Lovely apartment in a great location Very clean and comfortable we were a party of 2 adults and 2 adult children would definitely recommend
Lovely cottage , just right for couple wishing to get away from it all . The cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, is clean and well presented. Ideal location to explore from . Local amenities short car ride away. Only recommendations would be TV could do with being a bit bigger as not easy for those with eyesight issues and a couple of sun loungers outside would have been great to catch some rays ...
We had a wonderful stay at Derryguaig by the sea over the festive period. The house was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owner was fab and always on hand if needed. There was a gorgeous welcome pack and lovely Christmas decorations adorned the house. We will happily return to this beautiful house.
I would have no hesitation in recommending High Beach cottage as a holiday home. It is comfortable and very well appointed with excellent communication from the friendly owners. There was a lovely welcome basket of goodies waiting for us when we arrived and the fire had been laid ready for us, which was a nice touch. We were left plenty of logs to keep us going over our stay and there were clear instructions on how to work everything. The cottage was cleaned to a very high standard and had everything we needed in the kitchen. It is in an excellent location with ample off street parking. ...more
Kenmore Villa exceeded all our expectations. The Internet does not do the Kenmore villa , surroundings justice. We loved everything about our stay , accommodation, surroundings, people in Scotland everything. Will definitely be back this time around more days.
Our Dance Family had a great time. Lovely accommodation, great location and lovely views. Thank you so much xx
Very little to more to add. The location and views are just wonderful. If you are lucky with the weather like we were then it would be hard to beat. All around restful and relaxing.
If you wish a walk on the quiet side, then do not hesitate to stay at this lovely house, Ardfyne. With beautiful views over Loch Fyne to the west and in a great location altogether, this property is superbly well-equipped and spacious. Also, well-placed for an evening meal out in the nearby Creggans Inn, book ahead as this is a very busy restaurant with great seafood. Forest trails, mooching along the shoreline for shells and driftwood, hills and gardens to explore, and within easy distance of most places such as Inveraray, Benmore Gardens by Dunoon and your own hidden gems yet to discover i...more
Had a fantastic stay at this property. Very clean and comfortable throughout with all the finishing touches, such as a welcome basket (with biscuits, coffee, wine and whisky). Would definitely stay here again when we return to Argyll/Kintyre area. Beautiful views over Loch Gilp. Handy for amenities and also ferry links to the Southern Hebrides. Mr and Mrs Law were so helpful.
Nursery Cottage is in a great location to explore Argyll and beyond, many walk around the local area some in forests some with stunning views. The host Jo is very welcoming and ensures your stay is the best it can be. Highly recommended
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Craignethan. The location is just perfect and the environment so peaceful, relaxing and absolutely stunning. I would certainly book the accommodation again, and we will definitely be back to the area next year. When the weather is right, it’s better than the Med!!
We had a great 4 night stay. Lovely, clean, modern, comfortable accommodation. Stunning views of the Kyles of Bute and walking distance of the hotel and shop. Great cooking facilities. Although, some basics like salt and pepper would have been handy or a little welcome pack. An ice tray would have been good.
We stayed at Upper Alta as a couple and found the accomodation to be clean and comfortable. Although the lounge and front bedroom window overlooking the Kyles provided excellent views, the addion of the liitle balcony was a delight especially as we had good weather all week. The central heating control took some getting used to although we only needed to warm the towel rail in the bedroom since the weather was warm enough without turning on the radiators. The flat was spacious for two but could have accomodated four adults providing the bathroom rota was well organised! Arrival info could ...more
This was our 2nd visit to Greenlea this year and it it was as enjoyable as the first one in March. We spent Christmas at Greenlea and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity. No chasing the last sprout. This was the first time we had ever gone back to the same holiday let twice in the same year. The place was immaculately clean and presented at the highest standard. We wanted for nothing except an extra week! Dave and Gill
Amber Lodge was a great place to stay for our week's holiday. Inside it felt very homely, was comfortable and had just about everything you needed. The weather was good so did not need the fire and we also did little cooking as we were out all day. Amber Lodge is well situated with lovely views and easy to get to the main road, handy for getting out and about. The owner was extremely friendly and provided lots of information. The Holiday Park Staff were also extremely helpful and friendly. Can recommend using the pool on site and the restaurant food was very good. Everything was dog fri...more
Small property but has everything you need. Very comfortable and ideal location for exploring the area. 10 minutes from Portavadie ferry across to Tarbert which opens up a further great area for exploring. Log fire in the living room which was a real bonus for us.
We have stayed at Gate Cottage a few time and are never disappointed would highly recommend a stay here
I have been in this property so many times in the past few years and I do find the cottage absolutely comfortable, tidy and clean. The owner is very kind and immediately ready to support in anyway. I’m looking forward to be there soon again.
