples that enjoy spending time together so this was the perfect place. Each bedroom the same quality and size which made it perfect for us all. A perfectly stocked fridge in both houses and that important bottle of milk and wine. Even our four legged friends had a treat. Perfect for our elderly dog, as he was able to access the garden at ground level to the younger ones who were able to explore. Amazing views and great little pockets of sun traps. Lots of information prior to our arrival, and the added t...more
We got engaged at Tree Barn 6 years ago - the owners, Beth and Hugh, even helped my husband set up the proposal! We’ve been back 4 or 5 times since then and needless to say, we really believe it is a special place. Kernock Cottages has evolved over the years. It was pretty luxurious on our first visit, but now each cottage has its own hot tub, plus a fenced off garden for your 4 legged companions. There has also been the addition of central bark. The view over the valley from the hot tub is stunning! Beth and Hugh are meticulous with their hospitality; the beds are so comfortable, the sho...more
I had been looking for a cottage where I could enjoy a few days away with my daughter and two rescued greyhounds. Completely secure area in the garden, beautiful grounds, a lovely dog walking area with benches and paths leading to open fields, and best of all we were offered the use of a large fenced field where my dogs could run full speed. Apart from my dogs, Heather Barn was perfect for my daughter and I. Two ensuite bedro...more
Cottage located on a wonderful setting. Private and tranquil. Great location near to main artery roads. Close to Tamar Bridge and Devon. Beth is very helpful and buys into your experience and goes the extra mile to accommodate you. Cottage is beautiful with fantastic views across a valley. Grounds and garden are well maintained. Lovely jewel that is quiet and surrounded by wildlife. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge are well presented and worthy of a 5 star rating. Hot tub is the icing on top. My wife, dog and I had a wonderful stay.
We stayed at Owl Barn and as soon as we walked through the door it was obvious this immaculate property was not going to disappoint. The attention to detail was apparent with the welcome pack supplied for us and our four legged friend on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and Beth’s knowledge of the area, lead to some amazing days out. These included thrill seeking at Adrenalin Quarry, kayaking at Talland Bay and shopping in Plymouth, all just a short drive away. We had a lovely meal at the local pub, The Weary Friar, which was merely a ten minute walk away The hot tub at Owl Barn was a...more
