Birch cottage is just as described with comfortable accommodation and fabulous views over Loch Long. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful week at Stronchullin. We only used the ground floor as there was just two of us.
We recently spent 3 nights at this wonderful apartment in Kirn near Dunoon. It has everything you could wish for and more. The views are amazing and the house is well equipped for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It's just a short walk to the shops and amenities in Dunoon, 5 minutes from the ferry terminal and there are numerous places to visit along Argyll's Secret Coast. Even in these strange times the owners did everything to ensure we had a safe and comfortable stay. A trip to Benmore Botanic Gardens is a must, beautiful views from Ardentinny Beach, a short drive to Colintraive and the 5 ...more
Everything about our stay at Palm Court was excellent. Even before we arrived we had been given lots of ideas an recommendations from the property owner Lee. On arrival the place was clean and very well equipped, it even had surround sound. Our days were packed and to come back to such a homely place was perfect. The views from the 2 main bedrooms is stunning as well as from the living room and the balcony off it. All the beds were comfortable and there is plenty of space in the property for dining and relaxing.
Very lucky to find Kenmore Villa available at short notice but rewarded with spotlessly clean and tidy accommodation which provided a very convenient base to explore Cowal peninsula and Kintyre. It was great to view the loch from the spacious lounge and dining room and return to a warm, comfortable and well equipped house after days out walking on the coast and in the nearby forests.
Had a super week in excellent well equipped cottage . Track down to cottage bumpy but well worth it if you want seclusion in a location with lots of great scenery and places to eat
We had a brilliant holiday at Creran Reef - a spacious house with plenty of room for 7 adults. Beautiful location overlooking Loch Creran, with wonderful views of the loch particularly from the 1st floor balcony! Creran Reef is only 15 minutes from Oban, so perfect for our boat trip from there to Mull, Staffa and Iona, as well as for our trip to Fort William and Nevis Range. Creran Reef is well-equipped, but like most holiday houses would benefit from some sharper kitchen knives! It was also a pity that COVID restrictions meant that the washing machine that stopped working couldn't b...more
Outstanding property with everything you could possibly need. Immaculately clean and very comfortable will definitely book again
Excellent accommodation very clean and tidy, lovely location. Good off road parking.Just what I needed.
this was a really well maintained and well finished place, although attached to a working farm, not in any way noisy and no farm smells. proximity to Benmore Botanic gardens was brilliant with wildlife everywhere you look, Red Squirrel, Red Deer , birdlife, etc. the only downside for us was that we only booked a week and had to go home on Saturday.
Barr cottage is beautiful and set in the most picturesque area, everything you need within 20-30mins drive. The cottage is sparkling clean and has everything you need for a comfortable and cosy stay. Victoria was so helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend a stay.
My husband and I were absolutely delighted with this beautiful apartment. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. It was so clean it never looked as though it had been lived in. The photos of the apartment are good but the actual apartment is far more stunning. I fell in love with it as soon as I opened the door. The rooms are spacious with the most outstanding views from the sitting room and the bedroom. The balcony is perfect for relaxing and looking out to the Loch. Everything you could possibly need is made available. The kitchen is spacious and has all essentials required. The area i...more
Great home with wonderful views on the loch, particularly from the upstairs seating arrangement and balcony. A spacious kitchen and large dinning area was ideal for family. There are a couple of pubs about 200 minutes walk away, but remember to take a torch as there is no street lighting for the majority of the pavement. Only slight negative is the pool table was on the slope with small holes in the cloth and just one cue which didn't have a tip.
Very spacious and clean. Welcome hamper was an added bonus. Perfect location right on the sea front with terrific views. Could possibly do with some sort of wall or fence in the front garden as there is a big drop onto the road.
We have stayed in Craignethan many times and love it! The cottage, location and village are gorgeous. If you go I am sure you will love it as much as us! Big thanks to owners and Argyll Self Catering for making another memorable holiday.
Very nicely and tastefully renovated old stable building in beautiful surrounding. The house is perfectly equipped and the landlords were very friendly and helpful!
Spacious flat and kitchen was great -very well equipped. Views from living room and front bedroom are lovely. Quiet location. Decor is a bit dated but place was very clean. Open fireplace would make this flat perfect! There is a set of steep steps to access the flat which some people may find challenging particularly when carrying luggage, etc and there is no driveway- just a long path. We enjoyed our stay very much- thank you and we hope to visit again soon.
