Room was clean comfortable and well-appointed. Raj and the staff were very pleasant and we had an excellent meal in the restaurant.
Very happy with our stay at Heronlea. Beautiful grounds and a lovely cottage. Good value for money.
Absolute best lodging of our trip. We decided to make our ferry journey to Islay as frictionless as possible and booked the lodge to have an extremely chill time enjoying the Kintyre Peninsula and not have to rush to the ferry in the morning. This lodge has a lot of rooms with comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms with excellent water pressure and enough space to turn around in. There are games and books to while away the time if you so choose. The kitchen is completely stocked with all manner of pans, pots and appliances to make everything a breeze. Although we had fewer people than ...more
The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, the garden and views are fantastic. Look forward to returning.
The best things about the room was the very large shower, large bed and the biscuits! It was quiet and peaceful.
The flat is in a great location in Tighnabruich easy access flat is very good it has all we needed and wanted for on our stay would highly recommend a visit
We had the most relaxing stay at Coorie Braw, so many Lovey touches, Rae and Justin have thought about everything, beds very super comfortable and the place was spotless!! Would highly recommend this place, we will definitely be returning.
Good, modern, and well equiped holiday Cottage. Central location for several Day trips. For example Büte, Oban and Inverary
This lodge is stunning. So peaceful, cosy, comfortable and caters for everything. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher is a great added bonus along with the wood burning stove. Designed to a very high standard with lovely bespoke pieces that just make this lodge different and well thought out. This was the second time in the last 2 months that I have been here. Myself, mum and 95 year old nana love it and it has a homely feel that my nana just loves. Before we even left the lodge the first time round I went on line and booked up for June next year. Upon arriving home, within a few days I had...more
We had an amazing, lovely holiday in Seal Cove Cabin. Louisa and Pete are brilliant, they could not be more helpful and the cabin is excellent. It is really well fitted out with everything you could possibly need, the bed was really comfortable as well. Each cabin has its own fire pit and outside table if you want have a barbecue. The views of the Loch are stunning, we were very lucky to have fantastic weather and spent lots of time on the beach, where another fire pit is located if you want a loch side barbecue. We loved everything about it. Emma their dog is lovely and friendly as well. We r...more
Kenmore is a spacious , well equipped house with spectacular views of Loch Fyne. The seating on the decking area at the front of the house is perfect for an early morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening to watch the spectacular sunsets. A short walk to the Creggans hotel and restaurant. The owners live next door and are welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended ..
Beautiful clean luxurious house. Had everything we needed. Very spacious and comfortable. Lovely garden and views. Highly recommended
This was just what we wanted: somewhere to stay a bit out from Dunoon Centre: preferably with a sea view. This property did just that in spades and was very well equipped, clean and with excellent service from the landlord. The price was good as well. If I was looking for somewhere convenient in the Dunoon area, I wouldn't hesitate to book this property.
We had an amazing stay at Derryguaig the property have everything you could need and more. The weather was kind to us and we had some nice sunshine which made the views over the Kyles of Bute even better! There was also a lovely welcome basket which was much appreciated especially by our Golden Retriever Riley when she realised there was also treats for her lol Would highly recommend
We absolutely loved our stay here from the warm welcome, the comfortable room, lovely meal in the restaurant downstairs and ease of check in/check out. The room had everything we needed and more - the complimentary mini bar/fridge was a real bonus and everything was fresh, spotlessly clean and well maintained.
We had a lovely stay at high beach cottage over Easter. We were very impressed by how well-equipped the kitchen was and the games there were for kids of all ages. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fire in the evening and enjoying the view.
Excellent house, which was used as a base to explore the area. We had very good weather more or less when we were there (mid-May 23 for a week), which helps. Not many midges about! The house was clean and comfortable with large kitchen area and dining area with two of all major white goods (two ovens, fridges, microwaves etc.). Red squirrel watched us each breakfast most mornings. Three (very) large bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, which we used (we were a party of three couples). One bedroom downstairs with separate bathroom and I believe the house can accommodate up to ten. The v...more
The accommodation is very nice and equipped with everything. Nothing was missing and we felt very comfortable. The only downer is the busy street directly in front of the house. But at night it is quiet.
