Beech Chalet is a mountain chalet as you would imagine them to be.

Set in the grounds to the rear of Clachaig Inn, these timber clad chalets are the perfect mountain retreat, with excellent accommodation and unrivalled mountain views.

We’ve stayed in the Clachaig chalets many times and will do so again. They are comfortable and well equipped and very conveniently located close to the Inn itself. We tend to self cater for breakfast and lunch and eat in the Boots Bar most evenings. It has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere, a good menu and great staff.
And of course the local scenery is pretty awesome too!

Dirty, mouldy, worn out!
Glencoe is a really good place to start your hiking tours, but not from Clachaig Chalets!

We have stayed many times in the Clachaig cabins, at one time taking over three of them with family 13 in all staying in Oak Beech and Rowan. All very comfortable and well appointed. There are so many places and things to fill a stay however long or short. Weather can be very mixed but if you are prepared you can still have a wonderful time. The inn itself has two brilliant bars the Bidean for families and the Boots Bar for over eighteens, live music at the weekends and a good and vast choice of beers and ciders!!!

As with so many previous visits to Clachaig Inn, I am never disappointed with my stay in beautiful Glencoe.
I appreciate the service provided by all you staff, but for me the voice and face of Clachaig Inn is Anne-Marie
whose friendly service and welcome are always a joy.

I've stayed in these chalets several times. They are always clean and the staff at reception are always helpful. If you want to eat out, the bar has good food and drink (the "flat" cider is excellent!). If you want to walk, then you have the whole of Glencoe at your doorstep. Further afield, there is Oban with ferries to Mull and Iona. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our time at Clachaig in the beech chalet. The staff were very helpful and 'real' people who were happy to help and we didn't feel at all that we were part of a hotel' machine' The chalet is not luxurious in the sense of a luxury appartment but it is totally comfortable and has an incredible view of the mountain. Lovely comfy sofas and a well decked out kitchen.

The communication before arriving was good, I was able to order very good products from their local partners. Caroline was available for myany questions and was most helpful during the stay. The chalet's location is stunning, it was cosy despite rubbish weather. A few things could do with upgrading: the beds are a bit narrower than standard beds (both the double and the singles) even though there would be ample room to add 10 cm everywhere. The cooker was also narrower than the space so I kept dropping food down the gap and having to retrieve it. The windows could all do with a clean (but that could be my France standards speaking). Other than that, everything was great: quiet, decent WiFi, smart TV, cosy. We had a great time

The Clachaig is something of a legend in the Highlands, and so to be based there is a great boon for walkers and mountaineers. You're assured a warm welcome, but if you want some private space, then the lodges provide a really good option. The proprietors have clearly thought about their clientele and provided comfy, cosy spaces for those who want to explore the the area. There is really no need to take anything beyond personal kit: the kitchen is well equipped, including dishwasher and washer-dryer; a decent selection of cooking equipment is also included; towels and linen is of hotel quality and the beds are comfortable. Hot water, electric showers and gas fire are all easy to use and effective.
We visited in July, so no need for heating: the airing cupboard was, therefore, present but not warm, meaning if we'd had a really wet week we'd have been in trouble for drying space for waterproofs. Likewise, there wasn't an obvious place to put muddy footwear.
None of this is a major problem, but in the context of a slightly aggressively worded dog policy it suggests the concern is really about chewing damage rather than about cleanliness? Nevertheless we found the fully carpeted chalets cosy but potentially challenging if weather had been worse. Despite the wording of the policy, though, our lovely dog was made very welcome in the Inn.
In the words of someone we met, it's possible to find plusher chalets in the area, but the beauty of this accommodation is that you can go in confidence that everything you need will be there and you'll have a comfortable stay. We will definitely return. A great walking base and, if you coincide with one of the live music nights, a great walking bass too!

We have stayed in the Beech chalet several times over the last few years and are never disappointed. The setting is stunning. Within walking distance of Glencoe village and ideally situated to experience mountain and valley walks or cycle on Cycle Route 78. The Beech chalet is spotlessly clean and is equipped to meet all needs including a washing machine, which is a must for our activity breaks. One can self cater or enjoy the food of the Clachaig Inn. Looking forward to our return next year!

We have stayed at Clachaig chalets a number of times and the location is perfect, the views from the chalets could not be better and we will probably stay again next year, however beech chalet although clean is now looking a little tired and could do with an overhaul, but saying that, the view and location overcome the one or two tiny niggles such as the cooker hood dripping grease onto the top of the cooker when in use, it does need a good clean !