Great location right on the Kyles, you could spend all day just drinking the view in from the living/kitchen window. The cottage has been beautifully renovated and is as clean as a whistle with wifi and all your modern conveniences. Great spot for exploring the Cowal peninsula but you can see lots of wildlife on your doorstep including deer in the garden and lots of sea birds on the rocks below the cottage. There are otters as well but alas this week we didn't spot them we will be returning to this lovely cottage.
Fantastic location, beautiful views. Excellent accommodation. Thank you Eileen and to Ian at Argyll self catering holidays.
We spent a lot of time trying to find our ideal getaway, we thought we had found it, and on arrival - yes we had. Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this lovely relaxing place. Just what we needed.
Our stay couldn’t have been more perfect. Views from windows amazing, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and great en suites. Fabulous location. Village had fireworks on Hogmanay at each end, we had benefit of both lots being in middle. Grandson loved beach combing, and bonus seeing otters in wild. Loonie dook was loonie. Food at Royal an Lochan v tasty. Lunch at the Oystercatcher amazing. Beach at Ostel Bay lovely and peaceful albeit few muddy bits to get to it. All in all a great choice for family break to see in 2020.
We had a superb stay at Shelbourne Lodge. It was well-appointed and just the right size and facility-wise (bathrooms, dining room, lounge, kitchen) to accommodate a family of 8. The location on the canal was lovely. Loved the fact that it was an older building with a history - even an album of old photos to prove it. Lovely private garden - and some of the best pillows encountered on my travels.
An idyllic setting, truly away from it all. We enjoyed being in such a beautiful place and the weather was mostly kind to us. Amazing to have the beach so close. Enjoyed meals at the Oystercatcher and explored a little further afield too. All was as advertised.
We felt very safe as everything had been deep cleaned prior to our arrival. We were really impressed that disinfectant had been left for our use, the owners were in touch with us informing us of road closures which was helpful. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last
We've a really enjoyable week at McHugh Cottage. It's a classic Scottish stone croft house, nicely converted into two holiday homes, with everything the two of us needed, including excellent wifi. Blissful cosy evenings by the open fire. Set in beautiful wild woodland, with a stream just in front, but amazingly few midges. Though it feels secluded from the world, it's a 3-min drive up a gravel track from the main road along Loch Fyne. The hamlet of St Catherine's is really just a scatter of houses along the road, including the guesthouse where the very friendly and helpful house managers live....more
I have stayed at this cottage a few times now and the location is excellent especially if you want to do some traveling around the area. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need, I would highly recommend this quaint cottage.
We have only recently in the last few years taken to renting cottages within the UK. Having looked deeply into the cottages within the Argyle area we chose Cedar Cottage. On arrival we were over the moon with the standard and cleanliness of the cottage it was exactly as the pictures displayed it on the website. The location was just off the main road but tranquil with a host of wildlife constantly in and out of the garden including red squirrels, woodpeckers and a range of finches and tits to keep us interested in a quiet moment when the weather was a little inclement. Pre-visit contact with ...more
Rosemount Loft is very close to the Western Ferries Terminal. Easily walkable although we had a car and parking at the property was ideal. Instructions given to access the property were clear. The accommodation is stylish and quirky and well set up for a relaxing break. Everything is there that you would need. The flat is very comfortable with a wonderful outlook onto the Clyde from the tower room and thoughtfully, an excellent pair of binoculars are there to watch life on the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend.

Beautiful location, lovely cottage; thoroughly enjoyed our holiday (34 more characters? What else can I say?)
The location of the house and facilities within make it an excellent choice for a large family group. We have already rebooked for next year ! The only aspect that lets the property down a bit is the condition of some of the furnishings in the lounge / dining room and the entrance hallway where the carpetting is bit past its best and is badly (not) fitted in some places. The bedrooms and bathrooms by contrast are fine. Also some of the 'information' notes around the house are rather out of date.....needs a bit of a sort out. Hope this feedback is seen as constructive.
My wife and I needed accommodation at short notice and the owner was very flexible about when we could check in and check out. Located very close to Hunters Quay ferry terminal it has an excellent location and good river views from the front garden. Good space.
We ve been to this house with family and friends six times over the last few years. The facilities are excellent and the kitchen is well stocked for seven people. We had a slight issue with the hot water supply which was immediately sorted out by the friendly and very helpful owner. The bedrooms were set up to our requirements beforehand. The house was extremely clean and well presented. We will be back soon.
A couple of very relaxing days spent at Glenbranter Cottage. Lovely surroundings, cosy accommodation. Exactly what we were after.