The accommodation was well equipped and situated in an excellent location. Below the apartment is a small supermarket that sells all the essentials plus local produce. Next door is The Osborne Hotel, beautiful food would highly recommend especially Sunday Roast (must book in advance if you want to get a space). 2 minute walk to the Royal Bar which also sells food and food to take away! Not far to Dunoon town centre or Toward LightHouse in the other direction, and beautiful walks and beaches on your doorstep. I’d just advise taking Smidge or buying some in the wee shop below the apartment i...more
The cottage was perfect for us, 2 adults, a preteen and a dog. A cosy feel with a view you can never tire of. Loved sitting on the veranda with a morning cuppa, just beautiful. We had our paddle boards and there was no shortages of places close by to launch. We took a day trip to the Isle of Bute and visited all the places close by, Puk’s Glen, Benmore Botanic Gardens, Kilmun Arboretum, so much to see and do, truly stunning location. We didn’t do much cooking but the cottage has everything you need, including some essentials like, salt, sauces, tea, coffee etc. There was plenty dish tow...more
Wayside Cottage is a lovely, well-equipped cottage that is also ideally situated near Dunoon centre and local pubs/ restaurants. The views from the bedrooms are just stunning, especially at dawn with the beautiful sunrise. The lounge has two large comfy sofas and is a great space to enjoy in the evenings. The owners added some local produce which was a nice surprise on arrival. The property was perfectly clean which we also really appreciated. Thank you
Had an amazing time, lodge was spotless, comfortable, and a quiet location. We would defo book again
This property is fantastic. We are regular users and always find it clean and welcoming. The host is so friendly we almost feel like we know him but we have never met. The location is second to none if you're visiting family or looking for a base while you go exploring the west coast of Scotland.
We had a wonderful few nights here. The view and location are magnificent! The owners have done a brilliant job. The apartment just felt like home from home and so comfortable. I must congratulate them on buying such a comfortable mattress in the front bedroom. So many rental properties are let down by poor quality mattresses and I think it’s such an important part of a holiday break. It made a real difference and I came away feeling totally rested. Thank you. One thing you could do with is a separate chopping board for onions and garlic as I don’t like to use the wooden boards as it leaves ...more
Beautiful setting. Very comfortable appartment. Tremendous views from lounge, main bedroom and deck. Very comfortable beds. Will have no hesitation to book again in future.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Craignethan. The location is just perfect and the environment so peaceful, relaxing and absolutely stunning. I would certainly book the accommodation again, and we will definitely be back to the area next year. When the weather is right, it’s better than the Med!!
When we arrived our whole family was impressed by the cleanliness and spec of the flat. From the lounge furniture, to the beds, towels, shower, bathroom, crockery, plates and everything in between we couldn’t have found better or fault anything in the flat. Everything in the flat felt brand new so we could see and apple the owners had done everything in their power to make this flat so comfortable, clean, accessible and enjoyable for us their guests. The only downside to the property - which we feel may just be out of the flat owners control - was the close entrance hallway. The front door ...more
Lovely property but would say that it needs more crockery/glasses, cutlery. Don't expect to have to wash up mugs by hand (there were only 3 for 4 people) for example, when there is a dishwasher. It means you end up putting the dishwasher on when not full which is false economy for the owner and not environmentally friendly. Also felt the description of the property was slightly misleading in mentioning the "abundance of local produce on the doorstep for keen chefs". We fall into that category but actually found local produce very difficult to source and not on the doorstep (unless it means...more
We booked this for last week of May 2024 and had stunning weather during our 3 night stay. The cabin and it's location are stunning. As best as the pictures try they truly don't do the cabin justice. It has to be seen to be believed. The facilities are perfect, comfy as it gets and awaking in bed looking out the window overlooking the loch is unforgettable. If you're not heading out to Inverary (20mins drive) for places to eat, do bring supplies with you as shop options are limited on this side of the loch, and they do close early. The hosts are great and super helpful. Can't fault anyth...more
The owners have put a lot of thought and personal touches into the house - small but really well fitted out and lovely. Take your bikes with you and use the very useful bike shed - can cycle along the Crinan Canal watching all the boat movements, enjoy coffee t Paula's Cafe or Crinan Basin, or even cycle to historic Kilmartin Glen.
