Enjoyable stay in a beautiful house in even more beautiful surroundings. The view to both mountain and sea was gorgeous.
The house was just as described and had everything I needed. The heating was very welcome in this very cold June week!

Arivonie is a quirky cottage being part over the art shop, and is not ideal for those with mobility issues but is a lovely, homely base for exploring this beautiful area. There is obviously some traffic noise given the main Fort William road runs alongside the minor road on which the cottage stands, but this is more than compensated for by the lovely views of Loch Leven & the surrounding mountains.

PERFECT FOR OUR NEEDS, QUIET, CLOSE TO BAR WHICH WAS VERY WELCOMING.

Great views of both the Loch and the Pap of Glencoe, great to lie in bed watching the changing weather conditions over the Pap of Glencoe. Good quality bedding towels etc. Double bed comfortable but used to a king size for space,
Cottage well equipped for cooking proper meals .Upstairs dining not really an issue as picture window to loch .

The only constructive criticism i have is that there was nowhere to sit outside as the wooden picnic bench was in need of care and waterlogged. Suggest plastic chairs and table for outside could be kept in the shed, An awning off the back of the cottage would also be useful.
Also no BBQ as stated but we brought our own.

Fantastic location and lovely cottage.

Wished we were staying longer! Loved it here with views over Loch Leven . Minor inconvenience with kitchen downstairs and dining table upstairs but that was clear in the plans on the website . No probs for us but if a family wanted to cook a lot then maybe could be a bit of a hassle carrtying hot food upstairs . My only small issue was that the duvet was very heavy and for July was far too warm so maybe summer duvets could be considered .Sure it would be great in winter .Also , all contact with the reception team was first class , great customer care .Well done as that can be lacking these days !

Really enjoyed our stay at Arivonie cottage. As advertised part of the ground floor is used as a self contained art gallery meaning the kitchen and main bathroom are downstairs and the main living room / dining area is upstairs with the two bedrooms and a smaller WC. Quirky but not an issue as the views over the Loch from the first floor more than make up for this. On the last afternoon we had an issue with the heating not working and the staff at Clachaig were brilliant coming out straight away and leaving us electric heaters as they couldn't fix the issue straight away. Great location and very well managed and would definitely recommend this property.

Having driven over 10 hours from Cornwall ,it was such a pleasure to check in at this beautiful cottage. The cottage is very prettily decorated and very comfortable. Warm and cosy with plenty of towels and linen not to mention the wonderful selection of tea, coffee (caffeinated, decaffeinated and filter)and delicious Walkers biscuits in the hospitality basket. There was even a beautiful bottle of local bubbly and a welcome card which was a delightful touch!
We loved looking out from the lounge widow to the beautiful loch were many birds were posing for our telescope and the back garden is very pretty leading out into the hilly woodland behind -ideal for owls and pine martins as well as sitting on a fine morning with a coffee. The village of Glencoe and the orbital walks around the local woodland and loch are very tranquil places to enjoy and the local hospitality is excellent with a hotel and beautiful, friendly coffee and gift shop. No visit would be complete without a visit to the Slate mine and we enjoyed the local area every day. A glorious week and well done Clachaig, yet again, for a wonderful stay. Your hospitality is second to none!

Will be using Clachaig Holidays again in the future, I can't recommend there staff highly enough, Helpful, polite and extremely professional 5* service.
The only things Arivonie holiday home could do with is a measuring jug and oven gloves (very minor detail, but would be helpful) would stay there again 100%

We booked in for two weeks this year after staying for a week last October. We really loved the cottage hence our return!

We arrived around 4pm on check in day and managed to get straight in to the cottage. The cottage was clean and tidy - we noticed in the living room the TV had been upgraded to a bigger set which was definitely a good decision.

The views are great and the cottage is well located for local walks. We really have fallen in love with this place and the view out of the lounge window makes us very happy!

A couple of things to note: we found the double bed to be quite hard, so much so we’ve had to go into the twin. It might be worth upgrading the mattresses? The twin mattresses are quite firm but better than the double. The other thing is that generally the kitchen is well stocked, but could do with a big colander and needs a new tin opener. Otherwise we are happy with everything in the cottage.

