The Thatch is a beautiful 1 bedroom, Grade 11 listed, Cotswold stone cottage in the highly desirable Westington area of Chipping Campden.

A perfect romantic retreat with under floor heating, a log burning stove in an inglenook fireplace, cosy kitchen, bathroom and a large bedroom with oak flooring, views of the garden and of the Medieval market town of Chipping Campden.

Large garden set to lawn, borders and patio with a table and chairs for alfresco dining.

The Thatch is a grade 2 listed cottage. It is accessed via a small lane which is a little tricky to reverse out of, but we managed without too much hassle.

The cottage itself is stone built with a thatched roof. It is compact, but very quaint inside. Due to the age of the cottage it is very difficult to keep pristine, but overall, the standard of cleanliness was acceptable as opposed to pristine or poor.

The lounge is comfortable, with a large wood burner available. We used it once on a cool day and it soon warmed the entire cottage.

The bathroom was quite spacious, a nice roll top bath with a shower attachment. (Can't be used as a shower but ideal for washing hair etc)

The kitchen is small, with a double gas hob, and electric oven. Also a fridge with a freezer compartment. Plenty of pots, pans and cutlery available. The kitchen is "compact" we took turns washing and drying as it's a struggle to fit in 2 people and move around.

The upstairs bedroom is accessed via a wooden staircase. As stated in the description, it would be unsuitable if you're not good on your feet as it's steep and turns, as expected in a period property.

The cottage is located a couple of hundred metres from Chipping Campden village centre.

The village is beautiful. Indeed the only thing that outshines the main road are the chocolate box cottages that surround The Thatch. Incredibly beautiful.

Short trip to Broadway etc, a great location.

The cottage lived up to our expectations and we would recommend to friends.

A very beautiful part of the world.

We enjoyed sitting out in the walled garden in the warm June weather. The cottage was cute and comfortable, and well equipped.

We had a lovely stay at The Thatch for six nights. The garden is absolutely stunning and very private. We could really switch off. It was great being within walking distance of town as well.

Our only complaints are:
- there’s no shower, so I had to sit down in the bath to wash my hair every day which was a chore
- the stairs are precarious (I fell on them), so they could do with some anti-slip strips on them
- the bed creaked badly so every time my husband moved in the night, I got woken up.

Had a very comfortable stay at The Thatch. Comfy bed, clean, well-equipped, beautiful cottage garden that is quiet and private - great place to sit and relax and enjoy the lovely scented plants and flowers. Appreciated the kindling and firewood left for cosy nights in front of the fire. Short walk to Chipping Campden Main Street, even shorter if you take the public byway walk through the field. Locals were very friendly. Nearby to country walking trails. Would definitely recommend. Make sure you prebook a taxi/private car if you don't have your own transport and arrive by train to the train station about 15-20 min drive away.

Small garden area in the back was charming, with a couple of pheasants to look at from time to time. Very quiet location not far from High Street.
We were disappointed upon arrival. Much smaller than expected. A "one butt" kitchen. Was not well stocked with the basic cooking tools (spatula) The microwave is located in another room in a closet behind a chair. Instructions to use the oven were not helpful. Could not get the DVD player to work. No dryer.....Needed to request a clothes rack. We recommend the owners stay in there themselves for a week or two and then determine what improvements should make.

Grateful for a place to park....but it required a back-out guide for every time we wanted to leave.

I was continually making apologies to my wife for not making a better lodging decision....but we got used to it, and we were OK there the last two days. We judge our stay by "would I stay there again, or recommend it to a friend? No and No. Apologies.

An absolutely charming little cottage in a beautiful Cotswolds village.

Effortless communication, booking and check-in from the hosts. The cottage itself was very well provisioned with everything we needed for our weeks stay, as well as some lovely bonus thoughtful touches (a surprise bottle of wine to welcome us as well as a ready laid fire). The property was spotlessly clean. We felt very comfortable and relaxed. (Very comfy bed also!)

Our hosts left lots of helpful info about places to visit nearby. We managed some nice walks even in the wintery weather. The village itself if very cute with plenty of nice coffee shops, pubs and restaurants.

Overall a wonderful stay. Many thanks to our hosts. We would come back again for sure.

Lovely bijou, cozy cottage in a peaceful location, a short walk in to Chipping Camden. Well equiped with a particularly comfy bed . Parking a little tricky at first, fine once mastered by reversing in . All in all an enjoyable, relaxing week.

Ideal location, very quiet and very accessible for walks and exploring Chipping Campden without using the car. Could be tricky if not keen on reversing when exiting the lane.

My partner and I were a bit stuck after our air b n b cancelled on us last minute! We were already an hour in to our 3 hour drive to the Cotswolds so we’re desperately searching for somewhere to stay last minute. We found the thatch and booked it immediately! Andy was quick to send the confirmation through and prepare the cottage for us, being extremely helpful throughout the process. We were over the moon when we arrived at our cosy weekend getaway spot, not only was it clean it was just a lovely space in a wonderful location. We’ll definitely be booking it again if we find ourselves heading to the Cotswolds!

We had a very relaxing few days at The Thatch. It was close enough to the town and yet felt secluded and full of history. The garden is absolutely beautiful! The only issue for us was that the bathroom is downstairs and this is the reason that we gave it four stars for comfort rather than five. Can't be helped - it's an old property and there's nowhere else for the bathroom - we managed fine but you need to be able to get up and down narrow wooden stairs in the middle of the night! Other than that our stay was perfect! Spotlessly clean and superb customer service from Andy - thank you!

The Thatch in Chipping Campden is an absolutely delightful place to be! We loved the location, just a short walk through the grain field to High Street for dinner or tea or shopping. The cottage is comfortable and cozy and the garden is quite lovely. I especially enjoyed sitting in the garden enjoying the beautiful scent of the lavender growing there. Andy and his wife are very, very helpful and provide excellent service. She even stopped over on a minute's notice to show us how to light the stove. I highly recommend The Thatch as a home base from which to enjoy the Cotswolds!

Beautiful little cottage, full of character with a lovely small garden and parking . Lovely position just on the edge of the village with a short walk across the footpath through the field to the Village centre.
We had a lovely few days away , with everything to hand.

We stayed at the Thatch for one week in June and everything was just as expected through the booking process to paying and arriving and entering the cottage, the directions and instructions were perfectly clear. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to the area and use Honeypot cottages again. Everything was available in the cottage which we needed. The gardens are beautiful with a real cottage feel and due to the sunny weather we had drinks and some meals outside. We didn't feel overlooked from the neighbours even though there are some nearby. The cottage is in a perfect area of other old properties and within easy walking distance to the main street.

Pros- Beautiful, safe, very private and quiet area. Easy access to town by a short walk. Lovely garden and easily felt at home.
Cons- Low ceilings, tub with no curtain was a challenge for using the shower handle to not make a mess, regulating the temperature upstairs was a little bit difficult.
