Goose Nest House is a stunning five-bedroom lake house sitting on the shore of Somerford Lagoon within the exclusive Lower Mill Estate. A spacious lakeside retreat, it is perfect for families as well as couples and small groups looking to relax by the water. Just a five-minute walk away you have inclusive use of the Lower Mill Spa with two heated pools, an eco-pool, sauna, steam room, gym and spa treatments. The on-site restaurant Ballihoo is also within an easy walk of Goose Nest House. On the Lower Mill Estate you will find tennis courts, swimming pools, bike trails, fishing lakes and a children’s playpark. Hire kayaks, bikes and canoes at the nearby Activity Hub and return home to the serenity of your own lake-view balcony.

We enjoyed staying at Goose nest but unfortunately, as we were in a large party there were other houses booked. Goose nest fell very short in comparison to the other properties.
In summary, for same price, Firecrest (no 75) offered better customer service, space, cleanliness, personalisation and value for money. Our family members booked house 73 clearwater which was far far superior.
The comfort level in Goose nest was poor. It had a dark and stark hallway, was cluttered in the downstairs laundry area and there was very little space in the downstairs ensuite bedroom which meant that navigating between the beds and the wardrobes had to be done sideways.
On the plus side the kitchen was well equipped - however the lack of any welcome pack was disappointing. The benches were cluttered. The furniture on the balconies was very cheap and uncomfortable and offered no place to relax.
Overall I would not rebook and would not recommend this property

The house was lovely, accommodation really worked for us. Oldies at the top- no noise, and kids and parents at the bottom. The house was very well equipped but needs a new tin opener. Sofas rather too firm to be comfy but beds and bathrooms all good and everything working.the bean bags were great, also the toys and games. Kids also appreciated Nintendo. The weather was appalling so we were very glad of the heated outdoor pool and used it a lot. The indoor pool was booked up until too late for our young kids . My husband appreciated the gym.
Considering the weather, we had a good weekend and would definitely consider another stay in the future as the location is central so accessible to various members of our group. We love the modern architecture and the beautiful views of the lake, atmospheric with swirling mist during our stay, but must be gorgeous on a summer's day .

We thoroughly enjoyed Goose Nest House.
Inside was spotlessly clean and very well equipped.
The view is amazing - one of the best locations on the estate we thought!
The only suggestions we’d have are comfier sofas, better access to the lake behind the house through the bulrushes for the paddle boards, and also to clean the balcony and patios. There are lots of cobwebs etc hanging above your head. These outside areas need a good brush down and scrub.
Lastly some of the maps and timetables in the house are out of date which makes finding your way around the estate confusing. See my next point below.

It’s nothing to do with the house or its owners, but the estate itself is very difficult to navigate. Signs are fading and very sparse. It’s hard to find your way around. The swimming pool is lovely but was absolutely rammed full of families and kids due to it being the summer holidays. It was impossible to enjoy time in there which was a real down point and you have to turn up for timed sessions which is a real pain. It’s like the estate has gotten too big for the facilities they provide. They need another pool complex elsewhere on site to spread people about.

The property is located on the lake, east facing with great views of the sunrise. It has everything you need including games, tennis and table tennis equipment, 2 travel cots, lots of kids cutlery etc. all this made for an easy stay.
