Everything about our stay at Palm Court was excellent. Even before we arrived we had been given lots of ideas an recommendations from the property owner Lee. On arrival the place was clean and very well equipped, it even had surround sound. Our days were packed and to come back to such a homely place was perfect. The views from the 2 main bedrooms is stunning as well as from the living room and the balcony off it. All the beds were comfortable and there is plenty of space in the property for dining and relaxing.
A lovely clean and comfortable cottage, sitting in an attractive quiet street. Also, the friendly and helpful owner was always on hand when required. All excellent.
Birch cottage is just as described with comfortable accommodation and fabulous views over Loch Long. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful week at Stronchullin. We only used the ground floor as there was just two of us.
We stayed at Willow Bank Lodge in mid December and as such the area was very quiet which was ideal. The lodge was spotlessy clean and had every convenience that we needed (smart tv, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc). The WiFi/broadband worked perfectly. The lodge gives easy acces to many woodland walks. There is an abundance of birds and red squirrels in the immediate surroundings. We also saw deer which crossed our path as we were walking close to the cabin. Our dog loved watching the squirrels and birds. To sum up, this is a lovely cabin in a great location. We would definitel...more
Very lucky to find Kenmore Villa available at short notice but rewarded with spotlessly clean and tidy accommodation which provided a very convenient base to explore Cowal peninsula and Kintyre. It was great to view the loch from the spacious lounge and dining room and return to a warm, comfortable and well equipped house after days out walking on the coast and in the nearby forests.
Had a super week in excellent well equipped cottage . Track down to cottage bumpy but well worth it if you want seclusion in a location with lots of great scenery and places to eat
Apartment is very spacious with 2 large bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms. The views overlooking the sea with the Dunoon ferry were spectacular. The apartment was incredibly hot for a glomy October and we turned the heating right down. Radiators were incredibly efficient. Apartment in a fab location and close to centre, but also near Roads out of Dunoon to explore. My only two tiny picky things were: please provide a Cafietiere for coffee lovers! And there are vertical blinds in bedrooms but did not fully block lights out which was annoying with light coming through. However neither detract f...more
Excellent accommodation very clean and tidy, lovely location. Good off road parking.Just what I needed.
this was a really well maintained and well finished place, although attached to a working farm, not in any way noisy and no farm smells. proximity to Benmore Botanic gardens was brilliant with wildlife everywhere you look, Red Squirrel, Red Deer , birdlife, etc. the only downside for us was that we only booked a week and had to go home on Saturday.
Barr cottage is beautiful and set in the most picturesque area, everything you need within 20-30mins drive. The cottage is sparkling clean and has everything you need for a comfortable and cosy stay. Victoria was so helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend a stay.
Very spacious and clean. Welcome hamper was an added bonus. Perfect location right on the sea front with terrific views. Could possibly do with some sort of wall or fence in the front garden as there is a big drop onto the road.
If there is a more peaceful place on gods green earth, then point me to it, clamshell lodge is so quiet and peaceful, it was the perfect place to chill and wind down, it was my first holiday for 20 years and I will definitely be going back.
My husband and I were absolutely delighted with this beautiful apartment. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. It was so clean it never looked as though it had been lived in. The photos of the apartment are good but the actual apartment is far more stunning. I fell in love with it as soon as I opened the door. The rooms are spacious with the most outstanding views from the sitting room and the bedroom. The balcony is perfect for relaxing and looking out to the Loch. Everything you could possibly need is made available. The kitchen is spacious and has all essentials required. The area i...more
Great home with wonderful views on the loch, particularly from the upstairs seating arrangement and balcony. A spacious kitchen and large dinning area was ideal for family. There are a couple of pubs about 200 minutes walk away, but remember to take a torch as there is no street lighting for the majority of the pavement. Only slight negative is the pool table was on the slope with small holes in the cloth and just one cue which didn't have a tip.
We absolutely loved the cottage. It was very warm and welcoming. Modern, nice, and clean, this is exactly what we are always looking for while choosing a place to stay. Xmas decorations were a nice touch too. We travel around Scotland a lot, and we are already planning to return to the Gleneagles Cottage as soon as travel restrictions are lifted.
We have stayed in Craignethan many times and love it! The cottage, location and village are gorgeous. If you go I am sure you will love it as much as us! Big thanks to owners and Argyll Self Catering for making another memorable holiday.
