Very well looked after and furnished cabin. Plenty of additional items like loose tea strainer. Good supply of wood with extra of needed.
Eriska is in a great location by the Crinan Canal with views across to the locks and hills opposire. The cottage itself was bright and comfortable, it was well equipped with lots of home comforts. Great wee garden and is close to the local hotel, which is a bonus. Highly recommend!
A wonderful relaxed week in a stunning setting. Musselshell Lodge was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The living areas, the deck and the main double bedroom has sea views, so lovely to wake up to the views. An ideal location to explore the region or to just chill out. We loved the peaceful location, beach-combing and the nearby walks. We had a delicious lunch at the famous Inver restaurant in Strathlachlan, (30 mins away from lodge) the food was delicious and of a high standard – pre-booking is a must. The nearest store is 30 minutes away so make sure you stock up well. There i...more
Lovely well kept cottage, beautiful view, very relaxing. Would recommend. Everything there too make your holiday memorable.
We were very impressed with the level of accomodation, service and assistance provided in managing the booking. Absalutely perfect.
My husband has been working very hard, and we were both in need of a break. Nursery Cottage provided us with peace and tranquillity, not forgetting the amazing views-which were splendid from every angle. The cottage itself, was very well organised, and provided a safe and very clean place to escape to. Jo Barnes, was more then helpful, her information of where to go was most helpful. Her people skills were fantastic. She also provided me with enormous help, when I thought I had left a wallet behind in the cottage! I would totally recommend Nursery Cottage. It also catered well for our ...more
Amazing place to stay! When you go on holiday and find the perfect accommodation in a beautiful location. Nothing not to like.
Great holiday in a well appointed property. Perfect for my elderly parents and all the better for the great weather this year, though the Tighnabruaich midges were gnawing through the windows to get at us some days - brought back memories from past summers and all us weans being dumped into a bath with Detol, after feeding the Kyles’ midges. This was our second stay at this property and hope it is only the second of many! Find Iain and the staff at Argyll more than helpful whenever I contact them. Can’t praise them enough.
This was our 2nd visit to this wonderful bungalow. It was a last minute booking to celebrate my husbands 60th. My 22yr old son & his girlfriend joined us, fast WiFi being the highlight for them!! We love the area, the bungalow has everything you need. We have already booked to come again in October, with our 90yr old mum (she loved it last year & wanted to come again) We will definitely come again next year too
A warm welcome awaits guests to this lovely accommodation. Lovely views, easy walk into Dunoon to access shops, eating places etc. Enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend..
As always the flat and its facilities were excellent . I have been staying at this flat for a number of weeks over a number of years and intend to continue to do so. Anne Macdonald
Lovely cottage very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. John and Victoria very friendly and helpful. Holiday was very peaceful only sheep to lull you to sleep.
Great home with wonderful views on the loch, particularly from the upstairs seating arrangement and balcony. A spacious kitchen and large dinning area was ideal for family. There are a couple of pubs about 200 minutes walk away, but remember to take a torch as there is no street lighting for the majority of the pavement. Only slight negative is the pool table was on the slope with small holes in the cloth and just one cue which didn't have a tip.
Everything about this apartment was perfect. Fabulous views and so peaceful. Had requested single beds in back room and it was made as a double but called up and this was sorted quickly. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here
We had a fantastic fortnight with great weather. Lovely house in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend
A relaxing break in a home from home. Just what was needed in these times. Cottage had everything needed and more. Spotlessly clean. Good quality fittings throughout. Fabulous views from all front windows. Maybe some garden furniture for eating out? Fabulous. Would definitely recommend and return.
This was our 7th stay at The Waterside and as always it didn't disappoint us in anyway. Bruce was an amazing host and communication was brilliant. We should have been a group of 8 but ended up with only 2 of us due to restrictions. A quiet and relaxing week which was just what we needed and The Waterside allows you to unwind perfectly. The most amazing views which are as good as watching any television from all of the living area windows, as well as the bedrooms. Many, many thanks for a wonderful time....we have already booked the same week for next year!
