Bring some warm clothing. Heat is run a couple hours in the morning and a couple at night. The landlord was friendly.
Rae and Justin provided a beautiful, clean and practical accommodation and were very responsive and helpful hosts. Highly recommend staying at Coorie Braw!
Stayed the week here with family and friends, couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. The location and stunning views were just beautiful. All the facilities in the house were faultless. We will deffo recommend in the future :)
We had a lovely stay here and honestly couldn’t fault it. The location is excellent – really peaceful and perfect if you’re looking to relax. It’s right by the shore which was ideal for walks, and it’s only a short trip into Rothesay where you’ll find the main shops, cafés and everything you need. The views from the windows were absolutely stunning. Looking straight out to the sea, it was lovely watching the ferries and boats passing by. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived, the kitchen was really well equipped with everything you could need. All the essentials were there (even th...more
An excellent, cosy cabin to escape from the world, yet located in an area with so much to do. The host was super easy to contact, communicate with and provided limitless help and information. The hot shower and comfy beds topped it off. Cannot recommend enough.
This was our fourth stay at Chapelton Cottage. It's so convenient as a base for exploring locally and beyond. The cottage is clean and comfortable, and the welcome pack is a lovely added bonus! We already have a couple more visits booked!
We stayed at Fyne Rooms while walking the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way. The location was excellent and the room was very comfortable and clean. Our host was very friendly and we had everything we needed!
Apartment is comfortable, spotless and exceptionally well equipped. The view from the front window is stunning. Close to local hotel selling good pub grub in a friendly atmosphere. Would not hesitate to return.
Within walking distance to most places we wanted to go to, we loved this flat. It was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed to have a stress free holiday.
The room is superb and has everything you could desire. The bed is very comfortable. It has everything: an iron, a hair drier, a fridge with complimentary drinks and a tv. I collected the key from the shop. If I had not known I could get the key there I might have had a problem. The bathroom is very cold
This was my first stay at Kevington Cottage. I immediately loved the place and spent every morning in the conservatory overlooking the private garden. The garden was also worthy of a daily walkabout. We took advantage of the nearby bus stop and traveled to a couple of fishing spots. The ferry terminal was also just around the corner. Dunoon’s stores for essentials, shops, restaurants and pubs were a quick cab or bus ride. Or if you have time, a longer stroll along the waterfront. I highly recommend the cottage. The owners are also very accommodating and I look forward to another vis...more
Excellent house, which was used as a base to explore the area. We had very good weather more or less when we were there (mid-May 23 for a week), which helps. Not many midges about! The house was clean and comfortable with large kitchen area and dining area with two of all major white goods (two ovens, fridges, microwaves etc.). Red squirrel watched us each breakfast most mornings. Three (very) large bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, which we used (we were a party of three couples). One bedroom downstairs with separate bathroom and I believe the house can accommodate up to ten. The v...more
Had a wonderful stay here.Lovely family house which has everything you need and more.We had a 10 month old baby with us and it was perfect for him too .Host was very helpful .Totally recommend it .
Me and four friends stayed at Raj’s awesome Fyne Rooms as a night stop over on our five ferries cycle weekend. Arrived late and soaked - the lovely rooms were a Godsend! Also, Raj lent us the use of small shed to lock our bikes up. Also despite being fully booked up & really busy, Raj and his lovely team Nathan & Tabby(?) cooked us some really tasty pakora and nan wraps. I would not hesitate recommending. Thank you guys, Tony
My wife and I spent a week here with our dog and found it a gorgeous spot to stay which we all enjoyed. The hosts were lovely and welcoming, the cabin had all the amenities that you might want and the loch side location is amazing. The only warming is to mind your head in the cabin! But overall we loved it. ❤️
We spent the most peaceful 5 days here. Best equipped kitchen we have ever experienced in a number of years of self catering accommodation. Loved the setting. We would love to return. Thank you ☺️
Had a great time in this lovely house. It was very comfortable and the cleanliness of the property was outstanding. Just a pity you couldn't have sorted out the weather too!