We have visited the Clachaig Inn for many years but this was our first time staying on the site and we will most definitely return.

From the initial booking communication with the reservation staff who made everything so easy to the chalet itself and the fantastic food and range of drinks in the inn as well as the entertainment and the atmosphere in general it was just what we needed to start the new year.

I've stayed at the Clachaig Inn and their chalets many times. They are always clean and warm and the staff are very friendly and useful should you need them. The chalet comes with cooker, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. If you don't feel like cooking, there are always excellent bar meals at the Inn less than 100yds away. An excellent place to stay in if you're planning to explore around Fort William or Oban. Highly recommended!

Bad odour on entry, thick dust inside radiators, insufficient mugs, bowls. There was a Dish Washer and we were having to hand wash after a couple of hours not economical or environmentally friendly. Bathroom window would not open without extreme brute
force, some of the other windows would not stay open.
On the plus side we found the sofas comfortable, the beds were comfy, linen and towels very nice, tv very good and wifi very good.
Great views, location and walks.

The chalet is well equipped and comfortable and in a superb location, with outstanding views. The kitchen has both dishwasher and washer/dryer - very useful when out walking each day and you want to get clothes clean for the next day. The beds are comfortable and linens / towels were clean and fresh. The only small suggestion would be a little more crockery and cutlery - some items were down to just four, which means very regular dishwashing cycles! Overall, a great stay and would definitely come again - and with the Clachaig Inn next door, that makes it even better!

Back again for another anticipated stay at the Clachaig Beech Chalet. As usual our stay was relaxing in the most stunning location on the planet. The staff as always were welcoming and accommodating and the food delicious although we self catered for most of our stay. The Beech chalet was it's usual charming self with almost everything we needed. We come every year and even if it rains we are never disappointed. I am already looking forward to next year! Thanks guys.

We were very disappointed with the view of the mountains. When we booked the chalet we were informed that the view was superior to that from the upstairs bedroom in the hotel where we had stayed previously. That was not true as trees obstructed the view from the chalet.
This was very disappointing as during our stay the weather was poor with long periods of rain which confined us to the chalet.

This was the second time we have stayed at this chalet, it still has all the great benefits of its location and the bars in the inn, nothing else can compete for us out door types.
However, there are signs that this chalet needs some attention because of age and use.
Our mattress was shot, there is a dip in the middle, don’t know when it was last changed but tomorrow would be good.
The extractors in the bathrooms are noisy because of age.
The a drains give you feedback with smells after showering, that is perhaps a plumbing issue.
The bedrooms could do with a blinds not curtains.
Having said all this have booked again.

We have stayed in Oak Beech and Birch Chalets for the last seven years with friends and family for various celebratory occasions
And each time have never been disappointed. The scenery is awesome and the whole of the Glen Coe area is magical and having stayed in the area for over 13 years we still find something and somewhere new. The Clachaig Inn is a great favourite with us all and the Boots Bar is a must for good beer, food and atmosphere. The Bidean Bar is a bonus for families with young children. The reception staff bar staff and cleaning crews are fantastic and make the Clachaig the best place to stay.

The chalet was very warm and cosy however we could not get any hot water from any basin/sink tap even with all electrical switches left on for hot water boost.

i am a plumber of 35 years but didn't have my tools with me to investigate!

its only a suggestion but an LPG gas combi would be brilliant for better quieter showers and hot water every where else (as long as you have good water pressure of course).

we will return 100%

First time booked a chalet as stayed in the pub before a few times. Took our dog and as stayed in plenty of dog friendly cabins this by far was the cleanest we have ever encountered. Very comfortable and a great gas log burner. Everything you need and great views of mountains when not foggy or dark.

Overall the chalet was ok however the white kettle in the kitchen was very stained inside and needs to be replaced and was not used during our stay, we used a pan instead. The frying pan was dirty so we used the wok instead, it was clean and unused. The bedding was a bit grubby, one of the quilt covers was stained and the quilts and pillows on the single beds were smelly and were not very clean. The bathrooms were nice though and the sitting room was ok, the hot water was extremely hot and could be dangerous for a child. The main TV kept going off most nights, maybe it was the weather?

Beech Chalet, like the other chalets, is like a home from home. Everything you could want and more. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food in the inn is superb, especially the haggis, neeps and tatties. Have booked my next stay already for 2022 and I can't wait to go back. I cannot recommend Claichag Inn and Beech Chalet highly enough.