We stayed for a week in September and were lucky enough to get fantastic weather. We were a party of 4 adults and our dogs. The owner was helpful and the house was clean and comfortable and the loch and mountain views are amazing. It’s in a great spot for visiting Oban and also not too far to Ben Nevis and many other great walks. Benderloch beach was great for our dogs. The garden is securely fenced so we didn’t need to worry if we opened the doors. We would have liked some outdoor furniture to enjoy the sun so maybe that could be added at some time. We will definitely come here again.
Our family had a great stay at Benmore Stable. Everything was perfect and the location is amazing with great views all around.
Spacious flat and kitchen was great -very well equipped. Views from living room and front bedroom are lovely. Quiet location. Decor is a bit dated but place was very clean. Open fireplace would make this flat perfect! There is a set of steep steps to access the flat which some people may find challenging particularly when carrying luggage, etc and there is no driveway- just a long path. We enjoyed our stay very much- thank you and we hope to visit again soon.
Our family comes to this part of Scotland every year and this is the best house we have stayed in. So much so we are booking it again for next year! As two couples we found the layout of the house really met our needs. The house was well equipped, modern showers, cosy fireplace, Sky TV, Wi-Fi. The best room by far is the kitchen/diner, with two windowed walls looking out directly to the Kyles of Bute, breath taking views every day, we saw plenty of seals in the water and deer on the beach and in the garden. There is a handy cupboard/room off the kitchen with all the glasses in it, plenty of ...more
This was our 7th stay at The Waterside and as always it didn't disappoint us in anyway. Bruce was an amazing host and communication was brilliant. We should have been a group of 8 but ended up with only 2 of us due to restrictions. A quiet and relaxing week which was just what we needed and The Waterside allows you to unwind perfectly. The most amazing views which are as good as watching any television from all of the living area windows, as well as the bedrooms. Many, many thanks for a wonderful time....we have already booked the same week for next year!
Fantastic location, beautiful views. Excellent accommodation. Thank you Eileen and to Ian at Argyll self catering holidays.
We had a superb stay at Shelbourne Lodge. It was well-appointed and just the right size and facility-wise (bathrooms, dining room, lounge, kitchen) to accommodate a family of 8. The location on the canal was lovely. Loved the fact that it was an older building with a history - even an album of old photos to prove it. Lovely private garden - and some of the best pillows encountered on my travels.
We felt very safe as everything had been deep cleaned prior to our arrival. We were really impressed that disinfectant had been left for our use, the owners were in touch with us informing us of road closures which was helpful. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last
Last minute getaway and had lovely stay here after original accommodation cancelled - which turned out to be a bonus - close to the botanic gardens and 5 minutes from Dunoon. Very comfortable and spacious - bigger than the photos show. Excellent customer service. - especially when we got a puncture- very helpful in organising help
I have stayed at this cottage a few times now and the location is excellent especially if you want to do some traveling around the area. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need, I would highly recommend this quaint cottage.
Rosemount Loft is very close to the Western Ferries Terminal. Easily walkable although we had a car and parking at the property was ideal. Instructions given to access the property were clear. The accommodation is stylish and quirky and well set up for a relaxing break. Everything is there that you would need. The flat is very comfortable with a wonderful outlook onto the Clyde from the tower room and thoughtfully, an excellent pair of binoculars are there to watch life on the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage and location. It is a lovely place to stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
My wife and I needed accommodation at short notice and the owner was very flexible about when we could check in and check out. Located very close to Hunters Quay ferry terminal it has an excellent location and good river views from the front garden. Good space.
Myself, my wife and our 5 year old daughter stayed for the week. Would highly recommend. Great space inside the lodge and very close to Dunoon and the holiday village activities. Will definitely be staying again.
The house has panoramic views up and down the Kyles which can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Several of our party swam from the rocks in front of the house. The house is generously proportioned and we found everything we needed to self cater for a long weekend. Highly recommended.
We ve been to this house with family and friends six times over the last few years. The facilities are excellent and the kitchen is well stocked for seven people. We had a slight issue with the hot water supply which was immediately sorted out by the friendly and very helpful owner. The bedrooms were set up to our requirements beforehand. The house was extremely clean and well presented. We will be back soon.
Very pleasant front garden area but unfortunately there is no indication from the photos and description about the close proximity of the properties behind Letters Lodge North. Strange to find personal items of clothing and footwear in the hanging area of the dining room. A very random selection of crockery/cutlery/glasses/cooking utensils and pans. No kitchen cleaner or washing up liquid provided. Strange and annoying intermittent banging noises from the locked owners cupboard in the third bedroom/upstairs living room.