This is my 2nd stay at Blairlagan and again the lodge was just perfect. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped, beds very comfortable. Great communication from Liz prior to and after arrival. Highly recommend the lodge and will be back
Flat was clean, comfortable, warm and well-equipped. Location good, response to a small problem quick, efficient and friendly.
First impression was a light and airy feel to the apartment. Every room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for us to self cater in the kitchen and entertain in the sitting room with games and jigsaws for rainy days. The apartment was on the first floor with stunning views across of the Kyles of Bute and beyond, and even binoculars to look at the otter and porpoises that we spotted from the window! Walking along to Tighnabuiach village was an easy 20 mins on the flat seaside road, with access to shops, cafes and an Indian restaurant. Fyne Raja was excellent if you like...more
We had a most enjoyable stay in the height of comfort. Nothing had been missed - even Christmas decorations . The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and warm and welcoming in the height of winter. The view was outstanding as was the weather.
We had a lovely stay with our dog. The grounds were great for walking a young dog and Heronlea was perfectly placed for getting about the area. Our hosts, Kevin and Kate couldn’t be more welcoming and thoughtful. We will be back!
Coorie Doon was a fabulous cottage, kitted out to a very high standard. The location on the canal was first class. Would recommend and return again.
This property is just superb, colourful and radiant, it catered for all our needs and more in great style, everything is top quality & well thought out, suitable for young and old, it's impressive, immaculate and well maintained since our last stay here 2 years ago with absolutely no faults. Seeing the Lambs in the adjacent field is always a bonus. I can't imagine you'd find anywhere better, a truely charming property.
Staying this close to a one of my besties made a change! Perfectly placed for where I took my bike for a couple of solo rides (first time taking the bike on holiday - finally forked out for the appropriate tow-bar bike rack!). Very well presented property, with plenty of parking. Bigger than where I would normally stay, but loved the location - peaceful, yet close to amenities. Comfortable bed. Epic water pressure in the ensuite shower! I'd highly recommend this property to anyone.
I’m a returning customer to this beautiful apartment. It’s fresh, light and spotlessly clean. It’s a real home from home being so well equipped and comfortable. The view and light in the front rooms of the water is simply stunning!
The cottage was easy to find, with off street parking. The property was clean and welcoming with everything we needed for 2 couples. 5 minutes walk froim Dunoon main street, really enjoyed our stay. Already booked again for next year.
Fantastic. We love coming to this cottage. Always enjoy our stay. Owner Lil always makes us feel welcome and will do anything she can to help if you need it.
We had a lovely 4 nights based at the house whilst exploring the geology and pre-history in the area. A very comfortable house to come back to after being out all day.
Disappointed that reading a review from July 2025 about gates not secure, this issue had not been addressed! We could not let our dog out to run freely in the garden because the garden was insecure, when we tried to close the gates, the whole front fencing wobbled& was very unstable! The owners obviously knew this because one gate was tie wrapped & one tied to a marine buoy!! The outside of the cottage needed a good lick of paint, bit grubby looking as we pulled up !!! I did need to clean the front patio doors so we could see out! In addition the shower cubicle was failing to drain, resolved...more
We stayed in the Bute room at Fyne Rooms and loved it. The room was comfy, clean and in the perfect location. Raj and his wife Anita were thoughtful hosts and we hope to return someday. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed staying at Cairnbaan House and very much appreciated its location and its special atmosphere. Such a comfortable, peaceful place with much to do in the vicinity. We wish we could have stayed longer. If we come back to this fascinating area, we certainly will come back to this lovely cottage.
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
We (2 families) stayed a week in this really nice and cozy accomodation. We found everything we needed, the kitchen was really well equipped, the 3 bathroomes were new and very nice. The furnishings of the rooms are really great, we really felt at home in this house. The surrounding is exceptional and nice quite and every day we enjoyed the view to the ocean. There was a small problem with the shower at the start, but the caretaker took immediately care of it. We would come back any Time.
This was a hi-tec cottage delivering all you could need bar the weather! The owners have thought of everything and the specification of all the equipment of a very high standard. They all worked too even if it took the seniors time to master them.Only challenge manouvering the entrance to the parking at the back of the cottage. The roomy dining and lounge afeas allowed all our family to gather for meals in the evening which really made the holiday.
