I spent a full week at the Weatheroak Studio Annex while I explored the Cowal Peninsula by bus. The studio flat is small but perfect for a single person or a couple - it has everything you need for your stay: a TV and two armchairs, a small kitchenette, a comfortable double bed and a good shower in the en suite plus the use of the back garden of the main house - a big plus in sunny weather. The annex is tucked away in a very peaceful location down a lane off a side street in Dunoon - the town centre, bus stops and Bishop's Glen are all within an easy walking distance. The owner was very welcom...more
We had a lovely stay here and honestly couldn’t fault it. The location is excellent – really peaceful and perfect if you’re looking to relax. It’s right by the shore which was ideal for walks, and it’s only a short trip into Rothesay where you’ll find the main shops, cafés and everything you need. The views from the windows were absolutely stunning. Looking straight out to the sea, it was lovely watching the ferries and boats passing by. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived, the kitchen was really well equipped with everything you could need. All the essentials were there (even th...more
Rae and Justin provided a beautiful, clean and practical accommodation and were very responsive and helpful hosts. Highly recommend staying at Coorie Braw!
Stayed the week here with family and friends, couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. The location and stunning views were just beautiful. All the facilities in the house were faultless. We will deffo recommend in the future :)
Came back to this flat for second time as it had everything you need. There’s been a few changes made to it ie. new walk in shower which I think makes it more adult friendly. The stairs when you walk in the close are a bit tired and daunting to take suitcases up but still manageable. I had a chat with a couple of the neighbours and they’re really friendly. The location is perfect. All in all I’d stay here no problem again in the future as my wife and I really enjoyed our stay again.
We stayed here for a week and it was such a lovely cottage. Great base for travelling around the area and amazing views. The fire and the mirror are a fab addition, as are all the added extras. We will definitely be back!!
Lovely, welcoming holiday home that feels like your own place. Location perfect for the village and access to the pier.
We stayed at Fyne Rooms while walking the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way. The location was excellent and the room was very comfortable and clean. Our host was very friendly and we had everything we needed!
We have just returned from a truly relaxing, memorable stay at Seal Cove Cabin. Stunning views, cosy cabin, everything you might need, with lovely Louisa on hand for any questions. We loved having our own private little beach to sit on and look out for wildlife. We saw seals and we're pretty sure a couple of otters too. Highly recommend, our little dog loved it too!
A nice quiet place, very comfortable beds and a good shower. Great breakfast at the cafe across the road.
This was my first stay at Kevington Cottage. I immediately loved the place and spent every morning in the conservatory overlooking the private garden. The garden was also worthy of a daily walkabout. We took advantage of the nearby bus stop and traveled to a couple of fishing spots. The ferry terminal was also just around the corner. Dunoon’s stores for essentials, shops, restaurants and pubs were a quick cab or bus ride. Or if you have time, a longer stroll along the waterfront. I highly recommend the cottage. The owners are also very accommodating and I look forward to another vis...more
Excellent house, which was used as a base to explore the area. We had very good weather more or less when we were there (mid-May 23 for a week), which helps. Not many midges about! The house was clean and comfortable with large kitchen area and dining area with two of all major white goods (two ovens, fridges, microwaves etc.). Red squirrel watched us each breakfast most mornings. Three (very) large bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, which we used (we were a party of three couples). One bedroom downstairs with separate bathroom and I believe the house can accommodate up to ten. The v...more
Had a wonderful stay here.Lovely family house which has everything you need and more.We had a 10 month old baby with us and it was perfect for him too .Host was very helpful .Totally recommend it .
Me and four friends stayed at Raj’s awesome Fyne Rooms as a night stop over on our five ferries cycle weekend. Arrived late and soaked - the lovely rooms were a Godsend! Also, Raj lent us the use of small shed to lock our bikes up. Also despite being fully booked up & really busy, Raj and his lovely team Nathan & Tabby(?) cooked us some really tasty pakora and nan wraps. I would not hesitate recommending. Thank you guys, Tony
We wanted a restful holiday, somewhere to enjoy beautiful scenery and celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary! Seal Point Cabin was perfect! The views were wonderful, peace and quiet a plenty and Louisa, the host was fantastic - wonderful welcome and fab recommendations for the local area!! The cabin was beautiful, clean and comfortable - had everything we needed and was just what we wanted - cannot recommend enough!
