Cosy, spotless and ldeal location ! Picture perfect ! Thank you for a phenomenal stay! Best cabin we have stayed in at Lamont lodges and been coming for over twenty years ! Thank you so much hx
The property was lovely, very very comfortable, warm, well equipped. There were nice views from the decking, kitchen and lounge. A fire with logs left for us and a welcome pack - such welcome generosity and well appreciated. We would definitely return - a really lovely place.
A wonderful relaxed week in a stunning setting. Musselshell Lodge was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The living areas, the deck and the main double bedroom has sea views, so lovely to wake up to the views. An ideal location to explore the region or to just chill out. We loved the peaceful location, beach-combing and the nearby walks. We had a delicious lunch at the famous Inver restaurant in Strathlachlan, (30 mins away from lodge) the food was delicious and of a high standard – pre-booking is a must. The nearest store is 30 minutes away so make sure you stock up well. There i...more
Lodge was in fabulous condition on arrival. The views were beautiful and to get up in the morning to watch the deers and other wildlife sauntering around was a highlight. This was the restful break we needed and we would definitely return if we can in the future. The lodge had everything we required for our stay and would highly recommend. The weather was nice for an couple of days and not so great on others but we expected that. It’s the perfect getaway for a couple of days.
Lovely well kept cottage, beautiful view, very relaxing. Would recommend. Everything there too make your holiday memorable.
The ground floor apartment of the charming stone cottage is beautifully presented and affords a lovely view towards Bute. Lily was an excellent host. Location is ideal for exploring "Argyll's Secret Coast" and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
We spent a fantastic relaxing week in Argyle & Bute!! We’ve all loved staying in Strachur and have really enjoyed staying particularly at Kenmore! The house is a lovely spotlessly clean fantastically presented property. Thanks once again…… Stephen, David, Karyn, Lynne, Finlay, Ewan & Erica!!
Had a fabulous stay at Derryguaig . Lovely spacious rooms with amazing views. Great kitchen and conservatory for dining. Access to local shops and restaurants also easy. Welcome hamper from the host was a gorgeous surprise. Loved it all! Thanks Argyll self catering holidays, another great property on your site.
The location was stunning - looking down the loch westwards and towards the setting sun! It was also well placed for walks, ferries and tourist spots. it had a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Although the weather was a bit rainy at times, it didn't affect our holiday there are so many alternatives to hand. would definitely visit again.
This was our fourth visit to Ardenlee Lodge, and we couldn’t wait to get back - our first go to place since lockdown -er-locked us down! It’s a beautiful small property and Arthur and Stella have used every inch of space to complete advantage. It’s cosy but not cramped and it’s really lovely to sit at the table and watch the river Clyde flowing by. This time we witnessed 4 cruise ships, several tankers, as well as yachts and ferries. It’s an easy walk into Dunoon itself where you’ll find good eateries and cafes. As usual, Stella and Arthur left brilliant snacks and lovely wine- very welcome...more
As above- tucked away near the end of dead end road by the shore, gorgeous views. Apartment was clean, light, spacious, well appointed with for instance all the kitchen utensils you might need. Easy to walk to local bus service and to access walks and ferries.
We have been in a lot of large holiday homes over the years but Ardfyne was about the only one that had everything you could wish for.It was great to have sockets near mirrors to use hair dryers. The view was stunning and it was lovely to watch all the birds in the garden.Would recommend house to anyone.
Excellent high quality fully kitted out cottage, one of the best we have ever stayed at. Owners where really helpful with advice and local knowledge, even borrowed my Son a stunt tent to try out on the beach! Highly recommended 10/10.
Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location with a lovely hotel/pub just down the road and an excellent village store within walking distance. Perhaps not the best location for families with small children but if you want to walk in fabulous scenery or just to relax in beautiful surroundings it is perfect.
Fabulous, spotlessly clean, comfortable and attention to detail superb. Great for a family gathering and scenery just beautiful.
