Another wonderful stay in our favourite apartment. For the 1st time in years, the weather let us down so the view wasn’t what it usually is. The wind was cold so we didn’t really use Porthmeor beach as the harbour was more sheltered. Home from home in the flat though so we’ll be back.

This accommodation is great, in the centre of St Ives,
It has everything you need, but the best thing is the views they are fantastic!!!!

The apartment is well presented and equipped. The views are spectacular and there is always something to see! As soon as you open the front door the scene in front of you takes your breath away! The sofa and bed are comfortable; the added bonus of the bath with a view gives a touch of luxury. The shower is powerful and plenty of hot water. The added bonus of a washer/dryer and a dishwasher makes a difference. No parking was not an issue for us as we traveled by train. We were grateful to get an early check in and the apartment was spotless. The information and service provided by Cherished Cottages was fabulous as we the bag of Cornish treats on arrival. The heating was good once we got it going. The bean bag however has seen better days!!! We look forward to being able to stay again and didn’t want to leave!

Fantastic view of Porthmeor and good access to the beach. Great location. Close to shops, restaurants and galleries.
Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed.
Very clean.
No pegs to hang coats so had to drape over dining chairs.
Rug and bean bag a bit shabby but otherwise good order.
Lovely big bath on mezzanine floor.

Our 6th stay in this apartment. We book mainly for the location directly onto the beach but also for the amazing view and sunsets. To have the convenience store on your doorstep is ideal as well as it being a 1 minute walk to shops, bars and restaurants.

So gorgeous to sit in the apartment and to watch the sea and in it’s various moods. Perfect size property for a getaway for two and great to be in St Ives at this time of year when it’s quieter but still with lots of lovely restaurants and shops open.

We had a very enjoyable holiday at Barnaloft.

The apartment is in an ideal location, as soon as you enter the views are stunning looking out of the apartment window directly onto the beach. Apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others.

Our 5th stay here at Barnaloft. Amazing views with breathtaking sunsets. Had a week of sunshine, swimming in the sea morning and evening when the tide was in. Such easy access to the beach, local shop supplies everything you could need. Lovely welcome hamper from Cherished. Can’t wait to return!

Overlooking Porthmeor beach, this apartment is in an ideal spot in St Ives. The space is very well designed and is very well maintained. The welcome pack was great with wine, apple juice, tea, coffee, chocolate and shortbread. We wish there was an armchair alongside the sofa though.

We have enjoyed many holidays in St Ives, staying in different locations and different properties. However 14 Barnaloft is the best property we have stayed in. It is fantastic for couples who want a beach location with stunning views, which are still fabulous regardless of the Cornish weather. We were lucky to enjoy several glorious days on Porthmeor beach and several spectacular sunsets. The welcome hamper and fresh flowers provided on arrival by Cherished Cottages were a lovely addition which was very much appreciated. We will definitely be returning for another stay.

I do absolutely love this apartment. Stunning. There really is nothing we would change, its a shame it doesnt come with parking. But i appreciate that cant be helped
The only small thing i would say, arriving to only half a toilet roll after a 9 hour drive, wasnt very helpful

The property was clean and well equipped.
We were surprised at the poor state of the front and back doors and windows In the the large window pain at the back the sea view was badly obscured by the faulty double glazing which is one of the things we paid for. A real shame. Also the sofa was small and uncomfortable. An L shaped more sumptuous sofa would have been much nicer.

It was a shame that the mentioned issues were not reported to us during your stay as we would certainly have sent a maintenance team over to inspect and repair (if necessary) the windows, as the view is the main feature of this lovely property. We have sent a team down today to rectify the issue. Thank you for pointing this out to us, & we have informed the owner. Those poor windows have had a bashing in the recent storms! The sofa is being replaced in the next week or two, it has taken rather longer for the replacement to arrive than we anticipated and we can only apologise for it not being with us sooner - Very best wishes, Tim.

We had a fabulous week in October. The sun shone so it was the perfect spot to enjoy the beach and the beautiful sunsets. The apartment is close to all the restaurants and shops but is lovely and quiet. We would definitely recommend and would book the apartment again. We had a perfect relaxing holiday.

The only negative we found was the sofa and the furniture on the balcony wasn’t very comfortable, which is such a shame as the view is absolutely stunning so would be lovely to sit with a glass of wine watching the sea and the sunset.

Third visit and St Ives and Porthmeor beach and the view from 14 are special. The settee is poor and spoils an otherwise great apartment. A garage or allocated parking would save loads of hassle.