We had a wonderful stay at Greenlea in Strachur. The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday, and the most beautiful view of Loch Fyne was simply stunning. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The only slight negative was the road outside, as you could hear some lorries passing early in the morning. However, this was a minor issue and everything else about our stay was perfect, more than making up for it. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Greenlea and would happily stay again. A lovely, relaxing accommodation with an ...more
This is my 2nd stay at Blairlagan and again the lodge was just perfect. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped, beds very comfortable. Great communication from Liz prior to and after arrival. Highly recommend the lodge and will be back
Flat was clean, comfortable, warm and well-equipped. Location good, response to a small problem quick, efficient and friendly.
First impression was a light and airy feel to the apartment. Every room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for us to self cater in the kitchen and entertain in the sitting room with games and jigsaws for rainy days. The apartment was on the first floor with stunning views across of the Kyles of Bute and beyond, and even binoculars to look at the otter and porpoises that we spotted from the window! Walking along to Tighnabuiach village was an easy 20 mins on the flat seaside road, with access to shops, cafes and an Indian restaurant. Fyne Raja was excellent if you like...more
We had a most enjoyable stay in the height of comfort. Nothing had been missed - even Christmas decorations . The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and warm and welcoming in the height of winter. The view was outstanding as was the weather.
We had a lovely stay with our dog. The grounds were great for walking a young dog and Heronlea was perfectly placed for getting about the area. Our hosts, Kevin and Kate couldn’t be more welcoming and thoughtful. We will be back!
Beautiful house in super quiet location. The photos don't do it full justice. We would love to come back.
Coorie Doon was a fabulous cottage, kitted out to a very high standard. The location on the canal was first class. Would recommend and return again.
We stayed four nights here and it was a lovely comfortable base for exploring the area. Rock Art literally behind the cottage. Drove to Oban and did 2 hour bay boat trip, saw porpoises and seal. More rock art and standing stones all around and museum very good. Had everything needed for a homely stay.
This property is just superb, colourful and radiant, it catered for all our needs and more in great style, everything is top quality & well thought out, suitable for young and old, it's impressive, immaculate and well maintained since our last stay here 2 years ago with absolutely no faults. Seeing the Lambs in the adjacent field is always a bonus. I can't imagine you'd find anywhere better, a truely charming property.
Staying this close to a one of my besties made a change! Perfectly placed for where I took my bike for a couple of solo rides (first time taking the bike on holiday - finally forked out for the appropriate tow-bar bike rack!). Very well presented property, with plenty of parking. Bigger than where I would normally stay, but loved the location - peaceful, yet close to amenities. Comfortable bed. Epic water pressure in the ensuite shower! I'd highly recommend this property to anyone.
I’m a returning customer to this beautiful apartment. It’s fresh, light and spotlessly clean. It’s a real home from home being so well equipped and comfortable. The view and light in the front rooms of the water is simply stunning!
We had a wonderful stay at Dunoon. The cottage was as stated with everything you need to have a great holiday. Clean, good towels and plenty of storage in freezer and cupboards. If I could make one suggestion it would be to install some grap handles/rails to get in and out of the shower as the bath sides are relatively high and older people would struggle. Thanks a lot we will be back.
Fantastic. We love coming to this cottage. Always enjoy our stay. Owner Lil always makes us feel welcome and will do anything she can to help if you need it.
Friendly, competitive, clean and comfortable. And the bonus is the Fyne Raja Restaurant nearby, for a fantastic curry. Second stay there and I’m sure I’ll be back again.
Disappointed that reading a review from July 2025 about gates not secure, this issue had not been addressed! We could not let our dog out to run freely in the garden because the garden was insecure, when we tried to close the gates, the whole front fencing wobbled& was very unstable! The owners obviously knew this because one gate was tie wrapped & one tied to a marine buoy!! The outside of the cottage needed a good lick of paint, bit grubby looking as we pulled up !!! I did need to clean the front patio doors so we could see out! In addition the shower cubicle was failing to drain, resolved...more
We really enjoyed staying at Cairnbaan House and very much appreciated its location and its special atmosphere. Such a comfortable, peaceful place with much to do in the vicinity. We wish we could have stayed longer. If we come back to this fascinating area, we certainly will come back to this lovely cottage.
This was a hi-tec cottage delivering all you could need bar the weather! The owners have thought of everything and the specification of all the equipment of a very high standard. They all worked too even if it took the seniors time to master them.Only challenge manouvering the entrance to the parking at the back of the cottage. The roomy dining and lounge afeas allowed all our family to gather for meals in the evening which really made the holiday.