On arrival , we were wowed at how clean the house was . Location is just off the main road , if you have bicycles take them , as it was so much fun exploring the roads around the location , easy access about 20 min walk to beach , or a 10 min cycle . Very peaceful area , a lovely cafe in Benderloch which is also a 15 min cycle , with access to Tralee Bay which is a lovely pebble beach . We had no problems while staying at Creran Reef . Very comfortable spacious house .
Fantastic location, beautiful views. Excellent accommodation. Thank you Eileen and to Ian at Argyll self catering holidays.
We had a lovely stay in Achranich. The property had everything we needed, was clean, checking in was extremely easy, which is ideal when you have children. The kitchen and facilities were excellent and we really felt we got good value. The property is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and just a short drive away from the Lochaline ferry to the Isle of Mull, which meant it was easy to have days out. Overall, very impressed, would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family!
We loved our stay at ingleneuk. The location is perfect, right next to the shore and close to the pub and shop, and not far from dunoon. The views from the flat are stunning and it was very peaceful being woken by the oystercatchers and the waves lapping. The flat is very comfortable and comes with everything you might need. We were very impressed that the owners had thought of everything, and the welcome pack was a lovely addition. We would love to stay again!
We had a superb stay at Shelbourne Lodge. It was well-appointed and just the right size and facility-wise (bathrooms, dining room, lounge, kitchen) to accommodate a family of 8. The location on the canal was lovely. Loved the fact that it was an older building with a history - even an album of old photos to prove it. Lovely private garden - and some of the best pillows encountered on my travels.
The cottage was lovely. Quaint and quirky but still very comfortable with a modern convenient kitchen to cook and eat in and comfy beds. Very rural and secluded setting but still within walking distance of the pub and restaurant. It felt like stepping back in time to a simpler life, surrounded by countryside, beautiful trees and sheep with lots to do nearby.
I’d highly recommend the lodge for a peaceful break. Take bikes if you have them as surrounding roads and path through the estate is perfect for cycling.
We felt very safe as everything had been deep cleaned prior to our arrival. We were really impressed that disinfectant had been left for our use, the owners were in touch with us informing us of road closures which was helpful. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last
We have been spoilt on our recent stay in beautiful Inveraray. The warm weather allowed us to enjoy the evening views over Loch Fyne and even dips in the loch (it's quite shallow outside the property). As others have mentioned, the house is straight onto the A83 but it is not a constant stream of traffic and, if you are a light sleeper, the road cannot be heard from the back bedroom. Super provisions in the kitchen and very useful to have a washing machine as we'd already been away for ten days prior to this stay. Highly recommended a visit to Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Fyne Ales Tap and Brewery an...more
We were looking for a cosy cottage with a good garden for the kids and dog and great local walks. With Cedar cottage that’s exactly what we got! The garden is amazing the kids played for hours. The cottage was lovely and comfortable. Lovely touches like wine and biscuits left by hosts. If staying here Pucks Glen is a must, lovely very scenic walk up a gorge with the most beautiful waterfalls. Local service stations is amazing, very well stocked with everything you could need, even a good selection of kids toys and activities. Botanic gardens are gorgeous and within walking distance too. We wer...more
Rosemount Loft is very close to the Western Ferries Terminal. Easily walkable although we had a car and parking at the property was ideal. Instructions given to access the property were clear. The accommodation is stylish and quirky and well set up for a relaxing break. Everything is there that you would need. The flat is very comfortable with a wonderful outlook onto the Clyde from the tower room and thoughtfully, an excellent pair of binoculars are there to watch life on the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend.
Good value for money. Excellent location. Would be good to have better selection of smaller bowls for serving etc in the kitchen but overall very good.
Beautiful cottage and location. It is a lovely place to stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
Absolutely amazing loved it and the owners are wonderful we went as a family and enjoyed the cottage the garden was fantastic and we enjoyed port a vardie spa which was only 10 minutes in the car we all want to come back next year or before which tells you everything you need to know
My wife and I needed accommodation at short notice and the owner was very flexible about when we could check in and check out. Located very close to Hunters Quay ferry terminal it has an excellent location and good river views from the front garden. Good space.
Myself, my wife and our 5 year old daughter stayed for the week. Would highly recommend. Great space inside the lodge and very close to Dunoon and the holiday village activities. Will definitely be staying again.