Lovely lodge ,beautiful views, peaceful home from home .has everything you need ,looking forward to go back again soon
Had a lovely time here, beautiful location and loved having the log fire and being so close to red squirrels and birds. Close enough to dunoon for shops and restaurants, but also right next to Pucks Glen and Benmore Botanic gardens. Would highly recommend Ard Darach Lodge.
Excellent accommodation. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The only drawback is the three flights of stairs so you need to have good mobility to stay here. Good value for money.
A fantastic house in a brilliant location. We had a lovely weekend at Aldersyde last weekend. The house is so comfortable, its like a home from home. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, living room is lovely and cosy, bathrooms are gorgeous and the games room was great. The kitchen and utility have everything you need and there is so much fridge space. Loads of crockery and glassware and plastic glasses for outside. The deck area is spacious and comfortable and the views there are spectacular. The hot tub was great too. Cannot wait to return here, was such a relaxing and fun weekend
Lovely peaceful location within easy reach of facilities in Dunoon. Property provided all we needed to have a relaxing stay.
Excellent location, very well equipped, spacious, this is a great base for a family holiday. Plenty of bathrooms, large shared areas, terrace and beach …and beautiful views.
Janeville is in a perfect spot with lovely views over Loch Fyne. The host was very welcoming, popping in shortly after our arrival. Walks or cycles along the canal are highly recommended. Nearby, Lochgilphead has all amenities you would need.
This is the 5th time we have stayed at Arthur's Seat so it is a home from home for us. The weather was lovely so the view from the garden was at it's best. This is a great house to chill in with lovely walks for the dog. This house has everything you need and the hosts are very kind and helpful before and during the stay. We will be back for a 6th visit
Property was clean, homely and welcoming, if a little tired in places. The location is perfect for relaxation, with spectacular views over the Clyde from the front windows. Shower was amazing, and the kitchen was very well-equipped for a holiday let. I didn't find any of the furniture particularly comfortable, but I guess that's just personal preference (eg. the bed was WAY softer than I'm used to). The communication from the owner was generally good, and there were some nice touches on arrival, with staples like bread, milk, eggs and butter being provided, along with some biscuits and pres...more
Kames and the property are ideal for cycling and kayaking. Views from inside are limited but outside chairs are comfortable. Limited storage and small fridge but clean and comfortable with lots of great eating places not far away.
Great cottage, equipped to a very high standard. Everything beautifully thought out so that your stay is extremely comfortable and relaxing. A beautiful home from home.
We stayed a week at Rhoda's Cottage end of May 2026. It was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. Part of a grand house with gardens on the edge of a sea loch. It is comfortable, well decorated, full of style and on the edge of a tranquill sea loch. Very friendly staff of the house made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.
Stayed here to vist family lovely cottage , felt could been blinds at windows living room draw night very open , our peace was desturbed by upstairs hammering , banging an drilling on fri an sat , overall wauld stay here again hopefully be peaceful, I also feel some logs could been provided no just show , clean an comfortable cottage .loverly viwes also no outside lights .
We were disappointed that there was no welcome pack, not even a teabag. The location is wonderful, but for the money paid, cleanliness wasn’t great. The dishwasher hadn’t been completely emptied, cobwebs visible, sofa corners - not pleasant & log basket wasn’t full for our first cold night indoors. The downstairs shower leaked water all over the floor under the glass side panel. But the house is lovely - just a bit more TLC.
Hi dish washer broken No keys for gun safe No toiletries in bath rooms Very little loo roll and told to buy our own No dishwasher tablets or washing machine powder Logs poor quality and not many Just little things let it down
Nice, quiet location with sea view across the loch and well equipped. Some simple maintenance is required to fix the outside lights as the the path and steps are dangerous in the dark, also the shower doors.
This property is advertised with private parking but there isn't any. You need to park out of sight on the street and access the property down an alleyway and across a neighbours yard, which is littered with debris. I advised Argyll Self Catering of the error in the listing but 6 weeks later this has still not been rectified.
