Findhorn was well equipped, bar no tea towels , in an excellent location & we all enjoyed our stay . The drive entrance was very tight & could do with widening. The notes in the apartment highlighted this and we parked over the road after the first day. Loved the area and definitely worth a visit

I can't recommend Andy and Laura's place enough. Findhorn is in the most wonderful location, just over the road from a stunning loch in the gorgeous village of Kames. The scenery from the front windows in the lounge and front bedrooms is breathtaking. When you wake up in the morning it is hard to tear yourself away from the bed because you get lost staring at the view. If you want to relax and take yourself away from the world then THIS is the place for you.
In terms of the space, they have thought of everything. The beds are all so warm and comfortable, we all slept wonderfully when we were there. The lounge is a great space for sitting looking out at the view reading a book or playing board games. The kitchen is really well stocked with everything you could need and a nice coffee machine with plenty of pods provided. The outside space is also lovely and if you walk up to the back of the garden and go through the gate there is a lovely loop walk that takes you across the golf course, via more WONDERFUL views then down into the village. If you have kayaks or paddle boards and a fishing line I would recommend bringing them all and taking them into the Kyles of Bute opposite the property. We caught mackerel easily and kayaking is such a relaxing lovely way to look out at the scenery and if you are lucky you'll catch Mr Seal popping his head up!
The village of Kames is a really lovely welcoming place, if you walk just 10 minutes up the road you will find the Kames Hotel, a welcoming friendly pub with great pub grub, drinks and lovely people. Lovely beer garden at the front as well. There is a restaurant called Tide and Thyme which is just under a mile away from the property, we never ate in but we got a takeaway which was lovely. Tignabruich is a bit further down the road with more pubs and restaurants and we ate in the new Indian, Fyne Raja which I would also thoroughly recommend - delicious! A short drive to Portavadie Marina and you can go on a boat trip, use the spa or get a ferry over to pictureseque Tarbert.
Simply the perfect place, you will come away feeling refreshed, revived and peaceful. Thank you so much for letting us stay!

Loved Upper Findhorn, amazing views, great location, lovely apartment highly recommended. Walking distance to local hotels/bar, we sat at night and enjoyed the view with a local seal making daily appearance. Must visit Carry Farm Shore walk and Ostley Bay stop at the Bothy for a bite.

This is a lovely flat and with some small changes could be perfect. The living room, kitchen, master bedrooms were beautiful. There were a few issues though in contrast:
1. Smaller double bedroom I was not convinced the sheets were freshly laundered. I washed all bedding the next day relieved it was a dry day.
2. No crisp 100% cotton bedding instead bobbled, cheap. Give your guests hotel standard. Believe me it’s noticed.
3. We had to rush out to buy loo roll. 1 roll for a family of 4 was not sufficient.
4. The sofas definitely need more cushions for comfort.
5. Would have been nice to have shower gel.
6. Impossible to wash in the bathroom sink. Think it’s the smallest ever!
7. Badly needs a bathroom cabinet for toiletries.
This is an honest review of what is a beautiful light filled flat, with stunning views, but the small things do matter.

Owner replied more than 1 year ago
We are sorry that you felt the bedding was not freshly laundered. We take pride in ensuring the apartment is cleaned thoroughly and that includes fitting freshly laundered bedroom sheets close to when the next occupants are checking in.
The bedding is fairly new and not poor quality so this is a surprise to hear.
We usually keep spare toilet roll in the small cupboard, by the toilet. Apologies if this wasn’t the case.
We do provide sofa cushions for the leather sofas, apologies if this wasn’t to your satisfaction and comfort.
We have utilised the shower room for space. We feel the electric shower and sink opposite is adequate for washing. There is a cabinet beneath the bathroom sink for toiletries.
As this a self-catering holiday let, we do not provide any toiletries.
Thanks, for your feedback and apologies for any inconvenience.

A well equipped apartment for two of us to stay - as shown in the photographs on the site. The highlight was sitting in the chairs in the window seat.
Good communication from the owners about getting into the property and ideas of walks etc.
I think if the beds were full (it can sleep 5) the small bathroom and fitting around the kitchen table might have been an issue but for the two of us it was great.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Findhorn Upper Apartment, and I can confidently say that it was a delightful experience. From start to finish, my time there was marked by comfort, tranquility, and a sense of ease.
The living area was spacious and thoughtfully arranged, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful area. The view from the front window was a pleasure to behold with my morning cuppa and a slice of toast!
The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.
The peacefulness of the Findhorn Upper Apartment cannot be overstated. Located in a quiet location with pub a 20 minute walk away. It was the perfect setting for a peaceful getaway, allowing me to fully recharge and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
What truly impressed me was how well-equipped the apartment was. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare meals, and the modern appliances made cooking a breeze.
Overall, my stay at the Findhorn Upper Apartment was thoroughly enjoyable. It provided all the comforts of home in a peaceful and picturesque setting. Whether you're looking for a relaxing retreat or a base for exploring the area, I highly recommend this apartment for its comfort, tranquility, and excellent amenities. It truly made my visit a memorable and enjoyable one.

I rented Findhorn Upper Apartment for a week for some much needed time out. The contact from Argyll Holidays and the owners direct was timely and helpful. The apartment was perfectly situated and i could sit in that bay window all day. The bed was exceptionally comfy and the kitchen well stocked. I'm already working out when we can come back as a family! A brilliant find in a great location!

Lovely apartment freshly decorated with fabulous view. Very comfortable sitting room with an efficient heating system.
However, the second double bedroom is tight on space and the shower room sink is tiny.
The kitchen does not have a chopping/breadboard which had been mentioned before but still not supplied.

Gorgeous views onto the water from a lovely large lounge. Great equipped kitchen for easy entertainment.
Brilliant location with great food serving hotel within walking distance.
The only negatives were the shower room was constantly wet due to a gap at the bottom of the shower door.
Also the second double bedroom was very small and impractical for 2 adults to sleep comfortably, however, the single room was there and was useful.
I must say that the above did not in any way spoil our holiday, but worth mentioning in case any larger people were wanting to stay .
The information provided was great and the owners were very helpful and clearly have spent a lot of time and love on the property.

I really cannot say enough good things about this beautiful apartment. Firstly, it is in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. We discovered Argyll and Bute last year and were absolutely blown away by its beauty and swore to go back and when we saw Findhorn we were really excited to return. The first thing that strikes you is the location. You are right on the water on the Kyles of Bute and the apartment has its own private pebble beach. The view from the living room window is breathtaking and you could just spend hours sitting looking at the view. The apartment itself is very clean and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything - wonderfully comfy beds with squashy pillows and fluffy duvets, a really well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor....it feels really homely and welcoming. We loved the property so much we spent a lot of time around it walking, kayaking, running so we didn't really venture out that far. The Kames Hotel is down the road and a lovely place for a drink and Tighnabruich is also only 2 miles away and a lovely walk with lots more bars and restaurants if you are looking to eat out. I would thoroughly recommend the apartment to anyone in a heartbeat.
