Cosy, comfy little cottage on edge of Inverary, with great views across Loch Fyne. It was clean, well-equipped and had nice welcoming touches of shortbread, wine and some coffee pods too. Would have to recommend ear plugs if sleeping in the front bedroom as the main road passes infront of the cottage, but the lovely views in the morning more than make up for it!
Our only criticism would be that the parking area at the back is not very well described on the arrival instructions (and it differs from the information in the folder in the house), so we may have unwittingly parked in a neighbour's spot to start with. Perhaps an up-to-date drawing of the parking area would help guests in the future, or some signage on site. Parking in the area by the bus stop opposite the house was the easier option, we decided in the end.
However, we did enjoy our week there very much, and Inveraray itself is a great wee town with a good range of shops, bars and cafes just a short (and very scenic) stroll away.

A convenient location for Inveraray with lovely views across Loch Fyne. Heavy traffic on the main road can be a nuisance but this didn't stop us enjoying this historic property complete with its original bread oven

We have stayed at this cottage on several occasions. We find it ideal as we come to visit family in the surrounding area .
Found the TV to be somewhat out dated ! and difficult to read text on screen when program checking.

The perfect cottage for us in an outstanding position, lovely and comfortable with beautiful views. It felt very much like a home from home with fab towels and comfy beds, tastefully decorated with attention to detail and excellent amenities.

The only thing I’d say and I knew before we went there from reading the reviews, the road noise is pretty loud and I’d advise earplugs.

Don't be fooled by the exterior, this is a lovely, well equipped cottage for two to share. Waking up to the view of the morning sunrise across the Loch was a real joy.
The only drawbacks are the close location to the main road means there is a lot of traffic noise, and close proximity parking is difficult, although there is ample space at the rear of the back garden. Other than that, the cottage itself is great, and the owners were most helpful when called upon.

Lovely small cottage in a good location. Really handy for the local amenities. All restaurants, shops within walking distance of the cottage. Property, was clean & tidy. The only issue is with the windows & front door of the property. Neither are sealed properly or sound proof. So, you can hear all traffic going up & down the road. Particularly if sleeping in the front bedroom at night. The property needs double glazing.

A well appointed cottage with stunning views of Loch Fyne. It is within easy walking distance of the town where there are a variety of shops and restaurants. It is advisable to book restaurants in advance. I look forward to returning.

There was very little toilet paper supplied and there were some dirty dishes in the cupboard. The kitchen was supplied with the bare minimum. The refrigerator needed to be wiped out. The owner was responsive to a question. Needs a bit of an update. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was adequate.

Inverary was a lovely little town for a short break and Newton Cottage South had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped (we ate out so only used it for breakfast and snacks), the bed was comfortable and the bathroom, although small, was new and clean. It was an easy 10 minute walk into the town and the co-op was even closer. The view was lovely and there was a great back garden to sit in when it was sunny. Parking was also available at the back of the cottage. The road traffic was quite loud but we got used to it and it wouldn't put us off staying again.



Sorry left cottage early due to some factors noises of scratching etc in attic very loud and scary.

Had to leave cottage early for various reasons loud noises in the attic quite scary and not nice. Also the traffic noise was awful constant you couldn’t sit out front al all impossible to enjoy the view. Also the two armchairs in room were absolutely filthy definitely would not sit on them and couch was very uncomfortable.
Both front door and back door entrances were very dirty never been swept in months leaves and dirt being carried into house.
Bedroom was fine nice views and apart from loud noises in attic would have been ok.
Bathroom also was ok although large people might struggle with tight shower cubicle but ok for us.
Kitchen was also ok although no drawers for cutlery and no bowls or microwaveable equipment and sink difficult to keep the back of it dry.
We were sad about these issues really but it needs upgrading of downstairs furniture urgently and outside back area need some T.L.C. Sweeping and some plant pots and some chair cushions etc not much but just nice touches only a suggestion.

A lovely cosy cottage which gave us a lovely base for our holiday. Only a few minutes walk into Inveraray and stunning views from the cottage over the loch and mountains.Only slight negative is there is a road right outside which can be a little noisy but don't let that put you off, it is a perfect place to stay for a lovely relaxing break.

Great location looking out over the loch, cottage has everything you could want and is really comfortable. The town is really nice with some small shops that you can get the basics. Book in advance for restaurants as they were all full. Nice walks around Inveraray castle and 30 min drive to great walks around the west side of Loch Lomond park.

We have been spoilt on our recent stay in beautiful Inveraray. The warm weather allowed us to enjoy the evening views over Loch Fyne and even dips in the loch (it's quite shallow outside the property). As others have mentioned, the house is straight onto the A83 but it is not a constant stream of traffic and, if you are a light sleeper, the road cannot be heard from the back bedroom. Super provisions in the kitchen and very useful to have a washing machine as we'd already been away for ten days prior to this stay. Highly recommended a visit to Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Fyne Ales Tap and Brewery and Samphire.