Great location next to the village hotel and across from a small church. No mobile coverage at all (unless on EE) which was fine by us. Cottage appears to be post war pre-fab style construction, and has thin walls where sound travels (in case you have noisy children like me). Oil fired central heating worked great and the cottage was very cosy, we had to turn the temp down on arrival. Bedrooms are a good size and the cottage was clean and well kept, although a little tired. The grounds are a good size and well kept too, but we had no need to use them at this time of year (other than the childr...more
A great break in a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. This was our second stay here, postponed from spring, and it was well worth the wait.
Stayed here for 4 nights. It was really nice to see the red squirrels. The lodge was nice and cosy with plenty of room. The location is nice close to benmore gardens. Enjoyed getting away to the countryside for a few days.
Stayed in Sept 2020 and felt the property handled the Covid measures well, we enjoyed a pleasant stay with family members and felt safe and comfortable. Nice facilities and lovely the open plan kitchen/living room and the views over the water. The property was well equiped and furnished. would recommend it as a lovely place to stay in Dunoon.
Pier cottage is fantastic. It is in the most wonderful location with stunning views. It was spotless warm with all the facilities you need. Very very highly recommended and we will definitely book again
Our 3rd stay at Woodlea, perfect for a family of 4, all the basics provided and a homely feel. Owner is approachable and quick to respond to queries and requests. Would stay again (especially if a slightly comfier sofa installed).
The apartment is part of a new build near the waterfront, and also close to the shopping streets. It was warm and comfortable, with plenty of facilities and equipment.
We really enjoyed our stay at Ash Lodge! Very clean, cosy and quick responses from the owners. It was great value for money. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful! And we enjoyed a great dinner at the Whistleford pub just up the road. Highly recommended and thanks for our stay. To be aware, it's not completely secluded, with similar lodges neighbouring but it's at the bottom so you don't look out onto anyone.
What a find. Charming hosts and a great location combined to make this a perfect short break. A whole 2 bedroom flat to ourselves and had the weather been better a tranquil garden would have afforded a peacful setting as well. The property is well appointed with kitchen and all essential appliances, a large living room with beautiful views of the Clyde estuary and a double and smaller twin bedroom, the modern bathroom is also spacious. Dunoon centre is within easy walking distance and for those wanting to travel further afield the property has free parking. All in all a perfect propert...more
A lovely house with superb views. Large comfy lounge with views over the Clyde as is the master bedroom. Lovely to sit at in the morning and see red deer and squirrels. Pool table in hall was fun although a little restricted with the walls. The walk down the garden path to the shore is a little steep but once through the opening, steps take you to a road that leads to the shore, a great short cut from the main way up to the house. Lovely forest trail only about 100 yards from house and Toward is not too far away either with its Lighthouse. A perfect location for a quiet restful hol...more
Stunning location and well appointed home from home, will definitely come back to such a beautiful home and location
Teal Cottage is a pretty, very comfortable cottage with beautiful views of the loch and hills right from the lounge and kitchen windows. A great base for exploring Cowal, Kintyre and the surrounding areas with a whole variety of walks including coastal, mountains and glens. We had a wonderful stay here and received a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed a wonderful short break in Cockleshell Lodge. The Loch is literally a stone’s throw from the well appointed cottage. Perfect situation for water sports, birdwatching and beach combing. We dug for shellfish which we cooked and enjoyed enormously. The estate is very safe for children to play, run about, cycle and walk. It’s so quiet and peaceful. The Lodge itself is very comfortable with a wood burning stove. There were beach towels also which was a bonus. Ensure you take plenty food as the nearest shop is in Tighnabruaich. There is a large freezer in the kitchen which is quite well...more
Despite not so great weather, we had a wonderful stay at Trevenek. It is a beautiful, very well appointed and sparklingly clean cottage, tucked away in Slockavulin yet close to all of the places we wanted to visit. It was fantastic to have cosy evenings with the log burner on after a day exploring in the rain. Highly recommend - we’ll be back.
Everything you need is provided in the cottage owners phoned to check everything was ok.The view from cottage was amazing.Would definitely recommend.
Myrtle bank villa, is spacious. Very well thought out for families, jigsaw puzzles, games, books, etc. We love staying there, as it is so welcoming and comfortable. It's lovely to sit and have breakfast overlooking the loch. If we went to Dunoon again, this is where we would stay. Tge only drawback is one of the beds has changed since our last visit, not very comfortable to sleep in, as it bows in the middle. Apart from that we would still stay again.