The cottage wasn't straightforward to find as it is not actually on the main road but up a long path between 2 houses. Being fit & able the frequent journeys to & fro initially with luggage, bikes & food were not a problem but if my elderly Mum had been with us this would have been a problem. There is no room on the street to safely park & although there is a public car park within reasonable distance (again if you're fit & able) I prefer to be able to see my car from a window or driveway especially as we had an expensive bike rack on. That aside the cottage was very clean & well equipped & h...more
Very pleasant front garden area but unfortunately there is no indication from the photos and description about the close proximity of the properties behind Letters Lodge North. Strange to find personal items of clothing and footwear in the hanging area of the dining room. A very random selection of crockery/cutlery/glasses/cooking utensils and pans. No kitchen cleaner or washing up liquid provided. Strange and annoying intermittent banging noises from the locked owners cupboard in the third bedroom/upstairs living room.
What a beautiful spot. The cottage had everything we needed and was a great base to explore this stunning part of the world.
A great break in a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. This was our second stay here, postponed from spring, and it was well worth the wait.
Stayed here for 4 nights. It was really nice to see the red squirrels. The lodge was nice and cosy with plenty of room. The location is nice close to benmore gardens. Enjoyed getting away to the countryside for a few days.
Beautiful cottage. Clean and fully equipped. Had everything we needed. Located in the town and a short walk from local amenities. Good base to explore Argyll.
The lodge is comfortable and is in a great location. It has easy access to many woodland walks and is about 100yds from the Whistlefield Hotel. The surrounding area is very quiet, ideal for a break away from it all
The apartment is part of a new build near the waterfront, and also close to the shopping streets. It was warm and comfortable, with plenty of facilities and equipment.
Lovely friendly couple made us very welcome, lovely spacious apartment, with a beautiful garden through the back. Everything in the apartment that you need. Donald and Diana are a lovely helpful couple. Most enjoyable stay.
Very comfortable cottage with good facilities. We used it as a base to explore this truly stunning area, we travelled to Bute, Arran and up as far as Oban and were blessed with some beautiful weather. If you weren.t as lucky as us with the weather then the cottage provides a big screen tv with netflix included, but personally i would be content just to look at the view from the front window. The only negative point i would raise is if you are taking dog/s the garden isn't enclosed and the road at the front can be quite busy. If we were returning to this area i wouldn't hesitate to book this...more
Great place to stay in a great location: away from it all but not too far. Had a very enjoyable few days in the lochs. Good facilities at the property, well stocked and great views.
Stunning location and well appointed home from home, will definitely come back to such a beautiful home and location
Fantastic location peacefull right on the shoreline definatly a get baway from it all holiday had everything you needed would definatly be back and would recomend to anybody
Teal Cottage is a pretty, very comfortable cottage with beautiful views of the loch and hills right from the lounge and kitchen windows. A great base for exploring Cowal, Kintyre and the surrounding areas with a whole variety of walks including coastal, mountains and glens. We had a wonderful stay here and received a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts. Highly recommended.
We had an excellent stay at this property which has everything you need (well appointed kitchen, modern bathroom, comfortable beds, great location).
Lovely, comfortable flat on 1st floor. Great views from the lounge window. There are 16 or so fairly, steep narrow steps to the front door. The heating was not on when we arrived. Took a short while to work out that the electric switch next to the boiler was not on. Think we were the first to stay after the lockdown. Overall a great place to stay.
Despite not so great weather, we had a wonderful stay at Trevenek. It is a beautiful, very well appointed and sparklingly clean cottage, tucked away in Slockavulin yet close to all of the places we wanted to visit. It was fantastic to have cosy evenings with the log burner on after a day exploring in the rain. Highly recommend - we’ll be back.
I really enjoyed my stay here. It had so much room, even bigger than it looks in the pictures. The back garden is really nice to enjoy the sun. The kitchen is great and it has a separate room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. It has everything you need for a short or long self catering break. I would definitely like to stay here again sometime.