Very pleasant front garden area but unfortunately there is no indication from the photos and description about the close proximity of the properties behind Letters Lodge North. Strange to find personal items of clothing and footwear in the hanging area of the dining room. A very random selection of crockery/cutlery/glasses/cooking utensils and pans. No kitchen cleaner or washing up liquid provided. Strange and annoying intermittent banging noises from the locked owners cupboard in the third bedroom/upstairs living room.
Excellent accommodation, very clean, well appointed and superb location. Will be returning as soon as possible
Great location next to the village hotel and across from a small church. No mobile coverage at all (unless on EE) which was fine by us. Cottage appears to be post war pre-fab style construction, and has thin walls where sound travels (in case you have noisy children like me). Oil fired central heating worked great and the cottage was very cosy, we had to turn the temp down on arrival. Bedrooms are a good size and the cottage was clean and well kept, although a little tired. The grounds are a good size and well kept too, but we had no need to use them at this time of year (other than the childr...more
We had a great time, the area is really peaceful and very well cared for. The lodge its self was clean and welcoming The only disapointment was that Pucks Glen was closed We will be back
The apartment was spotless and well equipped. Very comfortable in every way and location overlooking loch was wonderful. Gill phoned to check everything ok on first day. We found this such a relaxing week for a perfect combination of coast and country with lovely walks from the door as well as day trips. Good local amenities too including cafes, pubs, hotels and shop. A lovely village and a great holiday home to which we would plan a return trip with no hesitation.
Stayed in Sept 2020 and felt the property handled the Covid measures well, we enjoyed a pleasant stay with family members and felt safe and comfortable. Nice facilities and lovely the open plan kitchen/living room and the views over the water. The property was well equiped and furnished. would recommend it as a lovely place to stay in Dunoon.
The apartment is part of a new build near the waterfront, and also close to the shopping streets. It was warm and comfortable, with plenty of facilities and equipment.
A lovely house with superb views. Large comfy lounge with views over the Clyde as is the master bedroom. Lovely to sit at in the morning and see red deer and squirrels. Pool table in hall was fun although a little restricted with the walls. The walk down the garden path to the shore is a little steep but once through the opening, steps take you to a road that leads to the shore, a great short cut from the main way up to the house. Lovely forest trail only about 100 yards from house and Toward is not too far away either with its Lighthouse. A perfect location for a quiet restful hol...more
Lovely apartment, great views from sitting room window over the Clyde Estuary. Quiet location, friendly hosts, beautiful town.
This is the second time we have rented this property. We love it.Its so cosy.Unfortubately both times when we have arrived the property has been cold and musty smelling. It takes a wee while to heat up.It would make such a difference to arrive to a warm apartment. This time the fridge was really smelly and so we had to give it a thorough clean before we our food in. But we do love this property and will use it again.
Second time I have stayed here. The view is spectacular and the location is stunning. The lodge is comfortable and well equipped. It would be a nice touch to have a welcome food pack with essentials. I am sure people must turn up not realising how far it is to the nearest shop! The booking process is efficient, friendly and helpful. Just hope they can all keep going in these uncertain times. Very happy to support them by holidaying here.
My family and I LOVED the cottage. Everything we needed was provided (very good utensils, cutlery etc), comfortable beds and fabulous location. I even swam in the conveniently close sea. Small village shop and pub within sight.
Teal Cottage is a pretty, very comfortable cottage with beautiful views of the loch and hills right from the lounge and kitchen windows. A great base for exploring Cowal, Kintyre and the surrounding areas with a whole variety of walks including coastal, mountains and glens. We had a wonderful stay here and received a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts. Highly recommended.
Myrtle bank villa, is spacious. Very well thought out for families, jigsaw puzzles, games, books, etc. We love staying there, as it is so welcoming and comfortable. It's lovely to sit and have breakfast overlooking the loch. If we went to Dunoon again, this is where we would stay. Tge only drawback is one of the beds has changed since our last visit, not very comfortable to sleep in, as it bows in the middle. Apart from that we would still stay again.
Well equipped cosy cottage located in a quiet small village. Log burner with fuel provided and electric radiators. Comfortable king sized bed. Comprehensive Covid measures in place. Within walking distance to Standing stones and Cairns. Close to National Cycle Route 78, easy cycling access to Kilmartin Glen and Crinan Canal. Nearest supermarket (Co-op) in Lochgilphead 8 miles away. Great take away cafe at Crinan Hotel.
Lovely house in beautiful Tighnabruaich- quiet and peaceful location near the boatyard. About mile walk into village along coast road. Rosie was extremely helpful and accommodating. Accommodation great for family.
