We have been staying at the Old Bakehouse off season for years and really feel at home there. Right in the heart of St Ives, clean and cosy and ideal for a couple seeking a peaceful winter break.

Another wonderful stay at the old bakehouse cottage. This is our favourite cottage. It’s comfortable has everything you need in the kitchen, comfy bed. Right in the centre of St Ives and all the art galleries and only a few minutes to all the beaches and shops.
Cherished cottages team are friendly and offer. Excellent customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

We booked this cottage as an early break and to meet close friends who live in Carbis Bay.
The property is excellent for a couple or a family with one child or perhaps two younger children. The main bedroom is large and loads of wardrobe space, good shower room and a small additional bedroom. The lounge and kitchen are also of a good size and extremely well fitted out with good quality furniture and appliances.
The location is good with easy access to beaches, harbour and town, all only a few minutes walk away and you don’t really need to do anything other than park your car, (not the easiest thing to do in St Ives as regular visitors will know!) however, if you are lucky enough to find a space in the Island car park, I suggest leaving there and enjoy the break. Early morning and late evening you may well find a space, so if you do want to visit other locations follow this advice.

Cherished. Cottages staff have excellent customer service …. Before booking anywhere in St ives I would recommend a chat with the team to make sure it suits your needs . They have many beautiful properties …. I have arthritis so some of the staircases are too steep for me and my husband has a pacemaker so can’t use an induction cooker.
We love the cottage and have stayed many times, it has everything you need and right in the centre.
The owners really look after the cottage.
The sofa is firm and comfy. The bed is so comfortable you don’t want to get up.
I can’t praise cherished team enough.
In the past 3 years all the windows have been replaced upstairs and the front doors ….
We are back in June and September …. We loved Christmas and new year, the fire works we’re amazing , fire street church choir Christmas Eve they are incredible, Truro beautiful city, Anggaravk Christmas lights not to be missed and the Eden project lights amazing frozen kids are us . … there were too many things to mention. We love St ives, love the oldbakehouse and wouldn’t go with anyone but cherished cottages. Hope this helps. Kath

We absolutely loved The Old Bakehouse and would definitely return without hesitation. It's a great house and was just perfect for our 2 week stay...home away from home. The location is perfect and everywhere in St Ives is in easy reach. I can't recommend The Old Bakehouse and Cherished Cottages enough and can't wait to return.

We came down for 2 weeks as we were getting married in St Ives.
The property was really lovely, very clean and very very well equipped!
The kitchen didn’t have much storage for food etc so we did have to move around the cupboards but this is a very minor feedback and didn’t impact our stay in the slightest.
We also had a mid-stay clean which was amazing, was lovely to come home to fresh bedding and towels.

Our favourite cottage in st Ives. Right in the centre of everything. The cottage is bright and clean has everything you need. The sofa and bed is comfortable, plenty of storage.
Cherished cottages have excellent customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
We love it so much we are back in September, December.we have even booked the cottage June and September next year. Absolutely love it.

We have been coming to St Ives for years and usually book through cherished cottages as they are brilliant and haven’t had any problems with them as booking agents at all. 5 stars and highly recommend.

Location is amazing.

Inside, the old bakehouse is in need of new windows. We woke to the worst condensation I have ever experienced. We called the number in the guidebook and they sent a handy man over within the hour as we couldn’t open any of the upstairs bedroom windows. This was concerning had there been a fire. The handy man had to open them with a rubber mallet. Part of the ceiling came away (plaster). The blind in the bathroom is see through so I often showered in the dark.

On the whole, we had a lovely stay. It was nice to stay somewhere different than St Nicholas court but will stick with what we know and trust moving forward.

This is our second stay in The Old Bakehouse with our two indoor cats. They recognised it immediately and rushed to pose at the living room window seat and we all felt very much at home and relaxed. The hamper provided by Cherished is a generous welcoming touch.

My partner, myself and our dog stayed here for a week September 2022. Upon arrival we were pleased with the property aesthetic and cleanliness. The sofas and the bed was very comfy also. We did not really cook in the property but it seemed well equipped for this if it was needed. The location was fine as it was in the town of St Ives, however we do prefer a sea view and we missed this here. The road was pretty busy with cars and vans, not that that was anyone's fault, just an observation. We had a lovely week all in all. The only minor issue we had was a day where we came across quite a few ants in the kitchen but we managed to resolve this pretty quickly and fuss free.

I would stay here again for comfort and cleanliness and for being in the town of St Ives and would recommend anyone looking for such a property to stay here too.

Our first stay in the Old Bakehouse and we had such a good time there we have already booked again for 2023. We love St Ives and have been going every September for quite a few years now. We have booked with Cherished a few times now and were a little disappointed when booking for 2022 because the cottage we had stayed the previous years was no longer available for rent. The bakehouse has not disappointed at all, the cottage is in a great position in St Ives giving easy access to the town and beaches. The cottage is really well decorated, and facilities are excellent for a relaxing stay.