We stayed at Cedar Cottage over Christmas 2022. The weather was typically Scottish but the cottage was warm and cosy. It had everything we needed for a quiet, peaceful break. The cottage is deceptively spacious and is located in a stunning part of the country. It has easy access to many country walks yet is only 10 mins from nearby Dunoon. We have stayed in many cabins/lodges over the last few years and this is one of the best. A special mention about the owner, Lil. She left us a pesonalised Christmas card, wine, cheese, milk, chutney and oatcakes for our arrival and made us feel very wel...more
Our short stay at Sealladh Na Mara exceeded our expectations. The flat was very clean, comfortable, warm and generally a relaxing place to be. The location right on the shores of the Holy Loch is stunning, and the surrounding environment offers many wonderful and beautiful places to explore. We are already looking forward to returning for another short stay in the future.
Very impressed with the facilities and location. We have stayed in many Hotels around the world, but as a self catering unit this ticked all the right boxes in comfort and speciousness
if your looking for a relaxing break with breathtaking views then this is the place for you, the lodge was really comfortable and warm and equipped with everything you need tom make your stay faultless. with a pub about 100 yards from the lodge which serves great food and a good range of beers, wine and spirits this really is the perfect getaway. i must say a special thanks to the owner for letting me return to the lodge 2 days after we had left as i had left a jacket behind, i called the agent who got in touch with the owner and he immediately called me to allow me access to the lodge to co...more
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
We were a party of 10 adults, 2 infants and a dog and had lots of room at Shelburne Lodge. It occupies a beautiful spot and was so homely, we all loved it and would really like to return at some point. Would definitely recommend to other larger parties.
Excellent stay in this cottage in residential part of Dunoon. Good quality furnishings and well equipped,
Great wee flat stunning views over the Loch all facilities in the apartment needed for an enjoyable week long stay great area too would highly recommend
Great location. October colours in forest and on hills stunning and cottage a very welcome warm place to return to after wet walks! Owners very helpful.
We had a great experience staying at the Bay Cottage. Liked the privacy and bath tub. We are planning on returning to Scotland and would definitely stay here again. Thank you
Our Dance Family had such a great time at Loch View - awesome accommodation, awesome views. Thank you so much xx
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Davaar seafront. The location was ideal and very convenient. The inside was spacious and well equipped. The view from the living room window was amazing and one that we spent a lot of time admiring. A great property that we hope to use year after year. Thanks you kindly.
What a find this place was. Absolutely stunning home with stunning views. Everything you could possibly need and the BBQ was a fantastic bonus. Despite the cold weather, we were blessed with blue skies and were able to enjoy a lovely BBQ and cold water swim. House was spotless. Pool table was fantastic. Thank you for such a wonderful weekend.
Can't beat this location for a peaceful relaxing holiday with stunning views over Loch Long. The cottage was very well appointed super kitchen & very well equipped. We loved sitting out on the decking & just soaking it all up. There was only 2 of us so bear in mind if you are a party of 6 you may have to organise a bathroom rota!
Thank you very much . everything is fine. large beautiful house in a beautiful setting. thank you Diane and see you next time
Appreciated the lovely touches of the welcome gift everything was there that we needed great environment and very relaxing
The position of the accommodation near the beach and location of the Kames hotel was perfect for our us . From the we visited other places of interest such as Rothsay and Dunoon . The owners Mr and Mrs duff were especially helpful during our stay The weather was an added bonus and the view accross the Kyles of Bute were fantastic
It’s a lovely cottage and perfect for our families Christmas holiday . The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The owner is lovely and welcoming and provided us with provisions for our first night and day as the nearest supermarket is quite a distance away. There is a local Brewery a short walk away and a restaurant close by . Argyll holidays were very efficient and extremely helpful in arranging the holiday for us . They were easy to contact and always responded quickly. We were very happy with our stay, the beautiful area and lovely walks . The ...more
A beautiful house, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, a verry kind and helpful host. We have only positive impressions and good feeling with our stay. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your house.
A very spacious and comfortable flat with the most amazing views; spent a good few hours watching the world and the water go by, just what a holiday should be about
Lovely small cottage in a good location. Really handy for the local amenities. All restaurants, shops within walking distance of the cottage. Property, was clean & tidy. The only issue is with the windows & front door of the property. Neither are sealed properly or sound proof. So, you can hear all traffic going up & down the road. Particularly if sleeping in the front bedroom at night. The property needs double glazing.
Angel Cottage is in a great location, looking over Holy Loch towards Dunoon and The Firth of Clyde. It's really accessible for the car ferry to Greenock, and a short drive for the ferry to Bute. There are great walks in the Argyll Forest nearby. The cottage is really comfortable, well-equipped, with high-quality items and furnishing; and perfect for a couple. We had a wonderful week, and recommend Angel Cottage as a great base to explore this criminally underrated area of Scotland. PS Ardentinny, Puck's Glen and Bowmore Botanic Gardens are must-sees!