Clachaig staff came at the halfway point of the holiday to do a linen change for us. We did bump into them when coming back from our Skye trip and they were all very friendly, explaining what they’d done inside the property.

I would say that this cottage is definitely comfortable for two adults and I think you’d be okay with two children coming along. There is space on the sofa for two and then two chairs either side.

The cottage isn’t suitable for those with mobility issues as the kitchen and bathroom are downstairs with all the other rooms upstairs.

We do love this place and we will be sad to leave! Thank you Clachaig Holidays for another great stay.

We stayed for a week in Arivonie Lochside cottage, and it is in a great location to travel around the area, It has a fantastic view from the dining /sitting room window over the loch. A warm cosy, quirky cottage , with lots of space and storage. Decor a little tired in some areas. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

The cottage is very well-positioned for exploring the area. It is also historical as part of the old port cottages and the remnants of the Ballachulish slate industry are fascinating to wander around. This is our second year staying there and it has been a great base for hill-walking, visiting the Ardnamurchan peninsula or Mull or seeing the white-tailed sea eagles on The Loch Shiel boat trip. We enjoyed the Pier House and the Lighthouse exhibition at very scenic Port Appin - hadn’t time to take a ferry trip to Lismore - and also the beach at Cull near Duror. Worth visiting the Arts and Crafts style Hollytree Hotel at Kentallen to see their memorabilia of its days as the old railway station on the Oban to Ballachulish line - you can see the style matches the former Ballachulish station, now used as the village medical centre. Evening walks from the cottage to watch washing birds by the loch shore were very enjoyable too.

The location is great. Very close to Glencoe Valley. Walking distance to Glencoe village and Co-op.
Nice garden. Shed with washing machine and dryer. Shed is shared with the artist of the studio. She walks in and out at all times.
The cottage is kind of tatty. Old carpets nearly everywhere, not so nice smell. Beds were comfy. Shower was good.
The flush cistern of the toilet on the first floor is so noisy, you can wake up the whole neighborhood at night….
Clachaig Inn offers a very good service. They were very nice and helpful.

Wow, what a beautiful property. When we arrived, the cottage was spotless and everything was in working order. The layout worked absolutely fine for us, but bear in mind the bathroom and kitchen are downstairs whereas the living/dining space is upstairs.

The cottage is just off the A82 but the noise from the traffic was never heavy nor did it trouble us at night time.

The only minor thing is that the twin bedroom can sometimes get quite warm, but there is adequate ventilation from the windows and you can turn the radiators up or down if needs be.

I had to reach out to the booking team once during the holiday and they responded promptly and came straightaway to check out the issue. I was really happy with this, as it was something that wasn't a major issue and I just wanted to let them know in time for handover at the end of the week.

Washing facilities were very much appreciated, especially after long days outside!

Didn't use the WiFi as we had 4G signal on our phones so can't comment on it. Television had free view but this was fine for us - anything else we wanted to watch we just got up on our phones.

Cooking facilities excellent- we ate in most nights and we were really impressed with the amenities in the kitchen.

All in all, one of our best holidays and we've already booked to return next year.

Great position for Glencoe and the surrounding area with fabulous views from the living room.
Bedrooms are lovely as is the kitchen (downstairs from your other rooms), the living room is sparse and the furniture needs looking at due to wobbly legs etc. It's the one room that let's the cottage down as the rest is so homely.
The provision of a utility room is great however and space to hang kayaks etc to dry is brilliant.
The cottage is good value for money and we would return to both it and Clachaig holidays

This was our second stay at this wonderful quirky cottage in a lovely location. The layout will not suit anyone with mobility issues as the kitchen is downstairs but the living and dining area are upstairs, plus then a couple of further steps down, but for those for whom this is not an issue the bonus is the stunning views over the Loch and surrounding hills when relaxing or eating. The location is also ideal for exploring anywhere from Loch Lomond to Skye, or simply enjoying the wonder that is Glencoe and Loch Leven. It's also an easy stroll into either Glencoe village or Ballchulish village for the local amenities. For Dog owners the garden is not secure hence our escape merchant was kept on the lead when popping out for a wee, but we where mainly using this as a base for exploring hence it was not a big issue for us.

