We cannot praise this Lodge and the setting enough, absolutely beautiful! We stayed there with our grown up daughter, son & daughter in law and their dog to celebrate my 65th Birthday. Suzanne did everything to help make it a special occasion and put up a Birthday banner, left a 65th Birthday card and a vase of beautiful mixed daffodils, as well as wine and Somerset Apple juice in the fridge and Chris made his home made flapjacks. What an absolute gem! Upon arrival we was so pleasantly surprised to find homemade flapjacks, fresh juices and tea coffee sugar and milk all supplied for us . There was a throw blanket and towel for the dogs and some complimentary doggy treats :) everything was so well presented and the lodge was immaculate. We had the most wonderful relaxing time and caught 8 carp and 1 tench over the 3 nights that we stayed :) the location is tucked away making it feel like your in the middle of no where but local amenities are only a stone throw away . Goldcrest lodge was so sweet, perfect for what we needed, well equipped for a long break. Hot tub was a bonus. A book full of information on local pubs restaurants and walking routes with guided maps. Bed was comfortable and we found it really pieceful. Everything we needed for cooking, and loved the little tea cups. Everything was clean And shops,restaurants were only 10 min drive away.
We recently stayed in Kingfisher Lodge with some friends for a weekend of relaxation and fishing and what a great experience we had. Suzanne and Chris are the epitome of great customer service, communication was great from the start and they made us feel so welcome (especially the dog!) and they made sure we had everything we needed. The fishing was fabulous with a mixed bag of nice tench, roach, rudd and carp every day and the quality and condition of the fish show that they obviously look after the fishery. We’ve returned to Flycatcher for a few years now and it never fails to give us that ‘escape’ from our busy lives. As soon as you drive on to the site, you feel relaxed. Everything about Flycatcher promotes calm and wellbeing, from the open space within to the outdoor space with hot tub and beyond by the lake! The attention to cleanliness and customer satisfaction is secondary to none. Thoroughly enjoyed and will certainly be returning for that ‘escape’ !