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
We (2 families) stayed a week in this really nice and cozy accomodation. We found everything we needed, the kitchen was really well equipped, the 3 bathroomes were new and very nice. The furnishings of the rooms are really great, we really felt at home in this house. The surrounding is exceptional and nice quite and every day we enjoyed the view to the ocean. There was a small problem with the shower at the start, but the caretaker took immediately care of it. We would come back any Time.
Lovely lodge ,beautiful views, peaceful home from home .has everything you need ,looking forward to go back again soon
Had a lovely time here, beautiful location and loved having the log fire and being so close to red squirrels and birds. Close enough to dunoon for shops and restaurants, but also right next to Pucks Glen and Benmore Botanic gardens. Would highly recommend Ard Darach Lodge.
Excellent accommodation. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The only drawback is the three flights of stairs so you need to have good mobility to stay here. Good value for money.
The cottage was situated beautiful views no concerns maybe just 1 day when the grass cutting was getting done as it was raining and the nxt day was going to be bright and sunny its just common sense when they gardener could have came that day as clumps of grass [wet] getting dragged into house but other than that very quiet and peaceful
A fantastic house in a brilliant location. We had a lovely weekend at Aldersyde last weekend. The house is so comfortable, its like a home from home. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, living room is lovely and cosy, bathrooms are gorgeous and the games room was great. The kitchen and utility have everything you need and there is so much fridge space. Loads of crockery and glassware and plastic glasses for outside. The deck area is spacious and comfortable and the views there are spectacular. The hot tub was great too. Cannot wait to return here, was such a relaxing and fun weekend
Excellent location, very well equipped, spacious, this is a great base for a family holiday. Plenty of bathrooms, large shared areas, terrace and beach …and beautiful views.
Janeville is in a perfect spot with lovely views over Loch Fyne. The host was very welcoming, popping in shortly after our arrival. Walks or cycles along the canal are highly recommended. Nearby, Lochgilphead has all amenities you would need.
Peaceful and atmospheric location by the sea and all you could need for drawing and paining in the studio. A wonderful place!
We stayed at the Burnside property for 4 nights during our family visit to Tighnabruaich. The accommodation suited our needs perfectly as we had 3 generations ranging from the age of 19 to 84 sharing the apartment. The apartment was clean, tidy and stylishly furnished with added homely touches. The beds were comfortable and clean and the bed linen and towels provided were immaculate. The location was ideal and just a short walk to all of the local amenities including a well stocked supermarket and cafes serving delicious home baking. The view from the property was simply stunning an...more
Kames and the property are ideal for cycling and kayaking. Views from inside are limited but outside chairs are comfortable. Limited storage and small fridge but clean and comfortable with lots of great eating places not far away.
Stunning views after you tackle the steep steps up to the cottage . Every facility you could need is catered for in the cottage so a very good find and worth a visit .
A great spot with lots with lots of options for walks and trips. We swam in the river and eatched the bats leave the attic just after sunset. Well equipped cottage!
We stayed a week at Rhoda's Cottage end of May 2026. It was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. Part of a grand house with gardens on the edge of a sea loch. It is comfortable, well decorated, full of style and on the edge of a tranquill sea loch. Very friendly staff of the house made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.
Stayed here to vist family lovely cottage , felt could been blinds at windows living room draw night very open , our peace was desturbed by upstairs hammering , banging an drilling on fri an sat , overall wauld stay here again hopefully be peaceful, I also feel some logs could been provided no just show , clean an comfortable cottage .loverly viwes also no outside lights .
Great cottage, equipped to a very high standard. Everything beautifully thought out so that your stay is extremely comfortable and relaxing. A beautiful home from home.
We were disappointed that there was no welcome pack, not even a teabag. The location is wonderful, but for the money paid, cleanliness wasn’t great. The dishwasher hadn’t been completely emptied, cobwebs visible, sofa corners - not pleasant & log basket wasn’t full for our first cold night indoors. The downstairs shower leaked water all over the floor under the glass side panel. But the house is lovely - just a bit more TLC.
Nice, quiet location with sea view across the loch and well equipped. Some simple maintenance is required to fix the outside lights as the the path and steps are dangerous in the dark, also the shower doors.
This property is advertised with private parking but there isn't any. You need to park out of sight on the street and access the property down an alleyway and across a neighbours yard, which is littered with debris. I advised Argyll Self Catering of the error in the listing but 6 weeks later this has still not been rectified.