As above, no negatives at all a lovely holiday but irritated by dictatorial requests for reviews that even tell you how much you have to write
We had a lovely weekend at Gleneagles The bungalow was lovely and had everything we needed. Would happily recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting the area.
This was our 7th stay at The Waterside and as always it didn't disappoint us in anyway. Bruce was an amazing host and communication was brilliant. We should have been a group of 8 but ended up with only 2 of us due to restrictions. A quiet and relaxing week which was just what we needed and The Waterside allows you to unwind perfectly. The most amazing views which are as good as watching any television from all of the living area windows, as well as the bedrooms. Many, many thanks for a wonderful time....we have already booked the same week for next year!
A wonderful relaxing break at Gate Cottage. Lovely sea view and enjoyed the fire in the autumn evening. Loved the kitchen and seating area for relaxing in the morning.
A lovely cottage in a great location with great views, kitchen well equipped, beds very comfortable could do with instructions on how to use wood fire
Fantastic location, beautiful views. Excellent accommodation. Thank you Eileen and to Ian at Argyll self catering holidays.
Lovely apartment with fantastic views, great location. Well equipped and a lovely welcoming basket with goodies on arrival and info on local tourist attractions. Second bedroom probably more suitable for kids than adults but otherwise we loved the apartment and would stay again.
We had a lovely stay in Achranich. The property had everything we needed, was clean, checking in was extremely easy, which is ideal when you have children. The kitchen and facilities were excellent and we really felt we got good value. The property is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and just a short drive away from the Lochaline ferry to the Isle of Mull, which meant it was easy to have days out. Overall, very impressed, would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family!
We stayed for 8 days with our well behaved dog and found the flat to be extremely well equipped and comfortable, it literally had everything we needed and was of a very good quality. The property was very clean (except behind the double bed which was a little fluffy) and beautifully presented. We lit the wood burner a few nights which was cosy and could relax in the lounge. Parking was easy outside and we also had a few bbq’s on the decking overlooking the Loch. It was a fantastic location, ideal for exploring the west coast which we throughly enjoyed. Neighbours were friendly and we would re...more
Wonderful holiday in this very well-equipped and comfortable cottage in superb location. Why do I need to submit 13 more characters when I've said it all?
Lovely place to stay, immaculately clean and comfortable. Pleasure to stay, would return. Fabulous view, close to the loch.
Beautiful spacious property with all the facilities guests need. Ample parking and lovely garden Plenty of forest walks nearby but unfortunately need a car to reach them as main road too busy to walk along
Wow,, this place was perfect.. cleanliness and comfort was great.. little treat box we received on arrival so sweet. The children loved it. Definitely Value for money and we would love to return. The views of the Clyde from the bedrooms was beautiful. Only problem was parking but we soon got round it... Legs were very tired after lots of walks. Everyone around is very friendly. Highly recommend...
A lovely cosy cottage which gave us a lovely base for our holiday. Only a few minutes walk into Inveraray and stunning views from the cottage over the loch and mountains.Only slight negative is there is a road right outside which can be a little noisy but don't let that put you off, it is a perfect place to stay for a lovely relaxing break.
We had a very relaxing week ar Shelburne Lodge,so relaxing sitting watching the yachts and other vessels being past right outside your windows, ideal place to stay if you enjoy walking or bike riding, everyone is very friendly. The property is large and is steeped in history,I would without doubt stay again
We felt very safe as everything had been deep cleaned prior to our arrival. We were really impressed that disinfectant had been left for our use, the owners were in touch with us informing us of road closures which was helpful. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last
The house was very comfortable and well-equipped - obviously well-loved and maintained. Lots of personal touches, ornaments, etc. Garden was lovely, albeit one or two slightly wobbly steps up to the tables. Other than a couple of very small areas (dust on coathangers in wardrobe and also on nested perspex tables under TV), it was all very clean indeed - we felt very comfortable and at ease. The location across the road from the Crinan Canal was perfect for us - great for walks along the canal; also easy access to lots of great places including Knapdale, Kilmartin Glen, gardens at Arduaine and...more
Lodge was absolutely spectacular. Beautiful inside and out, everything inside you'd ever need. Stocked with DVDs, books, games, free WiFi. Owner extremely helpful by texting. Just brilliant holiday.