The cottage was very clean & tidy throughout with everything needed to provide a lovely holiday, including an incredible bathroom with spa bath & overhead rain shower. Owner was on hand whenever needed which was excellent service. Would love to return.
Nice comfortable cottage lovely views very peaceful location nice welcome pack good communication before we got there all Covid covered would recommend to anyone ale home very relaxed
Stayed at Enmore to celebrate a family 60th birthday and had a great time. Property was in a great location with sea views of the Clyde. Plenty room for all and house had been deep cleaned with fogging process by host Mark.
Fabulous spacious villa. Beautiful location/views. Super decking area with delightful hot tub. Couldn't have asked for anything more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A beautiful view from the window is the USP of this property. Could do with brightening up inside & maybe more comfortable furniture in the sitting room (weather was awful so we were inside more) Having said that it had everything we needed. No housekeeping notices though. Sleeps 4 adults is pushing it unless it is only a base for sleeping. The location is ideal- so central to the village. A well stocked shop close by & cafes & bars/ restaurants a short distance away. Locals very friendly & helpful.
A nice house near the centre of Dunoon. It has a large garden area which is great to relax in during the nicer weather. Rooms are spacious enough and all very comfortable.
The house is in a perfect location with wonderful views. It's really comfortable, well equipped and warm. We have had a lovely stay here and would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area.
We booked for 1 week at this cottage in Strone, good weather and location made for a great break. A few gremlins with the booking after payment, only impacts those with Gmail accounts. Was resolved by Argyll Self-Catering, but could have been forewarned as it appears to be a known glitch. Given that to get any break during Covid-19 is a challenge for the owners, agents and customers its important that the cleaning and instructions given is to a high standard. We had a blocked sink on day 2, which would have been a problem before we got there - this was resolved but how can you clean with...more
We stayed here as a family of 4 (2 children aged 7 and 10) and mostly had a lovely time. The location on the loch is stunning and the cottage had a nice bit of character and a decent sized garden (shared with next door cottage). However, the beds were very uncomfortable and badly need replacing. We knew there would be road noise but along with uncomfortable beds this made for very disturbed sleep. There was a note from the cleaner to say that they were cleaning to high standards due to covid 19, however I felt the standard of cleaning could have been better, especially in the fridge. The only ...more
Had a fantastic time in Kames over the festive period the lodge was great for our stay with stunning views and log burner to keep us warm would use it again
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. The owner gave us lots of tips on places to go which was very useful.
We had a fantastic break in Kames. The cottage is very well equipped and cozy and the views are stunning. Lots of nice walks in the area.
Our main reason for hiring this property was the location, having stayed in other properties in Dunoon we expected a lot from this property but we were disappointed. There was no control for the heating, we tried turning radiators down but it didn’t do anything. Although the bed in the master bedroom was ok my daughter and grandson had to sleep on the floor as their beds were really uncomfortable. The bath in the main bathroom was cracked and the shower head clip did not hold the shower head in place.
The lodge itself is well laid out with a wonderful kitchen, lounge, dining area perfect for relaxing in. The location however is nothing short of sublime. Even on bad weather days all you need do is sit in front of the fire and watch the weather patterns out over the loch. On one day we were lucky enough to spot an otter out in the loch.
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
Fantastic location. Easy to pop over to Bute, Aran. Amazing walks from the house or locally on the coast. Every day a different view according to the weather. Great for makerel fishing on the local pier. Dinner every night if you want to. Property well equipped, good to have some puzzles for those rainy days.
Lovely stay .Very comfy ,specious lodge . Excellent location . Lodge has everything what we need and much more . Amaizing view through the window . Thanks Diane
Great accommodation would definitely recommend it. All facilities we needed. We found the drying room really useful when returning from outdoor activities. The owners were really helpful too when we had an enquiry.
Everything about The Ranch was fabulous. The owner, Dara, was super helpful before and during our stay, offering advice and tips about the local area as well as everything to do with the house. The location is simply stunning with a small river at the bottom of the garden and a river beach about 2 minutes walk away. There are countless gorgeous walks, waterfalls and beaches in the area. The Ranch itself is so comfortable and spacious. The beds are comfy, there are 3 bathrooms including a jacuzzi bath in the main bedroom ensuite. We are a family of 6 and The Ranch suited us perfectly. I'd...more
Me and my partner had a lovely break in the lodge. Everything you need for a self catering break in a beautiful part of Scotland. All the facilities you require are on the site and when you get out and about it is just beautiful. If you are a out doors person then i would recommend this place, especially if you love scenery and wildlife. (red squirrels everywhere and deer feeding on the lawn). But don't just stay on the site there are some lovely walks and attractions within a short drive. All you need is the weather....
