I want to thank Nigel and Sheila for their kind hospitality during our stay of several weeks. Welcomed with a homemade Victoria sponge cake, we quickly felt at home at Hilcot Farmhouse. As a family of four with two kids and also two dogs, the property offered us the space and comfort we needed. Well equipped with everything you might need, it very much felt a home away from home. There are walks on your doorstep but only a short drive from local pubs and also Cheltenham. For a Cotswolds Holiday Cottage it offers good value for money especially if you book directly with Bolthole Retreats. Happy to recommend.

We loved staying at Hilcot. The views were beautiful and there are great walks from the farm which we enjoyed. The kitchen had everything I needed, I could even cook a roast dinner. There was lots of space in the house and all the rooms were spacious and cosy. The house was really close to popular tourist areas but could still enjoy the peaceful setting of the house. We arrived to a delicious homemade cake which went down a treat. The hosts were very friendly and helpful!

What a lovely place to stay! We would love to come back and stay again in the future. Sheila was a lovely hostess, leaving everything we needed for our vacation, including a homemade Victoria Sponge! <3

All of the amenities in the farmhouse were perfect, and the separate bathrooms allowed my husband and myself to spread out out own toiletries and personal items without being on top of each other like we would have otherwise been doing in a hotel. We completely enjoyed everything about the location, and the beauty of the farmhouse and the surrounding Cotswolds countryside was the perfect antidote after a couple of hectic days in London proper.

The weather was beautiful during our stay, which added to the charm of the farmhouse. It was a beautiful setting, and we enjoyed spending time out in the garden, watching the horses and the birds, and enjoying a cup of tea whenever we wanted one.

Sheila's recommendation of nearby Dunkertons for a night out was also a splendid choice - so many food choices, great wines, an excellent location, and just a great way to relax after wandering around the Cotswolds all day long.

Castle Barn (Hilcot Farm) provided a great base from which to visit surrounding areas and was itself a lovely place to spend time enjoying the beautiful views.
Sheila was a fantastic and attentive host.Right down to the delicious freshly baked cake awaiting us on arrival!
The amenities had everything we needed and it was great having the two full bathrooms (aswell as downstairs toilet) as we were two families holidaying together.
The outside patio/bbq area was great to sit out in and enjoy the peace.
We highly recommend and hope to visit again.

We absolutely loved our weekend away at this property it was in a beautiful location, rural yet only a 20 minute car ride Into Cheltenham. On arrival we were welcomed with a lovely homemade cake and the fridge had fresh farm eggs in as well as milk and butter. We bumped into Nigel the owner whilst we were out enjoying a lovey morning walk and we were lucky enough to say hello to his cows which we all loved!! We will Definitely be returning!!
