It was the architecture of Rajasthani India that inspired the design of Pineapple Spa Cottage – a Grade II listed hideaway complete with a natural spring that was modelled into a small spa by 19th century architect, Samuel Pepys Cockerell. Marrying Georgian elegance with Eastern influences, the intricacy of the exterior ranges from delicate scalloped windows to golden fir finials and pineapple motifs while the architectural romance continues inside thanks to regal high ceilings and stone-carvings. Just outside the sleepy village of Lower Swell, it’s just moments away from the butter-hued streets of Stow-on-the-Wold.