An excellent holiday destination with excellent views of the Clyde. The house is distinctive, and `quirky`, stylish but requires some attention to detail as regards the entrance way and approach to the house (first impressions do count). Main lounge with amazing views is let down somewhat by `student accommodation` quality furniture. The owner was most helpful when it came to resolving a couple of issues we had, friendly and supportive, as were Argyll Holidays. So, overall, an interesting holiday choice, ideally located to travel around the west coast and close to each of the major ferries to ...more
This is a charming little holiday cottage set in the middle of a forest. We have really enjoyed our 3 night stay here as it was so quiet and peaceful we counted less than six cars passing each day mainly just walkers out enjoying the fantastic woodland. The cottage itself had a good sized shower and a recently fitted kitchen which isn’t shown in the holiday cottage photos. There is also a very nice well kept garden to the side of the cottage with ample off road parking. We would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere really quiet with nothing else to listen to other tha...more
We are returning customers in Dunoon, as we periodically work in the area. The accommodation is well equipped with all you need when you are away from home. Nice place to have a good rest and to explore the beautiful natural surroundings.
We had a very enjoyable three nights at Newton Cottage South. Excellent location and very comfortable accommodation.
Had a great break and apartment spacious and very clean. Would only say can do with upgrading as seating not very comfortable after an hour or so. Pillows same, beds not too comfy, to our preference. Flat was quite central, and our host amazing at communication and so helpful. Wouldn't hesitate in staying again as terrific big flat.
Gorgeous view across Loch Long, peaceful location and the cottages nicely spaced so you feel alone. Beds comfortable and log burner so great nights in front of the fire. I would only add the condiments are in sachets so we bought our own olive oil and butter from a local supermarket in Dunoon, so if you like to cook you might want to bring some items with you. Definitely will return.
A lovely log cabin in a lovely setting . My thoughts are that it would suit two adults comfortably. We were 3 adults and for example the settee easily seated 2 . With 3 it was too close together , for us anyway . We found all the notices of ‘don’t do this or that ‘ a bit unwelcoming and we have stayed in log cabins many times before . And in fact left Iona cabin to go to one on the Ardnamurchan! It was fine for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay as we are nature lovers and photographers!
There was a very damp and musty smell in the hall and bathroom. The vegetation surrounding the cabin was overgrown so the outside felt oppressive rather than having a clear view of the Loch as per the advertisement. The wall glazing needs cleaning. The owner kindly supplies a huge amount of logs stored outside. Half of them disappeared during our stay which made us feel insecure as we felt it may be a local resident. ( Not really anyone else passing) Despite all this, the cabin was warm, extremely comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen, and we loved walking around and down to the ...more
First time we stayed here and won’t be the last ! Already rebooked The apartment is close for everything you need - town- pubs- shops - Morrisons - views - ferries you name it ! Right on the front with spectacular views over the waters and the elevated platform in the bay view window with seats and binoculars is an added bonus for checking out the wildlife. A well equipped kitchen with a great cooker and lots of pans and crockery- but - i would recommend bringing a casserole dish though as I couldn’t find one The garden is beautiful too
We arrived at Teal Cottage and were so pleasantly surprised with the cottage & the outlook also the private drive and surroundings Andrew popped round to make sure everything was perfect also welcomed us to his stunning cottage we had the most relaxed 2 weeks in the cottage and the location was absolutely spot on Andrew thank you for Allowing us to spend time in your Amazing cottage also the cottage is so very well appointed and has everything you’ll need and we will definitely be back also anyone looking for rest recuperation and just to chill read a book or explore the beautiful Argyle secre...more
Lovely peaceful setting and has everything you need. Only minor issues we had was bedroom was lovely but not much room to move and shower was a bit temperamental and was sometimes a problem to regulate but nothing a bit of patience didnt sort. Unfortunately we never got to use the hot tub due to swarms of midges which was just one of them things. Overall if your looking for peace and quiet its great and recommend feeding the birds as there is a bird feeder. Was lovely to watch and had a red squirrel visiting most days. Only 20 minutes from Dunoon and recommend the Lorne for food but its advisa...more
There are a number of steps to negotiate (so not ideal if you have mobility issues), but this only enhances the view you get from the property which is wonderful. Beds are very comfortable and there is a great downstairs shower. Nice couple of local pubs serving good food.