Eleven members of our family stayed at Fyne Rooms/Burnside and we were all delighted by the accommodations -- comfy, clean and in the perfect location. Raj and his wife Anita were thoughtful hosts and we hope to return someday. Highly recommended!
An excellent holiday destination with excellent views of the Clyde. The house is distinctive, and `quirky`, stylish but requires some attention to detail as regards the entrance way and approach to the house (first impressions do count). Main lounge with amazing views is let down somewhat by `student accommodation` quality furniture. The owner was most helpful when it came to resolving a couple of issues we had, friendly and supportive, as were Argyll Holidays. So, overall, an interesting holiday choice, ideally located to travel around the west coast and close to each of the major ferries to ...more
This is a charming little holiday cottage set in the middle of a forest. We have really enjoyed our 3 night stay here as it was so quiet and peaceful we counted less than six cars passing each day mainly just walkers out enjoying the fantastic woodland. The cottage itself had a good sized shower and a recently fitted kitchen which isn’t shown in the holiday cottage photos. There is also a very nice well kept garden to the side of the cottage with ample off road parking. We would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere really quiet with nothing else to listen to other tha...more
We are returning customers in Dunoon, as we periodically work in the area. The accommodation is well equipped with all you need when you are away from home. Nice place to have a good rest and to explore the beautiful natural surroundings.
We had a very enjoyable three nights at Newton Cottage South. Excellent location and very comfortable accommodation.
Had a great break and apartment spacious and very clean. Would only say can do with upgrading as seating not very comfortable after an hour or so. Pillows same, beds not too comfy, to our preference. Flat was quite central, and our host amazing at communication and so helpful. Wouldn't hesitate in staying again as terrific big flat.
Gorgeous view across Loch Long, peaceful location and the cottages nicely spaced so you feel alone. Beds comfortable and log burner so great nights in front of the fire. I would only add the condiments are in sachets so we bought our own olive oil and butter from a local supermarket in Dunoon, so if you like to cook you might want to bring some items with you. Definitely will return.
A lovely log cabin in a lovely setting . My thoughts are that it would suit two adults comfortably. We were 3 adults and for example the settee easily seated 2 . With 3 it was too close together , for us anyway . We found all the notices of ‘don’t do this or that ‘ a bit unwelcoming and we have stayed in log cabins many times before . And in fact left Iona cabin to go to one on the Ardnamurchan! It was fine for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay as we are nature lovers and photographers!
There was a very damp and musty smell in the hall and bathroom. The vegetation surrounding the cabin was overgrown so the outside felt oppressive rather than having a clear view of the Loch as per the advertisement. The wall glazing needs cleaning. The owner kindly supplies a huge amount of logs stored outside. Half of them disappeared during our stay which made us feel insecure as we felt it may be a local resident. ( Not really anyone else passing) Despite all this, the cabin was warm, extremely comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen, and we loved walking around and down to the ...more
First time we stayed here and won’t be the last ! Already rebooked The apartment is close for everything you need - town- pubs- shops - Morrisons - views - ferries you name it ! Right on the front with spectacular views over the waters and the elevated platform in the bay view window with seats and binoculars is an added bonus for checking out the wildlife. A well equipped kitchen with a great cooker and lots of pans and crockery- but - i would recommend bringing a casserole dish though as I couldn’t find one The garden is beautiful too
Really enjoyed this part of Scotland scenery is running and the owner Andrew very helpful really enjoyed our break
The photos do not match the current state of Ash Lodge as there is clearly no loch / mountain view and is far closer to the main road than indicated. The garden is overgrown and not secure for dogs. In fact the step by the hot tub into the garden is high and dangerous. When we arrived at the property, there was an extremely funny smell throughout, as though someone had recently been cooking and the lodge had not been aired at all. It took three days with windows opened until the smell started to disappear. Whilst the bedding and bathroom were clean, the kitchen equipment sadly were not. The ov...more
There are a number of steps to negotiate (so not ideal if you have mobility issues), but this only enhances the view you get from the property which is wonderful. Beds are very comfortable and there is a great downstairs shower. Nice couple of local pubs serving good food.
