To the front of the house is a mature lawned garden with decking area, and to rear of the house there is ample car parking and a port for one car. Property can accommodate 7 on two floors.

Cottage very comfortable with exception of beds where mattresses were beyond firm, and downright hard! Well equipped with exception of bathroom windows and kitchen door which did not have blinds. With darkness falling by 8pm, lack of blinds meant no baths after this time. Also no grab handles for bath or shower!

However, cottage has wonderful views at front and sides, plus access to lochan and variety of walks from back garden. Also, staff at Clachaig could not have been more helpful so would certainly recommend.

The house is spacious and very comfortable, and very well equipped to be warm if needed in cooler weather. Great beds, pillows and linen, good kitchen facilities, a lovely dining room with plenty of seating should you need it. Enjoyed watching the setting sun, with a wine and cheese, from the front deck. Easy access to Glen Coe day walks. We enjoyed Devils Staircase for spectacular glen views - many directions. Enjoyed our meals at the host inn. Recommend also the National Trust visitor centre - it has two short films on the area, great coffee, weather reports and walking track advice from experienced staff. History of mountain rescue too. We also enjoyed visiting the National Trust turf house there ( tour at 2pm fabulous) and seeing the highland cows! Supermarket with everything at town Ballachulish 5 minutes before Glen Coe.

Lovely cottage in small village. Perfect for exploring Glencoe and surrounding area. Despite going in winter the cottage was warm and well equipped.
Obviously not the owners problem but shame there was a digger directly in view line towards loch.

We all enjoyed our stay at Camus Bhan, the situation of the house allowed us to watch beautiful sunsets down the loch. The kitchen was well stocked although some more mugs/cups and forks would have been handy. It was an easy to heat home, the showers were a good temperature and pressure, having three bathrooms was very handy for everyone getting ready. We used the food delivery, there were a couple of small problems which were easily and quickly sorted. The eggs were amazing, proper free range eggs with deep orange yolks.
A very central home, easy reach of local walks, shops and cafes. I would love to return to Camus Bhan again.

Great location wonderful sunset views. Great for walking mamores glen etive etc. Clean and tidy. Comfy beds. Large sitting room and dinning room. No porch to dump wet clothes and boots so use kitchen and hallway with care to avoid mess. Downstairs bathroom ok for drying as well. Upstairs en-suites tiny but functional. Open fire dining room electric fire in sitting room. Seems warm, radiators do get hot if used, but not really needed when I was there

First of all, the location is phantastic. The view from the windows is amazing (dependent on wheater condition). The accomodation is large and offers enough space. The equipment is as described.
The accomodation is not in the best possible condition. Some expamples: There are a lot of carpets and rugs in the flat and some of them smells like dogs - especially in the kitchen. We remove these rugs during our stay and the stench was gone. The dish washer doesn't work well. He did not clean the top compartment, so we had to clean the most dishes per hand. Some plastic parts inside the fridge are missing. The fabric of the chairs in the dining room has unsightly stains.

Glencoe/Ballachulish is the best place to explore the Glencoe and its mountains which is - in our opinion - the most exciting place in Scotland (and we have seen a lot of attraction and beautiful landscapes around Scotland). We enjoyed our stay very much despite the constant rainy weather. If the owner invests a little and corrects the deficiencies described, Camus Bhan can only be strongly recommended as a perfect holiday accommodation.

Brought my in-laws for a week to celebrate my daughter graduating college and my in-laws 65th wedding Anniversary. Managed to find short walks for the elderly, challenging Monroe’s for the more energetic of us. This was a great location. Cottage could be improved by adding some more cutlery ( with 6 people we ran the dishwasher after every meal) and making sure basic spices, like salt and pepper, are full.
This was a fantastic holiday and I would stay in this cottage again.

A comfortable place to stay for a family of 5 and good value. Had a few phone calls with the reception staff after a mix up with the food delivery that I had ordered for our arrival and they were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't bother getting food delivered again because the co-op is nearby with good opening hours (we used the form provided by Clachaig Holidays before we went to have food ready for us on arrival but we ordered 4 steaks to be delivered for the Saturday and only 2 arrived and couldn't be delivered until Tuesday so we had to go shopping for our evening meal then anyway) .Camus Bhan is a great base - one of our sons was doing some Munroes so it was perfect for him, and Grandma just wanted to sit and relax whilst looking out over the Loch so perfect for her too. Could do with a little more info on recycling - what goes in which colour bin and glass needs to be taken to bottle bank at the co-op but this is a small point and we would definitely recommend!