Rosemount Loft is very close to the Western Ferries Terminal. Easily walkable although we had a car and parking at the property was ideal. Instructions given to access the property were clear. The accommodation is stylish and quirky and well set up for a relaxing break. Everything is there that you would need. The flat is very comfortable with a wonderful outlook onto the Clyde from the tower room and thoughtfully, an excellent pair of binoculars are there to watch life on the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend.
We loved our stay at Glenbranter - beautiful walks from the door, red squirrels, amazing scenery, and very cosy accommodation …we would stay there again
We enjoyed our stay at Roselea Lodge. It was very well equipped, clean, comfortable and warm. We were surprised though how busy the road was that runs along the front of the lodge. This didn’t however stop us enjoying our stay.
Argyll Self Catering Holidays did an excellent job of sorting out our booking for a holiday in Dunoon, initially made for 2020. We were very grateful to them. Asten View came highly recommended by them and the apartment lived up to all expectations. It was very clean, comfortable and convenient with the added bonus of being on the waterfront.
I can’t recommend this highly enough, the accommodation was spot on, comfortable and well equipped, amazing views and lots of car park space - so great if you are all travelling from different locations. Couple of lamps needed new lightbulbs but that was a minor issue. Loved the private beach - we went wild swimming everyday (would recommend swim shoes though!)
This well equipped cottage provided a good base for exploring Argyll and Bute. The cottage is prettily decorated. TV, WiFi and kitchen equipment worked well and were easy to use. The lounge furniture was comfortable. Bedroom had good amount of storage for clothes and comfort wise the bed was fine for a week. The cottage is dog friendly with an enclosed garden. There are dogs living next door who enjoyed welcoming us back to the cottage. Not unreasonably the dog cannot be left unsupervised at the property or allowed on the furniture. You will need to bring dog bowls etc. I have mar...more
My wife and I needed accommodation at short notice and the owner was very flexible about when we could check in and check out. Located very close to Hunters Quay ferry terminal it has an excellent location and good river views from the front garden. Good space.
We had a wonderful time staying at Aldersyde, great space indoors and outside for all the family to enjoy and unwind.
Fully equipped, spacious upper floor flat with magnificent views up and down the Firth of Clyde. Ideal situation with a 10 min walk to town centre and supermarket. Excellent base to explore the scenery and outdoor activities in Argyll. 20 steep outside steps ok for us as adults. Will happily book again.
The cottage itself was certainly nice, but unfortunately, while the overall appearance was fine, facilities offered in the cottage were disappointing. In the Kitchen, there was no oven, just a microwave and an induction hob. We had brought food with us that we were therefore unable to cook and some of this subsequently had to be disposed of. We expected to eat out sometimes but not every day! Suggest removing microwave and replace with an oven/grill/microwave unit. There was no space provided for food at all. We had brought nearly all the food we anticipated needing but could only store th...more
Booking the cottage was straight forward and the directions easily followed. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities we required. The entrance to the cottage is extremely narrow for any family sized car. Widening/improving this access would make a great difference when coming and going from the property. We really enjoyed our stay, it was ideal for our dogs as they had freedom and safety. We would definitely recommend Tighnaheaglais Cottage to our friends and family
This is a lovely property in a beautiful village. It’s very peaceful, offers great views & the flat has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The lodge is comfortable and is in a great location. It has easy access to many woodland walks and is about 100yds from the Whistlefield Hotel. The surrounding area is very quiet, ideal for a break away from it all
We had a great week, the lodge was comfortable and well equipped, although would be a bit of a squash for 4 adults. The location was perfect, peaceful with great walks. We will visit again
Homely & comfortable apartment with a lovely view, beautifully kept garden, in a great location, definitely recommend
One of the best Scottish cottages we have stayed in with access to a private beach and beach hut … perfectly situated
Really beautiful place and the lodge was comfortable and well equipped. We had a great holiday although there were one or two things missing that you sometimes get in holiday homes - like kitchen cloths, soap and shower gel. But overall a very positive experience.