Nice comfortable cottage lovely views very peaceful location nice welcome pack good communication before we got there all Covid covered would recommend to anyone ale home very relaxed
Enmore house was spotless large bright living spaces with all mod cons. The hosts couldn’t be more helpful. Based directly in front of the beach with great views and massive safe garden for the kids. Great value for money. Highly recommend!
We booked the lodge before lockdown ended and we were assured that if descriptions meant we couldn’t go we didn’t need to worry which was very reassuring. We drove up to the lodge and didn’t stop smiling for the rest of the week. It was well presented, clean and comfortable. The kids picked their rooms and we unpacked. Straight away we noticed the finches and red squirrels right outside the lounge window.... I personally had never seen a red squirrel before! We set out to pucks glen which is literally on the doorstep, we had a little walk around there was a diversion in place however it was st...more
Fabulous spacious villa. Beautiful location/views. Super decking area with delightful hot tub. Couldn't have asked for anything more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a wonderful stay at Rhoda's Cottage. The cottage is located on an estate and is attached to the main family home, which has a beautiful outlook onto Loch Fyne. The cottage is close to the Benmore Botanic Gardens, Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Loch Fyne Brewary Courtyard and beautiful walks in nearby Glenbranter and Pucks Glen - great for doggies. Inside it has a good sized kitchen with modern appliances. The bed was incredibly comfy, the shower good and the linen and towels were great. The estate is owned by the author Sir Charles MacLean and there are several of his books available to read, a ...more
The house is in a perfect location with wonderful views. It's really comfortable, well equipped and warm. We have had a lovely stay here and would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area.
This place was lovely spacious dinning living area and comfy beds .. quiet area and about 15 /20 min walk to the town the Lorne was really nice for good and the clams Nan pub was do friendly the staff were do nice
Spent a lovely week at Deercroft with the dog...and the lodge was just what we needed...great location for exploring the Cowal peninsula...waking up too views of the sea every day was terrific... saw deers and red squirrels on the lodge site too which was pure joy...managed to get some cracking photos of the wildlife...the lodge has all the essentials needed for a pleasant say...may have been taken out because of Covid safety requirements but just a suggestion it would have been great if this visitors info book had more information leaflets, guide books etc about the local and surrounding area...more
We booked for 1 week at this cottage in Strone, good weather and location made for a great break. A few gremlins with the booking after payment, only impacts those with Gmail accounts. Was resolved by Argyll Self-Catering, but could have been forewarned as it appears to be a known glitch. Given that to get any break during Covid-19 is a challenge for the owners, agents and customers its important that the cleaning and instructions given is to a high standard. We had a blocked sink on day 2, which would have been a problem before we got there - this was resolved but how can you clean with...more
We had a fantastic break in Kames. The cottage is very well equipped and cozy and the views are stunning. Lots of nice walks in the area.
Our main reason for hiring this property was the location, having stayed in other properties in Dunoon we expected a lot from this property but we were disappointed. There was no control for the heating, we tried turning radiators down but it didn’t do anything. Although the bed in the master bedroom was ok my daughter and grandson had to sleep on the floor as their beds were really uncomfortable. The bath in the main bathroom was cracked and the shower head clip did not hold the shower head in place.
Oystershell lodge is a fabulous place for a relaxed and peaceful stay. The location is unbeatable, stunning views over Loch Fyne and the oyster beds, there is always something to watch and the constantly changing sky makes it a fascinating area. The lodge is well equipped and really comfortable, we stayed for a week and wished we could have had longer. The Oyster Catcher pub is excellent and the surrounding area has so much to offer, great for walking, bird watching and generally mooching about.
Shelduck Cottage is perfectly situated as a base to explore the Cowal Peninsula, and nearby Bute. We had a fantastic week there and were very comfortable. We recommend it.
We had a great week's stay at Springburn. Val was very welcoming when we arrived with suggestions of places to eat and visit. All of which we did and she was spot on with the recommendations. The cottage is really cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. The loch side is just over the road and it was nice to sit there in the evenings after dinner to watch the sun go down over the mountains. I would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here. Thanks Val for a great week and see you soon.
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
Fantastic location. Easy to pop over to Bute, Aran. Amazing walks from the house or locally on the coast. Every day a different view according to the weather. Great for makerel fishing on the local pier. Dinner every night if you want to. Property well equipped, good to have some puzzles for those rainy days.