Amazing location. Apartment compact but that was expected. Sofa far too small for two people to be comfortable - that comment can be found in many of the reviews and we agree. Amazing balcony just needs comfy out door seating. Inside the sofa needs a foot stool. A tv in bedroom area would make it totally perfect.

Firstly & foremost we had an excellent holiday. The location is excellent but the accommodation needs work to be classed as "luxury"; outside furniture needs upgrading as does the sofa; maybe a Nespresso & radio. The bed is very comfortable but the plan does lead you to believe there is a WC upstairs which there isn't

Does not matter about the weather here, you could just sit back and watch this fabulous view. You are right on the beach or in the sea depending on weather. Have to be very diligent in clearing up after the seagulls but all part of seaside living and very worn it.

A must, the setting is amazing, the views, quality of furnishings, position, everything is spot on. The ONLY thing is be prepared to have to clean up seagull feaces most days on your balcony, more cleaniing equipment would be helpful with this. A room fan would be good too for hot days. Besides that just amazing...we ll definatley will rebook

The apartment is in the perfect location for the town centre and beaches. Wonderful to be able to enjoy the sea view when sitting inside and from the balcony. Warm, light and sunny apartment with very comfortable sofa and bed. Bathroom is downstairs so need to be careful negotiating wooden stairs at night. Would definitely stay there again!

Surely the best situated property to sea gaze In the heart of St Ives. Tastefully & beautifully decorated down to the smallest detail. And visitors who’ve commented on the comfort of the bed aren’t wrong! If the lack of parking is a problem, a neighbour offered us her garage for a small fee. It’s comforting to know the search is over, a home from home we’ll be visiting again.

14 Barnaloft is a very special place. From the amazing view that wows you as you enter the door to the nuances of the sea and light that entrance the longer you stay. No matter what time of year this property holds jewels of experiences for those who stay. Walk to dinner along the beach. Sit on the balcony later and star gaze. No need for a tv, beach life provides an ever changing motion picture. Relaxing in this well designed apartment is a dream.

What a great apartment, beautifully furnished and well equipped kitchen. Nice and quiet location and with the most fantastic views and stunning sunsets; you don't want to leave the place. The communications before our stay was excellent and very accommodating. Walking distance to wherever you would want to go in St Ives. We are definitely returning to this apartment soon.

The location of this apartment is spectacular, right on the beach. It’s perfect to watch the waves and you will see the most spectacular sunsets. It has everything you need for a self catering holiday, they have thought of everything, though another small sofa or comfy armchair would be good., and some more comfy chairs on the balcony would also be a benefit. The super king size bed is probably the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in!! The only downside is parking....we bought a rover ticket for the week as there is no parking at the property and it is great as you can use it at any council car park in Cornwall, but we could not park on either of the two car parks near to this property so was a real hike to and from Trenwith car park right at the top of the town. However I would still return here as it’s the perfect location and is a gorgeous apartment.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Barnaloft....however we thought photos provided were extremely clever! Although the balcony is indeed in a beautiful position, with a stunning view, its impossible to sit out there because of seagulls constantly pooing ! Every time we cleared up the poo and sat out there...the gulls pooed on us and the balcony again!! The table, chairs and patio windows were disgusting again within a couple of hours of cleaning; such a shame, because it was lovely out there. We later discovered that the gulls are nesting in the roof!

That aside, although there is a really nice TV there, the sofa is extremely uncomfortable, and gave us both backache.
We knew that we would have to be leaving our car in a car park ( very narrow steep streets in St Ives) but were annoyed that we often had to wait a long time for a space to become available in order park. Cherished Cottages should provide reserved parking! We were also unaware that this would cost us £47 for the week! Should be stated in property info .

Property desperately needs re decorating, and window stays in bedroom need repairing/replacing...we could shut them properly.

Welcome pack was good and very useful!

Excellent location with the crystal clear water of the sea visible from all parts of the apartment- except the bathroom! The welcome bag of goodies was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The juice was excellent and so nice for a non alcoholic beverage to be included. The decor is lovely but perhaps an additional comfy chair in the lounge would be good. The balcony furniture is good, but we would have appreciated some outdoor cushions on which we could relax....that we could place on the floor. The only other suggestion we can make is to provide a clock somewhere on the property.....even on holiday we need to know the time! Overall a relaxing enjoyable stay and we would recommend this property.