A great, well equipped cottage in an amazing community. Would highly recommend the cottage to anyone.
In a great location, very convenient for all that the area has to offer.and on a quiet street. The flat is very well equipped with comfortable seating, good storage in the bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The owner was very responsive to our queries.
My family have stayed here quite a few times over the years. We love this house and its beautiful and peaceful location. It has everything we needed for a comfortable holiday - no matter what the weather is like.
My family and I stayed within the cottage and I can confirm that we had a lovely stay. The accomodation was clean and well equipped. Ii is within walking distance to town centre and shops. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Dunoon.
The house was perfect for us. Spacious and comfortable and fabulous views and location. The whole area is beautiful. There are good local shops and cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Lovely local walks. Pebbly beach nearby. The Portavadie Spa was also great hit - indoor and outdoor pools, gym, hot tubs and lovely restaurant. The hob was malfunctioning on first night - but the owner organised an emergency replacement until an electrician could repair it. Great response on a Saturday night.
My friends, their little dogs and I had a lovely relaxing stay at Cedar Cottage. Beautiful garden which dogs enjoyed running around and exploring. Cottage was comfortable with plenty of space. Bathroom had been updated nicely, however a flexible shower hose would have been useful as not everyone took showers, only baths and this made hair washing difficult. Kitchen did not have enough spare storage space for food items. We had to leave food items on counter tops or in utility porch and move around when cooking. I know not everyone enjoys to cook while on a break. Bedrooms a little dat...more
Wir durften 1 Woche lang das Cairnbaan House geniessen. Die Lage am Kanal, die Ruhe und die schöne Gegend hat uns sehr gefallen.
nice place roims were lovely so was restaurant food was good .only thing missed here was no breakfast.....hqd to go to cafe along road only 1 opened but was nice.
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
This is a lovely flat and with some small changes could be perfect. The living room, kitchen, master bedrooms were beautiful. There were a few issues though in contrast: 1. Smaller double bedroom I was not convinced the sheets were freshly laundered. I washed all bedding the next day relieved it was a dry day. 2. No crisp 100% cotton bedding instead bobbled, cheap. Give your guests hotel standard. Believe me it’s noticed. 3. We had to rush out to buy loo roll. 1 roll for a family of 4 was not sufficient. 4. The sofas definitely need more cushions for comfort. 5. Would have been n...more
Really lovely location,. Super view from living room window. Practical comfortable accommodation. Good value.
We have had a lovely week at janeville cottage. There is always room for improvement perhaps, like a working dishwasher perhaps. Other than that it was great
Ard Darach is a fantastic holiday lodge, the owners are great to deal with and our stay was perfect. The huge living room window gave us hours of fun watching the birds and Red Squirrels feed and play all day. The lodge is well laid out, comfortable and spotless. It feels more like a home than a holiday let. The site is quiet, feels secluded, but is a quick drive to the shops. We will go back, for sure. Our dog loved the stay as well.
Multigenerational family of six from Devon, Cumbria, Lancashire and Shropshire stayed for a week in May. The weather was glorious with no midges. Inverfyne cottage is in a fabulous location surrounded by mountains but close enough to a main road, easy walk to a restaurant, coffee shop and garden center. The cottage was clean, is very well equipped with everything necessary for a wonderful holiday if the weather is fine or wet. Our weather was glorious so the windows and the garden door were always open. The shrubs in the garden were vibrant in colour and scent and we went to sleep and awo...more
Stayed for a long weekend. Easy enough to find the lodge which is on a large site. We'll presented, lovely views, quiet and peaceful. Minutes drive from Western ferries port. As a base it's well positioned to get to various places. Thoroughly recommend and hope to visit again.
An excellent place with wonderful views Good for total relaxation. Reading, walking along the loch and board games. Not much else to do which suited us. An excellent local shop but glad we took most supplies with us! No welcome pack which was very disappointing. If we hadn't bought teabags we would have been stuck! Shop closes at 6pm!!!!!