Cottage very comfortable and gardens lovely with great views. Hosts considerate and helpful. Wildlife on your doorstep and lots to explore.
A lovely dog friendly lodge which was clean and well equipped with lots of walks round about. Right on the beach with beautiful dark skies. Would definitely go back.
Cobwebs, gardens untidy weeds etc. Beds uncomfortable. Location was ok neighbours friendly. Priced to high for what you get.
No issues , well eqipped and comfortable Steep and slippery back garden not suitable for most people But you can sit out the front We had a 3 hour power cut in the evening So provison of a torch and candles in case of this would have been usueful
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more
Nice comfortable cottage lovely views very peaceful location nice welcome pack good communication before we got there all Covid covered would recommend to anyone ale home very relaxed
Wow what can I say we were all blown away with the location upon arrival. The house is just so beautiful we spent a very comfortable stay here, what a gem of a find! have to say although there is two lounges we spent all our time in the conservatory as what a view!! also waking up to the view in the morning from the bedrooms, very comfortable beds in each room. The house itself has everything you need for a perfect stay, Loved the fact there was an iron and board as saved me from doing the big iron before holidays! we loved sitting out in an evening around the chiminea fire under the stars. ...more
Thank you for a nice week in your very comfortable cottage. My only comment would be when we hoovered before leaving the hoover spat a lot of stones out when turned on, it also didn't appear to suck very well! I think the carpet might have been better before I tried!
The house scored ten out of ten for the fantastic water views. We enjoyed seeing porpoises, as well as the constant panorama of ferries and boats crossing the water. The house also scores highly for the sheer space available - great for a multigenerational holiday. Other plus points are the easy parking, the handy village shop around the corner and the good facilities in Dunoon. The walk along the promenade into Dunoon was accessible and pleasant. Although we didn’t make use of them, the property is on.a direct bus route as well as close to the ferry, and you could have a car free holiday here...more
We booked the lodge before lockdown ended and we were assured that if descriptions meant we couldn’t go we didn’t need to worry which was very reassuring. We drove up to the lodge and didn’t stop smiling for the rest of the week. It was well presented, clean and comfortable. The kids picked their rooms and we unpacked. Straight away we noticed the finches and red squirrels right outside the lounge window.... I personally had never seen a red squirrel before! We set out to pucks glen which is literally on the doorstep, we had a little walk around there was a diversion in place however it was st...more
A lovely spacious cottage near the loch. A road at the front which was not busy . There are 3 red squirrels near by, but only saw one fleetingly. Plenty of garden birds. A quiet and peaceful situation.
Fabulous house with a view. Would have liked somewhere to put clothes in main bedroom. There was no where to put clothes as no chest of drawers and had to keep everything in suitcase. For a house of this standard think it’s unacceptable. Also only one hand towel in each bathroom for a week, again not sufficient. Would expect to change towels on a more regular basis. Elaine the owner was helpful and arranged taxi for us to take us to local restaurant. Elspeth the taxi driver was excellent.
Very enjoyable stay. Location superb. Cottage very well prepared and presented. Kitchen well equipped. A large decked balcony with stunning views below, additionally a small orchard within the property grounds supplying excellent apple crumbles were the winning combinations for us. However, I must add 2 comments:- Both bedrooms were very comfortable and clean but there was a feeling of dampness (no odour) regarding their location to the bottom of the property with higher gardens behind. This continued despite electrical heating provided. Although the bathroom was immaculate, the shower st...more
Used to stay here many a time when last owner had it, we described it before as rustic and although basic, we enjoyed it as Hunters Quay holds great memories for our Family. Fast forward to Oct 2021 and we book again as part of my Mums 80th,new owners, practically new lodge! Great reclining sofas and single seat which is SO comfy, lovely walk in shower/bathroom. Nice fresh trebdy bedding.. All together a much improved stay at a great price! Had a few tiny "issues", and I mean tiny but obv have to report, the text from Michelle was delay with swiftly, politely and informativley.. Such a nice p...more
The house and location were great. The view is amazing. The accommodation is well equipped and spacious. The disappointment was the overgrown garden. The bushes had overgrown the path and the hedges needed clipped. Spoiled the view. Not like the photo. Otherwise an ideal base.