Our week's holiday staying in Arivonie Lochside Cottage was great. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable. Our towels were large and fluffy and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Ideal space for parking one car and excellent location for walking. The views from all windows were stunning - looking across the loch and to the mountains and beyond. Glencoe is a great location for a holiday and we look forward to returning soon.

Lovely lochside cottage near glencoe. Great views. Old cottage charm.
Downside were the beds were very hard and we couldn’t have a bath as the water came out clay coloured. Shower whilst hot after those long walks wasn’t very powerful.
Location helps to overcome these small faults

We enjoyed our stay at Arivonie Lochside Cottage with beautiful scenery of Glencoe, was easy to book through Clachaig Holidays even though there weren't open yet properly. Location is ideal, near to Glencoe village, walks and resultants. Nearby Co-op if you need any grocery shops. Couldn't do any activity due to most of activities closed due to COVID-19. Its a two bed cottage with a living room which also has a sofa bed, all on first floor and kitchen and bath downstairs. One WC also upstairs. We didn't have problem, plenty of space. Also a back garden and washing facilities available. Front room is used as a Art Gallery but was closed due to COVID-19. Cottage is near the main road but no traffic noise at night when the window closed. All in all very good stay.

Our stay over Christmas included an over 70 year old and two teenagers. The cottage was nice and warm, good to have 2 toilets, not so good that the dining area is upstairs but we were aware of this. Main issue was not enough seating in the lounge for a house that says it sleeps 5 as there was only comfy chairs for 3. Also the description says lochside/lochviews but you need to be aware that there is the busy A82 between the cottage and the loch. The cottage is well located near lots of different walking paths all within 30 minutes drive and also near Fort William which has all the facilities you need. The wonderful Clachaig Inn is about 5-10 mins drive down the road, but be aware under 18s are not allowed in the Boots bar which is the best one and where the live music is held, so the whole family can’t enjoy the best of the entertainment unfortunately. Overall really good value in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland.

Loved staying at Arivonie for the new year period, house was very warm, beds were very comfortable and an ideal spot ,with great views over the loch, the only thing that wasn’t quite as good was the sofa in the lounge, it was very uncomfortable and small. The house slept four but I think you would struggle to accommodate four adults to sit comfortably in the lounge with the small sofa and the chair with no arms. Other than this our stay was perfect as usual when staying at any of the Clachaig Inn properties.

Staff at Clachaig were very helpful.
There's a flight of stairs between the kitchen and living room, where the dining table is located, and 3 steps down into the living room and also the twin bedroom. The heat comes on only at 9:30 am but space heaters were provided on request.

Can't say anything negative about Arivonie cottage..It is perfectly located and one of the bedrooms looks on to The Pap of Glencoe. With Ballachulish a 10 mins walk one way and Glencoe village 10 mins the other way you are close to shops.Fort William is 20 mins away. The cottage itself has an odd layout due to part of it being used as an art gallery. But it's not a problem.Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Nice location and accomodation clean and tidy but rather let down a little by soft furnishings in living area which consist of a two seater rock hard sofa and one other rather dated chair which is not ideal if you have four people staying but that could and should be easily rectified and if done I would have no hesitation recommending this place ..

As regular self catering holiday makers, Arivonie was one of the best places we've stayed. We liked the fact that it was set back from the main road, on the edge of the village. The cottage itself was very comfortable, and it was easy to make ourselves at home. The lounge, which is on the first floor, has lovely views, although carrying hot meals upstairs from the kitchen to the dining area in the lounge can be a little hazardous.

A short stay during winter conditions but cottage was warm and cosy with very comfortable double bed. Soft furniture in living room was not so comfortable. Admin through Clachaig Inn was efficient and convenient. Most equipment and fittings were in good condition. Parking on clean driveway right by the main door was handy in poor weather. Location is pleasant (though not idyllic due to nearby A82), with views of hills across Loch Leven and of the Pap of Glencoe. We enjoyed our short stay and particularly our visits to the Clachaig Inn, which is always great for food, drink and socialising.