Lovely, comfortable cottage across the road (just a few yards) from, and looking directly onto Loch Fyne. Really enjoyed it. Well equipped, lovely and clean. Couldn't fault it really. Struggled to keep the log fire sustained (kept going out) but that's probably just me! A five minute walk into Inveraray, (less to the well stocked local Co-Op). Less than two minutes away in the other direction is the Loch Fyne Hotel which is nice but pricey if you want a very local drink. Definitely recommend.



Newton Cottage South was the perfect place for our first trip to the Argyll!

As the title suggests, this was our second visit to Newton Cottage South so we knew exactly what to expect. The cottage is small but with all the home comforts you could need. The heating in the cottage works really well and the place heats up really quickly. There is a wood burner which is a nice feature.

Beds are comfy and there is good wardrobe storage in them.

The location of the cottage is excellent as it sits on the edge of Loch Fyne and is a short stroll into Inveraray. It is on a main road which is the main route to Campletown so you will have road noise. Didn't bother us in the least.

Communication from the owners was easy and helpful.

Will be back again as it is a great wee place in a great location.

The cottage was very nice: it was comfortable, clean, with good heating and water pressure, and nicely done up (good kitchen, the armchairs were a little bit too old, though). We liked it very much, but you have to get used to the road in front of the cottage, it can be noisy at night). Beautiful views on Loch Fyne!

The location is stunning ! The cottage is very well appointed although the pillows were a bit to firm for our liking !! The only downside was the smell of oil from the boiler which meant we could not have the rear doors to the garden left open. In all other aspects I would be very happy to recommend the cottage.

Having stayed in Inveraray many times over the years, this is the best self catering accommodation in the area we have stayed in.

The cottage is well looked after and has many nice touches, like a wood burner. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of cupboard space in both bedrooms.

While the kitchen area is small, it has everything you need to cook a big meal. There is a large co-op nearby for supplies and plenty of places to eat out, with the George Hotel being the best of the bunch.

We will certainly be back.

The cottage was quite small, but very cosy and comfortable. Very clean and well equipped. The front bedroom has a lovely unrestricted view of the loch - perfect for a cup of tea in bed. Modern bathroom with powerful shower. Comfy beds. Didn't use the wood burner as it was warm enough with the heating. There is Co-op within walking distance and lots of places to eat. Ideal place for touring around and lots of nice walks on the doorstep. Slight drawback was having to carry suitcases etc. across back lawn or over the busy road.

Lovely and cosy cottage a stones throw away from the centre of Inveraray. One room downstairs and 2 double bedrooms upstairs and bathroom. There was only 2 of us staying this time but would be OK for 4 people as long as you spend a fair time out and about. Very modern with everything working OK.

We really enjoyed out stay - the cottage comfortably slept 4 (in 2 double bedrooms) and had everything we needed. A cosy very well equipped cottage conveniently located on the loch side on the south side of Inveraray. Comfortable bed and good shower. Would benefit from double glazing downstairs at the front to cut down the noise from the traffic on the A83. However we did sleep very well in the upstairs front bedroom.

We had a very nice stay at this cottage. The living room and the open kitchen made you really feel like home. The beds and the bathroom were very comfortable. The cottage is near a busy road but the backyard gives you all rest and beautiful flowers to enjoy and spent your time in it.

Great location, sat out on bench overlooking the loch. Comfortable cottage with everything we needed, be good to have some fans though as was very hot sleeping and hard to open windows due to midges at night. Very handy Co-op less than 5 mins away open til 10pm daily to get groceries.

Excellent location for wonderful loch views. Furnishings extremely comfortable, more like home from home. We appreciated the welcome gift and must comment on the cleanliness of the cottage which was first class. We were extremely lucky with the weather, hot and sunny all week so made use of the garden as well.

All in all would highly recommend this cottage for a delightful holiday in Inveraray and shall definitely return next year. Looking forward to it already. Our thanks for a wonderful stay.

The cottage is in a fantastic location with exceptional views from the windows overlooking Loch Fyne. Very well equipped, with lots of thoughtful touches, although the cottage is only small, the space is very well planned out and is cosy and warm. The central heating and log burning fire soon warm you up after a day out exploring the great outdoors. There is parking to the rear of the cottage and a convenient coop supermarket is only a very short walk away. Located just a five minute walk to the centre of Inveraray, which boasts excellent places to eat and drink such as The George and Samphire. Didn't want to come home!

The front of the cottage is directly on the roadside. This did not bother us but may be a concern to some people.

Spent 3 days with friends at Newton south cottage and having nothing but praise for the comfortable surroundings, beautiful views . Best quality dishes , bedding , towels . it was just fantastic . Will definetly return for a short break.

Newton Cottage South provided an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Loch Fyne and loverly Inveraray. We couldn't get enough of that view - wow!! I think I took 100 photos of it in the space of 3 days... The cottage itself has everything you need and has been renovated to a very high standard. It was exceptionally clean and the owners were really helpful and even got the heating going before our arrival (a very chilly weekend in November). The only downside of the cottage is the road that it is on. It is a main thoroughfare and traffic goes past very late and very early on weekdays. The view does make up for the noise though.

I liked being able to book for three nights rather than being locked into a week as is generally the case. Road outside the cottage was very busy and noisy. All in all a good experience.