Stayed at Enmore to celebrate a family 60th birthday and had a great time. Property was in a great location with sea views of the Clyde. Plenty room for all and house had been deep cleaned with fogging process by host Mark.
We were in Hunters Quay in pretty wild February weather. The ever changing views, from all the windows sometimes of blue sky and snow covered Luss hills sometimes of dark grey sky and sea in a blur of rain and squalls were very beautiful and a treat. In the afternoons the sunny conservatory with its view of the secluded garden was a great place for a cup of tea. The cottage is very easy to get to situated 5 minutes from the pier at Hunters Quay . The ferry service from Gourock runs three times an hour, starting early in the morning and running till late at night. In the evenings with the l...more
Fabulous spacious villa. Beautiful location/views. Super decking area with delightful hot tub. Couldn't have asked for anything more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A nice house near the centre of Dunoon. It has a large garden area which is great to relax in during the nicer weather. Rooms are spacious enough and all very comfortable.
Larch Cottage was wonderful! The cottage was cozy while still being spacious, the fire was great and gave off a lot of heat. We were welcomed with a beautiful basket of eggs, veg, milk, fruit and bread along with a handwritten note. The most incredible part is the view, with a large deck that gives you interrupted views across the water and to the mountains beyond.
A beautiful view from the window is the USP of this property. Could do with brightening up inside & maybe more comfortable furniture in the sitting room (weather was awful so we were inside more) Having said that it had everything we needed. No housekeeping notices though. Sleeps 4 adults is pushing it unless it is only a base for sleeping. The location is ideal- so central to the village. A well stocked shop close by & cafes & bars/ restaurants a short distance away. Locals very friendly & helpful.
We stayed here as a family of 4 (2 children aged 7 and 10) and mostly had a lovely time. The location on the loch is stunning and the cottage had a nice bit of character and a decent sized garden (shared with next door cottage). However, the beds were very uncomfortable and badly need replacing. We knew there would be road noise but along with uncomfortable beds this made for very disturbed sleep. There was a note from the cleaner to say that they were cleaning to high standards due to covid 19, however I felt the standard of cleaning could have been better, especially in the fridge. The only ...more
Had a fantastic time in Kames over the festive period the lodge was great for our stay with stunning views and log burner to keep us warm would use it again
Lovely restful break. The only noise being the stream at the front of the cottages. Small cottages, each with its own garden.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. The owner gave us lots of tips on places to go which was very useful.
Our main reason for hiring this property was the location, having stayed in other properties in Dunoon we expected a lot from this property but we were disappointed. There was no control for the heating, we tried turning radiators down but it didn’t do anything. Although the bed in the master bedroom was ok my daughter and grandson had to sleep on the floor as their beds were really uncomfortable. The bath in the main bathroom was cracked and the shower head clip did not hold the shower head in place.
Very comfortable stay with lovely views across the loch. The house was spotlessly clean and we felt very safe from the risk of covid 19. We spent the majority of our time in the conservatory, no need to use the other sitting rooms, so we could benefit from the views. The kitchen is well equipped (although we missed a coffee filter) and the tap on the kitchen sink is a bit wobbly! The 4 poster bed proved to be very comfortable and the children fed back their beds were comfortable too although the single rooms were a bit snug. The garden was a great sun trap and we sat out whenever the weather p...more
Spacious and comfortable lodge by the water's edge on Loch Fyne. It's a long way from shops etc on single track roads, but the scenery is stunning, and the nearby Oystercatcher pub/restaurant is excellent.
Well stocked unit. Beautiful view and excellent WiFi. The area is breathtaking and nice and quiet. Will definitely book again
Beautiful location, the cottage is in gorgeous setting. Could easily be 5 star however when we arrived the kitchen worktops had crumbs under toaster and things . The unit doors were dirty from food and needed cleaned. The table cloth was dirty. Dado rail in hall was covered in dust. The worst part was bedrooms are downstairs and the smell of damp was at times wafting up the hall , it was so off putting to sleep in. On the plus the bathroom was beautiful and clean. It just needs deep clean. It was disappointing and did affect how comfortable we felt. The owner was made aware but brushed it off...more
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
Fantastic location. Easy to pop over to Bute, Aran. Amazing walks from the house or locally on the coast. Every day a different view according to the weather. Great for makerel fishing on the local pier. Dinner every night if you want to. Property well equipped, good to have some puzzles for those rainy days.
Lovely stay .Very comfy ,specious lodge . Excellent location . Lodge has everything what we need and much more . Amaizing view through the window . Thanks Diane
Just had 5 days staying at number 3 Deercroft Hunters Quay. Great place to stay. We love Dunoon. This is the perfect place to stay. Great value for money, great location, very clean. Just beautiful. Didnt want to come home. Will definitely be returning.
