Tucked away on a picturesque family farm, The Old Calf Pens is a countryside retreat set between Cheltenham and Bourton-on-the-Water. Full of character and eclectic features, this lovingly converted barn retains its original beauty creating a wonderfully unique bolthole. Beamed high ceilings, a wood burning stove, original barn doors and spectacular garden views add a whimsical romance. It is also perfect for families staying as there are two bedrooms, one at either end of the spacious open plan living area. Children will particularly love visiting the farm animals! While you are secluded in glorious countryside you are just a short drive from Cotswold hot spots including Stow-on-the-Wold, the festivals of Cheltenham and picture-perfect Bourton-on-the-Water.

An idyllic spot in the middle of the Cotswolds

We had a wonderful family weekend get-together at The Old Calf Pens. Clive and Lydia are very friendly welcoming hosts and were helpful with suggestions on what to see and do locally. The accommodation was ideal for our needs with a new baby on board and was very clean and comfortable. The setting was just so idyllic on a peaceful working farm in a picturesque location yet within easy reach of all the Cotswolds hotspots.Best of all was being able to walk straight from the door. We can definitely recommend a stay at The Old Calf Pens!

A wonderful place to stay in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. The house was a fantastic size for our family, has a beautiful country feel and is equipped with everything you need (the fireplace is a very cool bonus). Plus it’s on a working farm - the kids absolutely loved helping out with the lambs and chickens and donkeys, and we loved the food from the farm shop. Thank you Lydia and Clive for such an engaging experience.

We had such a wonderful stay on the farm. Lydia and Clive were so welcoming and helpful, the property was beautifully done and extremely comfortable. The setting was a idyllic and peaceful.

Two weeks later we are still telling people about it.

My highlight was being able to buy things from the farm shop - all of which had been grown on the farm (n.b. it's only open at certain times).

We are very much looking forward to our next visit to the Calf Pens.

We spent 4 nights at The Calf Pens and enjoyed it immensely.
We loved the location and its cozy feel.
The owners were extremely welcoming and assisted us during our stay and the animals and farm shop were a bonus. The welcome pack was very much appreciated.
It is ideally located for getting out and about or. walking in the local area along the Gloucestershire Way.
We would happily return.
