Explore the creative side of the Cotswolds from this Painswick family home. Opening to the most impressive views across the valley, Whitehall Cottage is brimming with space and the opportunity to spend time together. Once two wool workers’ cottages the house brings the comfort of modern living to these period properties. Set over three floors you can spot original features in the beamed ceilings and fireplaces. With an open plan kitchen/diner, wonderful sun room, comfortable sitting room and four bedrooms it is yours to make your own. Sitting in the centre of the town you are a stone’s throw from The Painswick for dinner and drinks, walking distance of the renowned Rococo Gardens and just a short drive from bustling Stroud this is the cultural hub of the Cotswolds.

A lovely stay!

The cottage is in a gorgeous village, and in a lovely setting.
It was well laid out and perfect for our two families to enjoy time together. 4 adults, two 5 year olds and two 2 year olds. We had to watch the kids in the rooms with the hearths being stone and things but it was a lovely house. We appreciated the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs to stop them going up on their own. The kitchen had just about everything you needed!! (Just a few more large tumbler glasses and a colander would be useful additions).

We finally found the microwave in the top part of the oven!

The village boasts a lovely coffee shop called Juniper - well worth a visit! The local Premier shop - avoid it! Awful!

We were told to park in stamages road car park but unsure if we will get any fines for being there over the 23 hours - hoping not!

The only tiny niggle was that there was no window covering for the skylight in the top floor bedroom, and that the curtains in the twin bedroom on 1st floor did not meet in the middle so had to hang a blanket up and tape paper to the skylight window. Not ideal with children especially.

Would highly recommend though - the beds were also incredibly comfy!

Whitehall Cottages is in a superb location with easy access parking. Fantastic views from all the bedrooms and from the patio terrace. Lots of space with a choice of living areas and superbly equipped kitchen and utility. Plenty of bathrooms, including a surprise one! The only thing that would improve the experience is more thorough cleaning and some attention to the garden. Thank you for a lovely long weekend.

We booked this accommodation while walking the Cotswold Way. Downstairs space was good and we were able to combine a couple of tables to sit 8 of us together. Upstairs all rooms had views out the back. A little more furniture in the main bedroom would be good.

We had a couple of issues but these were responded to and satisfactorily resolved within a couple of days.