Spacious chalet and in a great location. However, the whole place needs cleaning fully and the unhygienic kitchen utensils replacing. Rust-encrusted toaster, filthy kettle, worn washing-up bowl, old black greasy pans, rusty bread knife - these aren’t fit to use. The lounge lamp is full of dead flies, the bathrooms pretty mouldy and the pipes block and overflow with every shower. Some care and attention would fix these issues with not too much effort. The best thing was the roaring gas fire and the balcony views.

It was our first time staying in Scotland and we all had an amazing time. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome the park was great for the kids and plenty to walk nearby to keep the kids entertained. The lodges we stayed in the beach lodge and other family members stayed in the oak lodge. They were spacious and very cosy. There was 12 of us in our party and we had enough space to entertain us all.

We had a fantastic week staying in the Beech Chalet, with it's stunning views from the lounge/veranda of the great mountains towering above us. The chalet had everything we needed with the added bonus of the Inn being close by for food and drink for when we didn't feel like cooking or needed a drink to cool down as we were lucky to have a full week of sunshine. The chalet is ideally situated for great walks directly from it and there is so much to do in the area we would definitely like to return again. It was great that our dog could stay too and thank you for letting me re-date the trip a few times due to the pandemic so my son got to finally celebrate his 18th birthday treat a year later than planned.

I have been staying at the Clachaig Inn and it's chalets for many years. Last year I couldn't stay due to the pandemic so this year was even more special. Lovely, friendly Inn, beautiful location... what more could you want?!

Had a great stay in the Beech chalet. Clean, comfortable & warm. Minor issues were: fridge freezer worked but had seen better days; shower worked but sounded like a jumbo jet taking off; lounge tv had no signal (reported to reception but not fixed) so if I wanted to watch tv had to do it in the bedroom. However, none of these stopped me from having the most wonderful, relaxing weekend in a lovely chalet with a view to die for. I'd go back tomorrow!

We have stayed in the clachaig inn chalets over the last 5 years with family members and at one time staying in 3 chalets. We would recomend this type of holiday whatever you are looking to do. The area of GlenCoe is awesome and there are so many places to explore near and far. This year things were a bit different because of the virus but the Clachaig had everything covered very well. Looking forward to next year hopefully and hope to see the boots bar back to its rocking best.

A well appointed cabin in a stunning location. Plenty of outdoor activities in the surrounding area. The Inn itself serves great food and drink if you don't want to cater for yourselves. We would definitely book again if we were looking for another holiday in the area.

We have been coming to stay at The Clachaig for many years and it is like coming home. This is due to the kindness of the staff who are absolutely wonderful- all of them, and our hearts are with them during this Pandemic because providing holidays for people under such difficult circumstances is so challenging. They do so with positivity and kindness and it is a privilege to stay each and every time.
The view from the chalet is absolutely incredible and it is like an alpine meadow. The accommodation is beautiful and has a cosy feel throughout. The kitchen is very well stocked, although we didn't use it much preferring to eat in the bar which is our favourite place in the world!
We have a small dog called Pebbles who adores the Clachaig as much as we do and knows her way to the bar and all around the grounds on her lead! She is made so welcome and it is so lovely to be able to eat with her in the bar.
Living in Essex it is a long drive to The Clachaig for us, but we miss the place as soon as we leave and have to plot the next visit as soon as work allows!
I would recommend this chalet and The Clachaig to anyone. It is like coming home and it holds a very very special place in our lives for which we are so grateful.
I would say to anyone book this and don't be afraid of the autumn and winter seasons. The colours are incredible and the trees turn golden in the Autumn and the cottage has views that will take your breath away. The way the cottage faces means there is nothing obstructing your view to the mountains, and the skies at night are amazing. The winters have snow and then you really are in an alpine chalet!

Lovely location, good communication in advance.

Chalet comfy, good living space, well supplied with glasses/ dishes etc.

I felt the cleanliness of crockery and high chair were not of good standard, having to clean much of it before use - unexpected generally, but specifically in pandemic.... Similarly windowsills/ lamps etc all covered in dust - I accept only reopened recently, but, would have expected more attention to detail. Our heating had a problem, quickly resolved when we contacted reception.

Given the location, and the expectation of lots of people being outdoors, the chalet would have benefitted from mesh on windows to reduce midges in the house, and, drying facilities for boots - the fireplace worked really well for this!! Meant we had to have the fire on which would otherwise have been unnecessary at this time of year!