Arthur’s Seat gave us everything we wanted! Yes, the steps up are steep but adds to the charm of the cottage and rewarded with the most spectacular view when you reach the cottage. Perfect for 2 and great location. Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable home from home stay. Communication with the owners was easy and friendly. We fell in love with the area and the added bonus of how friendly the people are. Looking to return later in the year and eventually move permanently! We’re looking to move to Kintyre but South Cowal has completely won us over. Turns out my mother went to schoo...more
A great house with plenty of room for 7 people and three dogs. Well equipped kitchen and great dinning area. The beds are really comfy all bedrooms are spacious. Plenty of room out side with nice sitting area. Located on the Crain canal which is very picturesque. Would recommend shelboure lodge..
Spent 4 nights at Pier Cottage, Kames. Although small, it had everything that we required and was ideal for our needs. The location is second to none. The owner Eileen was on hand for any advice and quickly sorted any minor issues. Thoroughly recommend a visit.
The perfect cottage for us in an outstanding position, lovely and comfortable with beautiful views. It felt very much like a home from home with fab towels and comfy beds, tastefully decorated with attention to detail and excellent amenities. The only thing I’d say and I knew before we went there from reading the reviews, the road noise is pretty loud and I’d advise earplugs.
During our recent stay at Birch Cottage in Stronchullin Holiday Cottages, we had a truly remarkable experience. The location of the cottage in Blairmore near Dunoon was perfect for our 6-night getaway with my wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and better still we could bring the dog! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the exceptional presentation and cleanliness of the cottage. It had a modern and stylish design with all the modern conveniences we could ask for. The fully fitted kitchen made cooking a breeze, however with the local seafood restaurants on offer, we didn't use ...more
Beautiful cottage, would stay again in a heartbeat. Lovely forest setting and dog friendly. Clean and comfy
Parking not easy to access cottage and a long difficult path to carry luggage etc to the property. Furniture was very limited in that nowhere to put clothes when going to bed (ie no chair to lie anything on). Bed was extremely creaky. Only one toilet roll in property. No welcome pack (something we would have expected when paying such a high rental). Shortfall in cutlery and needed more in the way of coasters to place drinks on in the different rooms. No instructions to use the jaccuzzi bath. Cold underfoot - could do with rugs especially in the bedroom. We stay in rental properties every year ...more
Cute little sea view flat. Welcomed with a hamper of goodies and basic food supplies which is always appreciated. Lovely light from from window and table to paint at with some basic art materials although you definitely need to bring your own. Tastefully decorated but a smell of damp was apparent and back of flat dark and gloomy. Quite a few ants crawling about. A good escape for 1 person but more for a tidy artist not an expressive, messy painter as not a real studio space just a table at the window. Glad it had internet access. Good space if you are working on smaller art works and just w...more
However, we went for work there, we enjoyed every moment during our stay. The property is a home when we are away from home. The house is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay.
We spent six nights in the Dunbheag Cottage. It was so cosy inside, with everything you could possibly need for a home from home stay. The outdoor seating area on the decking was perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining which we did a lot of! It was super to have access to a section of private beach with a beach hut where we had several picnics! Our dog was made to feel very welcome and had a great time too. Our hosts were fantastic and gave us a lovely warm welcome of chocolates and prosecco. They were on hand for any queries. It was a truly lovely stay and we hope to be back one day. The St...more
Just returned from a relaxing break at this beautiful lodge. Decorated to a high standard and immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will be back.
Had a lovely stay, beautiful views, fab weather very restful. The area was excellent for touring and discovering more of beautiful Bonnie Scotland. The lodge needs abit of a scrub here and there, And the outside just needs abit of a tidy. The facilities were good and clean, it had everything you need. The on sight restaurant bit expensive and some of the service abit slap dash. Overall Dunoon is beautiful and our stay at the lodge was great.♥️
Excellent accommodation, the photos don’t do it justice. It’s very comfortable and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and good quality linen. With a beautiful view of the loch from the main bedroom. Kitchen is well equipped. The area is so peaceful and location is amazing! I would book again and again!!