Good location, spacious and hot tub was a bonus. Felt the standard of cleanliness was not up to standard. Had to clean toilet pan in en-suite before use. Had to remove several estsblished cobwebs from corners of rooms which had spiders in them. Felt fridge was not adequate size for house that accommodates up to 10 people. Nice house but could do with a little tlc. Good price.
Our main reason for hiring this property was the location, having stayed in other properties in Dunoon we expected a lot from this property but we were disappointed. There was no control for the heating, we tried turning radiators down but it didn’t do anything. Although the bed in the master bedroom was ok my daughter and grandson had to sleep on the floor as their beds were really uncomfortable. The bath in the main bathroom was cracked and the shower head clip did not hold the shower head in place.
The accomodation was as described in the booking information and everything we needed was provided in the lodge. There were a couple of defunct light bulbs in the kitchen which Tristan came and replaced promptly following a phone call. The best feature of the lodge was it's location with superb views of the Loch, plenty of wildlife to watch and very peaceful. Some comments in the visitor book made reference to a need for a refurbishment of the lodge as decor and fittings were rather tired. We would concur with thiose remarks and in addition we found the heating system (particularly the hi...more
The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area. It suited all our needs. The steep stairs may be a challenge for elderly people, but it is in an ideal location for relaxation. The host was very friendly and helpful with lots of useful local knowledge.
Superb location, view and comfy bed. This property was fine for 2 of us but ground floor area would be too small for any more people to be comfortable. It would be helpful if a cupboard or shelf could be cleared to enable own food storage. Cooker and fridge could be upgraded. Description needs to point out that the garden is shared. Location instructions for arrival are poor. You have to find the house on the busy road and then enter house to find parking instructions, which are also unclear. Information pack could give info on nearest doctor /hospital etc if needed.
We were very pleased with our stay in the Dolphin Run, it is at the farthest end of the park so nice and quiet but still only at 15 min walk (with young kids) to the facilities and a private road for entry with car. It has been recently refurbished, comfy beds and sofa. Only thing missing was a toaster but friends had one in neighbouring lodge!
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
We stayed at the lodge and found it to be a wonderful holiday, close to everything you might need with incredible views and wildlife. We will definitely be returning to this amazing place
Fantastic location. Easy to pop over to Bute, Aran. Amazing walks from the house or locally on the coast. Every day a different view according to the weather. Great for makerel fishing on the local pier. Dinner every night if you want to. Property well equipped, good to have some puzzles for those rainy days.
Everything about The Ranch was fabulous. The owner, Dara, was super helpful before and during our stay, offering advice and tips about the local area as well as everything to do with the house. The location is simply stunning with a small river at the bottom of the garden and a river beach about 2 minutes walk away. There are countless gorgeous walks, waterfalls and beaches in the area. The Ranch itself is so comfortable and spacious. The beds are comfy, there are 3 bathrooms including a jacuzzi bath in the main bedroom ensuite. We are a family of 6 and The Ranch suited us perfectly. I'd...more
We had a lovely quiet stay in. beautifully situated log cabin . The facilities we’re home from home, hot tub to die for as we sat in the early mornings and the evenings looking out onto the water. This little 2 bed room cabin was although not the most modern, it was spotlessly clean, and sat away from the main area which for us looking for some quiet time was wonderful. The local walks are lovely we saw several deers and their fawns and some red squirrels. When leaving a piece of favoured clothing behind and informing the owner, they straight away forwarded the item on to us with no...more
Had a great stay. Lovely cottage with stunning views. Great base to explore surrounding areas. Would recommend
We loved our stay again at connas cottage.perfect location for relaxing..made very welcome by Wilma.would def recommend and will stay again.bed amazing and so comfy..Best sleep in ages...
