Comfortable, welcoming. Clean and well kitted out. A lovely base for exploring the area. Campbeltown, Tarbert, Portavardie and Gigha. A truly relaxing experience.

This is a nice house with great scenery in the perfect location if you intend to visit Islay, as it's just minutes away from the ferry. That said, we stayed at multiple houses throughout our 2-week Ireland/Scotland vacation and this is the only one where we could not make contact quickly with management during our stay. In our case, we did not have access to the phone or email account that we used to book our stay (our fault), so we could not access the code to the lock box that they sent to that email address. We called the emergency number from the driveway of the property asking for support and they did return the call, although it was NOT to the number we gave on the voicemail that we left. If you're going to have an emergency number and you cannot make direct contact with a customer who has called that number, you should send someone out immediately to resolve the situation.

Dear John,
I was the person on call when you contacted the emergency hot line from your American mobile. I called it straight back after reading your message and your phone was switched off. I then called the American number in your booking and that went to voicemail. I waited over an hour to answer a further call which would normally happen when access is still not gained. (95% of clients then read their arrival instructions and follow the instructions and gain access.)
When properties are remote you also received before arrival the following message:
Dear John,
It’s not long now until you head off to your holiday home.
You have already been sent the property address and key information. Did you receive it ok?
Please bear in mind that you will not be met on arrival, some of our properties are in remote locations.
To avoid a stressful start to your stay - please follow these tips:
Key Points to remember:
· Note the address of the property as shown in the key information email that has already been emailed to you.
· Make a NOTE of them - do not rely on being able to access them on your phone or tablet whilst travelling to the property. Some parts of Argyll have poor phone signal reception.
· Familiarise yourself with the Owners/Housekeepers name and contact phone number included on the key information email.
This can be very handy should you experience any problems whilst staying in the property.
They are your main point of contact if you have any questions.
· Make a note of the key safe location and code (if there is one). Keep it safe.
· If you are arriving in the dark make sure you have a light (your smart phone torch is handy) so you can see the key safe dials.
Do you need the details sent again? Email us at [email protected] and we shall happily re-send them to you.
John,
Can I ask how you managed to call the emergency number and how did you gain access to the property without anyone visiting you to help?
We try our best to offer a robust customer service experience with someone on call 7 days a week and it is really very disheartening when clients give 1 star customer service when they disregard all communications before arrival.

Kennacraig Lodge was the perfect self-catering property for our family (grandparents, father, 2 grandchildren).
An issue we had on arrival was responded to very fast. The accommodation was luxurious but homely at the same time ,extremely well-equipped and very comfrtable. The garden was large and a great place for the children to enjoy.
There was loads to do in the area- highlights for us were a day trip to Gigha where we hired bikes to explore, and 2 trips to Westport Beach - incredible beach with hardly anyone there! Given the time and better weather there was loads more we would have liked to do.

Absolute best lodging of our trip. We decided to make our ferry journey to Islay as frictionless as possible and booked the lodge to have an extremely chill time enjoying the Kintyre Peninsula and not have to rush to the ferry in the morning. This lodge has a lot of rooms with comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms with excellent water pressure and enough space to turn around in. There are games and books to while away the time if you so choose. The kitchen is completely stocked with all manner of pans, pots and appliances to make everything a breeze. Although we had fewer people than originally planned, this place would have hosted more people without anyone getting on top of each other. We were very comfortable and relaxed here and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We also had wonderful service from David Bridge of PEP Cars who helped us explore the area.

3 of us stayed here as a base to visit our sister nearby, we couldn't fault anything, fittings and furnishings were high quality throughout, from the well stocked kitchen to the comfortable beds with many interesting little things in and about the home that was well thought out and beautifully decorated with some lively neat touches, a very spacious home that was pleasant and relaxing, seeing the Lambs in the surrounding fields was a bonus.

A fabulous house in an excellent location for touring the Kintyre Peninsula and Islands around it. Whether rain or shine the house is a great place to be and being able to watch the Islay ferries come and go is a bonus.
Glorious Kintyre.

What a place Kennacraig Lodge is! It has EVERYTHING you could possibly wish for. Just turn up with clothes and food and you’re sorted. We’ll remember that for next time! My family and I had the most perfect long weekend away at Kennacraig Lodge. It was so clean and everything was in exceptionally good order. There was even a lovely welcome pack with all kinds of goodies. Our kids have already been asking when we can go back!