We have just returned from an enjoyable break in Holy Lodge. Holy Lodge is situated at the quieter end of the Hunters Quay site. It is a bright lodge, having a lovely, open outlook and good views. There is plenty of (grassed) space around the lodge which our daughters loved playing on. The lodge inside was a little tired but was very warm (heating and hot water very efficient) and had everything we needed for a comfortable break. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and the tv and wifi facilities worked great. Having a washing machine was useful too! Overall we had a great stay a...more
Needs a good clean before new arrivals.Have left a list of all the problems, Owner need to have the cottage cleaned after the Owners have been staying there.
Everything about The Ranch was fabulous. The owner, Dara, was super helpful before and during our stay, offering advice and tips about the local area as well as everything to do with the house. The location is simply stunning with a small river at the bottom of the garden and a river beach about 2 minutes walk away. There are countless gorgeous walks, waterfalls and beaches in the area. The Ranch itself is so comfortable and spacious. The beds are comfy, there are 3 bathrooms including a jacuzzi bath in the main bedroom ensuite. We are a family of 6 and The Ranch suited us perfectly. I'd...more
Had a great stay. Lovely cottage with stunning views. Great base to explore surrounding areas. Would recommend
Fisherman’s cottage is a comfortable cottage in a stunning location. Weather the weather is good or bad, the sea views can be enjoyed. The cottage is well equipped, and we made use of both the fire bowl in the garden and the wood burner in side. Fisherman’s cottage, because of it’s location is not obvious from the road, so some additional information in the directions would have been helpful. We were able to pull into the little lane to unpack, and parking on the road just along from the cottage was easy enough.
We enjoyed our break set in this stunning location, but we were left a little disappointed with the condition of the lodge. The facilities were generally good and we enjoyed the hot tub which was already hot on arrival however, the overall condition of the lodge was poor. The beds were both unstable with legs that were coming off, the wardrobe was barely standing as was a small side table in the lounge. In the bathroom there was a cover panel which had been stuck on with sellotape which I had to replace several times during our stay. Cleanliness was not great either which is not what I ex...more
On arrival the kitchen had brown sauce (?) and sticky marks on 2 wall unit doors, crumbs from last guests in fridge and toaster, an unbelievably (needs professionally cleaned) filthy, greasy oven (as were oven trays), (when I eventually used it blue smoke emanated out of it...never seen anything like it). Old half empty food packets from previous guests in a wall unit. Also the kitchen "tidy" held some fairy liquid, a used "white" now grey cloth, a used green scourer and a used dirty face mask!! (what pandemic)?? Kettle unusable due to thick white residue presumably from area having hard wate...more
We had a fabulous break in Dolphin Run. The chalet was well equipped, stylishly decorated and furnished, and immaculately presented. The sofas and beds were very comfortable. We were fortunate with the weather (bright, sunny and dry) and we enjoyed admiring the lovely view and autumn colours from the outside decking area. Despite the evening/ nights being cold we were very warm and cosy in the chalet. Dolphin Run provided us with a great base to explore the surrounding area. We felt reassured knowing that the chalet had been fogged prior to our arrival. We plan to revisit another time s...more
We had a fabulous break at culzean house, the house has everything you need amd hottub and sauna was perfect to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our family included 7 children from 2 years old to 14 years and they all loved the large garden space. We enjoyed exploring the outdoors, enjoying lovely nearby walks and visiting the lochs. This little cottage is a gem. So cosy and clean. A little dated but that adds to its charm. Great location..we spent time at portavadie marina which is only 5 mins away. Kids loved the garden! I will definitely return.
A welcome pack with essential groceries was waiting for us upon arrival. Very kind. I would use this property again but i would request a thorough cleaning. The standard needs to be better.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
We enjoyed our stay. There were minor complaints such as the floor being split over 2 levels. the shower not draining quickly and a lamp out in one of the bedrooms. Apart from that we enjoyed staying in the cottage and had a great holiday!
Everything you need for a quiet relaxed time away from life. Great place for self catering. Remote, but not far to drive, to go to local shops. Would love to have the opportunity to come again.