Great accommodation would definitely recommend it. All facilities we needed. We found the drying room really useful when returning from outdoor activities. The owners were really helpful too when we had an enquiry.
Everything about The Ranch was fabulous. The owner, Dara, was super helpful before and during our stay, offering advice and tips about the local area as well as everything to do with the house. The location is simply stunning with a small river at the bottom of the garden and a river beach about 2 minutes walk away. There are countless gorgeous walks, waterfalls and beaches in the area. The Ranch itself is so comfortable and spacious. The beds are comfy, there are 3 bathrooms including a jacuzzi bath in the main bedroom ensuite. We are a family of 6 and The Ranch suited us perfectly. I'd...more
We stayed for a week in Bay Cottage. We didn't realise at the time of booking, that the cottage was set behind another house somewhat in the middle of gardens. We knew there was no private parking, only on street, but it was an extremely narrow street meaning having to park on the narrow kerb to allow other cars to get past. The walkway to get to the cottage was fairly rocky and uneven so make sure to take care. However, the cottage itself was lovely. The bathroom is very modern, the livingroom small but cosy. The kitchen was the biggest room in the house, super spacious with everything you ...more
Fisherman’s cottage is a comfortable cottage in a stunning location. Weather the weather is good or bad, the sea views can be enjoyed. The cottage is well equipped, and we made use of both the fire bowl in the garden and the wood burner in side. Fisherman’s cottage, because of it’s location is not obvious from the road, so some additional information in the directions would have been helpful. We were able to pull into the little lane to unpack, and parking on the road just along from the cottage was easy enough.
We had a short stay here recently - but the tranquility and peace of the cottage made it a very refreshing break! The views of the top of the Loch ( especially from upstairs) are gorgeous and it is fantastic to stop and listen to the silence, only broken by the occasional Oystercatcher. At night you can hear owls calling to each other and see the stars. It's not totally remote, but in fact is situated on the roadside in a great position where you can head off in different directions to explore different parts of Argyll. The cottage is warm and comfortable - it has enough things that you need...more
Yealand is in a great location but its a bit tired and old fashioned. Too many ornaments and personal items for a holiday home. Enjoyed the table tennis and darts. The views from the house are wonderful. Shame the garden furniture is so uncomfortable. The house is fine for a weekend but a longer stay could be pushing it. There is absolutely no mobile service so makes it difficult if there are any problems. On the plus side having no signal gives you the chance to switch off and relax.
We had a fabulous break at culzean house, the house has everything you need amd hottub and sauna was perfect to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our family included 7 children from 2 years old to 14 years and they all loved the large garden space. We enjoyed exploring the outdoors, enjoying lovely nearby walks and visiting the lochs. Norman the owner was A gentleman so welcoming and visited us often to check all was well even bringing the children sweets. Due to COVID the restaurants nearby were still closed or had restrictions therefore we were unable to use them however we were able to...more
Lovely lodge in stunning area, very well equipped and all the comforts of home. Ideal base for exploring the area. Red squirrels and deer in the area
Cannot express gratitude and thanks enough to Iain argyle lets and owner for accommodating us at short notice Your kindness is much appreciated The cottage was so homely and location stunning It was so lovely to be able to return and relax at end each day to this restful cosy place Perfect place for us thank you so much
Having a sore ankle, the steps were were not easy on coming down. A light was very much needed to get at the key. The bath could do with a non slip mat or rubber discs. The place soon warmed, with the heating on for about an hour.
Cosy cottage on Cowal Peninsula, close to great amenities and beautiful scenery. Dog friendly and lovely, quiet garden.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
We enjoyed our weekend away, however the lodge could have been cleaner in places - we had to hoover when we arrived and the beds and sofas could do with being replaced. The lodge was well equipped and had soap, hand sanitiser and washing up liquid which the other lodge we had booked didn't. The instructions for the lodge were excellent. The hot tub stopped working on the Sunday but a call to the maintenance man, who came out promptly and replaced the fuse, sorted it out. The information for the lodge on the website states it has a sauna - this is not correct and should be amended to ...more
No separate toilet contrary to the description. The dinner table was wobbly. We had to screw it back. The WiFi is really poor. The kitchen drawers & the kitchen hood were dirty. Not enough dishes. No replacement for the toaster when it broke down. But lovely situation near the loch & nice welcoming basket
The cottage was quirky, but in need of a make-over. The kitchen needs a deep clean. Because of its location I might recommend it to others.