In the Inn (which we went to for drinks and meals) - good atmosphere, very friendly staff. Sometimes felt like still finding their feet around staffing levels for table only service, so long periods of waiting experienced at some points, but, service with a smile, apologies for delay, and good quality food made it worthwhile. Well done to the staff on the floor for this!

These small suggestions are made to be constructive - we had a great week and would highly recommend!

We arrived at the property and were very happy with the location and especially the view from the chalet, apart from the weather we really enjoyed our stay. On our first night we discovered that the oven did not work and were straight away offered a free meal in Clachaigs restaurant. The oven was repaired the next day and must conclude that the service the whole week was first class. We will certainly return, hopefully next year.

Stayed in Beech Chalet last week of August - location was great, access to the pub was key. It's the pub that makes this rental great, you can get back late and walk down for food and a beer. The chalet itself is good, comfortable layout but needs a little work. It's a little dirty with spider webs on the outside porch, which has floor boards that are rotting away, and some of the kitchen supplies should be replaced. But it's a nicer layout inside than the pictures show. Also, like many spots in Europe there are no screens on the windows, which only open an inch or two, which is too bad it would have been great to be able to air out the chalet, as it was so nice outside at night but stuffy during the day (it was actually warm when we were there). Because of those issues it may be a little over-priced for the space, but the pub makes up for it.

Good break all round. Love Clachaig and Glencoe. Beech was also a lovely clean, comfortable and well equipped chalet. The only eyebrow raiser was the £10/night charge, £70, for our little Yorkshire terrier the size of a brush head. Would have preferred to have paid a £70 bond returnable on keys hardback. Other than this, brilliant.

The location is amazing, the views are great and access to walks fantastic.
The chalet itself is comfy and warm and has all the things you need. Although the bathrooms need updating they are clean and the showers are hot.
It is right next to the pub which serves excellent food and has live music at weekends.
A great place to stay!

Comfortable chalet, great view, very quiet. We took advantage of the convenient access to super pub food and well curated drinks. Lots to do in the surrounding area. Our kids really enjoyed the largely phone-free holiday, we played games and spent time together from ice climbing to walks to simple pleasure of stone skimming.

Beech Chalet is positioned in a beautiful part of Glencoe looking out on the glen through woodland and streams.

The chalet itself is very clean, warm and comfortable with everything one needs for the perfect self catering experience. The staff at the hotel are delightful and the Boots Bar great fun to visit with excellent ales and whiskies and plenty of opportunity to taste before you buy. We have been coming here for many years now and have never had anything other than a most pleasant stay.

We feel so happy and refreshed after a week at this beautiful place and look forward very much to our next visit. Thank you to all the wonderful team.

We booked for a week at Clachaig in the Beech chalet with my other half and her parents.

It acted as a great hub to our various trips around the highlands providing facilities for us to comfortably cook ourselves if we fancied it, or defer to the excellent bar and kitchen at Clachaig's pub (which we did a few times!).

The Boots bar hosted a Celtic band on our first night, which was a great way to start to trip and get into the swing of things.

The staff were helpful, the food & drink excellent and the Chalet was spacious (for 4 adults) and well equipped.

Can't wait to come back!

Warm welcome at the start although surprised by the emphasis on dog rules. Can only suppose there have been poor dog owners to stay in the past.

Chalet with everything we needed. Fantastic picture window views and clear hot weather made the area even more beautiful.

We have never seen Glencoe look so benign! There is usually a haunted feel to the area, but this week the sun shone all the time. We enjoyed wonderful walks and the dog enjoyed keeping clean in the unpolluted mountain streams.

During 50 years of married life with many self-catering holidays, Beech Chalet must rank as the most memorable. Whilst this is obviously an ideal location for walkers and climbers, as senior citizens, we still enjoyed a regular local wander, very contented to look at the magnificent scenery all around us. We much enjoyed our early morning encounter with the deer at our verandah. As a real ale enthusiast, the on-site access of a wide range of beers together with good food - without requiring the car - was an added bonus!

We are certainly hoping to return.

We used this chalet as "base camp" for our winter climbing expedition. It was perfect for the 2 of us with enough space to be private, including 2 separate bathrooms, and a good deal of space and heated areas to hang our wet clothes!

Location spot on (for access to the Ben and obviously Glen Coe) and ideally situated at the end of the Aonach Eagach ridge.

Will definitely be back!