Fabulous location. Great for a relaxing break. Very peaceful. Warm, comfortable, spacious lodge. Great walks in the area. The hot tub was fantastic, you could admire the view from the hot tub.It was very clean and maintained daily, The hot tub is under a canopy so you can use it even when it is raining. Loved the red squirrels and birds you can view from the lodge who came to eat from the feeders on the trees opposite. My only critisim was the kitchen - the surfaces had quite a lot of crumbs, and the cupboard shelves were not wiped down, so we had to give the kitchen a clean before we put ...more
Fisherman’s cottage is a comfortable cottage in a stunning location. Weather the weather is good or bad, the sea views can be enjoyed. The cottage is well equipped, and we made use of both the fire bowl in the garden and the wood burner in side. Fisherman’s cottage, because of it’s location is not obvious from the road, so some additional information in the directions would have been helpful. We were able to pull into the little lane to unpack, and parking on the road just along from the cottage was easy enough.
We had a fabulous break in Dolphin Run. The chalet was well equipped, stylishly decorated and furnished, and immaculately presented. The sofas and beds were very comfortable. We were fortunate with the weather (bright, sunny and dry) and we enjoyed admiring the lovely view and autumn colours from the outside decking area. Despite the evening/ nights being cold we were very warm and cosy in the chalet. Dolphin Run provided us with a great base to explore the surrounding area. We felt reassured knowing that the chalet had been fogged prior to our arrival. We plan to revisit another time s...more
Shelduck cottage is situated at the end of the loch with lovely views. It has a large enclosed garden. The cottage was comfortable and we enjoyed having the log burner on in the evenings. The kitchen was basically equipped with one set of cutlery, one bowl, one plate etc per person ( covid regulations) . The frying pan was really no use at all and one of the saucepan lids was broken and quite dangerous. We also had to take our own towels which we have never had to do in other self catering establishments. The nearest shop is in Tighnabruaich which is a 15 minute drive away.
We had a fabulous break at culzean house, the house has everything you need amd hottub and sauna was perfect to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our family included 7 children from 2 years old to 14 years and they all loved the large garden space. We enjoyed exploring the outdoors, enjoying lovely nearby walks and visiting the lochs. Due to COVID the restaurants nearby were still closed or had restrictions therefore we were unable to use them however we were able to...more
This little cottage is a gem. So cosy and clean. A little dated but that adds to its charm. Great location..we spent time at portavadie marina which is only 5 mins away. Kids loved the garden! I will definitely return.
Lovely lodge in stunning area, very well equipped and all the comforts of home. Ideal base for exploring the area. Red squirrels and deer in the area
Cannot express gratitude and thanks enough to Iain argyle lets and owner for accommodating us at short notice Your kindness is much appreciated The cottage was so homely and location stunning It was so lovely to be able to return and relax at end each day to this restful cosy place Perfect place for us thank you so much
Having a sore ankle, the steps were were not easy on coming down. A light was very much needed to get at the key. The bath could do with a non slip mat or rubber discs. The place soon warmed, with the heating on for about an hour.
Yealand House has a great location and has wonderful views . The house itself is quite odd - eg the bathroom window is into the bedroom and does not have blackout curtains so when the bathroom is used at night the bedroom is illuminated. Similarly the bedroom window is into the sitting room- equally difficult. The eating facilities are poor - a small kitchen table is inadequate for 6 to eat around. The kettle leaks- and the teapot is inadequate for 6. I was irritated that the promised multi fuel stove in the sitting room cost £50 to use and this was not advertised in the booking details, I thin...more
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
No separate toilet contrary to the description. The dinner table was wobbly. We had to screw it back. The WiFi is really poor. The kitchen drawers & the kitchen hood were dirty. Not enough dishes. No replacement for the toaster when it broke down. But lovely situation near the loch & nice welcoming basket
With panelled ceilings, winding staircase & rustic feel - cottage has fab views & walks. We were warm & comfy despite accommodation suffering ‘end of season’ blues. Tip - take a peanut feeder to see wonderful birds, red squirrels etc. Great base to explore gorgeous Scotland in its spectacular Autumn glory.
