Honeybee Villa is a lovely homely villa in wonderful position - just 10 short mins walk into town, fabulous view over the harbour and out to sea and good size for our family of 5 adults. Just many elements of the house that are bit tired/not working - not enough to ruin a holiday but at these prices I would expect these things to be better. 1)Master bedroom shower leaks when you use it and water spills out around the toilet so wet fee when on toilet - not pleasant! 2)Ants a real problem in the kitchen and we hardly did any cooking = they were there when we arrived! Welcome water cooler was much appreciated but more than one roll of toilet paper would also have been good - not ideal when we all needed it on Day 2 and none left! 3) Both lighters for candles had no gas in them so no-one had bothered to check they are working before next guest arrives. No spare tealight candles anywhere. 4) Knives in kitchen could all do with a sharpen. 5) Tumble dryer could do with some better explanations as it never worked properly for us - kept stopping which was annoying when drying sheets after an upset tummy incident! 6) Final issue is the Toilet situation -which is probably a Kalkan issue but it was a spoiler - Having to empty our toilet bins daily was not a pleasant thing and some more bags to make this OK would have been appreciated.

Thank you for providing your feedback on your recent stay at Villa Honeybee. Had you brought the maintenance issues you’ve listed to ours or the villa’s management team’s attention, they would have tried their best to resolve them for you during your stay. We have however, made the owner aware of them and he will ensure that they’re dealt with immediately. Unfortunately, the issue you’ve mentioned regarding the disposal of loo paper (ie – it cannot be flushed down the toilet and has to be disposed of in the bathroom bins supplied) is a Kalkan-wide issue. Small bore pipes are used throughout the town and paper will block the drains very quickly if it's flushed down the toilet. This is mentioned in the pre-arrival info we send all our guests. Also mentioned within the pre-arrival info is an explanation on how Turkish toilets are each fitted with a ‘bidet’ tap which, without going into too much detail, means loo paper is just used for ‘drying’ purposes (therefore, using the bins for disposal isn’t perhaps as unhygienic as you’d imagine). Whilst on this subject, it’s pretty standard in any self-catering property for one loo roll in each bathroom to be provided on arrival. That said, we value your feedback as it helps us to improve standards in each of our properties and the services we provide, so we thank you for bringing these matters to our attention and are very glad that none of the issues mentioned appeared to mar the overall enjoyment of your stay.