However, we went for work there, we enjoyed every moment during our stay. The property is a home when we are away from home. The house is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay.
We spent six nights in the Dunbheag Cottage. It was so cosy inside, with everything you could possibly need for a home from home stay. The outdoor seating area on the decking was perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining which we did a lot of! It was super to have access to a section of private beach with a beach hut where we had several picnics! Our dog was made to feel very welcome and had a great time too. Our hosts were fantastic and gave us a lovely warm welcome of chocolates and prosecco. They were on hand for any queries. It was a truly lovely stay and we hope to be back one day. The St...more
The owners were very welcoming and this was a good central location in Dunoon. We changed tenants half way through the week and this was not a problem at all for the owners.I offered to change the beds for the new clients but the owners were quite happy to do this themselves. Many thanks to them
Not the first time we've stayed here and won't be the last. Fabulous location in a beautiful part of Argyll. The lodge is a perfect size for two and their pets. The wild birds visiting the feeding area outside the window was an added bonus. Friendly hosts Chris and Maggie made sure all was well. A suggestion for improvement would be for a washing machine in the kitchen instead of a dishwasher.
This was our 3rd visit to this beautiful wee cottage on the sea. It did not disappoint once again.Beautiful views, great walks with the dogs and friendly villagers. We had a ovely relaxing stay.A real home from home. We will definitely be back for a 4th visit.
Enjoyed our first, but hopefully not last, holiday at Dolphins Run. Beautiful lodge, really well equipped, dog friendly and in a lovely spot in Hunters Quay holiday Village. We were unsure what it would be like but the Village is beautifully kept with great facilities. We'll definitely be back.
The cottage met our needs and location for sorting out the boat we have bought nearby. However a couple of points that should be addressed are the shower, which needs replacing couldn’t use as no pressure and couldn’t regulate temperature, also the sofa which has a board under the cushions and a throw over, so not comfortable. Water temperature was tepid so had to boost. Hope this helps. Thank you.
Teal Cottage was just lovely. The setting was second to none. A truly beautiful location and perfect for a holiday to restore your equilibrium. The cottage had everything that you would need on holiday and our hosts were very generous, providing us with freshly caught Mackerel on our first day. We would definitely visit again.
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more
Loved Otter Ferry, nothing there and shops are miles away and a trek so come well stocked up. Its beautiful location, stunning scenery, the spring wildflowers were breath taking and the smell of bluebells was awesome, The gardens are full of old well established plants and trees which have been left to their own devices, so its a lovely place to wander around in a chilled and relaxed location. The loch is just on the door step and is so clean and wonderful to just sit and watch. The weather was mixed but even watching the stormy weather on the loch was a joy.
Our family had a really great time staying at Sebright. The house is so comfortable and has a fantastic central location. The owners were extremely thoughtful in the way they had furnished the house, so that it felt like a real home from home, and we settled in straight away. We were also touched by the very kind ‘welcome pack’ left for us. There was ample parking for two cars, but it was lovely to be able to leave them most of the time as the beaches and the town, pool, castle gardens etc were all in easy walking distance. We were very sad to leave Sebright at the end of the week, as we’d had...more
We were for work in Dunoon and glad to return to this property. You can find all you need when you are away from home. Thank you
We hired Tigh Na Cladach for a family get together to celebrate my mums 60th birthday. The house was perfect, lots of space and in a idilic setting. The kitchen dinner was a perfect spacious yet sociable area for spending time together. The house was very clean and had lovely modern touches. We will definitely be booking again.
This was my 2nd stay at Gorsnavoon Cottage, the cottage is well equipped and is perfectly situated with great views.
Nice little cottage, secluded and in a lovely area, great dog walks. Very clean with comfy beds and seating in lounge. However the cottage is in need of upgrading in some areas. Notably the heating. The antiquated wood stove was difficult to manage and did not heat the water or the radiators adequately. It belched smoke into the room on lighting and would only stay lit if ashpan door was left open. Alternative heating was supplied in the form of oil filled electric radiators which saved the day but must be very expensive to run at this time of year. It would have been nice if the heaters ha...more
Staying at the lodge was really good. Lots of space and lots of opportunities to enjoy the view! Thank you.
I have been to Clydeside Villa 3 years in a row, first time with family and they all loved it especially the hot tub, the last two years have been with my 5 girlfriends and we find it so relaxing and the view is lovely. Also Allen is very accommodating if we have any issues, it is very spacious downstairs as well as upstairs. Great getaway.
For the last 6 years we have spent some of our summer vacation in the Cowall Penninsula and I always spend some time looking for the best place to stay. Ardmun House was a great find - the location is an ideal base for visiting so many different places and the house has everything that you need - a real home from home. The property is fully fenced and was therefore safe to let the grandson and dogs enjoy the outside space as we enjoyed the view of the water and beautiful scenery. Superb property.