We had a lovely two week stay, the owner was very attentive and even bought us cream cakes! The house is in a lovely setting and the garden is lovely and big. The hot tub was lovely after a day out. The house was very clean and felt very homely. Sadly some of the beds were hard and lumpy and could do with replacing and the downstairs shower in the twin room is very tiny and difficult to get in for someone slightly oversized. The house could do with additional living space, only one lounge area and if the house was at full capacity there wouldn’t be enough space for everyone. Just needs a li...more
On arrival the kitchen had brown sauce (?) and sticky marks on 2 wall unit doors, crumbs from last guests in fridge and toaster, an unbelievably (needs professionally cleaned) filthy, greasy oven (as were oven trays), (when I eventually used it blue smoke emanated out of it...never seen anything like it). Old half empty food packets from previous guests in a wall unit. Also the kitchen "tidy" held some fairy liquid, a used "white" now grey cloth, a used green scourer and a used dirty face mask!! (what pandemic)?? Kettle unusable due to thick white residue presumably from area having hard wate...more
For a peaceful, comfortable and scenic getaway, you need look no further! The views are stunning. The cottage is comfortable and welcoming and the owners are very helpful if required. There are short ferry trips to be had to Bute (another gem) and Tarbert is good for a day trip. We would definitely recommend this property.
Family of 4 from London visiting Scotland for first time. Argyll cottage rental and Rowan cottage owners supplied excellent directions, information and instructions for our stay. We found it easily and ate at a number of recommended local pubs and cafes. The cottage is located on a hillside with beautiful panoramic views over Loch Long. Kids loved nearby grazing sheep and huge variety of bird life. Cottage was very well equipped. Comfortable beds gave good night's sleep, large sofas for TV , kitchen had everything needed and we cooked a couple of nights. Outdoor seating on patio was much apprec...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Woodend Cottage. The location was great and our dogs absolutely loved the many walks nearby. I would highly recommend Sheila's Dinner which is only a 5 minute walk from cottage and serves great quality home made meals. Nothing fancy just good food. First time visiting Argyll and Bute and what a lovely part of the country. If your a golfer then Innellan GC well worth a visit, it is a tricky 9 hole track with postage stamp greens and is in great condition. £13 for 9 holes or £15 for 18 which is great value. A bit of a hidden gem.
A welcome pack with essential groceries was waiting for us upon arrival. Very kind. I would use this property again but i would request a thorough cleaning. The standard needs to be better.
Arthur's Seat on the edge of the loch near Dunoon is a lovely spot. There is an expansive view of the water from the main window and the sunny garden and you can watch the boats coming and going, including the odd cruise ship, and if you're lucky you might spot dolphins and seals. The 58 steps up to the property are not too bad. It's a good idea to pack a number of small bags for carrying up the steps rather than one large case. The accommodation is comfortable and clean with lots of space in the living area. It is very peaceful and a great place to relax. The kitchen is compact and would b...more
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
Comfortable and well equipped apart from no teapot. Great view from elevated stage In living room. Thoughtful touches such as apron provided. No local info and nothing about recycling.
The cottage is in a relatively good location, a quiet corner of a sheep farm but within walking distance to amenities including a great pub and restaurant. The cottage was not very clean and smelt damp, there were crumbs and ants in some kitchen drawers, rubbish under a couch, many utensils were dirty, the kitchen floor had mucky foot prints.... however the sheets and towels were clean which was the main thing. The whole cottage inside and out needed painting, the perimeter fence was falling apart which meant sheep were often in the garden and their poo was everywhere, therefore dangerous f...more