A beautiful view from the window is the USP of this property. Could do with brightening up inside & maybe more comfortable furniture in the sitting room (weather was awful so we were inside more) Having said that it had everything we needed. No housekeeping notices though. Sleeps 4 adults is pushing it unless it is only a base for sleeping. The location is ideal- so central to the village. A well stocked shop close by & cafes & bars/ restaurants a short distance away. Locals very friendly & helpful.
A very beautiful, cozy place to stay. I have no complaints. Although the weather wasn't on our side, we still really enjoyed Scotland.
Spent a very enjoyable August week at Shellduck. We were a three-generation family group of six people, and the cottage could have ben designed for us: a comfortable double or twin room for each generation. There is also a sofa bed, so you could get 7 or 8 in there if you could stand each other! The comfortable kitchen table and the L-shaped sitting room allowed many family conversations, and we threw a party with 17 guests one afternoon no problem: we took advantage of the honesty-box venison steaks and the barbecue for this, too. Shellduck is not your IKEA-furnished, sterile Air B&B: It has ...more
This is quirky accommodation in a lovely location which has seen better days. Kitchen is a challenge if you want to cook because the electric oven is overly complicated to use, on the gas hob all the rings don't work and those that do can cut out and the battery in the scales, which didn't work on a previous visit, still hasn't been replaced.
The cabin is in a good, quiet location on the village with a good view. Easy self check-in. Cabin nicely furnished and very clean. Comfy beds ensured a good nights sleep. Close to local facilities in Dunoon and plenty to see in the surrounding area. I would suggest you take your own towels. Our second visit.
The setting could not be bettered for a quiet and beautiful getaway. The kitchen is well equipped. The log supply was very generous as due to the weather we used on a few evenings. A few things require attention. An unseen Split in a Perspex dining chair caused an injury while in use. We left a note so that this could be picked up quickly. Sliding patio doors in sitting room almost need two people to operate as very heavy and hard to slide. The en suite sink in main bedroom requires a plug. These were the only three things that we felt would have improved our stay. The lodge offers a comfort...more
Musselshell is a lovely lodge in a great location, overlooking Loch Fyne. Warm & cosy with comfortable sofas and beds - a little tired in places but met our needs. Views from the lodge are wonderful & the large estate grounds are interesting to wander through. We fed and really enjoyed watching the woodland birds on the decking. Saw lots of seabirds on the loch too. We fished on a couple of evenings and took late night walks along the estate roads, looking and listening out for wildlife, also caught footage of a badger in the garden on our trail camera, having put out some peanuts to see what...more
A wonderfully comfortable and luxurious house in a stunning location. Lots to do in the local area. Highly recommended!
I stayed at Culzean House with my family (8 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs). The rooms were great; clean and comfortable. The location worked well for us. Some nearby, nice places such as Ardentinny beach and Lock Eck. We were also a short drive away from some nice cafes. We weren’t so lucky with the weather but we still had a great time and got some use out of the hot tub. I would love to stay here again, Chris.
Lodge was basic but in need of upgrading in some areas and a deeper clean, especially the kitchen area
This was our second visit to the cottage and we enjoyed another glorious 5 days. The cottage has everything needed for a relaxing stay. Ideally located for exploring the area, our highlight this time was Ostel beach.
We found Alder Cottage situated in a very scenic spot, however our first impressions of the cleanliness was very disappointing. On arrival we entered the cottage and as the light was fading I turned on both floor lamps either side of the fireplace., unfortunately they both were full of cobwebs and dust, the lights on the wall above the fire were also full of cobwebs. The 2 sofas in the living room obviously had not been hoovered as there were a load of crumbs and food under the cushions. The first morning we went to make breakfast, I lifted the frying pan out only to feel grease on the base ...more
Had a lovely week in Larch Cottage Fantastic location overlooking the loch and so quiet. Cottage had everything we needed although information folder could do with an update. Loved the wood burner.
We enjoyed a wonderful week at The Lookout. The property was modern well equipped and very comfortable. The views across the loch to the hills beyond are excellent. The only slight problem was the steps at the rear. My partner has arthritis and found these rather difficult.
The customer service we received has been amazing. The property was fantastic and the lads were definitely comfortable.
I am sorry to have to say the following. The decor of the cottage is very dated and worn. For example: the upholstery of the chairs of the dining room chairs is broken, the control knobs of the heaters are broken, window of the upstairs bedroom cannot be closed, the bath towels and kitchen linen are a little worn out. But there was a surprising welcome package with fresh eggs and delicacies.
Lovely lodge in stunning area, very well equipped and all the comforts of home. Ideal base for exploring the area. Red squirrels and deer in the area
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