The cottage is a short walk from our favourite beach Porthgwidden or Porthmoer beach and you can get the best cream tea from Olive's cafe in seconds. There is enough space outside the cottage to drop off your bags safely and Fore street is less than 4 minutes away.

This was our second year staying at The Old Bakehouse and it was like coming home. Everything you need for your holiday, perfect location (although a little noisy in the street until midnight) and the staff at Cherished couldn’t be more helpful. Highly recommend.

The Old Bake House was a fantastic base for our holiday. The cottage was clean, well formed and very central.

Some areas of improvement for the cottage would be some hooks in the bathroom or bedroom to hand towels.
The location would not suit people wanting peace and quiet. Being so central you do have people walking past late at night and making noise.

My Mum and I stayed for 2 weeks, the cottage is comfortable, beautifully decorated and so well-equipped! They've really thought of everything you might need on holiday. The welcome hamper and the milk in the fridge on arrival, were indeed very welcome after an 8 hour journey. The location is fantastic too, close to beaches, the Island, harbour, galleries, places to eat, and the very well-stocked Norway Stores for food shopping is a couple of minutes away. The delightful Olive's Cafe is just around the corner too. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the cottage and Cherished, whose customer service is truly excellent.

I thought the property was in a great location and was within 2 minutes walk to reach any one of 4 beaches.

The cottage was clean and freshly painted.
The bed was very comfortable and I didn’t need my topper I took!!!!
Loved the position of where it was. So easy to unload and park the car in island car park. plenty of spaces in winter if you are disabled and have a blue badge.
Cherished cottages have fantastic customer service. We loved it so much we booked before we left for December.
I would have no hesitation to book with cherished holidays.
The only thing I’d say is if you have a small child I would recommend to take a stair gate at the top of the stairs as there’s a step from both bedrooms and if they didn’t notice it they could fall down the stairs.
Perfect in every way … great storage, washer drier a bonus. Very cosy and warm.

We stayed in Dec 21, myself, husband & 2 dogs. It was just perfect for us. The property was immaculately clean on arrival and very warm and welcoming. Although a small cottage the rooms are of a good size.
We did experience 2 maintenance issues with the property but Cherished cottages resolved both very quickly and I can’t fault their turn around times and customer service.
We hope to return again soon

I have stayed in St Ives many times but this was my first stay in a property managed by Cherished Cottages & they didn't disappoint.
The cottage was lovely overall & very clean and well presented although some areas are getting ready for a little maintenance & upgrade i the not too distant future - not said to put anyone off but just an observation & hopefully the owners will have this planned into their budget.
A general problem with holiday lets at the moment is the COVID extended cleaning times - it was a bit of a drag having to wait until after 5pm to gain access after a 5 hour journey & that along with the early leaving time at the end of the break did make me feel like i had lost a full day.
Would i return to this cottage - yes. (but its not the top of my list although another property by Cherished Cottages is!)
What would improve it - Some upgrading & maintenance & some more subtle lighting/table lamps in the living room (being picky now)
If it had a reserved car parking space that would be a massive benefit & would put the cottage almost at the top of my list for future visits.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at The Old Bakehouse, as did our 2 indoor cats. It was in a great location - away from the bustle of the harbour but just 2 minutes walk to two great beaches and the same down the harbour itself. There was a welcome hamper full of delicious Cornish produce and fresh flowers to greet us. The Cherished team have been very welcoming and helpful. We will be back - cats and all!

We stayed with 2 dogs and this was perfect. Grass area or beach for them. We loved it. Cottage was perfect. We have talked about returning so that is a good sign.

Had another outstanding holiday in St Ives in one of Cherished Cottages beautiful properties. Stayed at the old bakehouse previously and it never disappoints. The location is superb, pre booked restaurants each evening so all went well also pre booked parking on someone’s drive a little out of town but totally worth it. Thanks for the memories will be back again in august to stay at another property with family thanks to all the staff that work so hard to make our holidays special ones x

For two people we found the cottage very spacious and has excellent storage for all the stuff you need to bring when holidaying in the UK. It’s freshly painted and certainly very clean. However we did struggle with the beds, main bedroom could easily take a larger bed, if keeping with what’s there, please get a mattress topper!!

Missed a Nespresso machine.

Love being in close proximity of the beaches and Island car park.

Loved the hamper and tulips, thank you Cherished, always excellent service.

We love our holidays at St Ives and The Old Bakehouse meets all our requirements in location and the first class condition of this property, right on the harbour and the town with plenty of walks close by, we look forward to next year for our fourth stay in St Ives and The Old Bakehouse !!

Beautifully clean, pretty cottage in the best part of town- within easy strolling of beaches and eating places. We loved the welcome hamper and even the dog was not forgotten. Every time we came in or out of the front door, we were met with envious glances from tourists. The cottage itself was exactly as the photos show- fairly small but very well-appointed with everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Lovely small cottage, ideally situated to everything you need in St Ives. A wonderful long weekend and as normal Cherished delivered what we needed.

Very enjoyable stay in characterful property. Good facilities and location. Unfortunately British weather was not the best but thanks anyway for a nice week of accommodation and facilities.