We had another great stay at Camus Bhan. The weather was damp and windy but we still managed to do lots of great local walks, and even a day’s skiing at Glencoe. The cottage is so cosy to come back to and heats up quickly. Maybe we’ll get to visit in the summer when the nights will be lighter. A great location and walkable to the Clachaig for lunch, which was great!

The house provided a perfect location for our stay. The bedrooms were comfortable & esp the front bedrooms had great views of the Loch, as was the view from the patio door in the spacious lounge area. The seating was perfect for our group, comfortable & accommodated the 6 of us well. The large dining table was good & we found the kitchen equipped & easy to use. The house was warm & the downstairs bathroom was spacious & bath & separate shower was good. The dog loved the garden (though would have liked gates a dog couldn't get through) but wasnt a problem, & the access to the wee track at the back of the house was much used to walk up to the wee lochen & woods at the back of Camus Bhan. The Clachaig Inn was a lovely place to eat & drink (friendly, welcoming staff & most dog friendly) The location was excellent to pop up Glencoe, Glen Etive etc & coastwards to both Oban & Fort William. A lovely home for our break.

Excellent location comfortable accommodation. Well supplied kitchen. Bedrooms decent size all with.

Brilliant location for accessing glencoe mountains mammores glen etive and fort William. Spacious with good en-suite facilities. Kitchen well stocked and great re tea towels kitchen roll cligfilm plus some tea coffee milk and biscuits. Very clean and tidy. Only issue was hot water heating. It worked fine at first then latter part of week ok in morning but unreliable in the evening. Absolutely no idea why and some one did come out to fix it. Worked that night then weird again

The cottage is beautifully located and the welcome pack was very thoughtful. We enjoyed our stay with our dogs but were surprised that the garden had no secure spaces to let the dogs out unleashed - this was a minor detail as once we were up and dressed there was no shortage of places outside both the front and back gates to take the dogs for wonderful walks and swims. However, mornings for the humans (especially when raining) would have benefited from a small, safe, fenced off area in the garden for the dogs. That said, we had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend this property. We would definitely rent Camus Bhan again.

The house’s location is great, if you are looking for beautiful surroundings and outdoor activities.
The rooms on ground floor is spacious, the rooms upstairs are smaller, especially the shower/WC. Some furniture has definitely seen better days but the house is clean and tidy.
Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, however the cutlery was not so many as one would have hoped for. The refrigerator was also struggling a bit, to keep the food cold.
In summary we are very pleased with our stay, the house suited us well (5 adults).

Lovely holiday home but in need of a bit of TLC.
All staff I dealt with are really helpfull Ann Marie on reception and John the man who repaired the leak which was dealt with quickly.

Lots of space and everything you need to enjoy your self catering holiday as a large family or two small families..

Great location and I would stay there again.

Excellent location with good access to local attractions plus great views from the front decking. Brilliant access to dog walks from the back gate to the lochan up the hill. Only negative in terms of the dogs was a lack of secure fencing and gates. This didn’t matter to us as ours don’t wander but may be an issue with some owners.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camus Bhan. It was a home from home for the week we stayed there, it had all the home comforts needed (and the heating was perfect for the time of year we went!). The communication from Clachaig Holidays in advance was good and was also good whilst we there. There was an issue with the washing machine that needed fixing and we were kept well informed of when that was happening, when there was a delay etc. It didn't affect our stay at all.

Waking up to the views across the Loch every morning was fantastic, even if it was raining most days! The location was great - plenty of walks from the doorstep, a 10 minute walk to the local bar/ restaurant in Glencoe and within an hour of Oban and Fort William for amenities. The value for money for our stay was really good, we would definitely stay there again the next time we visit the area!

Very good place to stay for walking around Glencoe and Ben Nevis area.
Kitchen is very well equipped. Large dining room for 8 people.
Ample parking and back gate leading to short walk to Lochan.
Large bedrooms. Very large lounge.
Very reasonable price for a weeks holiday.
We were a party of 3 adults and 3 children. Lots of room for everyone.

Camus Bhan is the best equipped self catering cottage in which we have ever stayed making it a delightful place for a home from home holiday Support is excellent and a blocked shower was fixed within hours of reporting it.The views across the loch are super and there’s a little beach from which to swim two minutes walk from the house. The tracks behind the house provide great opportunities for walking and our two dogs appreciated that very much. However, if you do not like a very firm mattress - this is not for you as the beds are rock hard!