Fabulous location on the shore front, free parking, comfortable beds and chairs. Very interesting watching all the shipping go by, loved the Janes shipping guide. Double bedroom and a twin bedroom, two bathrooms so ideal for a family
13 of us went to Culzean house for a family birthday celebration. We had a lovely time, the house was very well equipped with everything that we needed. The weather was not great but that didn't stop us from enjoying the hot tub or the sauna every day. The house was a bit further out from shops than we realised so be prepared with all of your shopping in advance so that you don't have to do the 15/16 Mile drive into the town. We had no phone signal at all and with 6 youngsters was a bit frustrating for them although the up side to that was that we had brilliant family time, just being toge...more
The house is spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner was also very helpful in helping us figure out the hot tub. Thank you!
Beautiful cottage Beautiful surroundings and views Excellent hostess Would highly recommend to fiends, family and everyone
A great house in a great place. Very warm and it had everything we needed for a family holiday. On arrival, my elderly mother opened the fridge door and it fell off and hit her on the head. The owner sourced a replacement fridge, but I had to help him shift it, and although he apologised, he showed no empathy or concern for my mum. Two of the downstairs toilets were dodgy too. The cisterns wouldn't fill without removing the lid and fiddling with the strange mechanism. This situation created stress in my mother and lessened her enjoyment of the holiday. The owner got a plumber out but the iss...more
Our Dance Family had an amazing time at Holy Loch. Lovely Location and lovely views. Thank you so much. xx
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
The house is well organised. I will share three remaks to help you to improve it : - we didn't find a hairdryer; - it was impossible to dry our clothes in the garden (with the sun) because the rope for hanging is durty, broken so too short - the table legs are now too short: they need to be wedged Thank you again for this booking: we will come again!
As above mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
My family and I loved staying in this beautiful cottage. The view from the large balcony across the loch is amazing. Looking over to the Isle of Bute we enjoyed watching the yachts sail by. There is a great swimming pool nearby at Portvadie with outdoor jacuzzis and fantastic view. Nice cafes in Tighnabruach (1.5 miles). Or you can take the ferry from Portvadie over to Tarbert, a nice fishing village with great harbour side cafe.
I booked this holiday home for my family for 6 days on 14th November we just arrived and before we could unpack to enjoy our holiday I received a call say my mum had passed away I contacted the argyll self catering holidays immediately to inform them I'd be going home did not contact me say I could get full or part refund witch I found left bad taste in my mouth I'll never be back here and advice people thinking off going through this company think again.
Lovely honeymoon stay at the cottage. An ideal base to explore the surrounding areas. The welcome produce basket & Prosecco a lovely touch. Thank you.
Review submitted to Cottages.com via Reevo. Please contact Cottages.com for complete breakdown of our thoughts. Moreover, as the property is still in the process of being completed from an accessibility and use perspective, we would not currently recommend it.
A welcome pack with essential groceries was waiting for us upon arrival. Very kind. I would use this property again but i would request a thorough cleaning. The standard needs to be better.
We had a lovely week kayaking and paddle boarding on the loch. The cottage location on the loch was what we needed - especially a big thank you to the lady gardener who cleared a path down to the loch for us. Shame the lodge was not up to our cleanliness standard that we are use to. We had to Vacuum bedroom on arrival as the carpet had lots of hair on it. The sink on the en-suite had blue toothpaste on it which we didn’t have with us. The bathroom was in need of an upgrade as it had a damp smell and overall the lodge was covered in cobwebs and the window frames although in need of replacement ...more
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
Great location.Cottage was warm and comfortable and in a great location for exploring the surrounding area
The cottage is in a relatively good location, a quiet corner of a sheep farm but within walking distance to amenities including a great pub and restaurant. The cottage was not very clean and smelt damp, there were crumbs and ants in some kitchen drawers, rubbish under a couch, many utensils were dirty, the kitchen floor had mucky foot prints.... however the sheets and towels were clean which was the main thing. The whole cottage inside and out needed painting, the perimeter fence was falling apart which meant sheep were often in the garden and their poo was everywhere, therefore dangerous f...more
Very comfortable and great location right in the centre but still very quiet. It would be good to have a few more items for the kitchen.
Over all the cleanliness and upkeep of vital parts of this house let it down. The fact that the furniture had rugs covering them to hid the stains isn't good enough. To leave a note saying the toilet seat was broken but not fix it and leave it like that for your guest is totally unacceptable. To have left half drank bottles of water and someone else's walking boots and stuff all over the porch isn't what we paid for.To sell the fact that you can sit outside on the decking and watch the beautiful sunset, but the furniture is rotten and broken again isn't acceptable. The owners were contacted but...more