We had a lovely few days staying at Sebright holiday home with our furry friend house felt like home from home ,we had everything we needed . Complimentary bottle of wine, chocolates & biscuits was much appreciated, close to shops & town centre & exploring Dunoon. Beds super comfy. Would highly recommend, we hope to visit again in the future.
Lovely location, lovely cottage and fantastic to watch all the birds on the feeders we filled. Bonus is watching the red squirrels every morning in the garden. Beds very comfy. Only down things for us is that place was so cold when we got there. Maybe radiators could be put on the afternoon of arrival in colder months. Also we have a dog ourselves ( not with us this time) but had dogs loose in front and back garden from walkers along the forest path at the front of the cottage.
We had a lovely break at hazelbank on Mary Street, Dunoon. We were visiting our family with our little dog and no one had room for us to stay. We had a comfortable stay, nice and warm and everything we needed. The flat was a wee bit old fashioned but was clean and had a lovely garden. Easy access to the town and the beach and of course our family. We would definitely stay here again.
A lovely log cabin in a lovely setting . My thoughts are that it would suit two adults comfortably. We were 3 adults and for example the settee easily seated 2 . With 3 it was too close together , for us anyway . We found all the notices of ‘don’t do this or that ‘ a bit unwelcoming and we have stayed in log cabins many times before . And in fact left Iona cabin to go to one on the Ardnamurchan! It was fine for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay as we are nature lovers and photographers!
Best thing about this cottage is the location, being able to walk through the bluebells in the woods to Kilmartin Glen. kitchen very well equipped, garden very small and not secure for dogs. Inside the house is quite dark, being built into the hillside
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more
We had a lovely 5 nights at Teal Cottage. Very well appointed and the bed and bedding was excellent. It was lovely to sit on the bench in the front garden in the sun (yes we had a few very sunny days), enjoying our coffee and the views. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The sitting/dining area was much larger than the photographs show and filled with natural light. I particularly loved the large seat/small sofa for reading in. The only reason that I gave a 4 for location is that it was a drive to off lead walking (for the dog) apart from the loch when the tide was out. That was great ...more
Ash lodge was a pleasant stay, it was clean, had all facilities that was needed. Could do with updating the interior as it’s looking worn/dark. The pub (Whistlefield Inn) was closed which was a disappointment, however there are some lovely pub/restaurants a short drive away. Overall, we had a pleasant stay but found it a bit too isolated for what we’re used to.
We had a lovely visit for my birthday and were very lucky with the weather. We visited Inverary, Tarbert, Oban, Kilmartin and Crinan , the apartment was ideal for the three of us and Teddy the bichon frise had a lovely time too. We hadn't been to Scotland for 20 years so it was interesting to return to such a beautiful part of Scotland. the apartment was perfect...modern, clean well equipped, comfortable with excellent views over the loch, The only downside is the entrance to the building itself and the garden needs some attention.
A lovely cottage set in a stunning location. Very clean and had everything we needed. It’s situated in a stunning setting and was just what we were looking for for a weeks break .
This is a really comfortable cottage in a lovely peaceful spot. There were lots of places within a short drive to keep us happy, but we also enjoyed getting the little ferry to Bute and going further afield up to Inverary, then down to Tarbert and getting the ferry back from there. There's a little Marina opposite which is a nice place for a drink and a snack. Our favourite spot in the cottage was the sun room, looking out at the lovely garden and watching the many variety of birds. We had a bit of difficulty accessing WiFi, but that didn't bother us much. The owners were very helpful and wel...more
Lovely property in a beautiful location. It was very well furnished and stocked. Argyll Self Catering provided excellent service. There were two quite significant issues though. One was that the front door was sticking very badly, probably because of dreadful weather. We sometimes were unable to close and lock it. Secondly the heating wasn't quite up to the job. We were visiting family so were only at the property overnight otherwise would have lit the fire which would have helped but without that it was pretty cold.
Staying at the lodge was really good. Lots of space and lots of opportunities to enjoy the view! Thank you.
This will be our 20ish holiday at Otter Ferry and stayed in a few lodges over the years but first time at Cockleshell. This is another super lodge on the shoreline which is great for wild swimming and dogs just love the walks around the estate. Thanks Tristan, will be back later in the year.