Great location, right on edge of Ivercoe. Nice views from front porch, all amenities as expected. There were only 5 of us but the property was properly set up for 7, since there were 3 bathrooms and plenty of living accomodation.

Service from Clachaig holidays was appropriate.

Would book again.

The house was the perfect location with such nice walks locally that were accessible from right out the back door! The view was the perfect setting to each day, and we were very blessed with the weather meaning lots of pretty sunsets over the loch! The Clachaig were fab and let us in 3 hours early so our baby could get an afternoon nap, and even though they were short staffed because of covid the food and service was fab! Already booked to stay again at new year!

Splendid place, only problem is forcing yourself out onto the hills instead of sitting on the patio admiring the view. However, we managed it eventually with a total of 26 Munro ascents between five of us, from the Mamores to Bridge of Orchy, which gives you an idea of the scope.
BUT - don't know if lockdown is to blame, but everywhere is crowded out. No quiet hills left any more, though obviously the Munros are always going to be the busiest, and parking is a real problem.
Great place to stay though, and well served by food outlets, though you have to be off the hills a bit earlier than we're used to if you want to take advantage of them. The beer in the Clachaig was excellent, as always.

Felt very lucky to have chanced upon Camus Bhan at a time when self catering property was scarce. The house is in a fantastic location with views that, even in the worst weather, were spectacular. Rooms are large and kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Dining room is an especially lovely room to linger over breakfast looking at the view. Only slight niggle was the sofas in the living room were very low and uncomfortable to sit on for long. Lovely walk to lochan trails from back of house. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

Fabulous house with lots of amenities. the kitchen is well equipped with washer, dryer and dishwasher. loved the dishes, specially the big plates, only the large pan should be replaced, as well as the sofa in the living room. it is quite worn and makes you feel like sitting on the floor. but besides that, the house offers everything you need and more. beds are superb and the views fantastic. it always felt like coming home and we already missed the house after we left.

A well appointed and well equipped house, comfortable accommodation for three adult couples. Superb location with direct access to forest footpaths, and simple access to the shore of Loch Leven. West facing for fabulous sunset views over the water. Blessed with unseasonable good weather during our stay.
Only gripe was the dishwasher (reported to the owners) which didn’t do its job well!
We would certainly consider returning.

The house suited our family perfectly, it was warm and comfortable and the en suite bathrooms were a bonus. The real star here though is the setting. Waking each morning to the Loch and mountain view was enervating. The short walk to the Glencoe Lochan directly from the back door is already much missed. No snow this Christmas but we managed to have enormous fun sledging after a scenic chair lift ride at the ski resort. The Nevis Range gondolas were also a great experience and as there wasn’t a cloud in the sky we could see for miles from both viewpoints. Walks included the Devil’s Staircase, the Lost Valley, Cuil Bay and to the top of the hill with the Tele-mast among others. A fabulous fortnight filled with fun and festivities helped along by the friendly staff at the Glencoe Inn and of course the Clachaig. Highly recommended.

Perfect for quiet week in Glencoe

Honestly couldn't fault our stay. The view was amazing and location was perfect and close enough to drive to other towns but far enough from the bustle of holidayers. Beautiful walking trail right from the back yard. We stayed with 3 but would easily be able to fit 3 more without getting in each others way. Even though it was self catering apart from food we didn't need anything else with little pieces here and there like coffee and milk or shampoo provided and the beds were super comfy! Will be back again!!

Excellent house and area to visit.

The house is in a perfect location but I’m afraid it is in need of some renovation of the bedrooms upstairs. The showers in both rooms upstairs are quite poor. My bed in the twin room was extremely uncomfortable and full of lumpy springs. The toilets were not clean and we had to clean them when we arrived. My father is 95 and he needed a walk in shower but he couldn’t manage the one in the main bathroom. Needs to be more disabled friendly. We only had one dirty looking tea towel in the kitchen and when I phoned the hotel to ask for more and also to report the toilets were dirty the person who answered said they would bring some tea towels and they would report the dirty toilets to housekeeping. We didn’t receive the tea towels or an apology about the toilets.

First of all I would like to say Camus Bhan is not disabled friendly and we do not market it as such. I have spoken to housekeeping about the toilet issue and they have assured me that they had double checked everything so they were confident that the toilets were clean. I can only apologise that we never got any more tea towels down to you. We hope this does not put you off booking with us again. I would suggest however booking somewhere that is disabled friendly if you father requires this.

