The view was amazing but we were disappointed with the condition of the property and quality of fittings and equipment.
The rear entrance felt unsafe.

The Lookout is a beautiful, immaculately clean house with fantastic views from most of the windows. The bed was very comfortable and we spent an enjoyable week staying there. The property was let down by having no distinguishing sign at all at the rear entrance from the approach lane so we drove up and down the narrow track searching for it. Having decided to search on foot we went down the 16 steps ( which had been mentioned on the website) and ended up peering through windows to try to see if it was the cottage we had booked based on the website’s photos. There was a rickety metal hand rail, the end of which was wrapped in black tape presumably as a safety measure. We then noticed a wooden sign on a fence with the name ‘Torsa’. Not helpful at all and it would surely not be difficult to replace the handrail and erect an actual sign showing the current name of the property. Sorry to have to mention these negative points because once inside the actual house we were impressed with everything else.

Great location for this property overlooking the Isle of Bute.
A modern design but in order to exploit all of the features this house needs to be completely finished both inside & out.
We had a great holiday here but it could have been better if the full design features were completed.

Lovely very clean rental property with the most amazing views from the fabulous floor to ceiling windows. The balcony is perfect for catching the sun during the day. We loved our stay here and the only criticism is that it really needs a door on the en-suite as it is just open to the bedroom.

Just returned from 10 days at The Lookout. The property is in a stunning location and the glass frontage makes the most of this. However, we did have a few niggles with the property and feel there are some changes which if implemented would have meant a 5* review. On arrival the cleanliness was not acceptable. This was raised with the letting company and the owner/cleaner did then contact. A further clean was offered by the owner but by that stage we had cleaned ourselves. Following our raising with the letting company no further communication was received from them following up the issue. There were some unexpected omissions to the kitchen. The cooker has no air extractor and it was necessary to use an open window for this purpose. There appeared to be no pyrex type dishes for use in a microwave and there was no corkscrew. On some sites it appeared there was going to be a washer dryer where in fact it was just a washing machine. The heating in the property was good so this did not cause too much of an issue. We would have expected to have availability of kitchen roll but there was none. It was odd that there was no door from the main bedroom to the ensuite. It does appear that there are still outside finishing works to be done and in particular the access down from the rear of the property which is where you have to park had a handrail with sharp ends which is a hazard. The balcony outside the lounge area is still inaccessible. That said we had a very enjoyable holiday in a wonderful area.

We are very sorry to hear of the cleanliness feedback, where you found crumbs on the kitchen worktop and the hoover bag not being emptied, we can only apologise. We, the agent contacted the Owner immediately to forward your concern. The Owner advised us she had offered you a further clean and check within the hour. As we were in close contact with the Owner we did not feel we needed to also contact you, especially when you declined any further housekeeping. It is quite disappointing you did not raise any other concerns or ‘niggles’ while you were at the property with us or the Owner to address this privately so certain items could have been replaced for your stay. All your feedback has been passed onto the Owner. We strongly believe the property at £130 per night to stay in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, open plan, modern holiday home, and with water views plus all utilities, Wi-Fi and insurances is great value for money.

Had a lovely week over new year in The Lookout. Views were amazing -every day regardless of weather.
Loved the big open plan room.
Everything was beautifully comfortable.
Only problem was inability to contact housekeeper. Left message to phone back but they never did.
There were a few things missing (like lots of wine glasses but no corkscrew!) The fridge was very small (no freezer) for 4 adults cooking meals over a holiday period. Thankfully weather was cold enough to store food outside.
But nevertheless it’s been a fantastic week and we’ll be back.,

Amazing views cottage was comfortable. However the steps in the back to the property are not good. Access should be made through the front steps to the side

Great location - fantastic views across the water to Bute - different every day.
The Lookout has everything needed for a comfortable stay including a great coffee machine. House is well spec'd and very clean.
Local shops in Tighnabruaich and Kames very short drive or walkable.
Plenty to do in the area in addition to stunning walks - Portavadie for Spa and food, Waverley Paddle Steamer to Loch Fyne, lovely beach at Kilbride Bay, beautiful gardens at Benmore with panoramic view of the area.
Only issue was having to park behind the property and carry luggage down steep steps. Also meant a drive down a single track lane to get back to the main road - once the driveway at the front is complete the property will be ideal.

We spent a week at The Lookout and had a spectacular time topped by the most amazing weather. The view from the house is breathtaking and really lifts the spirits. The house was well located to local amenities, and Argyll has so much beauty and scenery to offer we didn't have enough time to do it all. Highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be back. Thank you

Lovely property, very comfortable. stairs down through garden to access house were a bit worn and handrail not very secure but that did not detract from the lovely house.

The views are outstanding. I could have just sat and admired the landscape, but needs a couple of recliner or easy chairs to enable this.
Plenty of kitchen items, crockery, cutlery, etc.
Nice bedding & towels.
Be aware there is no door on the en suite, being an early riser myself, putting the light on disturbed my partner who was still trying to sleep. I have already raised this with Argyll as I found it quite strange not to have a door there.
On a personal note, this alone would stop me returning to this property

Wonderful property in a great location. The Lookout was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and really comfortable. We especially appreciated the separate garage for storing our bikes and wetsuits.