Lovely cottage with beautiful views.A bit isolated for us need to read the overview more. Not near ammenities like local shops, petrol station and pubs and restaurants.T.V with freesat and apps.Plenty of space for 5 adults plenty of hot water.Use of washing machine ,but dryer in shed not working.Wood burner for chilly nights even in june when its rainning.Would reccommend if you like hiking and isolation. The peace and quiet was lovely ,but not the midges.
Firstly I would like to thank MrsNEVILLE FOR OUR WONDERFULL STAY IN HER COTTAGE ,What a wonderful. place. to stay to have our Anniversary her welcome from her and her sons was second to none nothing was to much ,even though she was having some mobility issue and we hope she recovers soon, the whole family did go the extra mile ,myself and june loved it staying there ,the cottage is a lovely home from home the area is just somthing else we cant wait to return forever to this area ,thank you we are greatfull highly recommend
Absolutely fabulous location with stunning views. Unfortunately a cabin in need of an overhaul, especially regarding cleaning. Cob webs and stained and moldy textiles. A few fresh air valves would make a huge different for the cottage too. Really unfortunate on a great setting!
The cabin is in a good, quiet location on the village with a good view. Easy self check-in. Cabin nicely furnished and very clean. Comfy beds ensured a good nights sleep. Close to local facilities in Dunoon and plenty to see in the surrounding area. I would suggest you take your own towels. Our second visit.
The setting could not be bettered for a quiet and beautiful getaway. The kitchen is well equipped. The log supply was very generous as due to the weather we used on a few evenings. A few things require attention. An unseen Split in a Perspex dining chair caused an injury while in use. We left a note so that this could be picked up quickly. Sliding patio doors in sitting room almost need two people to operate as very heavy and hard to slide. The en suite sink in main bedroom requires a plug. These were the only three things that we felt would have improved our stay. The lodge offers a comfort...more
We had an absolutely delightful and relaxing stay in Musselshell Lodge. The location is everything. The scenery is jawdropping. We stayed local and took the dog for lots of walks down at the lochshore and around the estate grounds. The lodge was well appointed; however a small number of fairly important fixtures are in need of repair/ replacement. Don't let that put you off- we're already planning to return in Easter.
A wonderfully comfortable and luxurious house in a stunning location. Lots to do in the local area. Highly recommended!
I stayed at Culzean House with my family (8 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs). The rooms were great; clean and comfortable. The location worked well for us. Some nearby, nice places such as Ardentinny beach and Lock Eck. We were also a short drive away from some nice cafes. We weren’t so lucky with the weather but we still had a great time and got some use out of the hot tub. I would love to stay here again, Chris.
We found Alder Cottage situated in a very scenic spot, however our first impressions of the cleanliness was very disappointing. On arrival we entered the cottage and as the light was fading I turned on both floor lamps either side of the fireplace., unfortunately they both were full of cobwebs and dust, the lights on the wall above the fire were also full of cobwebs. The 2 sofas in the living room obviously had not been hoovered as there were a load of crumbs and food under the cushions. The first morning we went to make breakfast, I lifted the frying pan out only to feel grease on the base ...more
Had a lovely week in Larch Cottage Fantastic location overlooking the loch and so quiet. Cottage had everything we needed although information folder could do with an update. Loved the wood burner.
The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed but the bathroom needed upgrading in our opinion. The stairs were also a problem for 2 seventy year olds - very narrow steps and needed more banisters. The single bed used in the twin room had a duvet that had seen better days and the mattress was thin for an adult. The road leading to the cottage had several pot holes. However the position overlooking the Loch was lovely.
Such a relaxing holiday the weather was amazing the views from the house are awesome. Well equipped kitchen.
The customer service we received has been amazing. The property was fantastic and the lads were definitely comfortable.
I am sorry to have to say the following. The decor of the cottage is very dated and worn. For example: the upholstery of the chairs of the dining room chairs is broken, the control knobs of the heaters are broken, window of the upstairs bedroom cannot be closed, the bath towels and kitchen linen are a little worn out. But there was a surprising welcome package with fresh eggs and delicacies.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