The checkin was delayed over two hours because of a problem in the hotel. But in the meantime we can store something in the house. Another problem with a defect fuse by the washing machine was solved on the next day.
In general nice location, friendly reception - some chicks from the neighbor allways around! Good place for the Glencoe area!

Another fantastic holiday in Glencoe, Clachaig holidays are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble, booking was very easy. We have visited Glencoe and stayed in Clachaig properties lots of times over the years. My only comments would be they need a few more bits of cutlery ( wooden spoon, serving spoons etc) and the mattresses were not very comfortable, but other than that Camus Bhan is a lovely place to stay, very homely and welcoming.

En suite in double room upstairs - broken toilet flush, shower drain partially blocked.
Kitchen - only 2 dishwasher tablets supplied ?10p worth, yet hire charge~£500, so have to go shopping if wanted to use dishwasher. Pedal bin broken, no heating in kitchen, sink plug leaked.
Heating - ON/Off times a mystery, no details of times supplied & requested not to touch timer. Only lounge could be made warm enough, though it was very cold outside eg -6C
Lighting - bulbs either missing or dead in lounge and hall
Bins - not emptied
Lounge - lovely views and could be made warm
Downstairs bathroom - window left open & difficult to close

A short stay at Camhus Barn - dissapointed.

The location of the property is magnificent which is what drew is to the location, alongside the reputation of the Clachaig inn for excellent service. However, despite a wonderful stay our experience was marred by a few issues that would make any otherwise average holiday cottage outstanding.

The greeting at the reception was perfunctory to say the least - here's the keys. And instructions. Lacked that pleased to see a new customer feel; how can I help you etc?

First the kitchen; equipped with cheap knives, one tea towel (for 4 persons, for one week?) and no welcome pack of local milk, bread, eggs etc (very much a regular feature in top drawer holiday cottages we have used in the past).

The living room furniture is very tired and now very poorly upholstered and uncomfortable. Needs replacing.

The central heating system is restrictive in the sense that you are unable to set the timer for anything other than a one hour blast and then have to get up and press advance - fine in the summer of course but not in a cold winter returning off the hill with wet clothes.

Overall I had the sense that the emphasis is on getting the cash in, keeping the overheads down, and no real interest in the client at all. While the points above may seem picky, I would expect the detail to be nailed given the £675 price tag for a 1 week stay.

Great location. Dissapointed with the overall quality.

Very sorry to hear that you were disappointed withyour stay and weren't able to give a better review. To go through the specific points you make: We constantly talk about the welcome we give our customers on arrival, recognising that the first point of contact is always critical. I'm surprised that you describe it as perfunctory as a result, as this isn't the general experience we get from our feedback from guests at the inn and to our self catering properties. Sometimes it's a fine line between cutting to the detail for weary travelers keen to get settled inn, and appearing a little short on welcome and detail. The knives in the property are new in the last few months, but if the knives we lacking or the number of tea towels (there should have been 2) then a quick phone call would have resolved the issue. We keep a stock of many items at the inn. We don't offer and don't provide milk, bread, eggs etc for arrival. We do provide ground coffee and a selection of teas, plus speciality biscuits and a range of bathroom consumables. We do provide information on the nearest shops and their opening times. We also provide a grocery order service, so that should you wish to arrive to bread, eggs etc this can be arranged for you with mininal effort. You are correct in that the sofa in the lounge isn't the best. We recognise this and actually have new on order, due to arrive late March. In addition we are replacing the dining table and chairs, and will hopefully be redecorating this month too. The easy chairs were brand new in 2017. The central heating is pre-set to regular morning and evening times, as in most domestic scenarios. However, you have full control over the timers and can advance it as often as you wish. You can even reprogramme it, though we prefer that you don't. It is possible to run it 24hrs too. There is information about the location of the controls in the detailed welcome notes. Alternatively, if not to your satisfaction, a phone call to the inn would have prompted assistance in this matter. The sense that we are simply "getting the cash in" is most regrettable, and we struggle to see where this comes from. We aim to provide an honest, genuine and high level of service, and the wider feedback we actively solicit is a means of monitoring our progress towards this aim. Sincerely sorry to hear that you think we've fallen wide of the mark on this occasion, though do note that you say that you had a wonderful stay. The points raised will be discussed between owners, management team, reception, maintenance and housekeeping, and we will aim to ensure that use them to continuously evaluate and improve the service we offfer.