Enjoyed a lovely quiet stay here with my wife whilst our house was having some renovations, wonderful location, very characterful cottage & a very kind & knowledgeable owner, would recommend very highly & we shall be returning for another stay.
The house is spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner was also very helpful in helping us figure out the hot tub. Thank you!
A lovely compact cottage with stunning views over Loch Fyne and within a couple of minutes tottering distance of sll Inveraray's amenities.
We were advised to use the private residents access road and it was in a disgusting state full of pot holes some very deep that the car dipped, loose gravel and my partner was worried about what it was doing to his car when using it. The main bedroom the wardrobe would not open, the doors were stuck so had to use twin room unit, the bathroom especially the shower door kept coming off their runners so had to keep one closed and squeeze in and the toilet was quite low down so anyone with mobility problems might find that difficult to use. The kitchen especially the oven, someone probably a previ...more
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
We really enjoyed our stay it was a lovely cottage and a fantastic view. It was in many ways the nicest cottage we've stayed in being romy with good furniture and very comfortable beds. Would have liked more information such as how the wood fire heated the radiators, that the only access was via single track roads . The fire lighter was empty but we had matches, the kindling was insufficient but there were plenty of logs. The only significant issue was the sliding door which was very stiff, my was unable to open or close it. If the weather had been warmer this could have been an issue. W...more
The Lookout is a beautiful, immaculately clean house with fantastic views from most of the windows. The bed was very comfortable and we spent an enjoyable week staying there. The property was let down by having no distinguishing sign at all at the rear entrance from the approach lane so we drove up and down the narrow track searching for it. Having decided to search on foot we went down the 16 steps ( which had been mentioned on the website) and ended up peering through windows to try to see if it was the cottage we had booked based on the website’s photos. There was a rickety metal hand rail...more
Lodge was basic but in need of upgrading in some areas and a deeper clean, especially the kitchen area
A very thought out holiday apartment We had an amazing Time here, The Apartment was very nice. Kitchen was well equipped. Bedrooms were lovely. It was also great having the bedding and towels provided and little things like having a hair dryer supplied too. We visited lots of places and saw some beautiful lovely views. We look forward to retuning soon
A lovely cottage ,amazing views, very clean, the hamper provided was an added bonus. Plenty of parking. Lovely cafe at Blairmore
A lovely lodge in a delightful location BUT and it’s a big but, it is a long way from the nearest shop so take everything with you. The nearest shop is a 1 hour round trip down a single track road. After all that the lodge is lovely. Very spacious and nicely decorated with lovely views of Loch Fyne from the living room and the master bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped with lots of cutlery, crockery etc. but lacks any instructions on how to use the oven. The heating is storage heaters and electric wall heaters plus a log burner. More than adequate. Two electric showers. Not the m...more
I thought Culzean House was good. The availability of a sauna and ht tub added to the value. Would have liked all of the rooms to have had en suite.
Great cottage in a stunning locatin right at the Loch. Interior a little old but everything works and we had no problem to take care uf us for the week.
The customer service we received has been amazing. The property was fantastic and the lads were definitely comfortable.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
Perfect setting, comfortable and homely accommodation. Easy walk to Crinan Hotel and locks.Crinan our favourite place in the world and this is now our favourite location to stay. Very relaxing. Sublime in the good weather - we watched the Sound of Jura from the balcony in many changing scenarios - sun set, sunshine, mill-pond, clear sky and moody lightening - excellent.
We have been visiting dunoon for the last 15 years, me and a few friends have our annual deer stalking week with whinston Churchill and was great to stay somewhere that was only 5 mins down the road. The cottage was ideal for what we wanted and will definitely be staying again.
We enjoyed our week at the Old Fire Station, great location looking out towards Bute. The village is interesting and although there are some empty shops you can still feel the grandeur of bygone lives. The house is comfortable, clean, but not sparkly clean. The outside furniture was very dirty and I hadn’t come on holiday to start scrubbing it clean, which is what it needed. If it had been wiped down at the end of each holiday let and not allowed to build up, it would have been a lot easier just to give it a quick clean. There was an over whelming musty, damp smell downstairs in the bedrooms. ...more
